For those who haven't seen it, I highly recommend the 2021 limited series 'Maid' on Netflix. It's superb, emotionally driven, and both devastating and hopeful. Honestly, Margaret Qualley is so talented, and the fact that this is based on someone's real life (Stephanie Land) makes this even more impactful.

actually the nate vs sean thing is just props to the show for being so deep into alex's POV that you feel this way. nate's dickishness coincides perfectly with sean's responsibility. he can handle her family. he gets her. he can be kind. and at that point it just feels like such a relief. sean is stable and familiar. (obviously, i know what's coming so i dont fall for it anymore. but like. the feeling is still there for me) and also. nate is v annoying but he's not more than that. whereas the sean stuff is a lot deeper and more complicated, much like alex's history with him.
