herculean (drrr x f!reader) - chapter 21
Chapter 21 - Wolf in No Clothing
synopsis: a pleasant day out quickly takes a turn for the chaotic once shizuo and izaya cross paths.
word count: 2,265
warnings: canon-typical violence
Tumblr media
"weep for yourself, my man, you'll never be what is in your heart weep little lion man, you're not as brave as you were at the start,, little lion man - mumford & sons
Setton: Feels like it’s been forever since I’ve had a day off Setton: Anyone have plans, today? Sora: Just getting lunch with a friend! Taro Tanaka: I’m going to see a movie. Saika: Really? So am I. Byakura: Sounds like you guys are hooking up! Sora: Perhaps….an unprecedented reunion? O_O
Kanra has entered the chat.
Kanra: Hello, everyone! Your dear friend is here! Taro Tanaka: Hello there! Saika: Hi Setton: Hey! Sora: ‘ Sup! Byakura: Die Kanra: Byakura’s as hard-hearted as ever! Kanra: Anyways, have you guys heard? Sora: What a surprise. Kanra: Yuuhei Hanejima got a death threat! Taro Tanaka: The actor? Kanra: Yup! The internet’s going crazy over it! Sora: Must be another prank, right? Setton: Anyways, since tomorrow’s a day off, let’s have fun!
...
Next time you saw Mairu and Kururi, you’d have to personally apologize.
“Your brother is freaking Yuuhei Hanejima!!?? ”
“His name’s Kasuka, but yeah.”
With all of the chaos, it had been a while since you and Shizuo could hang out. When you invited him out, he had agreed—as long as you didn’t mind him stopping to see his brother. Of course, you had no issue. In fact, a part of you was curious to meet the guy. Shizuo obviously thought highly of him, and it had you thinking. What was he like? Did they act similarly? Did they look similar?
Imagine your surprise when he stops you both after getting burgers and goes “there he is”and points at Yuuhei Hanejima.
Shizuo's brother was a famous actor? How does that even happen--and how hasn't he mentioned it. Thinking back to their physical similarities, you have half a mind to pinch yourself. Yeah, they looked similar, but the idea just seemed too ridiculous.
Said man was at the center of a crowd, making a spectacle for the camera as he interviewed random onlookers. Even from a distance, you could make out his sweeping movements and energy. He certainly had a presence for the camera. His behavior was definitely contrasting to Shizuo's. The two of you simply stood in the distance, watching. Is this what he meant by seeing? Looking back at Shizuo, you note the pure admiration adorning his features.
"You're really proud of him, aren't you?" You elbow him with a grin, chuckling at how the admiration is replaced by brief confusion.
"Well, yeah." He answers like it's the most obvious thing in the world.
He seemed so sweet like this. Just another thing that solidified how human he was to you. It was obvious how much he cared for his brother. It brought warmth to your heart and pride to witness such a moment. There’s some space in the crowd and you get a better view of Yuuhei--Kasuka in action. He was interviewing another couple. It was hard to make out from the distance, but they seemed young. If you squinted you could make out glasses and a color block jacket….
Wait.
Just as you comprehend the familiar faces, unrest washes over the crowd. The air was suddenly filled with frightened yelling. What was going on?
From the chaos, a man appears, tall and mighty among the small, cowering forms of onlookers. The glint of his knife, brandished high, is visible from you. The circle that forms around them gives you a clear view. The man is clearly unhinged, bearing an oddly crooked stance as he growls something at Kasuka. Your breath hitches as he advances on Kasuka, who stands only centimeters away from Anri and Mikado.
Kanra: Yuuhei Hanejima got a death threat
Shoot. You had forgotten about that. Writing the threat off as a foolish prank, the whole situation left your head as quickly as it had entered. So quickly, that you didn't even think to mention the whole ordeal to Shizuo. Guilt floods your conscience as your eyes dart in his direction. However, you find no one standing in his place. A gust of wind brushes your cheeks as something rushes past you. The giant object soars through the air--flying, flying, flying….
Slamming right into the assailant.
Mortified silence developed into busy, confused chatter. Above that chatter, the sound of panting stuck out to you--the panting coming from behind you. Eyes wide as saucers, you turn to see your heaving companion. His legs are bent in a wide stance, energy still surging through them after an adrenaline-fueled throw. Further off to the side, you see the poor storefront of the burger joint you had just visited, now missing a large, light-lined sign. Welp. Wonder who did that.
Regaining his breathing, Shizuo simply walks off in another direction, not even bothering to take in the aftermath of his actions. You, however, still have your eyes glued to spectacle. As you go to follow him, your neck cranes to see the sight for as long as you can. Among the scurrying civilians, your eyes lock with another’s.
Kasuka stares back at you. He seems oddly unperturbed, given the previous events. Mesmerized by the blank expression on his face, you return his gaze until the very last second that you have to walk away. You follow Shizuo silently, taking in his heavy footsteps and the tension in his shoulders. Nothing seemed like the right thing to say, so you just continued to walk with him. As the two of you walked further, you could hear a voice in the distance. A high-pitched, youthful voice. A familiar voice.
“Yuuhei!! Yuuhei!!’
You rounded a corner and, when you saw the Orihara twins hanging from a truck by their hoodies, your jaw dropped.
“Let us down, Shizuo,” Kururi pleads as the man approaches.
You watch as he reaches up, grabs them by the hood, and lifts them from the truck. Just as you think he’s about to put them down, he turns, carrying them over to a nearby building….then tosses them through an open door. In one fell swoop, he shuts the door and proceeds to push an entire vending machine in front of it. You can only gape as he leans back on the wall behind him.
“Wha- Shizuo, what on earth are you doing?” That seemed kind of mean. The sound of them yelling only bothers you further. Why would they need to be shut in like that--they were just two silly young girls…
“If you needed privacy to snog your girlfriend, you could’ve just asked! We can cover our ears!”
...on second thought, some people needed a bit of a time out. Still, you eye the man incredulously as he lights and takes a drag of a cigarette. Seems like he was really on edge--seeing someone threaten your brother’s life will do that to you, you guess. The shrill ringing of a cellphone cuts through the silence. Shizuo pulls his phone from his pocket and raises it to his ear.
You can’t hear whoever had called him, but the sound of their voice seems to take Shizuo off guard, his eyes widening. However, the surprise is quickly overtaken by hostility.
“So, who was that weirdo? Why’d you go out of your way to tell me that my brother was in danger?”
So he knew this would happen to Kasuka? Whoever was on the other line, there was no good will in Shizuo’s relationship with them. All you can make out is the static opening and closing of vowels and consonants. However, a sound in the distance causes you to zero in on your surroundings. The longer you listen, the closer the sound gets, and the more it seems to line up with the static voice in Shizuo’s cellphone. Someone was coming--whoever was calling Shizuo was coming. Your eyes shift back to the man, who is thoroughly engrossed in the phone call.
“And he just happened to be in Ikebukuro, right? And he just happened to be in the area--just happened to have a knife? Bullshit.”
The man who had attacked Kasuka...did this person have something to do with it as well?
“You’re pretty sharp...you really are an animal.” The voices line up clearly, perfectly. So clear, the person could be standing right in front of you.
They are right in front of you. Shizuo’s head suddenly snaps in a different direction, eyes boring daggers. Following his gaze, your heart stops.
He somehow managed to look the same every time you saw him; wolfish grin and predatory eyes. Izaya returned Shizuo’s glare, taunting him. You suddenly feel as though you’re standing in the middle of an open warzone. Briefly, the image of a flying traffic sign comes to mind.
“You’re correct--I told him Yuuhei’s schedule. I figured that if your brother was in danger, you’d come.”
Suddenly, your ears are ringing with the alarms that went off in your head. The men’s mouths are moving--but you’re too preoccupied to focus on their words. Your brain was too busy calculating, crunching the numbers; trying to figure out what the heck is going on.
You’re not especially perceptive, and the previous absence of Izaya’s half of the conversation did not help; Even then, it didn't take a rocket scientist to figure it out.
That Izaya had purposely attempted to endanger Shizuo’s brother.
You ran so many scenarios through your head--rationalizing, justifying, searching through any possible defense, but there was really no spinning it. He knew someone wanted to kill Yuuhei. He gave them his location. He encouraged them to kill him.
What if Shizuo hadn’t been there? What if he had looked away and missed that split second that the man approached Kasuka? What if someone else had gotten hurt, or worse, killed?
Izaya would be responsible for it.
Izaya would be a murderer.
Said man moves abruptly, sharply. With a flick of his arm, he sends something shiny flying in Shizuo’s direction. You yelp, panic flooding your senses as the small blade shoots through the air. To your astonishment, the projectile is caught between Shizuo’s teeth, then promptly grinded into pieces. This was insane. It felt as though you had only blinked, and they were off--leaving you in a cloud of dust. You had never paid witness to one of their fights. The one time you got close, you ended up in a doctor’s apartment. You wonder if that’s why you’re still glued in place. Who's to say that you, or someone else, wouldn’t get hurt?
Perhaps Shizuo would take the care to watch out, but Izaya? It only now occurred to you what that man was capable of.
“Shizuo…? Are you still there?”
The juvenile voice momentarily distracts you from your own growing feeling of dread. If Shizuo was this preoccupied, there’s no way he’s going to remember to let Mairu and Kururi out. You sigh, returning to the door behind which they were enclosed. Leaning your entire body against the vending machine, you begin to push with all your might. To your surprise, it’s fairly light, scooting over with little effort. You pull open the door to reveal Mairu and Kururi, who shield their eyes from the sudden influx of light.
“(Y/N)! You saved us! That settles it, you’ve officially moved up on my list,” Mairu confidently flashes a thumbs up. Kururi silently nods.
You’re not sure you even want to be on that list. Ignoring their shenanigans, you take off in the same direction Shizuo had. You had a really bad feeling.
It’s easy to follow the two’s trail, considering the carnage they’ve left behind. However, after a certain point, everywhere is carnage--or more accurately, littered with relocated street signs. You’re finally able to find your way back to the crowd of civilians, but it’s evident that more people have joined the fray; Yellow Scarves to be exact.
Everything’s devolved into nonsense, honestly. Somehow, fists were pointed at each other, and a bunch of punks were brawling in the streets. It was causing enough mayhem to obscure the presence of Shizuo and Izaya. Narrowly dodging the flurries of limbs, you aimlessly search for at least one familiar face. Thoughts swirl through your head, straying into your central train and making it increasingly difficult to concentrate.
Anri and Mikado. Hey, looks like they’re on an outing together! How cute.
When did Celty get here?
Oh, there’s Mika. Wonder how she’s doing.
Angered shouting transforms into a confused panic. The multitudes of thugs fighting in the streets are...sinking? Squinting your eyes, you notice the black gunk collecting at their feet, pulling them downwards like quicksand. It was almost shadow-y, the way it misted and steamed. You swear you’ve seen it somewhere before…
Oh. Celty.
Silently thanking the headless woman, you take advantage of the sudden pause in action. With a clearer view of the area, you notice a path of dented buildings, leading further away from the heart of the crowd. Weaving your way through other onlookers, you scurry in that direction, fearful you may lose your path again.
It seems like every pedestrian was drawn to the commotion, clearing out the surrounding streets and walkways. Running down the empty sidewalk, the silence feels out of place following so much commotion. The only sound you can make out is someone else’s breathing, their brisk footfalls hammering against the pavement. The footfalls stop, outlived by the sound of panting.
Following the sound, you find yourself slipping into an alleyway between storefronts. Was someone hurt? Could it be…
Against your will, you’re already running all sorts of horrific scenarios. You brace yourself, poised to help and comfort whoever it could be that needed help--but when you rounded the corner, every protective instinct went out the window.
He didn’t deserve protecting, after all.

OKAY VOCACOLLE SUMMER TOP 15 SONGS (my ranking) LETS GOO
1. Kannagi - Hiiragi Magnetite: the lyrics on this are going to keep me occupied for the longest time until i understand it better. the atmosphere of this song is just incredible, the addition of the bells in her hand in the song, the light chime-y parts of the the instrumental, the piano, the longer notes, u dont need to know the lyrics to know theres a sense of regret in here. theres enough in the chimes u can feel the inner reflection in this, & like other series songs it hits that standing at the end of world in the rain feeling. its paced so perfectly it doesnt even feel like 6 minutes. series wise i think thats not only a call back to kyuuyaku but like shoushitsu & kyuuyaku it shows off that loop theme, getting into whats going on building it up, theres a bit of calm and then it picks up again. lots of story telling & details in it to add to the narrative. haru fits it so perfectly & that's definitely by design. this song has already embedded itself in my heart
2. Stockholm Office - Crump: if kannagi wasnt posted this would take first place EASILY IMMEDIATELY. i cant say in words how much i loved this so instantly. the light whispery-ness of kafu & the spacey-ness of certain instruments and parts combined with the heavy groundedness of the rest of it is so so perfect. the poetic way the lyrics show off the state of things in this song without being super blunt about the complaints in it & the overall rhythm of it draws me in so so much. they really matched the mood of the instrumentals & the lyrics so perfectly. its not spacey enough for me to say true dissociation type feel but theres such a strong feeling of disconnection in this, that feeling of lying to urself to stick something out which im sure is entirely intended given the title. im about to become the number one promoter of this song its one of those found it at the perfect timing things for me.
3. Candy Drop - yurame: this has the usual yurame song feel. i can only describe it as sounding how carbonation in drinks feels. its trendy sounding but at the same time is all its own thing and authentic feeling. the lyrics are written in a way its like ah yeah i get that feeling. despite the lightness of the instrumental its good at getting that melancholic feel across & isnt jarring in the slightest. flower has that mix of rough & cute to suit this as well. very good song.
4. Quiet - szri: szri's usual quick & heavy pacing definitely building off what they did in anaphylaxis. even includes the smallest part of it & u know i love songs that connect to each other. gekiyaku & kafu are such a good combination too especially how they pull it off. not a very light song in terms of content but fun nonetheless & isnt that what vocaloids about.
5. Euthanasia - Dopam!ne: a lighter/simpler song in terms of instrumentals that he does. nice change & still very distinctly his style. definitely not a light song in terms of content the guy even put a content disclaimer at the end. still easy to listen to if u like his style tho. good song
6. Waste - mairu: this ones probably about as heavy as szri's quiet musically speaking though theres a few calmer sections. flower's roughness fits the topic well i think. another one where the mood of every part of the song just seems to align well. i dont have anything profound to say i just think its neat
7. OSINT - Sheeno Mirin: i love the atmosphere in sheeno mirin songs a lot & this one doesnt disappoint. interesting vocal combination choice not that they overlap in any part & they work well with what they were going for. theres something brain scratching (in a good way) about the instrumental, a full sound thats got a weight to it but isnt too much. its really good idk what else to say
8. groom groove - yowanecity: i feel like its been forever since ive seen anything from yowanecity i really should follow them anyway i got really excited to see they posted & this didn't disappoint. its got that bounciness i expect from their songs. fun & smooth sounding. makes u want to dance. definitely worth your time.
9. Capsule - Fuyuu: cat rime & sekai thats so fun i love that and then the gachpon theme on top of it so fun. the sound is not what you'd expect from that description tho. it has a darker feel to it almost grungy i want to say but definitely not off putting. as part of the rime lover nation i love this song. this is going to end up stuck in my head all the time just like crow crow does. very good & both sekai & rime sound like they belong in this song 👍
10. Gambit - Yunosuke: another trendy, almost bubbly sounding song from yunosuke. pretty atmosphere to it. love the whistles & traditional sound instruments mixed in with the otherwise modern electric type sound its got going on. this would be fun to sing if i take the time to learn the lyrics. super good very worth your time
11. Rain - Gomennasai ga ienakute: the usual simple sounding style they have, deceivingly simple sounding bc its very clearly not. the tension building part right before the 3 min mark hits me in particular. very cool rin high notes at the end. very nice melancholic mood to it. maybe i should rank this higher its growing on me the more i listen to it. their lyric sense is very good. compels me. definitely give this a listen.
12. Static Love - Hagino: kafu rap nation rise up. its got that chiptune sound at first that gradually gives into a more modern edm sound. a good mix of cute, cool, and fun sounding. underrated the mixing & execution of this is too good to only have a few hundred views & yet here we are. worth your time
13. Prototype - Aira: THIS SONG GOES SO HARD!! coko chisei is such a good combo too. interesting theme going on here but the melody & such is just very good. the lalala parts make it seem a little lighter than it actually is. love the slightly wavering slightly squeaky sound on both vocals. lends a certain charm to this song.
14. Lewder Liar - Zensen: another great electro swing song from zensen. very fun fresh sounding instrumentals & flower's in no way out of place here. good mix. kind of an interesting theme going on here what with the demon stuff etc.
15. Death Game - Uron Riyu: this one is so fun to me. kafu running a death game. posting this as a vocacolle song feels like its framing vocacolle itself as a death game between songs & thats such an interesting way to look at it. kinda fun. the composition on its fun in its own way too. ik it's supposed to be dark but its just a fun song to me.

OK HIEEEE
Tumblr media
tags from @facelessmaniac on their AMAZING art of Kotetsu
Her favorite dinosaur is the Velociraptor and her favorite color is is the muted purplish red her favorite juice is white grape juice she loves rabbits and desperately wants a pet rabbit but the answer is NO (at least until she hits 12 then shizuo surprises her anyway despite izaya still maintaining a solid 'no' on the subject) She does inherit Shizuo's strength and SOME of his temper, but she's much better at managing frustration (this is actually THANKS to shizuo and also izaya)
Oh also just in case I need to be very clear, my Izaya is ALWAYS ftm-nonbinary, I flip flop on Shizuo every so often but he is also always some flavor of trans in my head. In this particular one he's nonbinary but has a full time job so he's not worried about all that rn yfm
I don't want to clog the entire dash so I'll throw the rest under the cut :3
The CoParenting with Izaya Orihara au completely overturns the spin off series BUT I named it this particular way because of the spin offs. I wanted it to have a similar vibe but an obviously different timeline!
I did a little bit of number crunching based off of Izaya's stabbing, since I'm pretty sure it's the last solid date we get in the main series. So if we assume that Izaya on or around his birthday hooked up with Shizuo at some point and then later got stabbed. Hospital, and then into Ketsu and the final curtain arc.
I'M ALSO slowly but surely chipping away at a fic for this, fine details and all that, as it's been slowly gaining interest since I started doodling it every so often. :3
oh oh bonus! I had help deciding on her name from a friend of mine on twitter! (check out his merch and etsy store btw for shizaya stuff!!!!)
Orihara Kotetsu / 折原 虎鉄 虎 - tiger 鉄 -iron/blades
we were chatting about it and tbqh I fell in LOVE with this particular suggestion from him
Tumblr media
Anyway, by the time the final curtain arc happens and Izaya wakes up out of Tokyo he'd find out he's being given the option to move forward or terminate the initial pregnancy, he'd be about 6-8 weeks in, give or take an extra week. This would be the earliest possible sign, and truthfully despite all of the bodily trauma it's early enough on that it could really go either way for him if he decides to move forward.
Which, he does. Inexplicably. As in he can't really say for himself why he decides to keep her, something something "I can do it right this time" maybe. (snippet from the co-parenting fic draft)
Tumblr media
In the fic I'm hinting at the beginnings of Sunset HOWEVER, the events change and ultimately he and Sozoro move into a more underground role in his work. i really wanted to work himari and haruto into this au but I have a slightly different one where instead he and shizuo coparent THEM instead of Izaya having Kotetsu so don't worry there's more than one! in fact, the initial beginnings of sunset are what instead implore him to start reaching out to shizuo (albeit anonymously) about their daughter
Over the course of each trimester he sends Shizuo physical copies of ultrasounds yada yada, all anonymously as well. He still has that PTSD response, and he's still in a wheel chair. The final fight was a lot for him, it will always be a lot for him. But fuck he can't keep this child from Shizuo forever. he doesn't want to. In a perfect world this all went so differently.
But then she's born! and she's beautiful and Izaya knows that Shizuo's hair isn't naturally blond but it's not until he's holding her and he realizes "oh he's not blonde. I've never seen his natural hair before." and when Kotetsu's hair starts growing Izaya wonders if she got Shizuo's natural hair color, it's lighter than Mairu and Kururi's hair. It's just him and Sozoro and this baby and then Nec comes into the picture as a sort of secretary (this will be detailed in the fic)
Izaya continues to send Shizuo anonymous updates, the day she's born he sends one of those "congrats you're the father!" type cards something something Shizuo has started to look for them himself at this point.
EVENTUALLY he finds a way to contact Izaya back, and Kotetsu is roughly 6 months old when he finally does, to which Izaya concedes and reveals a location but remember he's still dealing with his trauma both physical and mental from the final fight. he's a bit better off and can walk a bit but still largely needs his chair if they're going out of the house. it will be good for kotetsu's other father to be in the picture!
They do not get together right away, tbh. It's probably the second slowest of burns I'm writing, but I can't smash them together like barbies in this like i'd like. In actuality Shizuo is not able to get close to Izaya at all, Izaya can't even look at him while he's wearing the bartender uniform. He needs to stay completely out of arms reach of Shizuo in order to have a conversation with him for the first few months. The closest they get is when Shizuo passes Kotetsu over to him before stepping back to make him feel safer.
It's really uh HARD and very hurt/comfort of me, but it is a slow burn where Izaya does pursue physical therapy if only for the sake of his daughter and finally they settle somewhere outside of Tokyo. Shizuo is not willing to leave his daughter behind so he stays nearby, eventually just moving in and slowly. Very slowly they get to a point where they are softly together.
Kotetsu inherits Shizuo's strength around 7/8 years old. Literally only finding out because they're trying to go somewhere and she's looking for her bunny stuffy (Mr. Usagi, btw. He's the first gift Shizuo was able to give her)
this is an unfinished comic of the moment
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
eventually izaya is at a point where he can use his cane more than the chair but there are still bad days where he needs his chair, so they never really get rid of it.
oof this has gotten so so sosososososososososo long and now I'm feeling shy again BUT please feel free to ask any and all questions about this particular au it's in my top 3 favorites of ones I've made. (the other 2 are pet sematary/see you on the other side + saika possession which I have mainly imagined in my noggin if ur curious)
I'm also still working on compiling things and making ACTUAL reference sheets for some of my characters + aus so that they're a little easier to find and read up on :')
Thank u everyone for ur interest in Coparenting with Izaya Orihara its uh...really personal to me specifically and definitely the closest one to my heart.
further art of her and some little comics can be found HERE on my art blog and my asks are open here and on my art blog if anyone has any questions :)!
Going to yap Abt kotetsu & co-parenting au today so watch out

Wow @glmfic it’s been a while but so happy for the updated chapter! I was inspired to draw some more Mai in her festival dresses. I really do want to eventually draw them all. Just out of curiosity do you have a favorite?
It’s a WIP because work is crazy right now, but I wanted you to know that people are still enjoying your content and are being inspired by it despite the long wait :)
Here’s the link for anyone who wants great ghost hunt content in 2022.

What do you think makes Izaya who he is?
Tumblr media
my fave character of ever.. i actually moved cities a little bit ago and i didn't bring my novels with me, so i don't have direct quotes, but i will try my best to remember which novels stated what
I think there are five major things that influence Izaya's personality:
1. His parents were neglectful, which meant he had to essentially raise both himself and his sisters. It went about as well as you'd expect it to, and Izaya carries guilt over how his sisters turned out. He never got the support he wanted from his family, and he's pretty good at hiding how that's affected him, but there was an interesting scene at the end of... volume 9? Where Mairu and Kururi say that they'd be just a little sad if he died, and Izaya says something along the lines of "for once, you guys are saying things that make me happy to hear instead of your usual greeting of telling me to die".
2. Building on that, Izaya doesn't really know how to interact with people in general. A large reason is because he is actually just... really fucking weird. He likes to project this image of him being a diabolical mastermind who has everything under control, but that's far from true. He's charismatic enough to trick people into thinking that, but it's actually really easy to deal with Izaya. Just tell him he's full of shit lmao. Shinra says that he's a grown man who never grew out of the "middle schooler playing make-believe" mentality, and I don't think there's a better way to put it than that.
3. He's got a huge fear of death. Between meeting up with suicidal people to understand how the hell someone can actively want death, his "forever young" mindset, and trying to wake up Celty's head because he wants to know if there's an afterlife, death is something he fears greatly and his quest to find some kind of answer or sense of peace with the idea of death really motivates his actions throughout the novels.
4. The man drowns in self-loathing. Tsukumoya heavily implies that Izaya doesn't like himself, and there's plenty of moments in the novel that confirm that. He's a really lonely person, becoming upset when he doesn't get invited to parties, and hates holidays because he's jealous that everyone else has someone to spend it with. Of course, this loneliness is largely his own fault because again, he's a fucking freak. He is actively antagonistic and pushes people away because he's too scared to get hurt, probably going back to point 1 about him never having a proper support system. But of course, when you act like that, no one is gonna want to talk to you!!
It doesn't help that the ones Izaya considers "monsters" have a healthy and and thriving social life. If the monsters are able to have friends and Izaya isn't, then what does that make Izaya?
5. Alright, the biggest event that shaped Izaya's personality. Shinra's stabbing. Izaya may have been a weird kid, but that's nothing compared to whatever the hell Shinra was on. Izaya envied Shinra and tried to emulate him in a lot of ways, including adopting Shinra's twisted definition of "love".
When Shinra got stabbed, all Izaya wanted was to make Nakura pay. He had no idea that the school would sweep the stabbing incident under the rug. He very easily could have been expelled, and forced to become a dropout. Instead, he instinctively pushed through with this insane plan to take the fall for Nakura, and in exchange, make Nakura’s life a living hell and spend every day regretting what he did.
Like ?? What the fuck!! What kind of child does this!!
It's Izaya's one-sided friendship with Shinra that gives us the biggest glimpse into his true personality. Izaya can be very loyal and selfless to people he cares about. Izaya pretended to not care about Shinra’s condition after Adabashi attacked him, but only as “payback” for how coldly Shinra treated him after he was stabbed. Izaya couldn’t help but still care for Shinra, using Ran and Mikage to knock out Adabashi, break his leg, and bring him back to Izaya’s apartment, where he remained imprisoned for days.
But Izaya also really fucking sucks. His intentional detachment from everyone else also means that he has no real sense of empathy and he doesn't care about how his actions affect others.
He's really delusional, never coming to accept the fact that Shinra is not a friend of his. Shinra treated Izaya as a stepping stone to get closer to Celty, and I think Izaya knew that deep down but never wanted to admit it. He sadly comes to the conclusion that Shinra can't be considered his "best friend" anymore after he gets stabbed, to which Mikage points out that Shinra can't be considered a friend at all.
I think ultimately, Izaya is just the product of a bad environment and extremely self-destructive behaviors. He's certainly not the most morally bankrupt character in the series, but there is a lot wrong with him.

thank you all so much!
Writing my fanfic Momentary Peace has been deeply beautiful and cathartic to me. I wish I could write it forever, and since it’s doing so well I just might carry it on as long as it’s well received.
I feel like as an individual with various mental health problems, that writing Izaya and Mairu as mentally ill in my fanfiction, allows me to educate people in a softened way, something that is true and honest and not as awkward as a medical textbook, something friendly and hopefully comforting in those who see aspects of the characters in themselves. Whether you have diagnosis in common, or no diagnosis at all, it doesn’t matter. If Izaya’s sadness, Mairu’s unhealthy habits, or Shizuo’s shame over his temper feel relatable, then my story is for you, written with compassion and empathy and hope from me to you :)

Beauty and the Beast Shizaya/Izuo AU
Beauty/Belle = Shizuo
The Beast = Izaya
Summary:
Once upon a time there was a young, cold, cunning and cruel prince who loved to mess with his people by putting them in uncomfortable situations and giving them uncomfortable tasks for his own entertainment. Many years his people prayed for retribution or some form of mercy from the Prince, Izaya. Until one night a Fae simply calling herself Celty overheard the people’s cries and decided to cast judgement onto Prince Izaya. She took the form of a poor and old beggar and went to the castle. She pleads for some food, unfortunately Prince Izaya was bored and wanted something to entertain him so he mocked the disguised Fae and threw a bag of food out on the ground from the window at the beggar’s feet to see her reaction. Enraged by his disrespect, Celty took off her disguise however either from stubbornness or recklessness or stupidity Izaya double down on his actions which made Celty believe there is no hope for this Prince, and she cursed him and his entire family to die in the most painful way. Hearing this Izaya begged mercy not for himself but his two younger sisters. Hearing this gave Celty some hesitation and so she changed the curse slightly. “You shall be cursed into a silent and unnerving beast, horrifying to the human eye, if you can change for the better and extend this selflessness of yours to others you will be free from this curse until then your sisters will fall into a deep slumber and your servants into everyday items.” With that Izaya was given an enchanting glass/crystal rose, on his 21st birthday the rose will bloom and slowly wilter, if it fully dies he shall forever remain the hideous beast, his sisters remain asleep and his servants remain as household items.
Shizuo: alienated by the village for his unsual behaviour, personality, attitude towards certain people and unimaginable strength. The alienation and attitude from the town manifested a short temper within him which only isolate him even more from the towns folk. He’s called the Beautiful Monster though.
Izaya: after years of isolation and unable to communicate made him a bit more unhinged and some days apathetic however he still deeply cares for his sisters and feels guilty for what happened to them and his servants. His guilt manifest into self-harming, self-sabotaging and self-destructive behaviours
Old art like very very old art:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Some scene ideas:
Shizuo finds the slumbering twins’ room which sends Izaya into a paranoid panic and the servants has to explain things to Shizuo
Shizuo was attacked by a pack of wolves in the blizzard and was saved by Izaya, unfortunately Shizuo looked horrendous and for once Izaya felt guilt for a stranger
Izaya is desperate to talk to Shizuo so Izaya tries to stab his face hoping to carve out a mouth (his blood in beast form is blacken red) and Shizuo seeing this immediately stop him forcefully while begging him to stop hurting himself and then both embrace each other while sobbing
At the end, Izaya turns back into his human form and Shizuo’s face goes completely red and yells at Izaya “HOW ARE YOU SO PRETTY?!” Which makes Izaya bursts out laughing and saying “dumbass, I love you”
Izaya getting his human form back rushes to greet his sisters so they wouldn’t be scared when they wake up and Shizuo follows behind
When Kururi and Mairu just woke up they were hug tackled by a very excited and happy Izaya
Shizuo later on explains everything to them (Izaya sometimes interjects) while Izaya is too busy snuggling with them

“I think I just ripped my pants.” You know for what ;)
I did this instead of studying for my test, Ayo I hope you’re happy. Lmao but for real though this plot went into a completely different direction than I initially planned and I’m surprised it still somewhat worked, and sorry for any ooc-ness bc holy shit are they ooc af
(Pairing: Shizaya)
(Warnings: Alpha/Beta/Omega trope, at Ayo’s request, and implied sexual content) (Also also they’re both over 18 in this btw so don’t come for me, FBI)
Some Kind of Disaster
It wasn’t like he didn’t know everyone at school had been eyeing him all day but more so the fact that if he did anything about it, it would do nothing but bring more attention onto himself. It would’ve been just another normal day, walking into school like he owned the place with everyone thinking that he was just another alpha or beta, (thanks to those pills that Shinra keeps hooking him up with), but ever since he got mated… Well, that had been an entirely different story.
Shinra was the first to know, obviously, because he was Shinra, and while he’s glad that he won’t be dying of heat, out of all things, any time in the foreseeable future, there had been another issue of him now constantly having the scent of his alpha draped over him like an oversized blanket on a winter’s day - heavy enough so that he always knows it’s there, but also warm and comforting enough that even someone like him would feel protected in even the worst situations. It would wear off, Shinra had said, but until then, the only other option to hide the fact that they’d mated would be to go everywhere together, which considering the fact that they had the same class and sat next to each other (it took a lot of convincing for the teacher to believe that they won’t break another classroom with a stray knife or another chair out the window), seemed like an all to perfect plan.
Up until the day Shizuo woke up and received a message from Izaya saying that he couldn’t walk him to school that day, thanks to Mairu suddenly developing a high fever early in the morning, and who would’ve thought that someone like Shizuo, strength and all, would ever need to be this dependent on his alpha for anything? He called him immediately.
“I’m sorry, Shizu-chan,” he heard Izaya’s exhausted voice try to keep afloat amongst the barrage of noise caused by the crowds, medical staff and machinery in the background. “I really am, but I can’t leave her on her own until my parents get here.”
“People are going to notice,” Shizuo said, protested, and he did feel bad about Mairu being sick, it’s just that the fact that people were not only going to find out that Shizuo had been mated, but would also simultaneously deduce the alpha that he did the deed with to be Izaya.
Shizuo had enough of a headache building up on the side of his head without the extra attention adding onto it.
“And I already told you I can’t,” Izaya snapped at him, harsh with an edge of a growl to it, and Shizuo couldn’t help the little shiver that went up his spine when he heard it. It wasn’t often that Izaya let his second gender override the cool, collected persona he’s established over the course of ten somewhat odd years. Izaya quickly backtracked, “Sorry, I didn’t- I didn’t mean to. It’s been a long night.”
“Don’t worry about it,” Shizuo said, running a hand through his hair in frustration. Kasuka eyed him curiously over the back of the sofa. “Do you think I can just pretend to be wearing your clothes or something?” he asked, somewhat hopefully. “Like I’ll just say some bullshit excuse in front of people like ‘oh, I think I just ripped my pants’, and pretend to go change?”
“You know that’s not going to work,” Izaya huffed a sigh. “You know how strong the scent is now, there’s no way anyone would believe you if you said you haven’t mated.”
He was right, and Shizuo knew he was right. He knew that they were going to have to tell people one day, it’s just that Shizuo had intended for that day to be sometime after they'd graduated. It was only three months away after all, it wouldn’t be too long if they were to hold out and suppress their instincts for a mere three weeks, each time either one of them went into a rut or a heat, but of course the universe just didn’t work like that and in some sort of half-coherent daze one day, they went and did it, overpowered by sheer instinct and too enamoured with each other to realise what was going on until it was too late.
“What’s this really about?” Izaya asked, suddenly, and it took Shizuo a moment to realise what Izaya had said.
“What do you mean?” Shizuo asked in return.
“I know you’re my omega and all and that you’re meant to be really submissive or whatever normally,” Shizuo cringed at the choice of words as Izaya continued, “But this isn't like you. You don’t need some tough guy alpha around if you could just punch some guy into the stratosphere if he did so much as look you the wrong way. Why are you so afraid of people finding out about this? Is it-” Izaya paused, cutting himself off so abruptly that Shizuo thought he lost connection for a second, and then softer, “Is it because you regret mating with me?”
“No,” Shizuo responded immediately. “No way in hell would I ever regret it. I- I want to be with you forever, Izaya, and one day, I want to… bear your…” he heard Izaya stifle a laugh, the quieter he got, the more embarrassed he felt, so he feigned a cough and tried to ignore the heat spreading across his face. “It’s just that it’s hard enough being an omega and, you know, doing the things I do… and it took awhile for people to get used to that, I don’t want to get more attention to myself when people are just starting to get used to me.”
“I never knew monsters like you could have an identity crisis,” Izaya teased. Shizuo rolled his eyes, knowing that this was Izaya’s attempt at being endearing. “An omega having that brute strength of yours is unheard of, you’re right, but if people could get over that and accept it as another reality,” Izaya paused. “Then what’s so hard to believe that that same omega - any omega, would end up finding an alpha they’re really compatible with to mate with?”
“Yeah, but that’s… well-” he started.
Izaya cut him off, “Like I said earlier, you’re Shizuo Heiwajima, the most feared high schooler in Raijin, the city, even. I’m happy to be there for you every step of the way I can until you get that fact ingrained through that thick, protozoan skull of yours.”
Shizuo probably should’ve felt insulted, but the only thing he felt was his heart skip a beat, and while biologically impossible (especially since his last one was just a couple of days ago), he wondered if this alone would send him into some sort of heat, out of sheer heartwarming affection-
“But right now you just have to grow a pair and get it over with, like come on, you’re old enough to not need your hand held every time you go to school,” as Izaya completely ruined the moment once more.
He figured it was too good to be true.
“Okay, fine,” Shizuo huffed, and finally picked up his bag. “But you better still come to school today or I’ll kick your ass.”
Izaya laughed, and the way it carried over the slightly muffly phone with just a hint of exhaustion reminded Shizuo of the morning after they woke up from a night they’ll never forget.
“I will,” Izaya said. Then, tauntingly, “I mean who else is going to protect my cute little omega from all those mean bullies?”
“I thought you said I could learn to grow a pair for once,” Shizuo said, a hint of a smile on his face now as Kasuka pulled on his school shoes at the doorstep.
“Yeah, I supposed I did,” Izaya said, and he could hear the smile in his voice, too. “Give them hell, Shizu-chan.”

Not sure if I did post Yokai AU Kay
She’s gonna be a reborned sealmaster miko. Blessed by past for being a minor god who has been a contributor of the creating lands/oceans.
In which she forever must conceal her eyes to keep her eyes in belief of gods and blessings of her gift.
The only one who could see her eyes is god and her suppose partner/Familiars, love partner after marriage.
She has been born to the family with caring parents and lovely brother Haru Mairu. She has been guided the activities to a shrine, before the great fire emplored lives of many. Her mother a regular miko, who married her father has been a generational sealmaster with a familiar of a small spirit. He was supposed to pass his task to his son. But Mairu was born fragile and enlisted with weak traits of spiritual aura compared to Kay. So in which she must balance her task and duties to the gods and shrine. She hasn’t been able to obtain a familiar like her father. Someday she will.
The fire burned everything, everyone she loved.
She had to run, all the screams, cries and burning. Fate tied the road of her journey to meet Ranpo the boy accused of the fire. The sight of god told her to become his companion. As Ranpo became a deity, with a past miko and her skills as a sealmaster. The teaching of life as his role as Deity began.

Questioning | Part 1
To: @vzyfny
From: @samantha-girlscout
Hello! I had quite a bit of fun writing this. Originally I had planned for this to be about a Mairu trip in the fall… But then the story went in a completely different direction. It’s not often that I let my muse wander this much, but I hope that you’ll enjoy the path that it has led me on.
“Hi, Boss,” Yasuhara said as he walked into the office, a bright smile on his face as he waved at Mai. “How are things going today?”
“Oh, busy as always,” Mai said with a roll of her eyes as she gestured to the pile of paperwork on her desk that was carefully organized to hide her homework. “What are you doing here? Isn’t today your day off?”
“Can’t I come in just to say hello to my favorite people?”
“Last I heard your days off were ‘treasures that you wouldn’t squander if your life depended on it’. Unless you decided to give up your partying ways…”
“Hey! I’ll have you know I’m a great college student. I only go to parties once in a while and every other moment I have is devoted to homework.”
Mai hummed. “And I’m sure your latest post about, what was it, the wonders of Shots Sat—”
Yasuhara promptly covered Mai’s mouth as he looked around the office to see if anyone had heard her. As per usual, neither Lin nor Naru were anywhere to be seen in the main area, but there was no telling who was listening in.
“Now, now, now. No need to talk about that kind of stuff while we’re at the office. Wouldn’t want anyone to get the idea that I’m anything but a hard worker.”
Mai pried his hand off of her mouth. “You do realize that everyone follows you right? Like Naru probably doesn’t really pay much attention, but I’m pretty sure that everyone has seen what you do on the weekends.”
“Yeah, well, there’s no reason to spur anyone stalking more than they already do.” Yasuhara shook his head. “Besides, don’t act like I’m the only one who will be posting loads of pictures this weekend.”
Mai squeaked at the wink Yasuhara sent her way.
“What on earth do you mean by that?”
“Oh, I don’t know, I’m just pretty sure that I remember you talking about how your class trip is this weekend.”
“And?”
“And, as your elder, I remember how raucous my own class trip was! It seems just like yesterday that I and the other young lads snuck off to go find—”
“You say that like you didn’t go on your class trip just last year! And, b-besides! I’d never do anything as scandalous as what you’re pretending that you did.”
“Pretending? I’ll have you know that my compatriots and I barely returned to the onsen that we were staying at unscathed. If we had returned a moment later, then surely I would not be standing here today.”
“Yeah, sure, sure.” Mai looked up at the wall clock and gasped. “Oh no! I promised Naru and Lin I’d make tea nearly half an hour ago!”
Before Yasuhara could say another word, Mai rushed to the office’s kitchenette. It was a wonder she didn’t knock something over in her rush, there were certainly enough knick knacks on the table that she bumped into on the way, but somehow everything miraculously stayed on the table. Yasuhara laughed to himself as he followed his friend at a much more relaxed pace.
“Do you want any, Yasu?”
“If you wouldn’t mind, Boss.”
Mai stuck out her tongue. “You know I’m not your boss.”
“Perhaps, but you still out-rank me at work.”
A blush sent Mai scouring the cupboards for various tea bags.
“I thought we talked about not worrying about that. Besides we’re equal in the office, so don’t start with me.”
“I personally don’t think that you give yourself credit, but whatever you say Boss.”
Mai sent him a glare as the tea kettle started whistling. She went about the process of brewing the tea and, in the meantime a comfortable silence settled over them. Yasuhara watched, contentedly, as his friend went about brewing the tea in the way that each of them liked. Earl Grey for Naru, black with two sugars for Yasuhara, oolong for Lin, and green with a touch of honey for herself.
“I can take Big Boss’s to him,” he offered. “I have to talk to him about a few scheduling things anyways.”
“Okay.” Mai placed the two tea cups on a tray and passed it to him. “Be careful. He’s in a pretty bad mood today.”
“Any reason why?”
“I think he had a bad phone call? I don’t quite know. He hasn’t really left his office today.”
“Alright, I’ll make sure not to poke the bear too much. Thanks for the tea, Mai.”
“Any time,” she laughed as she made her way to the equipment room.
Yasuhara watched her walk away for a short time, lost in thought. He knew that Mai was a pretty private person, but he silently hoped that she would post quite a bit this weekend in order to keep himself occupied. Sure he could do homework or watch a show, but it always entertained him when they did.
“Is there a reason you’re just standing there with my tea?”
Yasuhara shook his head to clear it before plastering an overly wide smile on his face before addressing his superior who was standing in the doorway of his office.
“Hello, Big Boss! You have perfect timing. I was just about to bring you a cup of tea!”
Naru cocked an eyebrow. “You do realize that you don’t work today, correct?”
“Yes, but I needed to come in and talk to you about something really quick so I thought I’d save Boss the trip to your office.”
“I see.” Naru turned around and re-entered his office. Yasuhara followed suit soon after and carefully closed the door behind himself. He offered the tray and Naru took his cup and made his way to his desk. He gestured to the chair across from himself and Yasuhara was quick to sit as well.
“I’m not sure exactly how much I can work anymore.” Yasuhara took a sip of tea and found it as wonderful as always. It helped to calm some of the nerves he had been feeling while on his way over.
“Is there any particular reason?”
“As I mentioned a while ago, my grandmother’s health has been waning these past few years. She had been doing a little better lately, but then she fell this past week. She was living alone, but it sounds like my parents are going to insist that she move in with us. While my mom has been staying at home most of the time, she wants to work a part-time job to help save up for a larger house. Most of the jobs that she has found are in the afternoon and since my father works days most of the time it seems that there would be a window of time where there would be no one at home to assist my grandmother. That is unless I take a break from working here.”
“I’m sorry to hear that. Do you think that you would be unable to join us for cases as well?”
“Probably for the first few months, yes. After she’s healed some and is more settled I imagine that I could join on cases again. It would just depend on my parent’s schedules and if they feel comfortable leaving her alone with my younger sister.”
Naru took a sip of tea. “Will you be looking for another part-time job to cover your academic expenses?”
Yasuhara winced. He’d been avoiding the subject ever since he had realized how impossible the task would be now that he was without any income. He would probably be able to cover tuition for the next few months, but his meager savings account wouldn’t be able to last forever. And with his parents now having to take on his grandmother, there was no way that they would be able to afford to help him outside of what they were already doing.
“Probably, though I’m not sure I’ll find one that would have the right schedule.”
“I see.”
They sat in silence for a while before Naru set down his teacup, stood from his desk, and went to one of his bookcases. He ran a hand over the books, lost in thought. After a few moments he turned around purposefully and pulled out a large stack of heavily marked up papers from his briefcase and set them on the desk.
“How good is your written English?”
“Pretty good. It probably isn’t as good as someone like yours, but I did excel in it during secondary school, and I am currently minoring in it.”
Naru nodded as he parted the stack of papers to an unmarked page. “The final draft of my next article is due to the publisher in about three months. I’ve found it difficult to devote my time to editing it. If you are interested, you could edit what is left in the next two months.”
Yasuhara gaped at Naru.
“Of course, I would pay you for your trouble. All I would need is for you to document the time that you spend on it just as you would while researching for a case.” He picked up the page and offered it to Yasuhara. “Do you think that you would be able to edit this?”
Yasuhara took the page and carefully read it. It was somewhat confusing since it was in the middle of a passage, but he was able to read it rather well. It wasn’t much more difficult than Naru’s previous book, and there weren’t too many grammatical errors that he could see, but there were a few technical words that took him a moment to understand.
“I believe so. It make take me a bit of time, but I imagine that it wouldn’t be too difficult.”
Naru took the paper back and replaced it on the top of the stack. He then carefully put the rest of the stack back on top and then replaced it in his briefcase. “I imagine that there will be quite a bit of information that will be somewhat foreign to you, but most of my research is in this briefcase. I can make copies of all the relevant information should you need to refer back to it.”
“Thank you.”
Naru paused. “You’re welcome. Though I believe that I should thank you instead. I can now focus on upcoming cases instead of wasting my time trivializing over adverbs and epithets.
“I cannot send it with you right now, but I have your address and will be able to drop it off sometime in the next few days. Is there a particular time that you would be available?”
“I should be free around this time every day.”
“Great. I will stop by tomorrow.” With a short nod Naru stood. “If you’ll excuse me.”
Without any further comment Naru left the office, briefcase in hand. Yasuhara watched after him as he left the room. He wasn’t sure exactly what had spurred his boss’ sudden act of kindness, but he certainly wasn’t going to question it too much.

shizaya for the ship ask!!
this is SO OLD, ANON IM SORRY This is why I dont get asks…anyway, THANK YOU SO MUCH, I LOVE SHIZAYA
Gives nose/forehead kisses
SHIZUO OBVS. He just likes to take Izaya off guard and randomly kiss him; specially when he´s working.
Izaya will freeze  and frown to him, but he secretly loves it.
Gets jealous the most
Izaya. Shizuo is very oblivious about everything, except when people/clients have the guts to flirth with Izaya in front of him.
But due to Shizuo´s popularity Izaya is pretty jelaous but he hides is so well because no one have to know he has a weakness, not even Shizuo himself.
Picks the other up from the bar when they’re too drunk to drive
Both of them.
1) When Izaya is too drunk to function Shizuo usually picks him up and carries him over his shoulder as if he was a sack of potatoes He likes it when Izaya tries to flirt with him while drunk and failes so much. The informant is such a light weight.
2) When Shizuo is too drunk to fuction the first person ANYONE calls is Izaya. Because no one, NO ONE dares to get cloase to him drunk (or even sober). Izaya has his ways to tame the beast and have so much fun the way back petting and playing with Shizuo. He even picks him up in his clients cars beacuse why not.
3) When they both are just too drunk they somehow get lure to Simon´s sushi shop so now they´re his problem now. or take pictures that somehow get to Celty (and Tom)
Takes care of on sick days
Both of them. Since both Izaya and Shizuo are big brothers they´re used to take care of their younger siblings~ But each other have their ways of doing it.
Shizuo is more carefull and dotes Izaya with food and pampering ╰(*´︶`*)╯♡; While Izaya is all “take your medicines” but constantly checks up on you that he himself gets sicks later on.
Drags the other person out into the water on beach day
Shizuo to Izaya because “you´re too damn pale”. Izaya get really bad sunburn later and if it´s a bad day, gets stung by jellyfish
Gives unprompted massages
Izaya. Shizuo is too afraid of it, although Izaya tells him he wants some.
Drives/rides shotgun
IZAYA.
Brings the other lunch at work
Since Izaya works from home, he usually makes time to prepare meals and tracks Shizuo down to give it to him
Shizuo is surprised everytime and Tom is creeped out because he hasn´t realize that Izaya basically monitors him 24/7 (also is a little bit angry that only Shizuo have nice bento´s everyday)
Occasionally Shizuo will pop up in Izaya´s office with some lunch.
Has the better parental relationship
Shizuo maybe? probably, yes.
Tries to start role-playing in bed
Izaya, and Shizuo is SO TIRED, CAN´T WE JUST FUCK AND CALLED IT A DAY? but when Shizuo tries hard enough is really great or just really really funny he ends up flustered and angered, and Izaya just sleeps in the couch that night.
Embarrassingly drunk dancer
Izaya. Shizuo is and forever will be a big tree.
Still cries watching Titanic
Neither of them
Firmly believes in couples costumes
Izaya. Shizuo goes along because is something he liked to do with Kasuka.
Izaya is ALL IN since he used to do this elaborated costumbes of him and the twins.
Breaks the expensive gift rule during Christmas
IZAYA. DUH.
But Shizuo beats him up with any-othe-day-gifts that are so great Izaya thinks he dosen´t deserved to be loved this much.
Makes the other eat breakfast
Shizuo, mostly because Izaya has always been so damn skinny and he knows how often he skips meals and fulls his mouth with Ootoro.
Remembers anniversaries
both of them because THEY´RE SO IN LOVE ( ˘⌣˘)♡(˘⌣˘ )
Also Mairu and Kururi pester Izaya days before their anniversary cuz they want to know what Izaya has prepare for him (he always goes over the top, while Shizuo´s gift/gesture are very simple and on point that make Izaya think ´thats perfect, how I didn´t think of it before´)
Brings up having kids
Neither of them.
Izaya dosen´t want to have kids because his line of work and because well, he knows he´s not suited to be a parent. But he always catch´s Shizuo watching kids playing at the park, and families going hand to hand in the street that his heart goes all mushy and well… he would be willing to say yes if Shizuo suggested it.

Ryoma’s skill trigger quotes in English and Japanese. View the image description for my attempt at translation. (man, Ryoma sounds a lot more angry in English lol)
Most the quotes are same as in Fates. “For the Glory of Hoshido” was taken out ‘cause I guess it doesn’t make sense in the context.. but it’s one of my fave things he says lol
(the screenshots are all from enemy Ryoma in 6-5, because I don’t have this beautiful lobster yet and I probably never will, the chances of getting him is so low /cries forever I spent like 30min getting Ryoma to whack at my Robin/Arthur while Lissa stood behind them to heal lol)
