No Compromises, an FIR registered against Bollywood actor for not following Coronavirus guidelines

The Mumbai municipal body made the national news headlines India when it declared that it had filed a police case against a leading Bollywood actor. As per the municipal body, the actor did not complied with the Covid 19 protocol after getting positive test results.

The Municipal body posted copy of the first information report (FIR) on Twitter saying "No Compromise on City's Safety". There was no mention of the name of the actor. The move from the civic authority came following the sudden spike in the cases of Covid-19 in the state. Maharashtra, which is already the worst affected state in the country, is now facing a serious wave of the infections.

In the release, the municipal corporation said that despite testing positive, the actor moved in public places and also took part in several shooting sessions. The actor is now been quarantined.

The tweet from the civic body read, No Compromise On City’s Safety! BMC has filed an FIR against a Bollywood actor for non-compliance to COVID19 guidelines on testing positive. The rules apply to all alike and we urge citizens to follow all guidelines and help the city beat the virus. #NaToCorona.

The step taken by the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation comes after a strict warning released by none other than the CM of Maharashtra Uddhav Thackeray. The CM said that it is important to take the due actions and follow the Covid-19 guidelines if the city wants to save itself from a fresh lockdown.

"Do not force us to impose a strict lockdown. Consider this as the last warning. Follow all the rules. Everyone has to realize there is a difference between self-discipline and restrictions," Mr. Thackeray said on Saturday.
