La saison 2018 terminée, plusieurs établissements font actuellement de la place pour les nouveaux. Les coursiers qui ne sont pas 'sound' ou qui ont eu des ennuis de santé ont été du reste euthanasiés, hier, mardi 4 décembre. Nous avons approché Kamal Bissumbhur qui est en charge du Centre Guy Desmrais à Floréal pour avoir une confirmation. Onze chevaux au total ont été 'humanely put down'. Ils sont Lee's Star (Rousset), Castle (Perdrau), Olympic Bolt (Perdrau), Nadas (Hurchund), Seeking The Dream (Hurchund), Purple Rock (Maingard), Duke The Duke (Maingard), St Arnault (Maingard) , Psycho Syd (Maingard), Charles Lytton (J.M.Henry), Hililyhililyhilo (Nagadoo). Du lot, Lee's Star est celui qui a réussi une très bonne carrière avec cinq victoires en 13 sorties. Cette année, il avait remporté le titre chez les 4 ans à la faveur d'une victoire et une deuxième place dans ce championnat. Quant à Charles Lytton, il avait brillamment enlevé la Princess Margaret Cup en 2016 alors qu'il défendait sous les couleurs de Gilbert Rousset. Il avait battu le valeureux Kremlin Captain ce jour-là avec Bernard Fayd'herbe sur le dos.

Nhiều hội đồng ở Perth sẽ đánh "thuế cây" đối với người dân

Một hội đồng ở Perth có thể bắt đầu đánh thuế những người dân đã chặt các cây to tại khu vực nhà ở cá nhân của mình.

Thị trưởng thành phố Claremont, ông Bruce Haynes, đã đưa ra một đề xuất gây tranh cãi trong nỗ lực giữ cho đường phố được xanh.

“Chúng ta đang mất đi rất nhiều cây cối trong khu vực đô thị. Đây là một vấn đề ngày càng lan rộng, ngay trong khu vực metro – không chỉ ở đây mà ở khắp mọi nơi.”, ông Haynes nói với 9NEWS.

Ông Haynes muốn người dân ở Claremont, Cottesloe và Peppermint Grove, phải đóng một khoản tiền phạt nếu họ chặt một cây trưởng thành trong khối nhà của mình, và thưởng cho những người giữ lại cây.

Ông Haynes nói: “Chúng tôi sẽ cho các bạn một mức hoàn lại tiền cho cây trưởng thành, miễn là chúng được duy trì trong khối nhà. Vì vậy lựa chọn là tùy ở các bạn, nhưng các bạn phải suy nghĩ về việc đó dù có chặt cây hay không.”

Hội đồng Claremont sẽ quyết định xem liệu họ có áp dụng “thuế cây” vào giữa năm nay hay không, nhưng chưa xác định xem mức thuế sẽ là bao nhiêu. Cho đến nay đề xuất này đã nhận được nhiều phản ứng trái chiều.

“Chúng tôi không muốn nơi này biến thành một khu rừng “, anh Olivier Maingard, cư dân Claremont nói.

“Nhưng đó là một điều khó khăn, bạn thực sự nên được phép sử dụng đất theo cách mà bạn muốn.”

Tại một số vùng ngoại ô – như Scarborough và Nollamara – việc phát triển đã khiến 1/6 số cây cối bị chặt bỏ trong 5 năm qua.

Theo một báo cáo của Hội đồng Stirling, tổng số cây bị chặt bỏ có thể lấp đầy 55 sân vận động WACA ở Perth. Họ ước tính sẽ phải tiêu tốn 78 triệu đô để trồng 7.000 cây mới mỗi năm trong khoảng thời gian từ năm 2015 tới năm 2030.

Thậm chí sau đó, nó vẫn sẽ không đủ để thay thế số cây cối mà khu vực đã mất.

Ở Hội đồng thành phố Fremantle, Samson đã nóng hơn 2 độ C so với các vùng ngoại ô xung quanh do thiếu cây cối. Hội đồng đang yêu cầu người dân lựa chọn cây họ muốn trồng, nhằm mục đích cải thiện độ phủ bóng.
