Well, tbf, Toei's been there, done that with crossdressing police officers. It's actually what Tetsu/DekaBreak became (in)famous for, so Shinnosuke wouldn't have been doing anything new.

I'd like to think that Tetsu's crossdressing reputation precedes him so much that even now, with him being a highly ranked SPD officer, that Shinnosuke would've heard about it before he was a Rider. Which means that the Riders probably do know about it too... and clown on him for it forevermore.

Here's the iconic scene of him doing it alongside Hikaru/MagiShine (whose actor, may I remind you, became Yu Inaba's teacher in high school)

As for ShouPhil... well, I don't think they'd actually talk much about the first time they did it, since Philip was pretending to be Wakana, aka his sister... and the Riders all know what went down with that.

The other times though... let's just say there's a reason they all admire Shoutaro's self-restraint.

Toy Review: Grip Phone (Mahou Sentai Magiranger)

This is going to be another quick one, because this toy is somehow both really involved and very straightforward. All the interactions are done with the buttons on the face or by pulling the trigger, which is attached to a functional hole punch. The toy originally came with cards as used in the show, but you won't find those unless you're getting this mint in box.

There are a fair number of sounds, mostly revolving around putting the correct code into the number pad, though you can mash buttons and still get several distinct sounds.

Honestly, that's kind of it! It's slightly scaled down from the show prop, obviously, but looks right, aside from the light at the tip not really lighting up (this may be a problem with my used one, but I haven't found anything that shows it lighting up).

Kid factor is mixed, my son could get some sounds randomly mashing, like I said, but he was more amused putting holes in paper than playing with the actual toy.

If I didn't have a collection that I'm trying to fill out as much as possible, I don't know if I'd have picked this one up. Magiranger is a wonderful show, but Hikaru/Magishine is easily the weakest part and this toy just doesn't do all that much on its own merit.
