The two don't want anyone to touch or see Azula in such a vulnerable state.

She is literally the image of an omnipotent being! And they don't want anyone to forget that image now that she is in such a vulnerable moment.

a fairy-inspired maizulee story

Azula and Mai are childhood best friends that grew up together and survived horrors that threatened to destroy them and pull them apart, yet they stuck together. Now in their twenties, they live together in a secluded villa near the forest. Their lives have been perfect and orderly for a long time, until one variable near demolishes the order azula built for so long.

One night, azula is attacked but is then surprisingly saved by something she couldn’t believe if she hadn’t seen her with her own eyes, a fairy. The fairy scared the man off, but her wing was injured in the process, so azula took her home.

Mai, who was sickeningly bored of the monotone routine of their lives, is glad for ty Lee the fairy’s presence, but azula was a little bit more distrustful, the fairy was too mysterious and had too many secrets, no matter how upbeat and bubbly she acts. 

Unbeknownst to all three of them, their lives would never be the same after that night.

Sorry to bother you. But in your answer to my question you wrote that Azula will receive redemption. And will May and Tyle Lee forgive her as part of that redemption? It would just be interesting to see Azulie try to be nice to her friends, like Zuko did in the second half of season three. And it would be cool if at the end they started a threesome relationship.

I definitely always thought that Mai and Ty Lee would forgive her, especially if she genuinely apologized! Unfortunately even 15+ years later, Azula has yet to be redeemed in canon, so I really want to try and give it a shot. Maybe she’ll end up following a similar arc that Zuko does in canon book 3, and will end up joining the Gaang after the Day of Black Sun. Still not sure exactly where I’ll go with that - we’ll see once we get closer to that part of the story!

I have definitely also given thought to making Mai x Ty Lee x Azula canon, because they would be so cute! Especially since Azula will be redeemed in this AU. I had already planned on making Mai x Ty Lee canon anyway. Once again, we’ll see what happens as I keep writing :)

Ty Lee terrified creeping through a haunted house alone while Mai smirks at the camera outside evilly. Could’ve been iconic

I was thinking... about azula ✨️of course✨️ and it would be funny in a modern au, something like that, that azula finally realize thats she is into women becouse of therapy

AND hear me out first, not like "azula what do you think about your sexuality?" No, but rather azula gets finally to the point went she gets to talk about family, friends, people she knows, all her relationships, thats kinda stuff and when she gets to mai and ty lee, she TALKS SO FUCK8NG PASSIONATELY, so close, she spend a hole session talking about them, every little thing, from love to rage to sadness, to love again, EVERYTHING, and being unaware.

So much that and the end of it, the therapist have to take they glasses off (Yes a therapist with glasses, cliche but is for dramatic effect) put a hand on her shoulder, sympathetically, look azula straigth in the eyes and says "azula have your ever thought that you might be into girls?, those two... do sound like more that friends to you"

Azula is like "no" ends piss off and finishing the sesion but only have to take like, one look, to mai and ty lee to come back RUNNING to the therapist, smashing the door open being "OH MY... FATHER, WHAT THE HECK!" The therapist that was already counting the minutes for azula to come back would just be pating the seat infront of her.

That Day azula learn, always having the feeling but never actually realizing, now she have a name for her feelings for mai and ty lee and is gonna make sure her girls get the treatment they deserve ❤️

btw i'm fully ignoring canon info on characters' ages for the hama unfreezes aang au. hama says the raids began 60 years ago over a flashback of her as a young woman and the atla artbook's translation of jeong jeong's wanted poster says he's 61 (making her 15-20 years older) but i want it to be aang and the lesbians vs iroh and the gays and so that's what it's gonna be
