India: Maharashtra CM Eknath Shinde announces ‘New Healthcare Vision 2035’
CM Eknath Shinde, the chief minister of the state, has ordered the administration to double public health spending and improve the health system, particularly in rural regions, on a war footing, in order to ensure that such incidents don't occur again. The recent deaths of 31 persons in a government hospital in the western Indian state of Maharashtra during a 48-hour period highlighted various concerns about the state's healthcare system. Additionally, the Chief Minister has given the go-ahead for super-specialty hospitals to be built in each of the state's 34 districts.
Tumblr media
CM Eknath Shinde The statement was made at a high-level gathering that was also attended by Devendra Fadnavis and Ajit Pawar, the state's deputy chief ministers. Healthcare financing and hiring were also on the agenda during the discussion. The Chief Minister has ordered that equipment and medications be purchased right away. The ability to use scheduled funds for purchases has been granted to all district collectors. They must always have access to the life-saving medications, and any shortage will not be tolerated. At least 25 out of the 34 districts are in urgent need of new hospitals. In light of this, the Chief Minister has ordered the establishment of brand-new, completely functional district hospitals and the deadline for submitting the project's blueprint is 15 days. The CM has ordered the creation of nine additional health circles in addition to the current eight, taking into account the need for healthcare, particularly in government and public hospitals. The government frequently receives complaints that its hospitals are unclean and lack sufficient sanitation; in response, the CM has ordered authorities to make routine inspections to guarantee high levels of cleanliness. The CM has instructed the relevant officials to prepare the draft of the "New Healthcare Vision 2035" within the next 15 days. Son rises for the Sena: Aaditya Thackeray wins from Worli Assembly seat
Tumblr media
Election 2019 Few parties manage to stay relevant through a generational change. Shiv Sena is the exception. When it was formed, its founder Bal Thackeray saw it as forum to arouse the Maharashtrian-ness of those who lived in the state, making the Mangalorean, the North Indian, the Tamil, Telugu, and the Malayali the ‘other’.
The Communists and the Congress were also targets of Marmik, a cartoon magazine Thackeray founded that poked fun at the outsiders and the meek Maharashtrians. It also gave an ideological cover for breaking the Communist-dominated trade unions in and around Mumbai's textile mills.

But he soon found that the ‘Maharashtra for Maharashtrians’ slogan had limited appeal outside Mumbai where non-Maharashtrians were seen as performing an economic service and not necessarily as a threat.
A change of track followed with Sena supporters becoming the vanguard of the Hindu movement, speeding ahead of the BJP. Later, owing to the efforts of BJP leader Pramod Mahajan...Read more.

Assembly results: MVA govt fears tremors of promised BJP ‘earthquake’
For 45 days now, Maharashtra BJP president Chandrakant Patil has been warning of an impending “political earthquake” in Maharashtra post-March 10. Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) leaders could earlier laugh this off as political bluster, but the changed political scenario after the BJP’s victories in Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Manipur and Goa means the ruling alliance can no longer ignore the…

Election results: Fadnavis' homeland rejects BJP, richer areas shock Sena
The Congress, which had won 10 seats in the region in 2014, won 17 this time
Tumblr media
Election news: The Maharashtra Assembly elections threw up a mild surprise, by giving the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Shiv Sena — known as the Mahayuti —fewer seats than what any of the exit polls had predicted. Not just that, the seat count of the Mahayuti, at the time of going to press, was less than what the two parties had secured in 2014, when they had contested separately.
Despite retaining a strong edge over the majority mark, the Mahayuti lost 24 seats from its kitty, seeing its tally reduced to 161 from 185. The Congress-Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) alliance increased its tally from 81 to 98. Independents and smaller parties bagged 29 seats (from 20 earlier).
The unexpected result may be attributed to two regions of the state — the relatively prosperous western region, and drought-prone Vidarbha — both of which turned their back to...read more

Assembly poll results encouraging: Congress
Tumblr media
The Congress on Wednesday described the results of the Haryana and Maharashtra Assembly elections as “encouraging” saying that the government “crushing” the voice of the opposition is now being questioned by the people.
Speaking to reporters at the party headquarters, Congress General Secretary K.C. Venugopal said, “This is encouraging result for the Congress and the nation.”
“If the government is trying to crush the opposition’s voice, it is being questioned by the people and the same has been seen in Maharashtra and Haryana.”
