First of all, I want to say thank you for the compliment! I'm glad that everyone seems to be enjoying my crossover ideas for the most part.

But yes! Yes I do have more. And while I don't have a model, I do have a bit of a list.

Let's start off with the one's I've been writing about!

Now, of course Dpxdc is the most popular and well known out of these because that's what I write the most, but I think that they work all well.

Let's start with Dp as a whole. Not only does Danny have access to all this advanced technology, human and supernatural alike, he's also powerful himself. And that fact that something so powerful was happening in pretty much a ghost town-heh- with no outside interference other than the GIW could lead to a lot. And the fact that it's canon that the portals in the ghost world that takes them to different points in time and possibly universes, there is a lot that could be worked with here.

And Steven Universe is almost the same. All this gem technology and the powers of gems themselves is something frightening since we've seen so many gems and only know what a good quarter of them could do. Plus tell me that Beach City wouldn't be crowded with heroes or spies if it wasn't in the Marvel or DC verse.

Same with a lot of these fandoms when it comes to crossovers. Either they somehow manage to live peacefully in the same universe without making each other aware of the others presence until a certain even caused them to interact, or one of the universes has magic or technology strong enough to send a person or people hurling to a completely different universe.

But enough about that! Let's go on to my list! Some of these crossovers may or may not have been done in either forms of prompts or fanfiction, or they're just rp ideas I had in the past, so be aware that none of these are completely original (at least I think so) .

I'm separating it like this because this is a long list. Be warned.

Overlord x Slime: Because Isekai Quartet did us wrong for not having Rimuru in the series. I think this would fit mostly because having two monster leaders who were from Japan would get along nicely. Although Rimuru is more laidback than Ainz. Both leaders are strong and care deeply about those who work under them while striving to create a better home for them.

Danny Phantom x The Walking Dead: Honestly I don't think I've seen this around, at least nothing recent. But I like this one because I gotta know: would the walkers just walk right passed Danny? Would any or all liminals be free from being chased by walkers? If so, would Amity park even change much if they were?

Dp x Avatar: The Last Airbender: I like this one because I based it around the previous Avatars and the Avatar state. I picture it being this giant part of the Infinite Realms that

Lego Monkie Kid x Xiaolin Showdown: I honestly just think that this would fit somehow. With all of the spirits and beings that are in the XS universe, I think that this would fit! Maybe because of the monkey staff? Probably.

Kingsman x Dc/Marvel: With all the secret agencies and facilities having around the world, I would not doubt if something like the Kingsman or Statemen existing in either world.

Miss Kobayashi's Dragon Maid x Harry Potter: I want one of the dragons to be mistaken as a dragon in the magical world and becomes one of the dragons the champions have to face in the tr-wizard tournament.

Bofuri! x Overlord: I think Ainz would be surprised to see another gamer. And with someone like Maple and her never ending arsenal, she'd definitely surprise him.

Despite its vampires, assassins, and a viciously conspiratorial patriarchy, the main sensibility I took away from Alix E. Harrow’s spectacular debut, The Ten Thousand Doors of January, was one of celebration – a celebration of portal fantasies, of secret histories, of favorite books and tales, most of all of the protagonists’ capac­ity to find and claim their own stories. Much the same might be said of her new novel The Once and Future Witches. To be sure, the plot, the late 19th-century setting, and the characters are entirely different, but her sometimes playful fascination with history, her not entirely original conviction that outsider groups can gain power from unity, and her celebration of women’s magic will seem familiar. For all this, the novel seems entirely new, including Harrow’s manner of telling the tale, as inventive in its own way as was Ten Thousand Doors. Sometimes she uses folksong-like repetition or anaphora to introduce characters in an intentionally formulaic way; she interpolates cleverly gender-reimagined versions of classic fairy tales and nursery rhymes; she sets the whole thing in a kind of gender-flipped alternate history (the classic fairy tale collectors were the Sisters Grimm, Charlotte Perrault, and Andrea Lang; Homer was translated by Alex­andra Pope; a popular detective writer is Miss Doyle). An African-American character tells a story that converts Anansi to Aunt Nancy. Even historical events are subtly shifted, as when the notorious Triangle Shirtwaist fire becomes the “Square Shirtwaist fire,” Sometimes the narra­tion takes on such an anthem-like voiceover tone that you can almost hear the music swelling:

The rest of the Sisters of Avalon are just maids or mill-workers, dancers or fortune-tellers, mothers or daughters. Everyday sorts of women with everyday sorts of problems, not worth mentioning in any story worth telling.

But tonight, beneath the Rose Moon of June, they are witches. They are crones and maidens, villains and temptresses, and all the stories belong to them.

Tone is crucial in any stories about stories, and pretty soon we’re enjoying this sort of thing as much as Harrow seems to enjoy writing it.

In Harrow’s version of history, the Salem witch trials involved real witches, eventually leading to the destruction of the town – hence the setting of New Salem (which probably has little to do with real villages with that name). The central characters are the three Eastwood sisters who have, separately, escaped an abusive father and who meet up again years later in New Salem, just as the women’s suffrage movement is taking hold in 1893. Harrow initially introduces them with a classic fairy-tale formula, focus­ing on their appearance: James Juniper is “the youngest, with hair as ragged and black as crow feathers”; Agnes is “the middle sister, with hair as shining and black as a hawk’s eye”; Beatrice is “the oldest sister, with hair like owl feathers: soft and dark, and streaked with early gray.” But, like a good teller of oral tradition, Harrow introduces them again from time to time, varying the formula to reflect the women’s growing self-determination and agency. Later in the novel, in a flurry of alliteration, we’re told that James is “the wild sister, fearless as a fox and curious as a crow”; Agnes is “the strong sister, steady as a stone and twice as hard”; Beatrice is “the wise sister, quiet and clever as an owl in the rafters.” How the sisters transform from archetypes into characters makes up a good part of what the first half of the novel is about.

As the story opens, middle sister Agnes is working in a textile-mill sweatshop, the older sister Beatrice is a college librarian, and James Juniper has just arrived in New Salem, penni­less and homeless and wanted for the murder of her nightmare of a father. She is furious with her older sisters for having abandoned her to his abuse years earlier, and she has no intention of rejoining them until they accidentally meet when the “splitting open of the world” briefly reveals a massive black tower in the town square. The tower eventually becomes the focus of an increasingly apocalyptic confrontation. On one side are the sisters, who form a loose organiza­tion of witchy immigrants and factory workers called the Sisters of Avalon (including a delight­ful Russian woman who offers a revisionist Baba Yaga tale), and who find allies in the Daughters of Tituba, led by the African-American journal­ist Cleopatra Polaris Quinn, editor of the New Salem Defender. But the local suffragist group, the New Salem Women’s Association, is leery of having their political goals derailed by associa­tion with witches. They aren’t the real problem, though; that would be an ambitious, hate-mongering local politician named Gideon Hill, who has some ancient supernatural resources of his own, as well as a secret identity we learn of late in the novel. (Witchery, it seems, was never confined to women – they just got blamed for it.) As the stakes grow more dire, the novel takes on a more densely textured, almost epic dimension, raising the question of what sacrifices the sisters may need to make in order for their story – and the world – to survive. Even though the more mundane question of women’s suffrage may be a bit overshadowed by time we reach the spectacular conclusion, The Once and Future Witches, with its adroit balance of narrative playfulness and imminent tragedy, is as fully original and impressive as its predecessor, and is just a hoot to read.

Now there’s some heavy debate on what Classpect may fit Joey Claire, and while I have gone on record saying that the Maid of Light could fit her quite well, I do believe her true Classpect is the Heir of Life.

See, Joey has a bunch of references to Maidenhood, and a lot of references to Light. Not only that, but she’s being contacted and helped by Doc Scratch, who’s shown he favors Light Players. Her symbol is a star! There’s a lot binding her to Light, from the puzzle solving to her weapon of choice. Rather than her being a Light Player, however, I am starting to really think this is the way A. Claire has influenced Joey, and that A. Claire is a Light Player herself.

Joey idolizes her mother, and her influence is so great and positive in her, that she has been perusing the recordings of her mother’s dances only in special occasions, so that she has something left to check out. Her mother gave her the sign of the star, her mother gave her the inspiration to dance and practise Ballet and Tap-Dance, and this Light Influence is incredibly noticeable in everything she does. However, there is more to it than it meets the eye.

One of Joey’s draws towards Light could be seen as her craving attention, relevance. Being abandoned by her Pa, she has grown resentful of him, and wants that validation, that attention, and it makes her pursue being more like A. Claire. Joey has to draw attention to herself during the game, she has to restore the light, she has to power up a flashlight, but ultimately? These are obstacles she’s pushed to overcome. It can be an interesting way to see her interact with her Mother- That at her lowest and when things are going the worst, the solution she sees to push herself out of trouble, is to evoke her mother’s Classpect.

But a big, big part of Joey’s character is tied to Life. The Heirloom she holds has a symbol of Life on it, her desire to be a veterinarian, to heal others. When challenged, she may look up to someone she loves dearly and try to be like her, but at the core of Joey’s character, her love for animals and healing, her desire to help, hell even her relationship with Pa! After all, this would tie Joey with yet another Life Player whose feelings were disregarded due to his own way of being, and led to someone he loved dearly being hurt.

This leads me to the second half of her Classpect- The Heir. First of all we have the obvious tie of Joey and her Heirloom, but on top of that you could say that Joey is inheriting her mother’s Life. She’s playing the role of a Light Player like her Mother was, with the Dance and the references to Light, and her mother obviously had something to do with the Portal, so perhaps even the situation in which she’s going to Alternia mirrors what may have happened to her mother in the past. On top of that, Change is a big thing with Joey- From literally having her Life Changed by being sent to Alternia, Changing Xefros’ Life, trying to bring a positive Change to Alternia by empowering and giving agency to Xefros and the rebel group, Changing the Health of animals for their benefit- She even feeds Byers to make him calm down, tying her back to Life again with consumption!

On top of that, Byers, the Deercat, in a way even her Heirloom, these may be seen as her Familiars- Heirs being part of the Magician Classes, they have been tied strongly to things such as Familiars. Besides, with John as the protagonist of Homestuck, it’d be interesting to have another Heir be a protagonist.

Either way, Joey shows an affinity for Light, but seems to mirror her Mother’s affinity for it rather than her own. I feel the Heir of Life not only fits her personality and role in the story quite well, but it also explains why she seems so tied to both Light and Life- Not only because she’s emulating her Mother, but because as one whose life is Changed, and who may Inherit Life, she’s literally taking all the positive she sees from her Mother and applying it to herself, leading to this intricate scenario.

And while some could consider her to be more Active than Passive... Honestly, being directed by Jude, then getting stuck when it comes to freeing herself, but finding the way out when she’s out to help Xefros, the healing of Lusii and her outburst to try and get Xefros out of what seems like a toxic relationship- I don’t think many would argue that her Selflessness definitely comes through as well.

Squaresoft’s Chrono Trigger and Diana Gabaldon’s Outlander debate loudly and distractingly over the space-time continuum

Drink of Choice: Rhenish 

Fantasy and science fiction have long straddled each other's borders. The explanatory and theoretical aspect of science fiction has typically separated it from the magic of fantasy. Contemporary works (such as Frank Herbert's Dune) often mingle these qualities to create adventurous hybrids, providing rationale for fantastic events that lower the suspension of disbelief. An example of fantasy, perhaps even magical realism, is the popular Outlander (1991-present) series by Diana Gabaldon. An example of a narrative that works between the lines would be the occult classic video game Chrono Trigger (1995). Both, I should mention, hinge their plots on time travel.

Time travel in these narratives work to showcase the past as a truth never fully known and enemies as never fully understood beings. These mysteries and conflicts are replicated, repeated, and recycled to illuminate the cyclical nature of time. Though both genres are under fiction, the amount of realism and explanation does little to distract protagonists from their quests for justice reliant on the power of time travel. The last frontier is not outer space, but literal space and the (supposedly) linear stream of time.

Space (sans Outer) as a frontier - Worlds in different iterations

It follows, then, why Chrono Trigger literally bestows the party a spaceship-looking time travel vehicle mid-game. It gives the impression that players are not merely flowing from time to time in this fictional universe, but from world to world - vastly different iterations of the same thing. 

The main protagonist in Outlander, Claire, time travels through purely magical and ancient means. However, she knows many locations in the present that are brand new or yet-to-be in the past. These observations are often described in her monologues. The strangeness of knowing something similar yet distinctly different, such as a person or a place, is the premise for most of her existential thoughts throughout the novels. 

Chrono Trigger combines magic and technology to introduce portals and time travel. Crono, the main protagonist, does not feature monologues on locations he knows or people that seem familiar - he doesn’t have to. In the game, the player embodies the avatar (main character Crono). Like many RPGs of its time, the main character is often silent and pliable to the player’s interpretation. The player feels the full effect of a town they’d visited destroyed in the future, and even more distraught over witnessing the planet turn to ruins. 

There are seven distinct realms in Chrono Trigger, and the player becomes accustomed to tracing landmasses and border lines for any alterations as results of their actions. These silent changes between realms makes the player feel both powerful (for being able to travel through time at will) and powerless (for seeing pain and suffering of the world and being unable to stop it).

Power over Power

The mixture of technology and magic may be what gives the cast of Chrono Trigger more agency than Claire in Outlander. Because the magic is something in which she does not understand, Claire is at the mercy of outside powers and spinning variables. In desperation, she tries first to return to the circle of stones that teleported her from modern-day 1945 to Scotland 1743.

Destiny is a perpetually appearing theme in the series that is likewise highlighted in Chrono Trigger. Certain events are inevitable, and others alterable. In either case, Crono has greater autonomy and mastery over the power of time travel and rises to fulfill a heroic purpose. Claire, however, wishes to return home to the present day. Much later, when she falls in love with another man in 1743, she only wishes to protect the people she has come to love from a historic slaughter of the Scottish clans. While appearing heroic, this desire is personal and based on a bias. It is because she wishes to stay with those in 1743 and because she loves her new husband that she desires to change the course of history. Crono, however, arises to a higher purpose for the sake of all of humanity.

The Hunt for the Precarious

In the Present Era, a maid in Chrono Trigger says, “a peaceful world is a boring world.” This dissatisfaction is a noteworthy element of the game and illuminates the process of writing adventure-centric narratives. 

In Outlander, Claire ultimately makes her choice between her first husband in 1945 and her new one by weighing the breadth of her emotions attached to each. Her first husband evokes feelings such as comfort, peace, and safety. A post-WW2 era underscores these qualities for Claire, who was stationed as a battle nurse for years. When compared to her new life in 1740s Scotland, it seems like modern day is the most logical choice. 

However, Claire comes to enjoy the passion that comes with danger in Scotland. She begins to prefer the battle scars of her new husband over the soft hands of her old one. It’s a more precarious life, but also a great deal more exciting. We can agree that the book would not have been as popular if Claire had chosen the modern world and never looked back. The same could be said for Chrono Trigger and all action-adventure games. This genre comprises most of the video games on the market, and most players expect something exciting and important to play through. Most of the time, players aren’t looking to engage with a peaceful world.

Playing with Time

The hunt for chaos drives most adventure narrative plots. In this case, the integration of this hunt with time travel points to the main character Claire and the gamer in Chrono Trigger “playing” with time. 

Chrono Trigger has thirteen different endings available. Depending on what choices gamers make, they can reap an ending with a dead main character, or a wedding, or the destruction of the world, etc. Without a guide, it is massively difficult to know the outcome of your decisions before you make them. The reality is most gamers nowadays will use a guide to achieve the “ideal” ending. While readers have no control over the decisions Claire makes, we can imagine her as a player in her own game.

She relies on her knowledge of the future to find the best possible amalgamation of choices that could save Scotland from war while keeping herself and her new husband from death. Instead of playing through options like you would in a game, she uses research, books, and history to make informed decisions on her next move in the past.

Essentially, it's a strategic game. Though she does not have mastery or control over time travel, she has enough understanding of the unfolding events to properly prepare herself and others. Granted, some of these attempts are ineffective. But the lack of complete foresight for Claire mirrors the lack of complete foresight for the guide-less gamer in Chrono Trigger.

Both Claire and Crono engage in different iterations of their worlds through choices they could potentially make. Through her knowledge, Claire manipulates history to achieve her desired outcome. If we define history as a narrative, she directly engages with the story of her realm as an outside force. Characters in Outlander refer to her as a witch due to her abilities and foresight. It is as if she is operating on a gamer’s guide for history - or perhaps perused it enough before diving into the past. In the same way, players of Chrono Trigger act as the narrative “witches” and manipulate the world from a simultaneous internal view (as an avatar) and external view (as a player of a fictional universe).

In this way, we find that time travel in fantasy and science fiction can work as both internal and external indications of presence - being of that world but a different iteration of it - of that world yet beyond it. Likewise, it can grant characters power, render them powerless, and/or underscore the futility of events destined to transpire.
