why does sansa instantly become so so so so much kind after agot? like in her first acok chapter she saves ser dontos, putting herself at great risk while in her second to last chapter in agot she’s bitching that jeyne is crying and was kinda very mean to arya like do I need to reread the books bc how come she becomes so different simply bc her fathers head was chopped off. like that’s not a small thing obviously but it doesn’t change someone’s personality so drastically , even when she becomes alayne and starts to heal (Alayne loved it here. She felt alive again, for the first since her father...since Lord Eddard Stark had died) she’s still incredibly nice like what’s up

That's a really good question and my simple answer is that her class and status changed so her worldview did along with it.

It's not a question of "is Sansa mean?" it's "does Sansa understand the gravity of what she's reacting to?" your example of her not extending much empathy to Jeyne Poole is a great one! at that moment Sansa doesn't understand what the audience understands, she thinks the Lannisters are on her side and that everything is going to be okay. She's a very sheltered girl because she's one of the highest born children in Westeros, Jeyne Poole is a steward's daughter who may have more of a sense of the dangers of upsetting the people above her. More importantly Jeyne saw the killings take place and knows exactly how bad things are, Sansa still thinks her father or Septa Mordane will come see her. it's sort of like Sansa thinks she's in a lockdown drill at school and Jeyne knows it's an active shooter.

She does have a desire to protect Jeyne back in Agot which is the aspect that bleeds over into her protecting Ser Dontos so there is precedence for that part of her it just never really needed to be utilized until now. The argument against that is her coldness toward the murder of Mycah which is definitely egregious and one of Sansa's major flaws. There's nuance to that situation though, Lady was part of her soul and had just been murdered on account of that debacle so you can argue that she wasn't in the proper headspace which I think is fair but I prefer to see that part of her story as an early view into the classism of Westeros. Like I said I think that's what mainly changed Sansa's perspective, she didn't care about Mycah because he was a nobody but soon Sansa will lose her station and know what it is to be looked down upon, laughed at, violated and mistreated. The Ser Dontos situation is, in my opinion, a direct foil to the Mycah situation. Sansa now understands Joffrey's cruelty and is vehemently against it and wants to stand against it as much as she can.

The Arya situation? Yes. She is mean to Arya I don't know why some people try to say she wasn't. I think it's an over correction because some fans act like she was beating her with brooms and treating her like Carrie at the prom but yes lol she was definitely mean but there is still love between them on both sides. These girls are very young they're 11 and 9 when we meet them so it's not something that I would hold up to her further arc in the sense that just because someone doesn't get along with their little sister doesn't mean they condone senseless murder.

The Alayne storyline, again a direct callback to her earlier characterization, and again something that people try to over correct. Yes, Sansa did think less of Jon because he's a bastard. No, Sansa was not purposefully cruel to Jon. These foils in her story are how and why she's changing. After Ned dies every part of her that was once protected by the feudal system is being stripped from her one after the other.

Yandere!Five/Reader (platonic/headcanons)

the story contains: spoilers for season 4 (+ some changes in plot), yandere!five(-s), strictly platonic, five here is in his 20s (physically) and in his late 60s (mentally), overprotective old man five, soft yan!Five, OOC cuz it's yanderes 🤷

I really like to imagine Five being overprotective over someone young and still full of joy. You can be either a kid of one of his siblings, or just a random child he found during his time in The Commission. It wouldn't be that far away from reality, The Handler took little Lila and trained her to do the dirty job, no one would be surprised if that creepy woman ends up kidnapping another child born on October 1st for herself.

Either way, Five is a good familial figure. We all saw how he acts towards little Grace, making small cheering comments from time to time to his niece when she is enjoying her birthday party. I expect him to be much softer if it's someone who is always close to him and constantly tags along with Five. Let's say, he knows you enough to let you go with him at the end of Season 3, since all of his siblings left, he basically has no other choice but to be the only one who has to protect you.

At first, he might get a little irritated because of it. It's not because he finds you annoying or hates being around kids. The problem is, he is not a social person himself. He never had a proper childhood because he spent 45 years stuck in the apocalypse. Then his time in The Commission, stuck with people either invading his personal space, or always staring at him due to him being him. The man got no time for a good rest. He also got no experience in how he should take care of a kid.

Despite a good bag of problems on his back, like the fact that he is still considered a child himself because of his appearance, no job, no money, no place to stay, he somehow gets everything you need. It would probably cost him a lot of pride to sacrifice, people constantly saying «Aww, are you looking after your little sibling at such age? Where are your parents?» makes him want to say something snarky, but he would bite his tongue, since he doesn't want people to ask more questions. He is used to doing everything on his own, dealing with every trouble by no one but himself because it's how he got things done for ages. Not so surprising, Five is pretty good at it.

When he gets his job as a CIA agent, he does not get so much time to be with you, he's more busy even though he is «the one of the professional young agents», trying to investigate more and more. But I believe that he would absolutely think about you during his work, he would go nonchalantly in his mind «Should I buy them the cereal with that dumb colourful toy inside? No, that stuff has too much sugar for someone their age—», which is pretty ironic since Five has a little sweet tooth himself, knowing his famous toasts with peanut butter and marshmallows. He doesn't give you a chance to eat that stuff too much anyways, because he believes « You'll get to eat those when you grow older», while you probably pout and tug on his clothes, trying to make him share with you this tasty sweet thing with tons of deadly sugar! He will give up after a good 15 minutes of you jumping around, being noisy and whiney, so he would roll his eyes and give you like less than 1/3 of the toast, saying 'here is your half, happy now?🙄'. At least he managed to keep you quiet for some time, while he can focus on some little time of his rest.

Five wants you to be independent just like him. Mainly because he doesn't want to think about potential scenarios where you are without him, all defenseless and have no idea what to do. He will teach you everything, how to protect yourself, how to use the oven, who you should call immediately if something happens (he will probably write a phone number with a marker on your wrist, since kids tend to be forgetful and easily distracted and he does NOT take such a risk).

But Five would never push or press on you, he doesn't want to make another child assassin with childhood trauma, think of it as a grandfather taking you to the lake to teach you how to fish. He is constantly near your side, guiding gently but firmly, to you it's mostly about having fun but also learning new things. Five will praise you, give you some advice and will pet your head if you do something right. I do believe he is overprotective, that he doesn't want to even let you near anything dangerous, but he's also paranoid that if another apocalypse comes back, you should be able to survive.

When Five gets his powers back and reunites with his siblings, you will always be with him. Of course I can imagine him having a nanny to call so you would be away from all his family stuff and there is someone whom he can trust enough, but...he might trust himself more than anyone else (but also it's more interesting for the story than you being somewhere away from all the fun lol). When weird things start to happen, Five is looking for anyone even slightly suspicious. Why is this Elf Guy looking at him? Is that guy looking at YOU ? Stop looking at his kid!

Thankfully for him, you weren't around when Lila and Five stuck in that subway. But instead of spending years here, giving up on the idea of coming back home, that would never happen. Because come on, it's Five. He would never give up on coming back to his family and you, someone he also considers as a part of his family. Maybe they're not ideal, they might hate each other, sometimes even annoy him, but he would never allow himself at least a single minute of proper rest since he believes that his only priority is to come back to people he cares about.

The moment he finds the notes on how to come back, he will do it in an instant. When he sees his family safe - he is happy, even though he would hide his inner feelings. You're a little confused when he just hugs you tightly to his chest all of the sudden, sighing in relief the moment he realizes you're with him. Still the same little you, not a single change in your appearance. « Something happened?» you ask softly, carefully placing your arms around him. for some reason, it feels weird. he was never a person who could hug you just because he feels like it. the only time he might give you that it's only if you initiate it, needing comfort because you were afraid of storm or just woke up from the nightmare. « No, no, just stay like that for a little bit,» Five whispers, trying to calm his racing heart. he's thankful that this body at least can take all the stress he constantly experiences in his life. you are probably surprised and confused but he doesn't care about it now. he just came back to you after years of being apart. at least for him it was, for you — a few hours. Despite how unusual it makes you feel, you don't question it, you will give him all the comfort he deserves after whatever he went through.

A good happy ending we deserve would probably be Five (accidentally) taking you to this buffet full of his other versions. You're probably so shy and awkward to see all of them, so you stick closer to him, holding his hand. Five is a little more protective too, he doesn't trust his other selves as we know. I can imagine a little you being so scared to even make a single move, because the moment you look away, you might get lost! Is that your Five? Or is it the one who's near the other table? Why is that Five drunk? When did he find the apron?? But all of them are very nice to you. Five who works as a waiter would gladly help you to find your guardian and maybe he'll spoil you with food they serve here— Your Five is definitely not happy with how much attention you gain from.. other versions of him, but he knows that they all care the same of you.

Natasha was very anxious for you to meet her family. The avengers: because they can be a little too pushy and irritating. Especially when your new to the team. Always talking and asking you questions. They can be very overstimulating when you don’t wanna be bothered.

As well as her adoptive family: Yelena, because she’s very much like Natasha herself. Protective. Very very protective. She was scared that Yelena wouldn’t like you, even though there is nothing to not like. She just hoped Yelena would, because her sisters approval means everything to her. Luckily It all went well…Yelena is so obsessed with you. She’s your best friend. She mainly is your best-friend because you make her food. Aka mac and cheese.

Alexei, he’s such a irritable human being, Natasha loves him dearly. But she also is aware he can be too much, as well as embarrassing. Especially with childhood stories.

Melina, She was less nervous about her mom over all of them. Melina is very supportive but she can also be to out-loud if she doesn’t like something. Saying it without a care in the world. So she was nervous Melina would say something rude to you without even noticing.

Natasha is very big on touch, it’s her love language. As well as acts of service and words of affirmation. She loves telling you how much you mean to her while staring into your eyes, and then kissing you deeply. She also is obsessed with getting you things you need. Especially when you’re on your period. She loves going out and buying you what you need- including chocolates, teas and anything or any food that “helps with the pain.” She’ll get you anything you want. Just say the word.

Natasha is a total nerd- no matter what anyone says. She loves re-watching all her favorite movies and saying all the lines. It’s gotten so bad to the point she has to lie to you and say she hasn’t watched the movie yet when she most definitely has, just so you’ll watch it with her. Then a couple minutes in, you’ll hear her silently mumbling the words while mindlessly playing in your hair. Safe to say you scare the shit out of her when you call her out for lying.

Natasha is a terrible cook but she really does try. And not because she needs to please anyone. Not because she needs to prove anything. But just because she wants to. She’s always trying to help people in the kitchen. She loves watching other people cook and loves watching cooking shows. So imagining herself being able to do it is definitely a goal of hers!

Natasha never gets drunk while with you, even if you tell her it’s okay, she refuses. She’ll get a tiny bit tipsy but that’s as far as she’ll go. She always wants to be in her right mind while around you, so she can protect you. The only time she’ll get drunk is when Yelena is with the both of you, and agrees to stay sober, because she knows Yelena will protect you with her life as well.

Natasha’s favorite season out of them all is definitely fall!! She lovesss being able to just cuddle under the covers without being to hot- or too cold. But perfectly content. Plus she loves taking photos of all the pretty leaves and trees- being the nerd she is.

She fiddles with your hands a lot, 9/10 times in the conference room she’ll grab your hand, just mindlessly playing with your rings or putting her rings on your hands to play with if you don’t have any on. Just randomly outlining the creases in your hands or massaging them.

She’s always chewing gum or biting her cheek when she’s nervous or stressed. Just something to keep her mouth busy. Most of the time she’ll just walk up to you and randomly bite your thigh when your reading- as a means to distract her mouth.

She yankes the covers off of you at night- even if she doesn’t mean too. Then when she wakes up in the morning, she covers you up, wondering why you’re never covered up in the mornings.

She’s so so so fucking stubborn. You will not and can not tell this woman anything. It goes in one ear and right out the other, especially if she knows it’s something she’s not supposed to do.

Natasha is not much for PDA, but boy oh boy when you kiss her in public or put your hand on her thigh, she can’t stop the flustered look and cherry red blush from covering her face, and you live for it.

Natasha always pampers you and gives you anything you want or need. Even when you don’t know you want or need something, she does- and immediately gets it for you.

She is a huge coffee addict. It doesn’t matter what time of the day it is- she will have her coffee, when she wants it and exactly how she wants it.

Natasha is very private and sensitive about your shared relationship around her family and friends, but by no means is it a secret.

When you two are in public, she is always holding your hand, belt loop, jacket or she’s either checking around every corner and rooftop. Making sure your safe at all times.

When Natasha used to have nightmares, she would walk down to the kitchen and fix herself some coffee, nervous to wake you up with her yelps and movements if she had fallen back asleep, fallen back into her nightmare. That was used to, when you had first starting sleeping in the same room. But now, she cuddles even closer to you, sometimes even waking you up with a soft “baby” just so she knows that she’s safe as you comfort her. Telling her that your proud of her for waking you up.

Natasha never yells durning fights or disagreements. Her voice may get a little loud, and she may even shout a bit, but she never ever yells. She tells you she’ll be back and goes for walks, or car rides to calm down. Then comes back, hugs and kisses you and sits you down for a talk.

She’s OBSESSED with animals. Cats specifically. She always says she doesn’t like them, trying to be mysterious and different, but in reality you see the little pout come upon her face every time you two see a stray animal or kitten on the street.

I like your Viltrumite OC and her dynamic with Conquest. They remind me of that meme where a cute girl ordered a beer and a tough guy ordered a sweet drink but the waiter gets their drinks mixed up so they have to switch them back.

I'm pretty sure you mean Yuki, right? Cuz the only time I've drawn Mercy (my only Viltrumite OC) with Conquest was when they were beating the shit outta each other, lol. I wondered why you assumed Yuki was Viltrumite, until I looked back at that drawing of her with Conquest and realized the overlay I put on top of it made her outfit very grey-and-white. Oops! She's not a Viltrumite! She's human, born and raised on Earth. Yuki is one of those OCs where I put her into every AU and every fandom I can feasibly stick her into, lol, so if you look at my Yuki tag then you'll see a loooot of different variations of her. She's usually a good person in every world bc "sunshine and optimism" is like the core of her character in every fandom, but in Invincible I decided I wanted her to be more neutral/self serving instead (: I've got Mercy to be the good OC who wants to protect people, now Yuki gets to be mischievous and work with the bad guys because they're fun company

She's my OC where I just decided that I can do whatever tf I want, so she's an OP mary sue that wins every fight and everyone fears/respects her and all that. Probably the main reason I don't post about her a lot, I know stuff like that isn't always that well received on tumblr. But I don't care that much, it's my art blog and I get to post my super self indulgent OC doodles if I want to..

Her basic lore in the Invincible-verse is that she's immortal and has been around for a few centuries (I haven't decided exactly how long, just at least 300 years or so). She can't come back from the dead like The Immortal can, she just has a healing factor so strong that it's incredibly difficult to do enough damage to actually kill her before she's already healed from it. She can teleport, and mainly uses her dual swords to fight with. I justify her being OP as hell with the fact that she basically doesn't interact with the main plotline, like, at all. She interacts with the characters, but she doesn't really get herself involved with what's going on in the world. She's just goofin off in the background

She basically just pops up out of nowhere, messes around with people, says some cryptic shit that nobody understands at the time but will look back on later and go "ohhh", and then disappears again. Silly jester of a woman that doesn't want to work for any organization because she has no respect for the law or governments, so she's willing to break the rules to do what she wants to do. Sometimes she works with criminals, sometimes she allies with the GDA, but most of the time she's considered an eccentric but unknowable entity.

I just really like the idea of her scaring the shit out of people by popping up behind them at random. The Guardians tell her to get out of their base in Utah but she's like "wait I want one of those donuts" and they just can't catch her. They stopped trying to kick her out years ago. She's kicking her legs up on Cecil's office desk and he just sucks it up bc he wants her help on a mission or something. Silly things like that (:

I like the idea of her hanging out with Conquest, because they're both very lonely people. Yuki, like Immortal, decided a long time ago to not get too close to other people because they both know they're going to outlive them all. So she has a very friendly and approachable personality, sure, but she keeps an emotional distance from everyone. Kinda pissing people off by always cracking jokes and never being able to have a serious conversation about anything. I think her and Conquest would have met before he came to Earth, idk how, I have yet to decide on that other than the fact that Yuki proooobably has gone to other planets before (somehow). I just want him to show up on Earth in season 3 to do his job and he sees her again and goes "what the hell. how are you here" and shes like "huh? this is my planet? what are you doing here?" spider-man pointing meme style

Anby doesn't really talk that much even around her partner

But the one thing she doesn't want you to know is her job as a hollow raider

Even though you were quite strict on stuff like that

You were kind of a hollow raider too for your job as a section 6 member

But you just didn't want Anby to be hurt even though she is able to protect herself

She was strong you knew that but you were just worried about her

until a day that you heard some information about the cunning hares and how they are stuck in the hollow that you and Harumasa were meant to go to

So you both did to help those people get out

But you never knew you were going to see Anby there

You and Harumasa stop as you both spotted all the members of the cunnings hare and one of them was similar to your Partner

You saw a pink hair girl yelling at the robot man while the other was simply nibbling on some food while the cat was sitting down

Harumasa took charge as made his presence know making every single of them turn

Basically you needed to help someone who was stuck in a hollow

Belle being the helper to guide you guys through the hollow to the missing person

You knew that it was Belle but you haven't said anything yet

After this mission, you were going to visit her

But for now you were going to complete this mission

After finding the missing person and leading them out of the hollow, you decided to tell the others you were going to visit someone important

Now you were walking though Sixth street as you made it to the store that your partner and her brother own

Opening the door as the bell rung alerting Belles brother that you were here

Her brother opening the staff door slightly open as Belle rushed out to greet you

"Love! What a surprise, you usually texts me or call me if you were coming over"

"Well I need to ask you something important"

You saw how nervous Belle was

Her brother saying that he was going to go upstairs for now

Sorry for the delay. You asked mostly for Kai's so I delivered. If anyone wants more hcs about the others I can work on it some time in the future (I also have more of Kai).

Now the hcs:

• All the ninja have PTSD from everything they’ve been through

• And abandonment issues

• Cole has an eating disorder and eats when he’s stressed, this is one of the reasons he is very insecure of his weight. People online poke at him for it

• Jay's terrified of losing his loved ones again because of him. That is another reason why he went absolutely crazy post Seabound, as he thinks it was his fault Nya had to resort to sacrificing herself

• He used to be bullied for living in a junkyard before becoming a ninja and that's why he was ashamed of it

• Zane always shoves down everything wrong that happens to him (e.g being the Ice Emperor for way too long to be ok about it) because he puts the team and their needs first.

• Nya has nightmares from the time she died in skybound but doesn't tell anyone.

• She had to keep her work and love life secret from her brother for fear that he would shut her down to protect her. Her fear persisted well into s1 and that's why she felt she had to hide Samurai X even from Kai

• Lloyd still admires his uncle despite his obsession with the green ninja (and all the neglect that came with it) because he's the only relative that actually took him in

• All of the ninja have at some point hidden an injury at least once. But Kai and Nya are the ones that do it more often (Nya specially when she was samurai X), and know how to treat mild wounds because of it.

• Kai and Nya do physical activities when they’re stressed or have emotions they don’t want to process. They can do their thing like Kai working in the forge and Nya doing mechanics but they usually train, however they can go on for hours (Kai has passed out a few times)

• Kai and Zane have a very poor sense of self. Zane’s comes from him not valuing his life and thinking he’s expendable since he can be rebuilt, ignoring all the trauma that comes from getting severely hurt or “dying”. Kai has problems seeing his worth as a human being because he’s never lived for himself; everything he does is for someone else and so he thinks his value resides in what he can do for other people. 

• Kai is terrified of the idea of being alone, it’s his worst fear.

• He has THE WORST coping mechanisms and Zane is confused on how his body was able to go through all of them (Alcoholism, illegal fights, smoking…)

• Kai is an insomniac, he barely sleeps most nights and instead just waits until he passes out (He has very deep eyebags because of it but hides them with make up, covering his freckles too). He sometimes bumps into some other ninja at night since they all have fucked up sleep schedules. 

• Lloyd also has a lot of problems sleeping because of nightmares and goes to Kai or Nya’s room where he feels safer (mostly into Kai’s). Sometimes they stay up at night chilling or they try to sleep. In those cases the nights with Lloyd are the ones where Kai sleeps the most because he feels safer too.

• Kai has chronic depression because of his fucked up childhood

• Lloyd thought he had depression too for a while but it turned out to be autistic burnout because of the stress of being the green ninja. But he can’t properly rest or heal from the burnout so he’s exhausted most of the time.

• When he’s stressed Kai forgets to eat and can go days with very little food because he’s used to it from being poor in his childhood.

white guilt is a poison for a lot of reasons but as a writer it's so frustrating to see how other white writers sabotage themselves. they'll be so terrified of ever writing a character of color go through something bad that they'll strip them of any compelling backstories or situations that would prompt interesting character development. obviously steer clear of straight up torture porn in stories about character of color, especially where no white character goes through an extreme tribulation. but for fuck's sake. most readers connect with characters through their vulnerability. denying characters of color vulnerability or circumstances that we're meant to feel a connection to and compassion for... that's shitty writing. and entirely taking away conflict also removes their ability to develop and grow as characters.

for fanfiction, working with legacy characters of color... you should nearly always try to honor their backstory and how it affects them. there are some exceptions. but if theyve been through 'too much', even if it's over the top or you suspect the writers may not have treated it respectfully, the better thing is for YOU get to do the work the writers didn't. you get to humanize someone who wasn't treated well by the narrative. if you absolutely MUST tweak a backstory, use common sense employ some racial literacy. do not strip a character of all the interesting or compelling details if it undercuts the emotional weight of this character. and before you remove a backstory or even fundamentally change it, think about whether or not you can humanize this instead.

that was a rant, but this was mainly triggered by tom taylor's change of starfire's backstory. i get that she had a lot of family baggage, and it would probably make things 'simpler' for readers to take out all of the family drama and tamaranean politics. but it was a bad move. for starfire fans, her family's betrayals and tamaranean politics are interesting and compelling! just taking them out and making her an 'orphan' instead -- not to mention the disrespect of just comparing her to dick, like her conception of her own history should even remotely be associated with her ex-boyfriend, jesus fucking christ. but tom taylor didn't even change the real, exorbitant over-the-top trauma, which is the citadel enslavement or sexual assault or the psions' experiments and torture. instead he just... took away the complexity of starfire's own family playing a role, and her being singled out.

i understand the impulse to change some of her backstory. but no matter what you do, unless you take away almost everything that made her complicated and compelling -- WHICH, PLEASE DO NOT! WE DO NOT WANT HER BLANDWASHED FURTHER -- her history is tangled up in the ways that she was hurt... because it's also tangled up in all the ways she OVERCAME. im sure there are ways to respectfully alter some of the more egregious pain and things that feel like they were written with ulterior torture-porn motives or are disrespectful. but her story is of her learning to stand up for herself and anyone enslaved by oppressors. her story is ALSO about learning how to love and trust again, and that the people who love her will protect her and stand up for her when her own strength lapses. her story is about learning to find joy again after she was made into a sacrificial lamb. to close readers, this can be a beautiful story. she is one of the most humanized portrayals of a woman who was trafficked as a child, and for those of us that read closely and care, we don't want those elements totally taken away, we just want them written respectfully, with her humanity never forgotten. so we didn't want the complicated role her family played taken away, either. her family's betrayal made her story more personal and more complicated. and later, when kory is still deferring to a family that hurt her, even when they are already hurting her again... it's tragic, but interesting, and compelling, and it allows her to be humanized and sympathetic. it should tug on your heart because you know she deserves better. which means having her friends all furious with kory's family for what they did, having there be back and forth about her right to defend her family but our understanding (and her friends' understanding) that she deserves better regardless of what she's willing to do for her people -- it can be good writing! if you just kill of her family though, and take away all the blame, all the betrayal, then you take away so much of the depth and intrigue from her backstory and the karras arc and even her amnesia arc and everything that followed with new tamaran and ph'yzzon and the sun-eaters.

this has turned into a starfire ramble as always but... it just really irks me, the way he casually disintegrated so much of kory's depth with a handful of panels. as though she didn't have one of the most thorough and interesting backstories of the new teen titans, with the most consistent arcs and conflicts about freedom, trauma, unexamined rightful resentment over betrayal, and learning to find joy again.

for fandom, i find it even more frustrating. i know that not everyone knows kory's backstory inside and out. even i find out new things that i missed when rereading ntt or other titans runs, or wading back into the dreaded new52 run (...which i still maintain can be re-examined and fixed without that much effort. kory's part, at least. jason's part of rhato was godawful slop and roy was almost as bad). but i think the most frustrating part of being a kory fan in the dc fandom is the way that she's just overlooked and made into a support.

she'll nebulously be there as a voice to advocate for freedom. or she's a perfect girlfriend and emotional comfort to her boyfriend and friends. but so few fics really humanize her or give her the appropriate depth. i would kill for more fics where it's even alluded to, that she's overcome so much. but when we ask fandom why they don't want to even indirectly reference these things, the answer from a lot of white fans is what i mentioned at the very start. they're afraid of doing it wrong; they're afraid of putting a woman, let alone a woman of color, into a bad situation. but playing pretend, like they're meant to be nothing but smiling exceptional beings who burst from the ground fully formed without any backstory or complicated past... removing anything icky makes for shallow characters. and kory is anything but shallow.

i guess what im saying is, when working with legacy characters, don't just take away traumatic elements you find distasteful. to me, it's better to find a way to humanize the character through it instead.

(to be clear this is about backstories and trauma and things done to them, NOT about character choices. i'm advocating to reasonably keep most elements but always humanize them and treat trauma respectfully. we need a separate conversation entirely for whether or not to entirely remove a characters's out-of-character randomly-evil actions. this is also a completely separate conversation to the discussion we should have on dc's habit of writing women of color as sexual temptresses and sexual assailants. for those, i don't care if this is unpopular but i'd advocate for erasing those moments and characterizations from the canon and fanon entirely. not because men are never sexually assaulted, but partially because 1) in fanon these get an unreasonable amount of attention, as well as endless vitriol to the assailants, compared to women who've been assaulted in the same continuities. this echoes the idea that it's worse when men get raped than when women get raped, which is misogyny. and 2), fanon has gotten very comfortable with weaponizing racist stereotypes and racialized violence when writing reaction-fic to talia, miriam, catalina, nyssa, tana, and others, when a white boy or white-passing boy is their canon victim. i would argue that removing these stories from the continuity is generally the better choice in this case. fanfiction will always exist and no one is saying no one is allowed write those stories if that's really what they want to focus on. but i think in general, most of them can be axed and i wouldn't lose sleep over them in the way i lose sleep over other traumas being removed. when women of color are being thrown to the wolves and endlessly the aggressors... let alone being made aggressors to situations they're usually the victims irl...? it's usually a sign that something has gone wrong in your writing.)

[Going through basically every step] Renee Murray x FTM Reader

I always refer to Renee and [Name] as their current pronouns and will only refer to them as their former terms when referring to something they said when they were younger/at the age they used those terms. 

Heads up, Writing this is confusing for me because the OL’s school grade system is vague for my understanding, so the timeline might be confusing or it’s just me…

[Name] and Renee.

The two most fucking oblivious people in the whole world.

Even Tamarack noticed. 

Renee and [Name] have been the closest of friends since elementary school. 

Sure, not at the very beginning when they met considering that [Name] was born female and only realized he was trans in High school. Renee, back in the 5th grade when she’d met [Name], wasn’t a huge fan of girls. She thought that girls were a distraction, envy covered with disinterest in anyone who identified as a girl and some internalized misogyny perchance. 

It only took a couple weeks for Renee to finally get used to [Name]’s attempts in starting their friendship, and I mean it took effort. Renee’s stubborn, no doubts about it. So when they met [Name], all she could think was ‘what a dumb girl. I’m never going to be friends with her!’ and made it their mission. 

Unsurprisingly, [Name] can also be stubborn with a mission. 

He made origami animals, brought a handful of nature from Tamarack’s backyard, and post-it notes to put in an envelope. Then it would be safely secured in [Name]’s bag until Renee would visit her mom’s classroom or when the group would hang out to be delivered into Renee’s hands. 

And for 3 weeks, this went on and on until Qiu convinced Renee to at least try being friends, which somehow worked. 

[Name] took the illusory award of Renee’s friendship with pride, making sure to enjoy every aspect. [Name] had invited her to his house countless times, had figured out every single little thing that Renee enjoys or hates based on observation (because god forbid Renee ever talk about her feelings), made gifts for her, and visited her class whenever possible as the years passed on. In return, Renee gradually began to return those actions, and more. Inside jokes, getting each other food, leaning on each other both physically and emotionally, and always being protective of one another. 

So imagine Renee’s horror when [Name] was starting to “haunt” her mind. [Name] was suddenly the person that Renee imagined being roomies with, wanting to hang out with him constantly, occasionally getting jealous if anyone ever tried to get as close as she and [Name] are.

“I can’t like her!”  She had complained, “She’s… her.” Renee didn’t want to lose her best friend. The one person who she understood and cared for the most, more than she did for Qiu. Hell, anyone else should’ve been her crush, but [Name]? This was going to fucking hurt if this goes wrong. So Renee made a promise to herself that this growing realization was never leaving the mind palace. This is gonna be a pain.

Little did she know that [Name] was juggling those same thoughts as well… just… differently. 

“They’re never going to like me! I’m going to have to explain so much. What if they don’t like me? What if my transition changes things?” [Name] doubted, “and then what? We just, what, go on dates? Or would we stay only friends? No one’s prepared me for this!”

So baby steps.

[Name] came out to Renee, Tamarack, and Qiu on bowling night that [Name] forced them on.

“I’m trans.” He states simply as he came back from a roll.

“You missed.” “Congrats!” “What?” The trio all said in a jumbled mess. [Name]’s eyes were mainly stuck on Renee’s reaction, noticing how her look turned soft. No judgment, no bitter or distant look… more so a sense of pride and ease. [Name] sat back down next to Renee while it was Qiu’s turn, getting a firm comforting side hug from Renee. 

She’s the prettiest person [Name] had ever seen.

And [Name] was the most handsome person Renee had ever seen.

Two years later, on Renee’s birthday, [Name] was the last person to stay for the party. The both of them sitting on Renee’s front porch, a smoky feel to the autumn air, faint smell of cinnamon coming from the Murray household. Renee paused for a moment, opening and closing her mouth, trying to find the right words for something. 

“How’d you figure out your whole… trans thing?” Renee asks softly, the words barely wanting to escape her. 

“Oh- uhm” [Name] straightens his back, furrowing his brows to think.

Renee catches how sudden the question is, groaning into their hands before muttering out a quick “Sorry, sorry. You don’t have to answer- and maybe wrongly worded, I just… you’re the only one I could imagine asking this to, so…”

“It’s okay, it’s okay, Renee! Let me think” [Name] reassures, looking away before explaining every thought and personal feeling that they felt safe to share with Renee. A small gut feeling in [Name] knew there was a reason she had asked, but he knew it wasn’t his place to prod. Even if there was a cautious approach to her voice that probably said it all in hindsight. All [Name] knew was that he had to give her space and a chance to open up if necessary.

“--So yeah. That’s when I decided I had to tell you guys.” [Name] shrugged, looking back at Renee. 

A small moment of silence followed afterwards, uncertainty painting Renee’s face. It almost made [Name] wonder if he said something wrong until he felt Renee place her head on his shoulder. 

“...Thank you for telling me” she exhaled sharply, her upper body going slightly limp as to try and relax herself.

Renee was the kindest soul that [Name] had ever met.

And [Name] was the most patient boy Renee had ever met. 

Once in their 20s, high school over with and their futures now fully in their own hands, the dating rumors were finally over with. Sure, Qiu and Tamarack were the main instigators, but it was surely not because they saw something that Renee and [Name] refused to see!

So what if Renee finally came out and the first person they told was [Name] and they both went out to celebrate at the diner? So what if Renee and [Name] were making plans to room together in an apartment? So what if [Name] bakes sweets for Renee, and Renee cooks for [Name]? And what if Renee and [Name] are each other’s closest “oh-so-definitely platonic soulmates”?

It isn’t like Renee had told Qiu about her crush, nor did [Name] tell Tamarack…

Definitely not.

No.

Never. 

It’s not like Qiu and Tamarack connected the dots in middle school and have tried everything in their power to get the two of them to finally just get together.

“You have to tell her” Tamarack huffed, messaging her forehead, “She totally likes you!”

“It’s going to eat me alive if she rejects me! What if we stop being friends?” [Name] whined.

“What if you guys end up getting together and having the most loving relationship for the rest of your lives?” Tamarack exclaimed.

“How would I even start? Just go up and say ‘I’ve had a crush on you since we were in middle school! Surprise!’” Renee ran a hand through her hair and tugged lightly, 

“Yes!” Qiu yelled out, “That’s almost perfect!”

“I can’t fuck this up, Tammy” [Name] sighed

“Then don’t. Go up to her.”

Imagine me this. It’s a Sunday night in Golden Grove’s park after dinner at a restaurant. Two people with one single goal in mind. Confess their fucking hearts out. Both of them unusually dressed up more formal than normal, fidgeting hands, nervous glances and laughter, but the comfortableness between two people who have known each other for years makes it bearable. 

These love dorks were [Name] and Renee. 

The only ones sitting on a bench, sitting in odd positions but deeming it comfortable somehow, (though it may be the reason they have back problems) and on the verge of exploding over how terrifying and exciting this is. 

“Renee-” “[Name]” They start

“Shit, sorry. Go ahead” [Name] bowed his head slightly. Renee cleared her throat, “Right, so… I think that you should know that I think your presence is great.”

“That’s good to know” [Name] chuckles,

“...Would you say you feel about the same?”

“I would die for you” [Name] states seriously at first, blank face before smiling to make sure that it was a lighthearted comment (but he probably would,) “But yeah, of course I enjoy your presence. We’ve been partners in crime for… basically our entire lives”

“Right right-”

“And you know, we might as well be together for the rest of our lives because we’re gonna live together, and I like you, and if you like me too we could get better tax returns if we ever got married–” [Name] began to ramble.

“What?” Renee raised a brow.

“I mean- maybe you don’t like me! We could still get married to get those tax returns- or not get married at all!” [Name] panics throughout the confession, “And by me liking you isn’t because of the tax returns! I really do just like you, I have for years, like middle school or highschool, but I didn’t want to scare you away and have to make all those origami animals all over again! Fuck, this is not how I wanted this to go–”

[Name] hides his face into his hands for a moment, groaning in disbelief towards himself, “I like you. That’s what I was trying to get at. I made it a lot more difficult than needed”

“I saw that” Renee giggled, flicking [Name]’s shoulder, “That may have been the most dorkiest or worst confession I have ever heard in my entire life, I’m still debating.”

“I’m sorry, I shouldn’t have-” [Name] was interrupted.

“Now I’m not saying I don’t like you, [Last Name]. I’m just saying that your confession was out of this world. Not that I was going to do better than that either, but you know,” Renee shrugs, “I like you. I have for years now too…”

[Name] finally gains the courage to lift his eyes up to look at Renee, “Seriously?”

“Very seriously. You’re very important to me, [Name]. The most handsome man I’ve ever met, the boy I grew to love, someone I didn’t think I’d love or wait this long for, but you made every second worth it.” Renee gives a small smile, breathing in the foggy autumn feel. 

“I think we’re soulmates” [Name] says plainly, “Because no matter what would've happened, if in some alternate universe there was some kind of obstacle that tried to stop us from being together, we would’ve found a way back to each other no matter what. I know I would.” [Name] adds, placing his hand over Renee’s hand. 

They both exchange a gentle look, Renee’s fingers play with [Name]’s rings, intertwining their hands together. They lean in closer, and the giddy feeling of waiting after so many years practically swallows [Name] whole. 

It wasn’t a shock to find that Renee was a gentle kisser, cautious to make sure that they’re both enjoying it, occasionally splitting away and coming back, as if still starving for more affection. Eyes closed, feeling their hands still together… Each other’s first kiss. 

Two people that will always try to understand each other. Two people who don’t even need to try and find the beauty within one another because they see it constantly no matter what.

Super-Frisk Origins

Frisk didn’t remember how she got there, but she had fallen down a hole, one that led her into the Underground. Travelling through and going on her adventure, she freed the monsters, solved the puzzles and explored through the mystery. only occasionally having signs of potentially more power than she thought she had, fighting monsters she should have had no chance against but never giving in to the darkness, to the evil…to the L.O.V.E...

When the monsters were freed and they all together got to see that sun, they admired it, all her new friends seeing freedom and the life they always wanted ahead…Frisk on the other hand felt…different, odd…seeing things she’d never seen before, her soul transforming and morphing as the sun hit her mind body and soul. Questions about herself flooded her past visions she couldn’t recall before entering her mind leaving her confused…lost…alone. So…she left. Disappeared for a few years as the group split up. During this time, Frisk learned about her powers, grew up, from that young girl with a huge responsibility on her shoulders to a woman. Once she’d gotten accustomed enough and able to control them, she had a choice. She could keep her powers and her reset. Or…she could accept that as her past and move on with who she is. What she can do and become something else. Frisk made up her mind as she accepted her powers, accepting she was special but choosing to do nothing. She later returned to the city she’d left so long ago to live a normal life. Frisk had spent those earlier days growing up with Toriel in the countryside, but now she lived in the city, in her own apartment to make a name for herself.

She took the job of ambassador, but being honest? It was a useless position mainly offered to look good. She was treated like an extra secretary more than anything, although she did take the chance to catch up and see what had become of her old friends. Particularly, Sans & Papyrus. Sans had used his intelligence to take a high position in another company as head of R&D. Papyrus on the other hand, still wanted to protect people, so he began roaming the streets as the Skeleton Commander, standing for truth & justice as he fought and stopped small crimes & helped civilians. Sans went out of his way to make Papy a proper suit so he’d fit the part and be protected from any attacks any human could realistically have against him. It’s what Sans designed the suit for first and foremost. Especially with Papy’s powers it wasn’t too much of a risk. At least until…The man in black arrived.

No one knew his face, or what he was doing this for but he was too strong. Flying around causing massive destruction to the city, citizens suffering and dying, until it saw Frisk, who was just coming out of work. The man in black dashed at her, a punch to finish her off. Frisk however stood frozen, stuck because of fear…more accurately indecisive, and afraid to use her powers. But The skeleton commander didn’t know this. All he knew was his friend was in danger, that was good enough for him as he jumped in front of her and took the blow. The suit wouldn’t be able to protect him from another hit, but Papyrus didn’t think of it. Giving the man in black a warning, the man found it ridiculous as he lined up and launched himself again for another super punch, but as he hit a fatal blow, Papyrus had him close enough to use his ultimate attack. Something Frisk didn't get a good look at, but when she looked and the smoke cleared, The man in black was gone, but Papyrus was on the floor, happy that he’d saved his friend but dying. Frisk in tears assured him that she was safe, that he’d saved her. Papy was happy to hear that he was a hero, a soldier until the very end, with a final sigh he passed on, The armor and suit of the Skeleton Commander being all that remained.

Sans was devastated, He & Frisk reconnected during this time and Frisk was angry, angry at herself, she in her cowardice let this happen, she had tried to ignore this responsibility, to just not have to use her powers but it cost her, Now? She had to act, to do the right thing. Frisk asked Sans for help. Sans was hesitant at first, but for the memory of his brother? He’d do it. Creating the first version of her costume, symbolizing her new soul on her chest, as Super Frisk was born.

Bat parents are divorced  after the fourth kid they realize that things wasn’t gonna work out. Also they used to argue a lot about money about the kids, and then eventually they divorce. Her mother got full custody of her and her three brothers, and at first life was OK. Her mother was actually the good parent before the divorce with being a single parent with four kids, and a ex-husband who isn’t really the best supporter I can’t really get to a person and her mother started to kind of spiral down her mother had some form of depression but she would always try to ignore it but after a while, she just couldn’t ignore it no more and all the frustration sadness and anger just came to her. She started drinking and then drinking lead to smoking, and then that led to her bringing over bad men she would get mad at her kids whenever she’s high or drunk, mainly blaming them for ruining her body or ruining her life even though it was her choice to bring in for kids at her life  she would hit the twins bats brothers and that never hit the little brother because he was only five the mother would get mad at bat for so-called tempting the men she would bring over, but none of those men did anything to her bat was only 10 when all of this started to happen, and it took her father seeing the bruises on his kids, to make a report to the court and to child protective service. Her father isn’t a terrible man, but he’s not the best he was young both him, and her mother was very young when they had Bat brothers and her  but that doesn’t excuse for what they did  eventually the her father would get custody of her and her brothers, and then they would move to Eltingville to get away from the mother .

When they moved to Eltingville bat became mute. She was so hurt and mentally affected by what her mother did, and said to her, it took three years to get her to talk again because of Gayle, Gayle was kind of forced to leave her childhood home, which her grandparents, Farm, and home just to make bat feel comfortable and safe again Gayle is the same age bat.

 When bat was 14 she was walking to school with Gayle in the car pulled up black car and there was three people in it. All adults mainly young adults like 18 to 19 one of the people was nickname Hades he liked bat  He saw something great in her sick bastard, he gave her a cassette with a mix of alternative, but mostly goth music, and told her to come around or hang out, sometimes which she did poor girl, but that day on she became bat. 

As bat got older, and hang out with these three people  hades and the other two they got her to drink and smoke  mainly she drinks more because it was easier to get alcohol back then, then weed. Gayle would always try to get bat to stop smoking and drinking, but she would never listen drinking to her It like her coping mechanism whenever she thought about her mother or other things that make her feel bad or wrong. She just drinks the pain away and if you’re wondering where her brothers are well let’s just say she has a blackmail  against them so that’s why they never tell their dad or never tell her and she’s also sneaky she’s not stupid she knows how to get around and keep secrets from her family even from Gayle. bat sometimes thing about killing herself, because besides her family and the people, she surrounds herself with she really has no one  in her head Eventually she’ll cut off Hades and his friends  and when she does, she feels a little bit more free, but it also means she becomes dependent on someone else. She’s a very emotional person, but she doesn’t let her emotions out in a healthy way. She lets them out in anger. She’s very bad anger issues when she was in high school and even now the one true person I was able to let her be her true self let her be angry be toxic be cruel is bill. …



After she cut off Hades, bill was there to comfort her in a weird way, even though he doesn’t really like her that much and she doesn’t like him after that day something happened to them where they grew a connection a dependent on each other in a weird and sad way if it wasn’t for bill then who knows what would’ve happened too bat in the future maybe she got better or maybe she died  the only reason why she doesn’t kill herself is because of Gayle, she doesn’t want to make Gayle sad or feel like Gayle wasted her time being there for her because she knows that Gayle was forced to hang out with her. She knows that Gayle misses her family back at the farm, but Gayle always tells bat that if it wasn’t for her she would have never met the club.

Oh, Hades did nothing to bat that was extreme he never got close to sleeping with her because she stop that shit right away, and after she cut him off, he was scared of her because she kind of stabbed him in the face and ripped out his tongue piercing

I think they'd all be very protective of each other always and forever tbh, and considering how shitty Sasha and Marcy's families were (I at least headcanon them that way) they're all used to being on the watch for people who would hurt them and standing up for each other. Of course, being queer already puts a target on your back, but I suppose since this is LA that may be less of a problem (LA is supposed to be progressive, right? Ah, I live in an extremely progressive city in terms of gender and sexuality and I still feel under threat 24/7 so who knows how private they'd want to be?). Being three women in a polyamorous relationship may be the thing people cling to to harrass them. They mainly don't take them seriously, and either ascribe it to being an unhealthy trauma response (an obsessive, codependent relationship) or a childish game they'll eventually grow out of to enter real relationships perhaps with men oops

So their shitty exes probably mock them more than anything. That is, if they go out of their way to say anything. It's just as likely that Sasha will boldly walk up to them and start a fight simply from hearing Anne or Marcy mumble something about an ex sitting there in the other booth. Not that Sasha never finds herself in the position of being defended - I HC she used to date more guys than girls before finally getting together with her girls, which means she'd rather deal with the worst of her exes herself, no need to expose her beautiful girls to gross boys and men. So imagine her surprise when Anne and Marcy jump to scare off the guy insisting on getting back together with her, just showing up on either side of her holding onto her arms and letting him know she's very much taken. This probably happened more than once, each time being the moment they (her exes) realize she was serious about being bisexual 😭 unless she's now dating girls to spite them specifically, another common assumption. Typical cishet man behavior. What else is new. Anyway. Sasha now has to get used to the feeling of being Protected (and wanted! wanted! wanted!)

As for Anne and Marcy, lesbians that they are, probably had these huge dramatic breakups that were definitely influenced by their past trauma. I imagine Anne might have dated around a lot more than Marcy, and I remember this HC going around abt Marcy having only had one long term relationship before that ended on her being cheated on (betrayed! betrayed! betrayed!) so that's what I'm going for. Whoever this is is probably back in Massachusetts so random meetings in LA are unlikely, though that doesn't stop Sasha and Anne from stalking her online after hearing Marcy's story and maybe being less than nice to her on Twitter. Their accounts get suspended but it's worth it.

Anne on the other hand... she went through a comphet phase in highschool so you got some shitty ex boyfriends to pick up from there, though the worst were girls from college. None of them were that bad - she's good at setting and enforcing boundaries and can usually tell pretty early on when someone is alright, but still, she got the average highschool experience of being cheated on once or twice (though she didn't care much), and then the not so average college experience of your girlfriend plagiarizing your research paper. The offense may seem less personal, but it made Anne so much more mad. The screaming matches were legendary. The fact that it happened like three times is what got her to stop dating until she was out of college, but by then, like three of her exes were colleagues she had to work with, and they've become sooooo passive-aggressive. Kept talking shit about her to other colleagues too. If they found their tires slashed one day after Anne got rejected for a research project, you can guess pretty easily who were resposible.

I wanna talk about people fighting for Zaun. Bc i feel like they did interesting things as a show.

Vander.

Made a deal with the sheriff. That helped protect the people but wasn't good for the progres sof Zaun as a community/economy.

Silco.

Helped the economy of Zaun. But this really only benefitted the chem barons and himself. The people of Zaun were thrown into addiction and further into poverty.

Sevick.

Never really helps zaun on her own. She will have the opportunity now as a council member. But she mainly helped who she thought was Xauns best choice as a leader; Vander, Silco, then Jinx.

Chem barons.

We don't see them too much. But pretty sure they were kidnapping children in s2. Using child labor. And creating shimmer. So not helping Zaun.

Jayce.

He is interesting. Bc he fights for Zaun for a minute. Then, he kills a kid. And gives up. Then decides the best option is to hand zaun over to Silco. Who is not helping Zaun either. So he is just kinda throwing the problem away instead of working to fix it.

Viktor.

WANTS to help Zaun. But never does. Bc of piltover politics, hextech is to help piltover first. And jayce doesn't help in this matter.

The Council.

Not helping Zaun. Also SUPER ignorant to what is going on. Bc the last 2 sheriff's made deals with Zaunites to keep the council out of their business.

Cassandra Kiramman.

She cleaned the air. She is definitely ignorant of what is going on. But used her power and money to clean the air of Zaun bc she believed they deserved clean air.

Vi.

Doesn't help Zaun. Listen. This isn't a shot. It makes perfect sense. She gives herself up in s1 to stop a war between Zaun and piltover, bc of Powder. She always picks her family first. And then she spends 7 years in prison and is released into a world she doesn't know. She has no obligation to Zaun and I do not expect her to fight for Zaun.

Ekko.

Fights for Zaun. Like fully. Best boy. He is trying to stop the distribution of shimmer. But. Here is Ekkos but. He isn't powerful enough to stop it/ take on silco. He is focused on a brighter future. And it trying his hardest.

Caitlyn.

Ooo caitlyn. Actually, tries to help Zaun. Don't freak. It's true. She completes 2 of her 3 goals. Eliminates shimmer production. And the chembarons. Which is 2 things that are not good for the people of Zaun. Her methods are ehhh. But in reality. Ekko couldn't stop the source of his issues being shimmer, silco, and the chem barons. But Caitlyn does. But she also helps ambessa with martial law. Which is bad. But then she stops the use of solitary cells in stillwater. She also is the person who gives them a council seat.

Caitlyns journey with Zaun to me is so interesting. Bc in s1. We see her eyes open and her want to help is there. Then Jinx kills her mother. And she STRUGGLES. understandable. And she makes bad decisions. But then at the end she's making decisions to help zaun.

Jinx.

Helps Zaun on Accident. Yes. It needs to be said. Love her. But she had zero intentions of helping them. She becomes a symbol of hope bc she's the zaunite who attacked piltover TWICE and didn't get caught. But the first time was literally in anger about what they had done to her. And the second time was bc they were looking for her. When asked to help Zaun she said no. In fact she only helps AFTER Isha gets kidnapped. Then walks into those cells like a hero. When the only reason she is there is for Isha.

She is like Katniss Everdeen. Her goals are like survive and help little sister. And everyone around them are like... wow what a rebellious symbol. And I love this about them both. It's so real. Like i feel like alot of people who are symbols. Dont choose to be. And thats Jinx.

I just kinda wanted to talk about this. And see what other people thought. Mainly bc I feel like there is this standard of who helped zaun. And so much is overlooked or embellished.

Metaphor Archetype Swap Post

Just a post of my Archetype swap and some small notes on the various characters and their roles in it because It Seemed Fun Okay? Some are direct swaps, others are more like. A circle of swapping. Open to questions always and all that good stuff but still. Lets-a go!

Seeker: Lilith / Louis

Unlike in canon, Louis was taken in my Hermitess Gruidae following the Sanctist attack on the village, leaving him living among the Elda for much longer than in canon. In this I picture the story starts when he finally sneaks away from it and goes to learn more about the world and spread his knowledge to those who listen. Too bad Gallica happened to follow after... Lilith on the other hand in a stand-in for More because to me that familial connection between the one who awakens to Seeker and the follower link is important. A strange woman whose Akademia takes on the appearance of an old library that once stood in the Elda village, she has the face of a woman Louis barely remembers. (Bonus the voice that speaks rather than being the Eldan Queen would likely be his father to match Lilith being his mother).

Warrior: Basilio

A young man who once lived in an orphange with his brother and various others. When it mysteriously burned, he found himself turning to the igniter experiments to try and survive. After that also went south he ended up adopted by Fabienne, though Brigitta often did most of the raising due to her work in the military. At the start of the story I imagine he's the one with reason to get to the Northen Fortress, needing to speak with Fabienne ASAP.

Mage: Gallica (Universal Constant)

Gallica is still the Mage Follower here and still trying to keep the Seeker on the right path. But with no cursed Prince and no direct goal, she's mainly trying to show Louis that there's more to life than raw strength and making sure he doesn't spill the beans on things like the source of Humans to the wrong people. Save her.

Healer: Maria (Universal Constant)

Technically an orphan adopted by Fabienne and/or Brigitta after her mother died and, for her safety, her father had to leave her behind. A kind girl of mixed heritage, she just wants to help everyone out and doesn't understand why others seem to hate her so.

Knight: Fidelio

Older brother of Basilio and adoptive son of Fabienne, he went into the military after her out of admiration and a want to follow in her footsteps. He's stationed elsewhere before the King's funeral and returns to help guard it. When he loses Fabienne he begins to question what he's doing with his life and why he puts his life on the line the way he does. Maybe Louis and Basilio hold that answer.

Brawler: Glodell

A fellow who believes that might makes right, very similar to Louis's own POV before Gallica, Bas, and Del start making him see more nuance. He runs for King here like in canon, but never seems to be able to beat the Elda who appeared out of the blue one day...

Merchant: Milo

This one is one I have less ideas for I will be real for you. Something with his igniter shop and self-absorption being at least partially a mask to try and protect himself, only for Louis to throw a big spanner in the works or something. We're working on it.

Gunner: Lina

The youngest and only girl of the Kayden family, Lina often finds herself feeling ignored and looked down upon by others. When Del commissions her to help sweep their group across Euchornia she jumps at the chance. A pupil of Neuras in this verse, who has taken to running for the throne himself. She wants to make his dream a reality not only to prove herself capable but her mentor not crazy.

Thief: Zorba

A mixed tribe man who made his home in Martira after losing his mother and father to racist mobs in their home village. For a time, things went well... Until the vanishings of various children were pinned on him and he was forced to flee. Despite this he stays nearby, wanting to find the true culprit and clear his name. But that's hard to do when he cannot leave the shadows. Not until others drag him out of them.

Faker: Loveless

A paripus happy to lean into the easy-going partygoer people see him as. As it turns out, however, he's doing it for good reason. The money he can snag off the various rich partygoers tend to help him support his hometown, though it doesn't come without enemies...

Commander: Rudolf

The xenophobic guard captain of Martira, despite his less than ideal actions he does keep the town running smoothly. When Zorba is proven innocent and the people are saved by an Elda, he's forced to confront these world-views and Louis is there every step of the way to revel in it.

Masked Dancer: Rella

Not under the thumb of Forden, Rella has a bit more freedom in life. Mostly in the form of rebelling against her parents and what they want of her, albeit in little ways. A beloved saint across all of Euchronia, she finds herself running into Louis's party quite a bit. Currently seems to be under the employ of the Prince, but how much of that is truly her intention and how much is a mask?

Summoner: Edeni

Leader of the Mustari in the Virga Isles, Edeni is working tirelessly to find a way to save Eupha. Eventually going as far as to send her as a candidate for the throne in hopes of delaying what seems inevitable. When she returns ready to be a sacrifice, he finds himself trapped in the temple rather than her and willing to take her place if that is what it takes. Louis and company have... other plans.

Berserker: Hulkenberg

Loyal to the Prince from a young age, you'd be hardpressed to find someone who believes in him more. Of course, that is before others sweep in and begin making her... question more about her life than she would like. Arvid, like a father to her, seems staunch in his belief in the Prince and so she will be too. At least, that's the plan...

Main Antagonist: Prince

Never put under a wasting curse, the Prince of Euchronia has been able to grow like any other child. That does not mean his life was safe or that Forden would not still push for more control, however. And because of that he becomes bitter towards the world. He wears horns to legitimize his claim to the throne, seeing himself as a messiah that will save the people (by turning them into Humans. Don't worry about it). Too bad dear ol' dad had other plans, huh?

Dies trying to kill the main Antagonist: Fabienne

(This is the Grius role in case it's not clear) A soldier for some time, Fabienne has watched the dark path the Prince has been going down and has done what she can to stop it. By the time the story starts and with the King dead, however, she doesn't see much choice but to try and put him down before he can cause more harm. This goes about how you would expect.

Antagonist’s Most Loyal Soldier: Strohl

(Zorba Role) After the burning of Halia, Strohl finds himself saved by the Prince and becomes loyal to him to a fault. He will do anything to make his vision a reality, seeing whatever is to come as something that will save him from the horrors that have become his life.

Antagonist’s Prick Follower: Catherina

(Glodell role I am calling him a prick not Catherina I promise) A somewhat independent runner for the crown, Catherina has known the Prince for years and finds herself feeling as though she lives in his shadow. She's willing to do anything to gain the upper hand. Anything.

Berserker’s Lost Special Person: Grius

(Del Role) The tutor turned personal guard of the Prince and like a father to Hulkenberg, Arvid Alces has seen many a thing. He is loyal to the Prince, to the very end. But even in his old age he can learn new things, and Louis is happy to teach him...

Hushed Honeybee Owner: Brigitta

(Fabienne Role) The owner of the Hushed Honeybee Inn, Brigitta is no stranger to people worried of the eventual succession using her place as a base. She even helps from time to time, when not dealing with customers or making sure Maria (and in the past Basilio) grow up right. Does she have a thing with Fabienne? Uncle Ben IDK.png

Girlie Pop in the church’s pocket: Junah

(Rella role in case it's not clear) Better known as the starlet Junah, she's a propaganda machine for Forden and Sanctism in general. This isn't a job she likes, mind you, but it's the only way she can avoid being disowned by her family. Rella, of course, does not know. Propaganda might not be the only thing she's been used for, however...

Mustari Candidate: Eupha

Priestess of the Mustari, Eupha was never meant to leave the Virga Isles, but Edeni had other plans. She runs on the same platform Edeni did in canon, and is quite successful for a time. When her brother becomes trapped within the Dragon Temple, she has little choice but to beg the party for help. When he is safe, she can fufill her duty... Or so she thinks.

Portrait Having Candidates: Alonzo, Neuras, Bardon, Heismay

(You know those guys I made Followers? These are their replacements) Don't have much here yet, either. Neuras runs on a platform of focusing on technology and growth there for sure. Other's I'm still working on but they don't really matter nearly as much to this AU so it's fine. It's fine.

Besides Yoongi, which BTS member would be protective of Himari? What kind of moments would they have together?

The most protective after her own brother would be J-Hope since he acted as some sort of brother to her, then her best friend Jungkook, Taehyung who's gone through mental health struggles like her, RM who spent a lot of time getting to know her just to interact with her comfortably, Jimin who has a more casual friendship with her and finally Jin who has full faith in her strength and knows he doesn't have to worry about her as much anymore

J-Hope protects her against anything that moves much like Yoongi does, always on alert whenever the two go out together despite the maknae herself being relatively carefree. If they are in rooms around other people he will stand somewhere he can keep an eye on her and never misses a beat to intervene when he feels there is even a semblance of danger or strangeness in her interaction with someone else. A good example of his protectiveness is when funeral wreaths were sent to the HYBE building as protest against the scooter DUI case; when he realized she was in front of them he ran outside and pulled her into his chest to shield her from the people present, quickly rushing her inside and making sure there wasn't a scratch on her

Jungkook knows that nowadays there is not much to worry about when it comes to threats to her life - unlike at the beginning of her career - and worries mainly for her health, making sure she rests, bringing her medicine, checking in often, etc. He does get very touchy when it comes to people wanting to get close to her especially if they are strangers to either one of them and makes sure to stand slightly ahead of her in case this person happens to have ill intentions. He's basically her 'scary dog privilege'. As her best friend it's his job to watch over most aspects of her life but since they share everything with one another, he knows that she's strong enough to protect herself in certain situations

Taehyung is protective over anything that could harm her mental health, attuned to every single tell that would denounce her being in a negative headspace, and while it took a while to learn so much about her he was determined to protect her. While no one other than J-Hope was supposed to know what happened between Himari and Yoongi, he overheard it in the hospital and decided to protect her inner child that day

RM is quite affected by his position as a leader when it comes to his protectiveness over her so he mainly makes sure that no hate from outside can get into her life, assuring she is educated about a lot of things in the world so that she will be able to avoid certain situations. Physical protectiveness is something they all share and while he is not always tightly glued to her side he always has an eye on her. He kind of has a 'teacher' role in her life in the sense that they often have philosophical talks, deep discussions about books, etc.

Jimin is aware that the maknae is no longer the child they all saw wailing in their dorm because she felt abandoned and is less protective against things such as online hate but remains suspicious of most people going through any of them in order to interact with her. Much like the other members, he does not leave her side whenever they are outside together but is less alert about potential dangers lurking around

Jin was very protective of her when she was younger but feels like she is now able to take care of herself, though she he found out she was going through depression he was very attentive to everything she did. He also places a lot of trust in her members when it comes to protecting her since they're the ones that are with her every day (he WILL remind them that they better care for her well though)

DB Character Headcannons☠♡★♡♡♡☠

Ima start with Festus Krex - I personally headcannon that he was a priest of Julianos in his past, but always leant towards violence. After murdering his wife, he was cast out of the religion, and this is when he joined the Dark Brotherhood in Cyrodiil. He must have left Cyrodiil long before the start of Skyrim though, since he never met Cicero. Here I like to think he attacked and killed another member, and fled before anyone could work out it was him. He's definitely the most violent member we meet, and I don't think he feels any remorse.

Next victim: Gabriella. Obviously, Gabriella migrated into Skyrim from Morrowind after the eruption of Red Mountain. However, was she part of the Dark Brotherhood...? Out of all the members, she is one of the most zealous about the Old Ways, and constantly finds ways to remind you. What if she was actually a member of the Morag Tong, but fled to Skyrim after the eruption and (only knowing one skill) poised as a member of the Dark Brotherhood?

Nazir. Well, I headcannon that he's the accountant of the guild (as he deals with all the contracts as they come in and pays you and such, plus he has an overall tired accountant aura). And the chef, of course. But how did he get these skills...? I personally think he embezzled funds from the Alik'r Warriors. He's never actually killed anyone - Astrid assumed he had, but since he was always too busy doing paper work, she never put him to the test.

Aaand Arnbjorn! I don't like Arnbjorn. But that doesn't mean he's a bad character. I actually think he's a nice husband to Astrid - he's protective over her because he knows about her past, he hates Cicero because he thinks (rightly) that he is a threat to Astrid.

Astrid herself! Astrid was deprived of power in her early life, and now she'll do anything to keep it. This makes her extremely paranoid. She's a smart woman, but as the story line progresses, her paranoia overtakes her, she believes people are plotting against her, whispering behind her back... This eventually leads to her selling you out, and ultimately destroying the brotherhood. I think the fact she performs the black sacrament (a ritual she fundamentally thinks is pointless) on herself shows how far she has descended.

Veezara Hmmm... Veezara actually has a pretty full backstory already! But I'll say he might have been a decent person if he wasn't born into the cult. Don't get me wrong, he's a bad person now, but I think he could have been good. (Unlike Festus!)

She-Daedra Babette Babette is resentful that she can't enjoy adult things like drinking or sex. Don't worry though - she takes out her rage by brutally slaughtering perverts as well as innocent travellers. I also hc she has a cyriocosmus elegans because LOOK AT THEM!!!

CICERO! Ofc, ofc, he has the most detailed backstory as he is the main character. HOWEVER. I have headcannons.

For one, I think he comes from wealthy family, mainly based on he uses fancy words in his journals. Contrary to Festus, I don't believe he was cast out for being too violent, as in his earlier journals he seems hesitant or even regretful about completing contracts. I think he was framed/falsely accused of a murder, and the DB reached out to him. Upset that his family and friends were abandoning him, Cicero was more than happy to accept this new family.

Secondly, this is entirely a hc but I like to think he was haunted by other victims like the handmaid and the grand champion as well as the Jester, I think it makes more sense.

For three, I think Rasha named him keeper not out of respect, but rather since he could see how the deaths of Alisane and Andronica were unravelling Cicero, and thought it would be a hazard for him to complete further contracts. So, he gives poor Cicero one final, easy, non-glamourous contract and hands him the Keeping Tomes. Cicero is overjoyed at this new role and begins to develop the superiority complex we see in Skyrim.

I also wonder what he ate in the Cheydinhal sanctuary, bcs I know he's not going outside after what happened to Pointus and Garnag. It was probably the rats tbh.

He has vitamin D deficiency.
