final thoughts on magia record s3:

ok. so. wow. the third season was definitely so much better than the first and second. i felt like those both (especially the first) dragged out for too long. in this season, since it was so short, it was mostly about iroha which i'm ok with because she is the main character. she developed a lot more too, and i think by the end of the anime she can be considered a pretty solidly written character. i enjoyed s3! obv not as good as the original, and i think there were too many side characters, but the ending was pretty good. it emphasizes the tragedy of the magical girls (mifuyu/momoko/kuroe/ui/touka/neru dying, homura being forced to restart once again, the isolation of them all), but still keeps the message that as long as there's people by your side, you can continue to live, you are not alone, etc. i do wish alina's character was developed more and i would've liked to see more of her motivations bc honestly being so angry that she wanted to make everyone magical girls is? pretty reasonable for what she went through. i would've liked to know more about her. there were some loose ends that could've been wrapped up, but i'm content with the finale and all and all i think it was a solid final season.
