In the vast expanse of the Xianzhou Luofu, you find yourself staring at Yanqing, the esteemed lieutenant of the cloud knights itself. you always admired the way he practiced from afar.. but of course you would never admit it, to him at least-

When Yanqing finished his practice for the day, he seemed to notice you from his training ground, even though you were quite far away, he could always find you no matter what.

You realize that you have been caught red-handed, so you finally come out of your hiding place and approach him. He noticed that and gave you a smile. 

“Ah, (Y/n). I'm glad to see you again. watching me practicing again?” you let out a huff while you cross your arms and look away to another direction trying to avoid his gaze. “I-i just happened to pass by, You are too confident to think I will watch you practice!”

Yanqing chuckles as he's seemingly used with your sharp mouth “is that so? Well, if you want to spend time with me, i'm happy to—”

“like I'd want to spend time with you!” you interject quickly, your cheeks warming despite the cold air. “You also have a busy schedule.”

Yanqing looked at you, his expression is calm but he seemed to be holding back his laughter. “If it were you, I would clear my schedule right away.”

His blunt words caught you off guard, and you felt your face flush even more. "Y-You... You’re just saying that!”

“I'm not.” He replies, his eyes were meeting yours with sincerity. “You know how much I want to spend time with you, and I can tell you're too, even if you try to hide it behind all those tough faces.”

You shifted uncomfortably, trying to cover up your embarrassment with a scoff “Hmph, don't get the wrong idea. I'm just here to make sure you're not slacking off.”

Yanqing smiles, a knowing glint in his eyes. “Of course, (Y/n). I'll be sure to keep that in mind.”

As you turn back to leave, you can't help but glance back at him, catching him watching you with a fond expression. “And my earlier offer still stands if you want.” Your eyes widened as your heart raced, but you quickly shook off the feeling and walked away before he could see the small smile forming on your lips.

Hey, remember this comic by @slimeel ? Yeah, I accidentally became stupidly enamoured by the concept of mail delivery bugs and then this happened. This started off with me wanting to make a reference to the mail lady from Homestuck but quickly grew into an excuse for drawing a couple of environmental pieces.

The whole idea is this: A network of bugs exists in the wastes, an old one but still far younger than Hallownest, which is why none of their offices ever appeared near it. No one knows where they have come from, though rumour has it that their first office grew alongside a civilisation born off the corpse of a great beast. All of its members appear to be mortals, but they bear masks with foreign etchings on them, protecting them from having their minds swept away by the winds, keeping all of them connected, something that no mortal could devise. Despite this they worship no power, directing all their devotion to one thing: Mail.

reading your metas and realizing that the reason i find sam so annoying is that hes both obsessed with being a grown up who can make his own choices and isnt a child, and absolutely committed to never taking responsibility for his choices when push comes to shove.

And it's very much on purpose in the writing, is the thing. This exact dynamic is one of the only lines of dialogue between Michael and Lucifer in 5.22 that really reflects Sam and Dean's more current conflicts (Recall that the lore here is that Lucifer twisted the first human soul (Lilith) into demonhood to spite God):

MICHAEL/ADAM: Oh, you know why! I have no choice, after what you did. LUCIFER/SAM: What I did? What if it's not my fault? MICHAEL/ADAM: What is that supposed to mean? LUCIFER/SAM: Think about it. Dad made everything. Which means he made me who I am! God wanted the Devil.

"Because someone wanted me to be bad, I have no choice but to be bad." The things that happen to us give us context and create room for sympathy, but they don't make our choices everyone else's fault. (And yes—free will does exist to Chuck's great frustration, or he wouldn't have had a season long tantrum about Team Free Will not ever doing what he wanted).

What's more, in this same conversation where Lucifer excuses his own actions as outside of his control, he tells Michael to defy their father's desires—something he just finished saying wasn't possible. He just said that he had to be exactly who he was meant to be, but he doesn't apply this same logic to Michael's God-given role. He only twists the narrative of their lives when it's about him, to make himself sound uniquely powerless. He assigns Michael all the culpability and control over how this fight goes down when Lucifer actively worked to bring this moment where they battle to fruition as well (including by stocking a mass grave in 5.10). It's manipulative bullshit.

How does Michael respond to all of this a few moments later? Before anything, by expressing resetment for Lucifer's refusal to take responsibility for his own choices:

MICHAEL/ADAM: You know, you haven't changed a bit, little brother. Always blaming everybody but yourself.

We can also reflect on the last time Lucifer threw himself a pity party about how mean his family is—to justify digging a mass grave into which he had dumped hundreds of bodies for a ritual to raise Death. He said it wasn't his fault then either—that Michael made him do it by betraying him—by refusing to stand by his side supporting his every decision (which, while framed as somehow making him powerless, strongly suggest a desire to control others feelings and for everyone including his older brother to fall in line behind him and do his bidding without question). It's never his fault. It's always someone else's fault for being mean to him.

yes, all the time, especially after receiving this ask… i took so long to respond because i wanted to let it marinate in my inbox for a while, and just. think about it.

it was kanade who gave ena a second, and third, and an unlimited number of chances. kanade, who firmly (but gently) shielded ena’s work from criticisms. and kanade, who nurtured ena’s art until it was ready to bloom on its own accord.

over time, kanade has gone from guarding ena’s sketchbook in ena’s 1st focus, to leading the daffodil out of the canvas in her most recent. it displays how ena is finally free to express her true self through her paintings. even more so now that she has accepted art as her life’s calling. and she wouldn’t have been able to do that without the nudge from kanade pre-main story.

What do you mean you sing??? And you play guitar??? AND you make music online??? Is there anything you can't do?

You never told him at the start of your relationship, and so once he found out he basically became your group's number one fan.

Song premiere? He's there. Cover? He's already in the YouTube waiting room. Merch drop? He's actually refreshed the page countless times, simply to buy a hoodie with your group's logo on it. Song teaser? He's watched it over two hundred times, admiring the pretty visuals, with you in the back of his mind.

Akito though, like he is with most things, would rather explode than admit it.

Akito will bashfully ask if you can sing to him. He just likes your voice, is all. He can't get enough of it.

Will sometimes show up to the café you work at (SPECIFICALLY during your shifts). Akito always asks you for a stack of pancakes and some coffee, just the way he likes it.

Overall, he really loves you and how talented you are.

He's actually heard of your group and their songs even before you started dating. He wasn't a superfan per se, he just enjoyed the music. He discovered it while branching out towards other genres of music that weren't classical. It was interesting to him.

Toya was definitely surprised when you told him. Not complete, utter shock, but it was still slightly surprising to him.

Likes to listen to you playing the guitar. He'll even request songs at times, humming along with each string your fingers strike. Same goes for when you sing, he compliments your voice. He chuckles seeing your face turn red at his words.

Like Akito, Toya enjoys coming to your café during your shifts, but unlike Akito, he's more blunt about it. He just had the urge to see you, you know? He always orders the same coffee anyways, so when you catch a glimpse of his hair at the door, you're already preparing the plain black coffee he always drinks.

💜 Heartstopper - I haven't seen the show, but the comic is precious, and I've read through it twice. Has the sweet, fluffy, slowburn start of a relationship that then transitions into a long-term one with more serious topics, which I like to imagine happens with FrEddie.
