Tamagotchi Ingo!

I had been working on these for a custom tamagotchi back when I had my busted wrist because pixel art is easy to do with either hand, but once it got better I stopped working on it. stares into the distance. thinking about my "ravage lives" au again where both ravage and megatron are dealing with their own frames failing them. megatron having been rebuilt time and time again and is now in a body that is no longer his own, that he doesn't feel connected to, that has no bite. ravage having a body that no longer serves its original purpose- what purpose does a cassette serve without a host? and when did ravage start seeing his frame as something that needed to have a use rather than just being him?

there are sections of megatron's frame that he cannot feel anymore. the very ends of his fingers, a joint here, a panel there. his plating feels loose against his protoform; there is no connection between his spark and his shell. and ravage dealing with the aftermath of being torn in half by tarn. his legs and spinal strut were rebuilt, of course, but it's not the same. none on the lost light are specialized in the care of a cassette's frame. sometimes his spine is stiff, sometimes his legs lock up, sometimes he aches. and sometimes he can't move at all; forced to depend on those around him and despising the dependency of it.

i said this in the tags of another post but. the way that the desert always seems to PHYSICALLY pop up whenever scar and grian are together is insane. first them finding the only tiny patch of desert in double life, and now a desert appearing in front of them right as they're laughing together and riding on a llama camel. like we all know this but MAN. they seriously never left the desert. it's become a symbol of their past together, and they can't escape it.

I know I'm not saying anything particularly novel here, but it makes me want to scream, the way that in Christianity, the Bible–or, if you're Catholic, the Church and the Bible–is the only source of Truth, and everything else is of the world. And in context, "of the world" literally means "straight from the devil." So when you struggle with what the Church or what the Bible is saying, you have nowhere else to go to look for insight or understanding or answers–you are directed straight back to the Bible, the Bible is the answer to every single one of your questions!

Maybe at best, you're encouraged to talk to your pastor, or given a short list of pre-approved theologians to reference. But that's it. So when you run into struggles in your life, or find contradictions in the text, or someone challenges you to explain your beliefs, or you want to exercise your natural curiosity, or have doubts, you're immediately redirected and trained to re-imerse yourself in the source material, to continuously reindoctrinate yourself and reinforce that cycle of circular reasoning.

And breaking out of it is nigh impossible, without something external to jolt you out of it, some fairly significant impact to penetrate that rabbithole, or some slowly growing pain and sense of dissonance, and either way, tearing yourself away from that cycle is extremely difficult! But talking to someone still stuck in it is maddening, because everything circles back to the same source, over and over again, and when you ask them, why do they trust that source? How do they know it's the only trustworthy Truth? They say, well, because the Bible says it is. Why do you trust the Bible? Because it's God's word. Oh, how do you know that? Well, the Bible says so.

chronic fatigue is something I feel like is not talked abt enough. being too tired to get out of bed, too tired to go to class, having to use all your energy just to exist in the current moment. Being constantly sleepy and able to take naps at any point, and those naps always end up longer than you think. going to the doctor because ur so tired of being TIRED. And they tell u that u just need to exercise more, not understanding that not only is it extremely difficult to even walk, but that your body doesn’t give you the awake signal even after you do. getting ur lab results back and wanting to cry cos there’s nothing wrong with you. Having to survive off energy drinks because you can barely stay awake during the day. Your body aches and you’re constantly yawning. You’ve tried every possible treatment, caffeine, abstaining from caffeine, exercise, medication, B-12 shots, and nothing changes.

It’s not only infuriating, but it makes you feel like you’re slowly losing your mind because nobody believes you. There aren’t even any definitive tests to prove you have it, just symptoms when every other test failed. My experience with chronic fatigue is constant distress because I can’t do the things I want to do, ever. And paired with ADHD it means I struggle so fucking much doing basic tasks.

To all my friends out there with chronic fatigue, I see you, we are in this together.
