i am SO hyped for new world of steam. not even bc Layton’s back, but because i am literally dying to actually analyse and compare the differences between LS and NWOS of Luke calling for Layton’s help. level 5 you should give me the game early so i can be So Normal
#anyone noticed how whenever it’s Luke . Layton always comes running. i hate codependent friendships so MUCHH (lie)#their friendship makes me sick#and like i KNOWWW Layton is technically answering Clark’s call to help in LS bc it’s sent under Clark’s name#but that itself is an endlessly amazing point of comparison#in LS. Luke is hiding away from the world. He wants to help but he’s scared and he doesn’t even know if he can trust his own dad#he’s desperate to help more than he is already. he takes a leap of faith and decides to call for Layton’s help#but he doesn’t know if he can trust the man even if he wants to. so he hides himself and sends under his dad’s name#perhaps he doesn’t know if Layton would take a call from him seriously. it could just be that#But Luke is a very scared young boy in a place where again. HE CANT TRUST HIS OWN DAD. He doesn’t know if he can trust this stranger#esp since this stranger was a friend of his dad’s. but he knows they were close and that this man would come running#so. good play Luke. but compare that to NWOS#now we don’t know much about the letter or why Luke sends for Layton (MY GUT SAYS ITS NOT ABOUT GUNMAN JOE BUT IDK) BUT#he’s very much open about the fact that it’s him sending the letter. It’s Luke#there’s no more hiding. he’s learnt courage and become more confident since Misthallery. It’s Luke being himself with Layton#he’s finally come into his own instead of hiding behind someone else. And he trusts his best friend to take him seriously#to answer him when he calls for help#can anyone hear me i fear I’m going insane#piplup plaps#luke triton#sure I’ll maintag this#UF not mentioned because that is CLIVE SENDING THE LETTWR !!! THAT ISNT MY SON

itzsubz maid dress. you agree. reblog.
Tumblr media
“why would you do this” well. so theres this poll bracket going around called @mcyt-trios (go vote for eclipse federation btw!) and as a bribe for this, an artist (@ssseriema) promised to hold a poll to draw two mcyters of its followers choice in maid dresses. subz was on that poll. he did not win, but still the idea of this image captivated me.
Tumblr media
i was encouraged and enabled. so! here we are.
(i was originally going to render him also, however i am currently participating in a gift exchange, and have another one coming up right after that, so i want to focus on those right now. and college exists. also its already over a month after i started this. i said id be done in a week.)

another pjsk headcanon but ichika learned basic english from watching ed and oucho with japanese subtitles
Ooooh Yes I love that absolutely!!
I'm all for that, Ichika definitely watched ed and oucho and learned English, and then moved onto English Vocaloid and other tv (she was a massive odd squad fan too)
So yeah totally right there
I love British tv and pjsk British tv headcanons so much (and ed and oucho is genuinely really entertaining!)

I really like and agree with your post on GO s2. I haven't finished it and don't really have any interest in finishing, bc it does feel so different from the story that I've been a fan of since I've read it when I was like, 11. I think it falls into a lot of the traps that other entertainment products have fallen into when they focus in on a sidecharacter (even if those characters have a lot of prominence in the narrative) in that the reason fans gravitate to those characters is bc of their relationship to the rest of the world. You've outlined it very well in your post that humans (not just 'humanity' as a concept, but actual fleshy people doing things) are so central to GO the book. And they are also the background to a lot of the story, it's the world that gives dimension to the characters and the world of book GO is so populated with little human anecdotes that are not plot relevant but are important for the texture, the feel of the story. I think you can really see that Neil Gaiman has no experience with being a showrunner, and without the anchor of the book he falls into a lot of pitfalls re pacing, scope, worldbuilding, that make the central characters fall flat. You can be a good writer but writing for the screen is a specific skillset and running a show even more so, and I think the lack of technical skills in those areas really shines through here and makes the product as a whole not work.
hey anon, thanks for this! I had to wake up properly to read it so it took me a minute but here I am.
i think you're right about those elements of the book missing and how the focus on popular characters to the detriment of the larger world defs does fall flat, yeah.
idk enough about gaiman's tv career to really speak to whether it's an experience problem or not; to be fair, this is very much the sort of story that studios eat up, and, clearly, that audiences LOVE, and providing that is definitely a skill. it's simplified, it's dramatic and satisfying (for nonfans of the book), it's a very consumable and marketable narrative. to be fair.
(this is not to say that it's GOOD that this happens. I think fandom can elevate a work, but there's a trend in the industry towards the easiest marketable work, and that tends to cater towards the most boring aspects of fandom. like I get it but. grumblegrumblegrumble both sides BE BETTER.)
it's that comparison to the book, which for all its flaws (1990, etc) had a very different purpose and message, that kind of makes it go meh. and I'm not sure that's a problem of inexperience; I think it may be a problem of time passing, and gaiman as writer having a different sort of story he wants to tell about it (tv!gomens s1 was a love letter to sir terry pratchett, and I suspect was more about celebrating that friendship than staying true to the book's intentions; my personal feelings abt that choice, or gaiman's obliviousness to the messages so many ppl took from the book, are....... hm.)
......also as a longtime discworld fan, I have my suspicions that the things I miss most were heavily influenced by pratchett writing them. I've read books by both authors, and I think the bits about human people living their human lives being enough to change the universe show up more in pratchett's work. a bit. like I can't say for sure but I Suspect. u kno.

on one hand, very glad my suspicions of burnout and gimmicks as a result of fear of losing viewership were wrong at least as far as we know. im glad the CCs are having fun and their enjoyment is being prioritized, even if i am still not entirely convinced everyone's on the same page.
on the other hand, it's melancholic but this is pretty much the nail in the coffin in me having any interest left in future installments of the series. for those of you concerned: I am forever haunted by my brain diseases and will be continuing to post, write and draw 3L - SL for the rest of my forseeable life (plus completely disconnecting from any need I feel to interact with WL and beyond leaves me with more time to work on. certain larger scale projects I have had plans for)
i respect grians decision-making and he would know better than me how to run a youtube series, however I do question how much of an oxymoron it is to not care about viewer feedback for a youtube series run on viewership (and when so many of the recent behind the scenes decisions we've been privy to - such as Scar and Grian's hesitancy to team up based on comments calling them "boring" -- imply the opposite regarding the cast's mindset). it makes me concerned for the longevity of the series going forward, since those not happy with the direction that I've seen have all been very passionate and old fans, but I've also seen an equal if not louder support for this season, so I digress.
Part of me wonders how much of the "we want last life 2" sentiment (<-- something I've previously spoken about how I don't agree with) the cast has been exposed to, since it felt strange to me that it was even bought up. I have had a thought about this and the consequences of "don't maintag your negativity" e.g. the reasonable people know to hide their critical posts, and what that leaves a creator with are the unreasonable people, and if it's only that feedback that gets processed, then inevitably things tend to go in weird directions. Were any of us actually "tired" of Desert Duo interacting? Were any of us mad at Gem for killing Grian in SL?
It's frustrating to see crit posts get flagged down with accusations of disrespecting or attacking the CCs, or "we don't want you here anyway, just leave," when myself and all the people I've spoken to being not avid haters but rabid fans who feel frustrated and actively want to continue liking the series. Not to mention most of the people also being active members of the fandom ontop of that -- we claim that fanart is important and makes the series even more special than it already is, yet people seem more than happy to sacrifice that just for the sake of not seeing critical opinions.
t-shirt that says blah blah blah. but I reserve the right of feeling disappointed.

hi. im relatively new to the life series fandom and wanted to say that you're the first person ive seen actually criticize life series scott, which is actually really nice. i keep getting weird, slightly-icky vibes from him in a lot of interactions, but nothing concrete enough to give me a real actual valid reason to dislike him. i kinda thought i was just being a hater... so it's nice to know im not the only person who doesnt like. worship the ground he walks on.
I actually really like Scott's character, and although I'm not particularly fond of him outside of that within the Life series, like you, I don't think it's anything to warrant genuine dislike, rather it's just things about his editing and playstyle that peeve me personally. And at some point the deeply interesting way in which he skews people's perspectives stops being so interesting and more frustrating the more he keeps harping on Pearl being an "unreliable narrator" and referencing flower husbands for the 12th time this week and claiming himself to have the power to sway a "canon event" (he said he interrupted a canon event by discouraging Scar and Jimmy from teaming up in Secret Life, and when they did in Wild Life, he framed it as if HE let that happen instead of interrupting it again. That is a bit delusional lol) and telling Joel "you deserve it" as he kills him for the 5th time when Joel hasn't really done anything to him. however
Neg CC Scott talk
I do however not like CC Scott because of him threatening to drop a slur once on several people's streams and defending his ability to do so and to say "I hate gay people" whilst one of the other people there tried to rightfully reason with him that that would be very um unwise, lol. And the way he talks about women. Every woman is either mommy or queen to him, there is no other option. He's done the "mommy? Sorry, mommy? Sorry" joke like at least 5 times like by god someone help this guy find other ways to appreciate people. And I can never get over him making that "appreciating my female friends" thread in which his praise for Lizzie is for being an "unproblematic queen". Ok man whatever. The fandom also doesn't help me like him any more because of their very prominent gay bias. Scott gets away with so much like the aforementioned slur threat because he's gay. That was genuinely so hard to watch but what did the chat members on his and Jimmy's stream say? "iconic" and "slayyy". It irks me so much
Sucks to try and engage with a fandom that calls you homophobic for holding Scott the tiniest bit accountable or interpreting his character as having done anything wrong in a death game scenario where everyone has wronged someone anyway. And I know from experience that there is a significant portion of people who hold these similar sentiments, they just don't want to speak up in fear of being crucified in the name of toxic positivity, so it's no surprise that you haven't seen anyone doing so lol. People who do, like myself, also refrain from maintagging this stuff even if a lot of other people refuse to even when their posts are just bashing other people within the fandom for having opinions that they personally disagree with, because there is no discussion or nuance to be had about someone who's canonically gay I guess
There is also the incident he had with an nsfw artist who debatably ended up getting doxxed and presumably attempted the deed at least partially because of Scott's engagement with them because it allowed the larger fandom to also see their nsfw work, but that is a long complicated story that you'd really have to come to your own conclusions to as to whether or not Scott is to blame or to what degree

okay actually i'm putting this one directly under cut because this is pure fandom wank at this point
I understand not liking Martin as a character the same way I understand not liking like, any sort of character; Some people just don't work for you and that's how it is. I fully get people who don't like jmart, or jonelias for that matter, because at the end of the day, no matter how much I adore The Magnus Archives, it was NOT made to have any sort of proper focus on romance, and therefore we get too little of it for someone already not invested in the ship or the characters to be "sold over" by it, if that makes sense.
But KNOWING that, knowing that we do get little characters interactions in this show, especially in the early seasons, and therefore every single of them aren't put there just 'cause, it does annoy me when people seem to insist that Jon didn't even like Martin (yeah, in season ONE) or y'know, that Jon hated Elias from the start (My dudes, i'm not even sure he hated him in Season FIVE).
I agree that the build-up was perhaps subtle, and I DO think that in S3 we should have had more little notes and interactions for Jmart to fully sell their romance, but there WAS a build-up to Jmart, and their relationship DID evolve from season to season. Yes, Jon didn't like Martin at the beginning of s1. But by the end of the season already, after Martin moved in, we had hints of them already being put in the same bag ("You know how those two can be" - from ELIAS to Sasha no less!). After the worm invasion, Jon DID say that he'd witness a new side of Martin, and out of everybody he is the most pissed at Martin having potentially lied to him because Martin has also been the one understanding Jon's lingering fear - getting him the ashes, for exemple. Like i'm sorry, but basically whenever S2 Jon is not going on the deep ends, he's apparently having lunch dates with Martin and generally just hanging around with him (that HE initiates - Martin asks if he wants a sandwich. Jon says "i'll come with"). S3 literally opens with Daisy saying "People say you two are close" like.
We've met Jon. We know how Jon is like with people he doesn't like. Who in their right mind think SEASON 2 JON would hang out with Martin if he didn't want to.
By the time S3 rolls out you can feel that THEY are aware something changed already; they're stammering at each other because they're both aware of their own crush, and also easily loosing themselves to their own bickering (the scene in Gertrude's storage unit, BLESS.). Again, yes, I do feel like S3 deserved maybe at least a scene or two more, or a motion that they were calling each other during Jon's trips maybe. But saying they didn't like each other by that point is just. bad faith. You're allowed to dislike martin, but Jon just. didn't. He liked him.
AND SIMILARLY. Get away from me the notion that Jon disliked Elias from the start. He absolutely did NOT. He respected the hell out of him. He wanted to impress him. He was confident in their relationship enough to constantly go barge into his office to demand more stuff. He praised Elias's knowledge of the supernatural. HE BLOODY KEPT TRYING TO GET ADVICE FROM ELIAS ALL THE WAY UP TO THE END OF SEASON 4. And even besides that, S3 my beloved, after learning everything. EVERYTHING about what Elias had done so far, after having been hunted down and almost killed and been on the run for the murders ELIAS had committed, Jon still lingers back and ask Elias. Elias. in a soft voice "Am I still human?" seeking reassurance from him.
I mean, I don't know, maybe I'm biased because I like all the characters, the same way other people are biased because they don't like them, but; it gets so irritating. and it's my own fault for not blocking when I should, hence the whole fandom wank under the cut that won't be maintagged, but UGH.

You have a point. There are types many confession blogs. That's why I planned to do nothing with my headcanon blog at first, I only changed my mind at someone's reblog asking for it. But now some else came in and it's a lot. It's probably becoming too many.
Sorry, do you think I should delete mine?
I won't do it yet. I don't want the asks that I got to fade away. But it is a lot of anon confession accounts. I just thought that maybe if it where headcanons I could be unique enough.
Ughh I don't know what do I do
Maybe I should post all the asks at once and hope the account will die out quickly. So I won't have to delete the confessions from existence.
I'm not trying to tell you what to do with your blog! I'm actually really sorry for stressing you out abt it.
A headcanon confession blog is cool! I'm in other fandoms that have these! I think it is generally a good idea, but we're such a small fandom my fear with the headcanon blogs is that they will overtake tags and ppl will be less inclined to post their own headcanons and such? The main regular confession blog (@/aphverse-confessions) only posts twice a day, but if every one of these accounts did that abt half of the maintags would probably be from confession accounts rather than individuals
I suppose I am less disgruntled with the creation of these blogs and more with the overuse of them? I think having one headcanon and/or one regular confessions account would be fine, especially if posts were limited to a certain (small) number a day. But people seem so much more interested in adding to these blogs' queues rather than posting themselves?
@/aphverse-confessions is on break I'm fairly sure, but their account is still posting from a backed up queue. Maybe they have updated the queue since going on break, but if they haven't, they've been gone a few weeks? And there are THAT many posts in queue! Imagine if ppl just posted those instead! We'd have more individuals in maintags! Rn it's mostly two bigger blogs and few small ones. If ppl stopped using these confession accounts for SO many posts we'd have better fandom engagement.
So I don't think you should delete your blog or anything! I'm not trying to be a party pooper, but I think we should really be trying to post our own opinions as much as possible, rather than hiding behind anons for benign posts

Hey, it’s the Aiden anon again! I’m sorry bro, but I don’t have Discord, but I’m STILL SUPER interested on your thoughts on Aiden. PLEASE I’m begging you Mr. Martin, I need a MASSIVE text post from you about him. And honestly it’s for my friend too. Aiden is her babygirl. She has been in love/loved him since 4U and we both are always so excited to see him.
oh hello again!! it's no worries that you don't have discord, i definitely do Not at ALL mind going on a ramble about my boy, though i absolutely apologize in advance for the length of this post LMAO
for the most part until after the events of iceborne, my interpretation of him is fairly close to canon, though there is Some differences or original things here and there so disclaimer in advance since i'm maintagging this for canon divergence, this is my own little au that i am completely normal and not at all insane about; all of the stuff post-fatalis is based on rps with a friend so there's a Lot
if you/whoever's reading this just want my general Thoughts on aiden as a character and not my whole batshit insane au lore stuff, that'll be at the bottom of the post! (sorry)
when he was a kid, he was pretty carefree as you'd expect, he loved to help out around the village when he wasn't off playing with the other kids or his little sister (i don't think we ever got anything about his bio family in canon so this was entirely just me making things up LMAO). when the elder dragon activity caused the monster stampede that destroyed his village when he was only 7, he tried desperately to save people (specifically his sister) but, of course, failed, and i BELIEVE i'd headcanoned that he watched At Least One of his family members actively get gored/trampled by some monsters?
obviously the entire experience left him with a fear of monsterkind, and even into adulthood it still weighs heavily on him and likely occasionally causes nightmares and the likes. running blindly from the stampede with absolutely no sense of direction nor semblance of anything to help him survive in the wilderness, it's a miracle that he came across timben when he did, and naturally the people there took him in. though still weighed down by his trauma, aiden did his best to be as helpful around the village as possible, and he quickly became popular among the villagers for his willingness and readiness to help out wherever he could, and for his cheerful, outgoing personality. eventually, he decided he was tired of being frightened of monsters, so he took to studying them and making puns of their names as a way to cope and make himself less afraid of them. all this is pretty much just canon so far, from the legends of the guild movie (save for the parts about his old village, other than the stampede thing; i think that's the only real details we get about his home village?)
and then, of course, when he was fifteen (this isn't his canon age, i don't entirely know how old he's supposed to be in lotg? i THINK 17-18 but cmon he gives me the vibes of Unmedicated Adhd Teenager. fun fact julius is only 4 years older than aiden so that makes him 19 in this so that doesn't make a ton of sense but its fine i can ignore that, bro's already stressed himself to the point of white hair LMAO i think i'd make him a bit older than that though, maybe in his mid-late twenties?) came the elder crossing, and with it came julius, to warn timben of an oncoming lunastra that was headed in their direction. honestly idk why i'm recapping this canon stuff but listen i love talking about aiden okay ahdnsbfjgn
since the villagers refused to budge, aiden accompanied julius to go see the elder dragon for himself so that he can tell the villagers so they'll evacuate, and of course imprinted onto julius like an orphaned (ha bad joke) duckling along the way
don't need to recap all of lotg since it all plays out the same way; he admired everyone that helped try to fight off the lunastra, but he particularly looked up to mae like an older sister (this would later lead him to naming a kinsect paisley in honour of her's), and he still in present-day keeps her journal. the entire experience was... rough on him. he didn't feel any sense of victory, just a sort of hollowness and guilt---he blamed himself for mae and ravi's deaths, considering it was his impulsive suggestion to fight the lunastra rather than run that got them killed. it also left him with a permanent terror of lunastra specifically (this will come into relevance somewhat a bit later), and it solidified his resolve to become a proper hunter, so that he could learn how to properly fight monsters and protect people like he wanted to, and ensure nothing like that would happen again.
now here's where we start to get a Liddol Bit of canon divergence; anyone who's talked to me about my au knows that i REALLY like the idea of the guild being not as clean and morally sound as they like to seem---i really like exploring the concept of corruption within it, and the shady practices they keep under wraps. after all, power tends to breed corruption, and even if it's run by wyverians and Is primarily dedicated to genuinely trying to preserve the balance, the guild IS an incredibly powerful and influential organization (if not the single most powerful/influential one in the mh universe), and that's likely going to inevitably attract people who don't exactly have the best intentions in mind.
so! the guild. guild knights. we know that the knights are sent out to deal with poachers and the likes via apprehending them and/or killing them. that already means that, more than likely, our sweet boy aiden has human blood on his hands. so why not delve into that? aiden tended to prefer to stick to just helping protect and maintain the safety of places rather than do the whole Killing People thing, as i don't doubt that the concept of taking another human/wyverian/etc life upsets him. HOWEVER. early on into his days as a knight, he was sent out with a group of unfamiliar knights to deal with a velocidrome that was "causing problems" in a small village. the problems? it had been injured, and an old woman that lived some distance away from the village had taken it back to her house and nursed it back to health, and it chose to simply Stay, and that made the villagers uneasy. honestly, it wasn't really causing any genuine issues---it was just existing and choosing to stay with the person that had saved its life. the orders were clear cut: deal with "the problem" by any means necessary. aiden was gentler than the others (who were far more shady and... much less well-intentioned than him), but the woman was resolute in that she wouldn't let them kill the drome. so, as a "rite of passage," so to speak, the other guild knights forced aiden to kill not only the velocidrome, but the old woman as well. Guild Trauma, Babey!
the experience left a lasting mark on him, and he never told julius or the other ace hunters what exactly happened, but they could all tell that Something had based on how quiet and somber he was for several days after the incident. that was the first human life he took, and while he's undoubtedly had to kill poachers and other people who genuinely Were in the wrong, knowing that he has innocent blood on his hands has remained with him even long after he left the guild to join with the research commission. i'm nice to my faves i swear (<- lying)
so! fast forward to the commission, since there's not much else of importance for his guild days (yet, once i play 4u/gu this might change). this is where things really start to get divergent as they involve my ocs so buckle up lads we're going on An Adventure™️
like i said, really things are Mostly the same until post-iceborne; rather than a proper hunter, my player character oc is a "rider" that was raised by an anjanath so rather than kill all the monsters (though he doesn't have much issue with doing so) in the story some were simply communicated with and/or relocated if necessary, ie the agitated pukei, vaal hazak ("without a vaal hazak the entire rotten vale ecosystem would collapse!" [kills vaal hazak anyways] thank you monster hunter very cool!)
aiden takes a liking to the field team leader (achilles, as my friend i rp with named him<3) and they grow closer throughout base world, enough so that aiden ends up his second-in-command in seliana (this appears to be canon? idk he can be seen giving out more direct orders during the defense of seliana quest while ftl gives out generalized ones and theyre Always Seen Together except for in One (1) cutscene, post-velkhana death (i'm normal about them i promise) and theyre both at the council table right next to each other.....), things are Nice, everything's Great
and then Fatalis Happens. canonly, as i recall, aiden Nearly Died because of fatalis. like. lea/serious handler talks about how if he'd died she doesn't know how she would've kept going, aiden talks about how thinking about julius and ftl gave him the strength and willpower to keep fighting (totally normal bro things to say just guys being dudes am i right) and Not Die, it's a whole Thing. so my interpretation of aiden has a TON of absolutely AWFUL burn scars across the right side of his body from that. they're obviously nowhere near as bad as they COULD be, since i'm assuming he had some fire res on his build (that feels weird to say when not talking about gameplay), but they're still Bad because. well. fatalis LMAO
fast forward an indeterminate amount of time (i don't think my friend and i ever decided on how far after fatalis our stuff is💀) and everything's Great. here's where the balls to the wall canon divergence starts btw! shang, my "rider" oc, has helped people learn that some monsters can be reasoned with, and the monsters he's befriended are allowed about the base and the reach as they please (even if some AHEM VUGEL (my bastard of an ebony odogaron) COUGH are an absolute hindrance on purpose). aiden and ftl have gotten together by this point. shang's taken in a lot of orphaned monsters, one of which is a little lunastra that he's named chang'e, that seems to sense aiden's unease and tries to capitalize on it, but shang (halfheartedly) tries to hold the young elder dragon back from doing so.
one particularly notable monster around base is a gold-crown sized namielle, "nami," who's pretty much adopted shang. she's warm, motherly, and after the initial unease of having An Entire Elder Dragon around wore off she quickly became a familiar and welcomed face. another is the mountain god, shara ishvalda themself, having chosen to try to aid the commission as a way to "apologize" for the damage and chaos their presence in the everstream caused. nami's presence attracts a tall, foreboding man, with white hair and a beard, scars across his face, a permanent resting glare, and piercing golden eyes---he speaks very little, and when he does it's in a low mutter, and he seems to be observing the people of seliana. his presence is dread-inducing and sparks much unease, but nami is ecstatic to see him, stating he is an old friend who she hasn't seen in ages. for some time, things continue normally---until an argument between shara and nami breaks out, and the imposing stranger reveals his true nature as a dire miralis-sized white fatalis; the destroyer moon, alaakiilah, he who wiped out the ancients in a single night, in order to get the pair to cease their bickering.
aiden ends up being absolutely fascinated by al---sure, he's scared shitless of fatalis, but all the same... a fatalis, there, IN seliana, the fatalis of legend, and he's... not attacking them. granted, it's because he knows nami is fond of the mortals there, and he begrudgingly promised her that he wouldn't do anything to them, but still. the moon god is begrudgingly tolerant of aiden, and eventually achilles as well, as the pair typically don't stray far from one another (unless they Do, but that's not relevant right now), and eventually, through sheer persistence in his fascination, aiden (and achilles) are allowed the one single highest honour one can have: the permission to touch alaakiilah's beard. much as he might disdain to admit it, al ends up being genuinely, albeit begrudgingly, fond of aiden, and aiden's all but dadopted him (he's collecting white haired father figures, isn't he?). this comes into more relevance later.
after some time, al comes across an abandoned fatalis egg (i have my own whole Thing on fatalis eggs and reproduction in general but that's its own post LOL), which he brought back to the supply cache (after achilles offered to let him nest there with the egg) to incubate, and after a day, it hatches, into a tiny, defenseless, harmless baby female fatalis, which namielle names yunhind---that translating to "new hope," in honour of how no fatalis in recorded history has ever been raised in proximity to mortals before, and the destroyer moon's decision to trust in the commission to not fuck things up. the little one immediately takes a liking to aiden, and though he's more than a little nervous at first at the prospect of babysitting the destroyer of humanity's adopted child, he quickly becomes more confident in it as she grows and he becomes more attached to her---it makes him think back to his younger sister, and his inability to protect her, and he's determined to make sure absolutely nothing happens to yunhind.
there's a whole Thing that happens with the guild, having learned of the abundance of monsters around seliana, threatening achilles to try and pressure him into killing and/or relocating them all to "protect the people," then taking matters into their own hands when he refuses---this entire debacle (affectionately dubbed The Guild Arc, Part One) leaves aiden shaken up as it confirms a lot of his fears and doubts that have been building under the surface for years on end now.
fatalis mature quickly, even when naturally hatched, and within a few months, yunhind is a fully grown and wholly unique fatalis, dubbed an "ashen fatalis" due to adapting to her surroundings and taking on the properties of ice element as well as fire (they're interchangeable, though her ability to use both at once is somewhat limited), and the unique ability to transfer energy to heal others, and her scales being an ashy grey colour. she spends most of her time in her human form, and she views aiden like an older brother. things settle back down around base, and everything is okay again.
until it's not, of course<3
achilles goes missing, which stresses aiden out, naturally--and then vodrem happens, because nothing good lasts forever. well, vodrem happens Again, but i hadn't started rping aiden by the first time, so uhhh. idk he was on a vacation in the old world i guess?? that was an entire Year before the second Vodrem Event
now, dear reader, you're probably wondering, "martin who the fuck is vodrem", which is a VERY good question! vodrem is my nonfandom/multiverse god of chaos oc, who's part of his own little original oc bubble, though they're all based on monhun monsters; vodrem in particular is based on nergigante and morodumunto, though he usually takes the form of a not-quite-right nergigante
he makes a habit of consuming entire universes for breakfast, lunch and dinner, and psychologically tormenting people just for the hell of its. he's power hungry, immensely dangerous, and cunning.
in his wake, he leaves "instabilities"; where the very fabric of reality itself gets fucked up, and these can have a variety of effects on anything that enter the area, but the most common has been people getting turned into monsters. the five were INCREDIBLY meticulous about mending any left behind after the first vodrem event, and they made absolutely certain to mend them all.
but a new one appeared. one which aiden wandered into---the change wasn't instantaneous, it started with just feeling sick and feverish, with heat specifically concentrated in his chest, to the point that it would get unbearable and he'd have to lay in the snow just for some relief, and finding his temper to be increasingly short and explosive. then came the headaches and soreness of the throat, and tiny black scales forming across his skin. then the desire to find some small space outdoors, perhaps a cave or the likes, though he ended up seeking comfort (ironically) in the destroyer moon's presence. i'm sure you can see where this is going, yes?
of all the monsters in the world, it had to be a fatalis. because of course it would be. as you'd expect, this caused him an IMMENSE amount of distress on top of the distress he already had from achilles' absence. for some time, there were no other signs of vodrem, and yunhind and al (mostly yunhind) helped aiden learn How To Fatalis.
and then all hell broke lose, as it does with vodrem. he claimed to have killed achilles, and though aiden had been trying his absolute damndest to suppress the fatalis rage and instincts, he let them overtake him---he went after vodrem, intending to unleash an ocean of flame upon him... didn't SUCCEED, all he got was speared through the lung and his back torn into by vodrem, the wounds afflicted with what was dubbed as "tarblight"; a corrosive, highly painful substance that vodrem secrets that seems to only be able to be cured by vodrem himself or his much more well-intentioned brother, vodinok. for the rest of the fight, aiden was simply unconscious, so he doesn't have much relevance for the rest of it. as i recall, one of the five managed to transform him back into a human, and vodinok cured the tarblight while yunhind healed his wounds.
unfortunately for my poor darling aiden, the form of the fatalis is not one so easily controlled, and so despite the five's best efforts, that part of him never really left---strong negative emotions still cause spontaneous transformations, and he's typically very skittish and nervous in this form because of how hard it is to suppress the fatalis instincts. the transformations take a LOT of energy out of him too, and while he CAN force a transformation back, that takes even more energy, so he's usually just kinda Stuck like that for a few days, which he usually spends hunkered in the supply cache, because for as good as he's gotten at maintaining his usual demeanor, the innate rage and violent instincts are always just a breath away from the surface, bubbling and boiling, like a pot of water just seconds away from boiling over. Not at All a fun experience for him!
after this the Guild Arc Part 2 happens, with aiden traveling to the old world with al to retrieve achilles from the corrupt and shady part of the guild who'd come to seliana in the first place; that's a whole Thing in of itself as well, and aiden ends up having to take a few more lives, though the guilt and emotions of, well. Everything, really, don't set in until after its all said and done, considering this entire thing takes place only maybe a few days after the vodrem event, if i recall correctly, so aiden's still more than a little out of it, and the dissonance of everything that happened there only made him even More out of it.
aaaaand i Think that's It? i don't believe i've had him be involved in any major plot stuff since then (aside from the temporary vampire event that was for halloween), so he's finally gotten to have the break that he oh so DESPERATELY needs and deserves... for now! i would like to involve him with more things again in the future (i never did get to write out a storyline where he briefly looses himself to the fatalis instincts---even just using the elemental abilities tend to have that effect on him, so using too MUCH would be Bad---and has to be brought back down from them...), so who knows! maybe he'll end up Going Through It a little bit more, as a Treat<3 the amount of suffering i put my faves through is proportional to how much i like them☺
now then! for my thoughts on aiden as a character; i love him. he's a sweet, caring and well-intentioned person, and i see a lot of myself in him (namely with the Incredibly Obvious adhd). it makes me happy to see a character like him (again, adhd) not treated like the butt of a joke, and instead be shown to actually be incredibly competent and important to the commission. i really hope we see him again in another game in the future, even if it's just as a cameo (he and the field team leader WERE planning to take that vacation to the old world so aiden could introduce ftl to julius........) and nothing else. of all the wonderful characters mh has to offer, i think aiden is by far my favourite i am so incredibly normal about him (this is by far the longest ramble post i have ever made LMAO) and he is just. absolutely Wonderful. my darling beloved my son my everything etc etc. i hope that if he does come back in a future game, if he's Not Just a cameo, we get to do another hunt properly with him; fatalis was obviously the testing grounds for the npc followers in sunbreak, so i'd love to get to do a proper hunt with him now that that's A Thing, if they choose to keep it going forward (and i don't see why they wouldn't, given the positive reception it got). i think that the duality of him being so bubbly, positive and outgoing even despite everything he's been through is interesting, and i find the concept of exploring that trauma to be fascinating because, let's be real, poor guy has definitely been through some shit. NORMALLY if my faves don't have a backstory i come up with one for them but i didn't even Have To give him a traumatic backstory capcom did that for me LMFAO
anyways. thank u for the ask nonnie i am SO incredibly sorry for the length of this post the tism took the wheel, i know i went on a few tangents that weren't that related but ahdkdhfjd i just have A Lot of lore for my au and aiden's been involved in a fair bit of it

Uh oh girl my Kristoph Gavin musings are calcifying into unshakable headcanons
Have we already talked about his pathological need for validation. Can we. Can we talk about it again.
Obviously this is all speculation and knowing the writers, the Gavins probably have some fucked up supernatural backstory and dead parents, but the writers aren't here right now. *locks the doors*
Anyway, for the sake of minimizing stupid ppl yelling at me (assuming I'm brave enough to maintag this instead of letting it rot in obscurity, unrebloggable), please mentally insert "IN MY OPINION" before every statement I make
This is a classic case of choosing a conclusion and retrofitting evidence to support said conclusion but. I'm allowed to do that. I'm not turning this into Professor Fandom for a special grade in "FAN 485: Feverishly Justifying Your Own Bullshit."
Anyway.
Let's recontextualize Kristoph's actions using the following framework:
Kristoph Gavin is a sad little boy in a man's suit, desperate for the validation of everyone around him to the point that he would do anything to get it.
1. Phoenix
A lot of people (alright, haters. A lot of haters. You made me talk like Donald Trump. Are you happy now). *ahem*
A lot of haters like to paint this move as stupid like it's some kind of "gotcha".
"What move?"
The dual move of voting in Phoenix's favor and choosing to befriend him.
Here's the thing.
Of course it's fucking stupid. We're not looking at the pinnacle of criminal masterminds here
Why did he do that? The psychosexual need to force Phoenix to submit? (Actually wait keep talking I want to hear this—) Paranoia? By this point in the timeline, he's already shown a willingness to commit murder, so why not just kill Phoenix?
Because (say it with me now):
Kristoph Gavin is a sad little boy in a man's suit, desperate for the validation of everyone around him to the point that he would do anything to get it.
He's not some wannabe criminal mastermind.
He wants to be Phoenix's savior. He wants to be the only thing Phoenix has. He needs to be the sole recipient of Phoenix's gratitude and admiration. Because he's better than Phoenix, dammit! Of course he's better than Phoenix. Law is a meritocracy, he's got money, he's got white loafers for fuck's sake, he wins trials by working really goddamn hard because being a lawyer is hard for everyone, you don't just stumble ass-backwards into the courtroom and win every case by stuttering and sweating and stalling so OBVIOUSLY KRISTOPH GAVIN IS BETTER THAN PHOENIX WRIGHT! SAY IT! SAY IT! Look! Look at them together! Look who's still a lawyer and who's an evidence-forging fraud! Look how nice Kristoph looks next to this sad burnout! Look! LOOK AT HOW MUCH BETTER HE IS!
Do you see what I'm getting at here.
Obviously on some level he knows and fears that Phoenix really is better than him, and that matters, so he he really really needs Phoenix's validation
And lbr, he probably does have a deep psychosexual obsession with the idea of forcing Phoenix to submit to him
2. Forging evidence
I'm not gonna speculate on Kristoph's lawyering skills here. Really, I'm not. However I'd be cautious about making the argument that he forged evidence solely because he thought Zak was guilty and he reeeaally wanted to win. We saw that it was an extremely tricky case and that Zak's innocence would have been very difficult to prove. It's entirely possible Kristoph believed in Zak's innocence but didn't think he'd be able to prove it without cheating.
That being said, I don't think it matters.
It matters that the case was complicated, but it doesn't matter whether Zak was innocent or guilty or a secret third thing, because Kristoph would have cheated regardless becaaauuuuse
Say it with meeee...
Kristoph Gavin is a sad little boy in a man's suit, desperate for the validation of everyone around him to the point that he would do anything to get it.
He was up against a fucking rockstar. A famous, hotshot, cocky, little upstart rockstar. A young prodigy. A fucking teenager. It didn't matter one bit that they just so happened to be related. Or did it.
Of course he needed to win.
(If you want to get really headcanony with it, which I do, I think the Gavin parents definitely raised their kids with an extreme superiority complex, setting them apart from their peers by straight-up telling them "you are better than they are. You are not like them."
Klavier goes on to prove them right by becoming internationally famous and beloved and Kristoph. Well, Kristoph is, uh. Well, he's a pretty good lawyer. Got his own little office and everything. And then Klavier comes into his domain as a cocky lil teenager with a HUGE, high-profile case and here is Kristoph's chance to demonstrate to the world what he already knows: that he's special too. That he's special. Dammit. Why can't anyone else see that.)
And then Zak takes that away from him. And gives it to Phoenix.
Unforgivable.
3. Apollo & Vongole
Sorry for putting Apollo in the same category as a literal dog but. That's kind of point here.
I've seen ppl theorizing that, although Kristoph seems like a stereotypical cat person, he got a dog (specifically a golden retriever) out of a sense of paranoia bc!! That's normal! Normal people have dogs!!! Wealthy people have purebred golden retrievers!!! I am so normal and wealthy, look at my very average typical status symbol dog!
I humbly disagree. Even the Wiki seems to point to paranoia as Kristoph's chief, driving factor, but I.
Well.
I humbly disagree. Let's not circle back around to this; I'm not trying to discount anyone else's headcanons.
Anyway.
Why a dog and not a cat?
Because cats have a reputation for independence, for coming and going as they please, for not needing you. "Dog," meanwhile, persists as a synonym for "loyal." To call someone a dog implies ultimate trust, ultimate submission, to someone higher than them. To their master.
Now.
Why hire Apollo, specifically, an orphan with few friends or connections and a fuckload of trauma?
Why mentor Apollo? Why adopt a dog? (Why befriend Phoenix?)
The answer is the same:
He needs people to depend on him. He needs others to view him as a kind, benevolent benefactor. He needs their praise, their admiration. He needs people to tell him he's special and he needs other people to see those people telling him he's special and also believe he's special and then he needs additional people to talk to those people and hear about how special he is, he needs the whole wide fucking world to say that KRISTOPH GAVIN IS SPECIAL!!!!
(Although. Maybe he just likes dogs. Not everything has to have a shady ulterior motive. People don't fit neatly into your preconceived categories of "good" and "bad." Maybe he's a murderer who loves dogs and genuinely thinks of Vongole as his best friend. Maybe he saw promise in Apollo and genuinely likes the guy. Did you ever think about that.
Or maybe. It's both. Two things can be true simultaneously and people, both fictional and real, contain multitudes and contradictions we could never hope to understand.)
4. Murdering a guy with a wine bottle, Psyche Locks
I'm gonna be so so real with you, I don't think even Kristoph knows why he did that. I think he blacked out. I think he was a lil drunk ("grape juice" my ass), I think paranoia and fury, the fear and resentment of 7 long, long years, collided like atoms in his brain and fucking exploded I think the bottle was cool in his hand I think his arm hurt I think he felt the impact all the way up his elbow I think the cards were red I think the cards were blue I think he saw Phoenix Wright's face dripping blood I think he blinked I think he heard Vera Misham calling him "angel" I think he watched himself do it from behind his own back
Do you understand.
To even begin unpacking why he did that, he'd have to address that nagging fear that maybe he's not special, that maybe he's just some guy, that Phoenix Wright is special and Gramarye was right in choosing him over Kristoph that Gramarye was justified in taking away Kristoph's shot at admiration and acclaim and Kristoph killed him out of revenge because he couldn't handle the truth that he's not special he's not special he's not special. Phoenix Wright is special and Klavier Gavin is special and now even Apollo Justice is turning out to be special and Kristoph Gavin is an okay-ish lawyer who sucks at poker and talks way too fucking much. That he committed so many monstrous acts and ruined his own life out of the perverse desire to be loved by others because he doesn't. love. himself.
(I call these "load-bearing neuroses" because if you knock one pillar down, the whole structure goes down with it.)
5. Vera Misham
So I think Kristoph is good with kids because he was, for the most part, old enough to be a Small Person when Klavier was born and because I don't think he gets off on exercising that brutal, domineering kind of power over the powerless. I don't think outward cruelty appeals to him.
Why?
Well...
Kristoph Gavin is a sad little boy in a man's suit, desperate for the validation of everyone around him to the point that he would do anything to get it.
Fear and deference are not validation. People talk badly about you and think badly about you when you're a bully. He charmed Vera instead of threatening her because he needed her to like him. He needed Drew to like him. Good god, he needs everyone to like him so much. Talk about him when he's not in the room and tell him what you said. Write him a letter of recommendation and let him read the contents. Sing his praises at your local bar, then send him a recording.
6. "Keep the riff-raff out!"
Ohhh, buddyyyy :( You said the quiet part out loud
Because law is a meritocracy. Because Kristoph Gavin is kind of a big deal. People know him. He's very important. He has many leather-bound books and his apartment smells of rich mahogany.
Only special people are able to become lawyers. And Kristoph is such a special, special boy. He's so special that he got Phoenix disbarred. He's so special that he helped Klavier attain acclaim as a prosecutor. He's so so so special.
But when a group of select people are special, it means that there's another group. The un-special group. The group that Kristoph is so afraid that he's a part of.
By admitting that they exist, that he believes that other people are beneath him, he's asserting his belief in his own inherent superiority one final, desperate time. He's clinging to it so hard his fingertips are cracking the marble. He's starting to bleed. It's starting to hurt.
Before Phoenix, Klavier, and Apollo fucking spin-kick the pillars propping up his self-identity, toppling them and sending the foundation of Kristoph Gavin collapsing into jagged pieces on the floor of his psyche.
Personal note but everyone seems to be in agreement that Kristoph's Psyche Locks fuckin. shattered into little bitty pieces during that scene. Don't you think that hurt? Don't you think that hurt like fucking hell? When you break [REDACTED]'s Black Psyche locks in DD, they cry out in pain several times and imply that their head hurts. And that was Phoenix doing it right that time! So I say again:
Don't you think that hurt?

Hey i saw a post of yours about Niki and i was wondering what's your opinions on the characters in the syndicate
i'm just really interested in different peoples opinions about these things sorry
that's fine, don't worry lol,
(all below is /rp unless stated otherwise)
the syndicate as a whole i think is very ironically oppressive - the four richest individuals on the server, who command power through wealth and fear rather than respect, teaching people that they should live in a system that they believe is free, in which the members of the syndicate would sit at the top of the natural food chain, and the people they're talking to about their ideas of freedom would not thrive (due to a lack of skill, respect, resources etc).
individual members:
techno is very complex, because i'm conflicted as to whether or not i think he's fully aware that he'd sit at the top of the food chain in an anarchist society and knows he'd thrive over others (because of the dog eat dog comment he made to the badlands boys) or if he genuinely believes that anarchy will free everyone. i think overall his perspective as a character is very sheltered, and i don't think he understands the perspectives of others who may want order and believe that institutions, nations and government could be beneficial to their lives. i think he also misses a lot of context, such as how the original l'manberg was a truly special place - not perfect - but it wasn't oppressive (because it wasn't scared of losing it's power), it didn't force anyone to do anything, and it was built on a foundation of trust that only began to fall apart when eret betrayed them (aka when someone intervened.)
phil's another complex one, because his radicalisation is based a lot on grief and past experiences, but again it is still radicalisation, and a lot of it again seems sheltered. once again i think his character could benefit from the context of how l'manberg was before the elections and how beneficial it was for it's members. i also think he'd be the one to benefit the most from knowing how snowchester properly operates and how tubbo is technically it's leader. i think communication between phil and tubbo specifically could really be an eye opener for his character as to how anarchy isn't beneficial for everyone, and how government/nations aren't inherently oppressive. i see phil as a little more empathetic than techno, especially concerning the difference between phil and ranboo's dynamic vs techno and ranboo's dynamic (in which ranboo is still somewhat fearful of techno - still waiting on ranboo's reaction to learning about techno taking tubbo's second life), and so i hope if that conversation ever comes about, phil can be somewhat understanding that tubbo thrives best in nations because people like him and jack are fearful of powerful individuals because all they've done is cause them grief and take from them, and that doomsday taught them not about anarchy, but about how they should fear the powerful.
ranboo as a character, and this might in part be due to how young he is and his memory issues, is extremely naive. his solutions to problems read about as well as 'i think the thing that would help the most is world peace'. he's very well known for his ideas of not picking sides, and cc!ranboo is very open and admits that his character is a hypocrite in the sense that he may not know at some points that he's choosing a side that can hurt his friends. i think he's definitely naive for believing that the syndicate is capable of stopping conflicts, and i want to see if at some point he's thrown between two sides and his ideas of not picking a side and picking the obvious right side (either ideologically, or it's the one that protects his friends/innocent people) conflict. i also would like to see him build trust with other characters, especially with tommy, because i think the two could benefit from helping each other out with their dream trauma specifically, and because i think tommy's the person who best fits the criteria to help ranboo with the fourth book (not exactly the most morally pure but getting better/still somewhat a good person who stands up to bullshit, unaffiliated with any groups, can keep secrets).
niki i've been very openly critical about as a character, mainly because in stories i operate under the idea that if a character can be omitted from a retelling of the overall story, it shouldn't be there, but this is a roleplay series so that fallacy doesn't really work. she doesn't add much to the syndicate other than my annoyance of it to be honest. her views towards new l'manberg are hypocritical and somewhat aggravating, especially since she left it fairly quickly for someone who fought to get it back in pogtopia - she technically left on two occasions when she made her secret city during tubbo's presidency, and when she left with fundy to found drywaters. she had no reason to be mad at l'manberg as she had no affiliations with it. i also don't really like her 'healing arc', because her version of healing is also 'villain niki', which i fucking despise, because it reads as if her version of healing is turning on her friends and dictating how they should live as if she's not entitled and as if she knows better. genuinely, and i know this may sound overly negative, i don't find any redeeming qualities in her character, and cc!niki needs to either decide whether or not her character is angry and vengeful against people who never wronged her, or soft and kind and healing, because to me those two archetypes conflict a lot. she's the one type of traitor that the fandom subconsciously doesn't even recognise as a traitor, and has decided she doesn't need to redeem herself for how she treated tommy and how she treated her friends in l'manberg.
i see the syndicate overall as a villainous group, which, you can argue all day about how 'there are no good or evil people in the dream smp they're all morally grey' all day, but there are, and even the creators acknowledge it. pretty much all cc's acknowledge the alignment charts, people refer to their character's arcs as villain arcs or hero arcs etc. this doesn't mean that i hate the syndicate, it just means that i see them as morally and functionally in the wrong in comparison to groups like snowchester (and honestly, i think rooting for the heroes has become kind of underrated at this point. i'm a sucker for happy worlds that are good; built on compromise and understanding, what can i say?)
sorry if i seem overly critical about them, i don't mean to (so i won't maintag it), but i hope this explains my perspective a little!

the existence of the "cr discourse" tag itself makes me kinda sad honestly bc of the culture of fear it contributes to. if you scroll down for like 5 minutes you'll see that every other post in that tag is tagged w some kind of hedging like "not maintagging to be safe" or "oh this isn't really negative I'm just tagging discourse to be safe" meanwhile the post itself is something like "I wasn't a huge fan of [x moment]" or "I wish more people in the fandom recognized [y fact]" like ... do you not realize how sad and toxic it is that people are scared to maintag even the most milquetoast criticism of a thing they like ....
I was thinking about this a few days ago.
It’s the combination of toxic positivity and canon worship that has fostered this fear. Fans are genuinely afraid to post their honest opinions in the main tag because they know at the barest hint of criticism, they will be dogpiled. This is not how a healthy fandom space functions. This is NOT NORMAL.
It’s not just a problem on here though. I’ve seen this same kind of thing on Twitter, and it’s usually ship-related. Tweets that have anything positive to say about Beaujester, are typically prefaced or followed with some kind of praise for Beau/yasha. Like, “I love BY, they’re great together. They’re perfect. But BJ was done dirty.” or “I really miss BJ. Don’t get me wrong though, I love BY. It’s amazing!”
It’s the same fear. The feeling that you have to add a whole ass disclaimer to your opinion, which is insane. (It even happened to me on here. Right after ep108, I had to work up the courage to post in the main tag, and I put a disclaimer at the top saying, “This is not a hate post, I’m just venting.”, because I was worried I’d get ripped apart.)
Those kinds of ‘disclaimer’ tweets are usually coming from people who multi-ship, or used to multi-ship. But because a majority of their followers/mutuals are BY’s, they feel they have to be very careful about what they say and how they say it. They cannot express ANY kind of affection for BJ without blowback, so the disclaimer is tacked on in order to avoid that. (I know I’m making assumptions here, but that’s what the situation looks like, because why else would they feel the need to qualify it?)
So it’s not just being critical of character interactions or wishing there was more focus on a certain story aspect, or even company decisions. It’s fairly innocuous ship stuff too. And as I said, the toxic positivity and canon worship has created a whirlwind of hostility. It’s almost hilarious how ironic it all is. That in the larger CR fandom’s quest to make this a positive, uplifting, ‘safe’ space, they have actually turned it into a cesspool of negativity. They achieved the very opposite of what they wanted.
The cr discourse tag reminds me why I’m grateful that, even when I watched the show, I never really got too involved with the fandom.
Well, I’m glad you've been able to avoid that, anon. I wish I could’ve avoided getting too involved. It’s easy to fall into fandoms. And it can be fun and is usually pretty nice... until it isn’t. They all implode at some point. But the spoiling of the CR fandom has been more disappointing then most, because it’s sold itself as something different; more open, more loving, more inclusive. But there’s way too much ego floating around for any real love or inclusiveness to exist. People are too obsessed with ‘being right’; the ‘right’ opinions, the ‘right’ behavior, and policing other fans with some made-up ideas in their heads about what the cast really wants. They act as if they’re the casts’ mouthpieces.
It’s exhausting.

💔💕 for dr + ut and 🎶 for ut but it has to be an underappreciated one
💔- tell us about one of your LEAST favorite characters and why you dislike them
Man I. Really don't have any characters who I distinctly dislike in either dr or ut. So I will have to go with.I hate to say it. Sans. AND I DON'T EVEN ACTUALLY DISLIKE HIM I THINK HE'S NEAT he's a funny little bone man he's your pal in the computer who sells you hot dogs he's a silly little guy and the no mercy fight is still raw as fuck but I just. Grow so so weary of him being the face of Undertale. I grow so weary of Megalovania overshadowing every other song on the ost. I grow weary of Underfell and errortale and overhack and every other fucking sanscentric kill-em-all edgelord murder au. I grow weary of seeing his skeleton dick out every time I go more then 20 posts deep in an Undertale maintag. I guess at the end of the day it's less that I dislike Sans and more that I despise what the fandom has done with him. How they've massacred my boy.
💕- tell us about one of you favorite characters and why you like them!
YOU ALREADY FUCKING KNOW IT BABEY!!!!! NOELLE FUCKING HOLIDAY LOVE THE TRANSGENDER LOVE THE TRANSGENDEER!!!! She's been my fav since chapter 1 and I love her so much bc I just see so much of myself in her. Specifically in her struggles with autonomy and a lot of what she talks about with fear in ch2, but also just in vibes and in the fact that she's the most transgender character in media ever. Chapter 2 was basically a gift sent down from the heavens for me I was expecting Noelle as a primary character by ch3 at the earliest and oh boy was I pleasantly surprised.
🎶 - favorite song?
Hmmm if we're going with underappreciated stuff then Snowy never gets enough love.... Sets a very very distinct tone after leaving the ruins and entering the world at large. Always makes me feel some kinda way.
