I’m still hung up on the fact that the CWs Supernatural couldn’t make Dean bisexual because it’s “too controversial” and then they killed THE Christian God

Scenes/Things in Supernatural that genuinely don't make sense to me if Dean was straight:
The confession booth scene.
Sam just rolling with the fact that Dean's siren is a guy while still thinking sirens infect people through sex.
Dean being flustered by several men: Gunner Lawless, Aaron, Doctor Sexy, etc.
All the parallels between Destiel and other couples. (A big one being "last night on Earth" bc how do you do that accidentally.)
Having all the gay jokes be on Dean instead of Sam.
Paralleling Sam meeting his childhood celebrity crush with Dean meeting Gunner Lawless.
The boner Dean got when Cas cleaned up.
Dean gulping after Cas does an impression from a Western movie.
Charlie, a lesbian, calling Castiel "dreamy."
The way Mary looks at Dean and Cas when they hug.
Dean wondering why everyone assumes he's gay, while Sam not caring.
The logic that Charlie can't flirt with guys because she's only attracted to women, but then having Dean flirt with the guy for her.
Dean seeming disappointed when learning that Aaron's flirting was fake.
The amount of time Dean and Cas spend staring at each other.
Dean canonically having an orgy with Crowley.
A woman saying that she knows when someone's pining for someone else to Dean, just for us to learn that Dean was never in love with Amara.
The set design and script choices that lead to a cross in the background while Dean said "I do." to Cas after he came back to life.
That time when Dean wanted to say something and Cas was like, "It's okay, I heard your prayer." But Dean still looked like he wanted to say something important.
Amara: [about Dean] "I can see inside your heart. Feel the love you feel. Except, it’s cloaked in shame.”
If you want to have a more expansive list, @destiel-is-real-idgaf added to this one quite nicely.

does anyone realize how crazy it is to have the actor of a mostly headcanoned queer ship say the fans were never crazy and they were right all along after 10+ years of everyone just absolutely going nuts over the said queerbaited ship

maybe my most controversial headcanon is that I see dean as a straight man and sam is his only exception

that scene in 4.14 sex and violence where the siren tells sam (in the most seductive voice possible) that dean doesn’t want some bitch in a g-string but what he wants most is a little brother who looks up to him all while sam’s in dean’s grip with his ass quite literally pressed up against dean’s dick and dean is holding a knife to sam’s throat and then he slices sam’s neck something something knives as phallic objects used to penetrate bodies something something. rip freud you’d have loved the wincest show

Stiles, having been kidnapped again: And, honestly, that's why I'm scared to ship any two Star Wars characters ever again before seeing their family tree. I mean, I don't want the franchise to end up like Game of Thrones— dying of incest-born diseases and poor write—
Kidnapper: DO YOU EVER SHUT UP???
Stiles: No really, no. Maybe if I'm unconscious but I've been told I talk in my sleep too—
Kidnapper: Shut up!
Kidnapper: Fuck this. This isn't worth the money. Get out!
Stiles, having already untied his own restaints: Man, I thought it was going to take you longer to let me go. Didn't even get to all the Percy Jackson characters being cousins.

i thought it was a fandom headcanon that buck is bi, but no, i'm at episode 3x12 in my first time watching and the opening scene is literally maddie, chimney, buck and josh playing poker. they joke about setting up buck and josh, with maddie being adamant about the fact that she's not setting the two up because she knows they wouldn't click ("oh no, i like you way too much to set you up with my brother. (...) and i love you too much to let you keep being so incredibly, tragically single.") at no point does buck object to being set up with a man, he's only complaining about how hard dating is.
what i'm saying is, buddie season 7 canon?

Dean Winchester: Reading Recommendations
Because I headcannon Dean as a reader, here is a list of books that I think he would like. Some are directly referenced in the show, others are odes to America and a life on the road complete with horror, satire or complicated family issues. And, of course, some books manage to meet at the twist of the mobius strip where toxic masculinity and homoeroticism collide.
Books of Blood - Clive Barker
Imajica - Clive Barker
The Complete Poems - Hart Crane
Hard Rain Falling - Don Carpenter
Our Share of Night - Mariana Enriquez
Catch-22 - Joseph Heller
Iliad - Homer
Jesus’ Son - Denis Johnson
East of Eden - John Steinbeck
My Heart Is a Chainsaw - Stephen Graham Jones
On the Road - Jack Kerouac
Christine - Stephen King
The Road - Cormac McCarthy
The Heart Is a Lonely Hunter - Carson McCullers
Survivor - Chuck Palahniuk
The Moviegoer - Walker Percy
The Devil All the Time - Donald Ray Pollock
A Season in Hell - Arthur Rimbaud
Crush - Richard Siken
Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas - Hunter S. Thompson
Cat’s Cradle - Kurt Vonnegut
Slaughterhouse Five - Kurt Vonnegut
Time is a Mother - Ocean Vuong
Leaves of Grass - Walt Whitman
Butcher’s Crossing - John Williams

anyways. it's cloudy in los angeles when dean and sam come to town. 2007. it's cold and rainy and there's a ghost haunting the set of a horror movie. maybe more than one ghost! and dean fucks tara benchley in her trailer. and he really wants to fuck martin flagg, the movie's writer. and he's got an itch in his system he needs to scratch. so when sam holes up at the motel that night, dean goes to a bar. picks a badge and ladder joint. walks in. knows this is the right spot. big men sitting solo at the bar, processing hard days at work. and dean's got his long eyelashes and wide eyes and freckles dotted across his nose. he's got a hickey on his neck. he pulls up next to a particularly big man. with a nice sharp nose and a clean haircut. and he says "hi". and the guy shakes his hand, introduces himself as tommy. he's kinda funny, and he keeps looking into dean's eyes and then looking down at his whiskey like he's got to control himself, and yeah. this is the one. so dean puts a ten down on the counter, covers both their drinks, and he winks at tommy and heads out of the bar. and like. he knows to give the guy a second, so he stands in the alley and lights up a cigarette and blows smoke into the sky above hollywood. thinks hollywood. bright lights, and belonging. where he could perform and someone would tell him "good job" for it. and then, like clockwork, tommy slips around the corner. stands next to dean, presses his shoulder against his. says "y'know, i'm a firefighter. i think i'm meant to put those things out." and he grabs the cigarette right from between dean's lips and presses it out into the wet pavement with the toe of his boot. and then he looks up again, takes a breath. dean's all dimples and swagger, he's got him--hook, line, n sinker. but he’s gonna make tommy make the first move because he's big and he ought to know what he wants. dean plays it up, bites his lip, says “hey, i was smokin’ that.” and tommy huffs a laugh, mumbles something like “fuck it” under his breath, and then he’s pushing dean back into the brick of the wall and kissing him. and he’s got dean’s head cradled between both his hands and dean melts. like damn, this forest fire of a man is fucking kissing him. movie-magic-old-school-hollywood-golden-age-best-picture style. and dean pulls back a bit, when it seems like tommy’ll never come up for air. says “what’s the rush, big guy?” and when tommy breathes "sorry. sorry–just. i've needed that.” dean says “been a while?”
tommy closes his eyes and nods, “forever.”

Dean Winchester – Somebody To Love - [ on Youtube ]
A mini character study of my favorite canonical bisexual; a look at his "potential for love in all places" and the people he lost; and a tribute to the greatest love story of all time.

while i will always love and appreciate the bisexual dean winchester agenda, i truly believe that if he was raised differently—or maybe if he grew up today instead—that boy would have been gay. like his love for women in a romantic/sexual context was always such a caricature and was continuously used as a symbol of masculinity that played against the roles assigned to him by his father growing up for the sake of suppressing any queerness he might exhibit. now whether that suppression was purposely written into his character or was a reaction to the character they had created, i’m not sure, but it’s there regardless.
i don’t mean to dismiss the love he felt for cassie or lisa, but particularly with lisa, i’m not sure he was ever in love with her, despite the fact that he did care for both her and ben. i get so frustrated watching the end of s5 because him going to her house and his perfect “apple pie life” being with her in suburbia genuinely came out of nowhere and i’ve never understood a) why it had to happen, and b) why it had to be lisa. but thinking about it in this sense, she was the closest thing he had in his life to everything he was raised to believe he should want by one john winchester, who lost his perfect wife, perfect family, perfect apple pie life and sent all of them down this path in the first place. so of course to dean, his happy ending would be with someone like lisa. but that’s the important part. someone like lisa, not lisa herself. he may have had love for her and he may have been able to picture a life with her, but it wasn’t necessarily because she was everything he wanted; she was a symbol of the things that tore his family apart and so to be with her felt like he was finally able to put some of it back together. and that makes me so sad for him because all of that is a result of the sense of responsibility ingrained in him growing up by john, not something he wanted for himself.
but back to his general attitude towards women, there was an excellent post that said he only acts like the typical womanizer he has a reputation for being around women deemed “stereotypical” by the misogynistic perspective. otherwise, he tends to take on a fairly brotherly role; he doesn’t tend to pursue any women he can “take seriously,” and is more intimidated or impressed by them than anything else. with the exception of cassie (which was pre-series and we never got full context for in the first place), he only ever pursued women with whom he would have a definitive ending—by that i mean women who he knows he’ll never see again or who would have a clearly defined role during the time they’re together that wouldn’t threaten the status quo. and yes these could also be the traits of a commitment-phobe or someone chronically on the move, but for one, sam doesn’t tend to do the same thing (see ruby, amelia, and eileen), and for two, given the things i mentioned already, it makes me consider it more of a result of him not actually being interested in women romantically.
his reaction to women when not purposely used as the butt of a joke or to perpetuate the “womanizer dean winchester” agenda is often so innately fraternal, caring in a way that doesn’t have any expectations behind it. and when there is a romantic context, so much of the relationship can be attributed to the way john raised him and the beliefs he has as a direct result; it’s never simply been built on the foundation of love.
every time he is dismissed as this macho het guy, it also dismisses so much of what makes him a wonderful character, and yes a lot of that is his queerness. so in a world where he didn’t grow up with roles and responsibilities that shaped him into someone he knew his dad hated and forced him to create this character for himself in order to survive? i think he would have been gay and he would have been okay with that.
