Y'know what, screw the "voice designs get unlocked when you unlock the voices," I love all these ladies and I'm gonna talk about them.

So!

Apprentice is basically dressed like a cute wizard girl you'd see in an anime or video game---big hat, comfy cloak, frilly skirt, thigh-high boots, and an equally frilly button-up. It's her first day at wizard school, she's starry-eyed and ready to learn, but she's still incredibly naive. She's also got a wand, because how else are you going to learn how to cast spells?

By contrast, Curious is more of a "cozy librarian" type girl---big comfy sweater, big comfy skirt, glasses on a chain. She doesn't have multiple heads or arms or anything like the Stranger does, even though she's a Stranger equivalent, but her features are... floating is the best term I can use to describe it. She's confused, she wants to know more, she's gained through moments where questioning things leads to mixed results---our girl's a bit scattered, and that's okay.

Charming is styled more like your typical Halloween witch---big black hat, black dress, belt stocked with potions, and a badass magic staff. She's still got catlike features, because she wouldn't be herself without them, and... yeah, no, Charming's design is pretty standard, all things considered. She's a devious little magical catgirl.

Warrior is a full-on lady knight. She's fully dressed like your typical paladin---gorgeously designed armor, a billowing cape, and an enormous fuck-you sword. And while she definitely has a bit of an ego, this woman is very much your classic knight devoted to a cause. All of the Voices secretly have a thing for her. Especially Researcher.

Restless is styled in a Victorian fashion---fancy updo, corset, heavy skirts, puffy sleeves---and she looks every bit as ghostly as her canon counterpart. She's someone who can't handle stagnation, and just wants the freedom to be impulsive and crazy... hence, why she looks like the tortured heroine of a gothic novel.

Doll also has a Victorian aesthetic, but it's more akin to, well, a spooky doll---frilly black dress, pigtails, the whole nine yards. I also imagine her, weirdly enough, holding a doll, just so she can have something to squeeze when things get really freaky. She's got Jane Doe vibes.

Humbled is bound in chains like Prisoner is in canon, but she's dressed in rags instead of a princess dress. Her whole thing is that she's been beaten down and made to believe that she's lesser, and her design kind of reflects what it feels like to be at rock bottom and being kicked when you're down---even though she is much smarter than she believes herself to be. (And yes, I am drawing from insecurities based on having been a neurodivergent kid with strict and exacting teachers, what of it?)

Hateful is still a large devil girl, but she's visibly unwell (bags under her eyes, sunken features, regularly coughs up blood), she's dressed in a hospital gown, and there's still IVs in her arms that aren't attached to anything but are nigh-on impossible to remove. I've considered renaming her Voice of the Patient, except she's... well, the opposite of patient. She's essentially meant to be someone who is sick and is getting worse by the minute, but keeps on fighting anyway because she doesn't know how to do anything else.

Prepared still has a lot of animalistic features in her design, though she looks less like a prowling beast and more like someone who's well on their way to becoming one---basically, werewolf vibes. She's kind of meant to be a contrast to the Inventor's more industrial style, representing a natural force that's apprehensive towards all the metal and gears and is hell-bent on proving that he doesn't have an advantage. She has the instincts of an animal, and she can guide us through... hopefully.

And last but not least, Rebel is the most modern out of everyone else---baggy pants, combat boots, chain wallets, leather jacket, the whole shebang. If the Substitute is the teacher who has no idea what he's doing, then Rebel is the student who's slacking off, cutting class, and has no other motivation other than to be a thorn in authority's side. In my opinion, the Razor is the only one who really breaks away from all the fantasy vibes of all the other vessels, and I think that should carry over into her voice equivalent.

Kessy's Recommendations

A little while ago a friend who's into Little Witch Academia asked for recommendations and I immediately suggested Magic User's Club. It's one of my go to's and a great show, but it's pretty obscure these days. That got me to thinking about all the other great OVA's I've seen that everyone's forgotten. So here's a selection of my favorites from the golden age of OVA's (1980's -2000's). If you're looking for a thread that connects these, my personal tastes run to character driven stories. I've tried to emphasize titles that are easy to access, mostly ones that are free on Youtube.

Assemble Insert: 1989, 2 eps.

comedy, superhero, idol, mad scientist, police

The city is being overrun by a mad scientist and his mecha equipped gang, so what's the overworked underpaid police force to do? Obviously, hold a competition for the next big idol! Err, I mean superhero to save the city. Wait, is there a difference? Maron really wants to know, since she's the (un?)fortunate winner of the competition.

All Purpose Cultural Catgirl Nuku Nuku (Bannou Bunka Neko-Musume): 1992, 6 eps.

comedy, catgirl (sort of), android, superpower, evil corporation

Ryuunosuke just wanted a pet, so when the minions of his overbearing mother accidentally kill the stray kitten he'd picked up his father does the only sensible thing: transplant the cat's brain into the experimental android body he's got in the back seat of the car. Ryuunosuke's new "big sister" is cheerful, energetic, able to bend steel beams with her bare hands, and overly fond of fish and sunbeams.

Nuku Nuku got a TV reboot and a second unrelated OVA called Nuku Nuku Dash, but the original OVA is definitely the best version.

Dragon Half: 1993, 2 eps.

Mink is the child of a dragon mother and a human father. (Don't think about it too much.) Her father was formerly the champion of the evil king, who still bears a grudge. So there are evil minions, a guy named Dick Saucer who can't decide if he's a singer or a swordsman, a princess who's half slime, the finger water squirter of DOOM, and Beethoven! Don't wait for it to make sense, just enjoy the ride.

Plastic Little: 1994, 1 ep.

Tita and her galant crew make a living in the pet shop trade, capturing exotic animals in their planet's ocean of clouds for export. One day Tita runs into a beautiful young woman being pursued by a group of uniformed goons. Impulsively deciding to help the stranger, Tita and her crew are drawn into a military conspiracy to wreak havoc on the colony. Naturally, there's a caped villain, high speed chases, battleships, and ridiculously unsafe walkways over a vast chasm.

Elf Princess Rane (Yousei Hime Ren): 1995, 2 eps.

comedy, WTF am I watching?, magic, yuri subtext, idiot protagonist

Well, there is a plot to this one, but describing it would take too long, make no sense, and miss the point. Rane is a frenetically paced, gag after gag wild romp into hilarity and the absurd. There are fairies from another dimension who only speak an unintelligible language, a scheming corporation, a large group of identical sisters, and a protagonist so obsessed with treasure hunting he sees it everywhere to the point of being oblivious to what's in front of his nose.

Magic User's Club (Mahoutsukai Tai!): 1996, 6 eps.

The Earth has been invaded by aliens! However, the aliens are content to sit in their giant spaceship while observing humanity with robotic probes. So when Sawanoguchi Sae joins her school's club of neophyte magic users and the club president declares that they're going to defeat the aliens with magic, she's nothing but enthusiastic. And a massive klutz. What hope do they have considering that the rest of the club consists of Sae's best friend who only joined for Sae's sake, a vice president whose main interest is his crush on the president, and a freshman who frequently skips club activities to go on dates?

There is also a very good 13 episode TV series which is a direct continuation of the OVA featuring the same cast and hijinks but with a change in tone, not the least because the aliens are gone.

Birdy the Mighty (Tetsuwan Birdy): 1996, 4 eps.

action, school life, undercover aliens, conspiracy, gender bender, body sharing

Tsutomu is your average school kid out for a stroll one evening when he runs into a man running for his life from… something. The man turns out to be an alien in disguise and the something, well let's just say it radically changes Tsutomu's life as he's drawn into a conspiracy involving interplanetary criminals. A Federation Officer named Birdy Cephon shows up, but due to reasons he winds up having to share his body with her.

The series got a TV reboot called Birdy the Mighty: Decode. In my opinion, the original OVA is better.

R.O.D: Read or Die: 2001, 3 eps.

Yomiko Readman is your average substitute teacher… Okay, no she isn't. She's absolutely obsessed with reading: her home is filled with stacks of books. She also has the ability to manipulate paper in any way she wishes, turning ordinary stationary into shields, weapons, giant flying paper airplanes, and so on. And she has a side job as a secret agent. So when a group of superpowered villains threatens the world, agent "The Paper" swings into action. Immediately after one of the bad guys steals her book!

ROD also has a TV series that has the same setting but completely new characters and plotline. The connections to the original OVA only gradually become apparent.

Murder Princess: 2007, 6 eps.

Alita and Faris are from such different backgrounds that you'd never expect them to meet. Alita is the princess of the kingdom of Forland and has lived a sheltered life in the capital. Faris is from a tragic background and survives on her wits and her skill with a sword as a bounty hunter. However, one night there is a palace coup and Alita is forced to flee for her life into the dark and dangerous Ellend forest, where Faris is hunting monsters for the price on their heads. The two literally run into each other and straight off a cliff. During the fall, the shared near death experience causes them to switch bodies. They're forced to reluctantly team up to defeat the coup and uncover the forces behind it.

Electromagnetic Girlfriend (Denpa-teki na Kanojo): 2009, 2 eps.

drama, mystery, romance

(Note: "Denpa" literally means "electromagnetic wave," but is colloquially used to mean "crazy" in much the same sense as "tin foil hat.")

Juuzawa Juu is a high school delinquent. One day a girl he's never met comes up to him and declares that he is a reincarnated king and she is his servant and knight. Despite Juu's best efforts to get rid of her, she continually follows him around. As if this wasn't enough, there's a serial killer stalking the town, and Juu suddenly finds himself caught up in the case when he's the one to find the body of the latest victim: one of his own classmates.

Humanity's Hope AU: The Magical Girls

So I haven't really expanded upon this AU in a while, so I figured I should.

This is, of course, a sequel to the last post, I highly recommend people to read it as it is a basic introduction to the AU.

This post meanwhile will introduce you to all seven magical girls that were chosen by Tikal to defeat Dr Ivo Robotnik. All of whom happen to be various human girls (Well, mostly human) from the Sonic franchise.

Without further ado, here they all are:

#1: Maria Robotnik

Our main protagonist in this AU. 50 years ago, she used to be a termally-ill girl living on the Space Colony ARK before Tikal chose her to become a magical girl, now she's cured, in a different time period, and is determined to protect humanity from her evil cousin.

The Knuckles Clan knows her better as "The Angel From The Stars" due to her depiction on an aincent murial on Angel Island. Funny enough, Maria's grandfather, Gerald Robotnik, never noticed the similarites on said murial when he visited the island for research purposes.

Her companion is, of course, Shadow The Hedgehog, his creation was assisted by Tikal in this universe, though his design is mostly the same as his canon counterpart. (This means that the Black Arms don't exist in this AU)

#2: Hope Kintobor

Maria's first cousin once removed who comes from a future where Eggman took over the world, after realizing the truth behind what had really happened to Earth, she became scared. Luckly, Tikal came and gave her a chance to set things right. Thus, she was sent back in time to stop Ivo.

She encountered Maria shortly after she was sent back in time, and is heavily featured in this AU's version of Sonic 2, where she teamed up with Maria when their new friend, Miles "Tails" Prower, was capured by Eggman.

Her companion is Amy Rose, who first encountered Maria in this AU's version of Sonic CD. Since Hope needed a companion, she decided to become one.

#3: Sara

The daughter of the President of the Land of the Sky, while this feisty catgirl may not seem like the ideal choice for a magical girl. Tikal knows that deep down, she's secretly a kind person. And she truly shows it to her fellow magical girls. Other than that, she's also quite powerful in her magical girl form.

Her companion is Knuckles The Edichna, Knuckles doesn't need to guard the Master Emerald since Eggman already stole it in this AU. Much like his OVA counterpart, he's a friendly individual, especially to Maria since he knows about the Angel Island murial.

#4 and #5: Helen and Frances

A parapalegic girl and an adventurous girl who are classmates at Station Square Elementary School. And apart of a friend group consisting of them, Chris Thorndyke, and Danny.

Maria, who enrolled into Station Square Elementary in order to avoid suspicion and to gain knowlege about Earth in the present day, ended up being befriended by the two girls.

At first, Maria had no idea that they were magical girls just like her. But when Eggman attacked the school, Helen and Frances revealed their magical girl selves. In fact, the reason why they befrended her was because they knew Maria was a magical girl. (Tikal told them that)

One notible thing about Helen's magical girl form is that she is able to stand and walk perfectly fine, though it reverts once she turns back to normal.

Their companions are the blue hedgehog and twin-tailed fox duo themselves, Sonic and Tails. It's worth mentioning that both of them idolize Maria and wish to be just as cool as she is.

#6: Princess Elise The Third

The current ruler of Soleanna. Tikal gave her a Blast Processor wand when she was 7. However, while testing out her powers with her father, The Duke of Soleanna, an accident had occured, killing her father and causing her immense greif. Because of this, she would become afraid of her own powers, and never use them again.

However, all of this would change when she was 17, Maria would visit Soleanna and encounter the princess. Maria knew that something was troubling her and wanted to help her. After Elise talked to Maria about her fear, Maria wanted to assure the princess that she doesn't need to be afraid and that she can use her powers for good.

It just so happens that Eggman was planning to attack Soleanna because Elise had a chaos emerald in her possession. Now it was time to prove Maria was right.

Elise's companion is Silver, who took the princess under his wing after the accident ten years ago. He also knows about Eggman's quest for world domination, since he came from the same future that Hope was from, they never met during that time though.

#7: Sage Robotnik

A humanoid AI girl, originally created by Dr Eggman in an attempt to create a "Maria" of his own, she suddenly ended up going beyond her programming, and began to wonder what her pourpose and identitiy even were.

While wandering outside, she would encounter the magical girl group, she knew that they were the enemies of her father, but was suprised at how friendly they were to her. Everyone would then become shocked when Tikal chose her as the seventh magical girl, and Eggman had no idea about this.

This caused her to become even more conflicted about whose side she should be on. But she would make her final decision once Eggman caused destruction in Station Square.

Seeing how horrible her father really was, she finally had the objective she was searching for: Defeat Eggman and protect the world.

In this AU, Eggman created Sage a lot earlier than in canon, around the time this AU's events of Sonic Adventure took place. (And yes, Eggman is the one who destroys Station Square instead of Chaos)

Her companions are Mighty and Ray, for the same reason as Amy. This also makes her the only magical girl with two companions.

Bonus Magical Girl: Eggette

A mysterious girl who somewhat resembles a female Ivo, she's a Dark Magical Girl who is Maria's rival, and later Sage's rival as well. It's unknown what her goals are or if she's connected to Eggman at all, but Tikal knows that she didn't give her a wand.

Eggette pretty much has a similar role to Sonic 3 Knuckles in this AU.

Her companion is Fang the Sniper/Nack The Weasel, but sometimes Fang/Nack battles the girls on his own too.

Possible Shadow counterpart to Maria?

Since this AU will also adapt Sonic Adventure 2. It made me wonder if Maria should have a Shadow counterpart of her own to replace Shadow's role in the original game. Also acting as a Dark Magical Girl like Eggette.

I don't think it's entirely nessicary, since Sage is the closest thing Maria has to a 'Shadow' counterpart. And Eggette can fill the Sonic/Shadow "boss battles" in the OG as well. But It could still be done if people are interested in that idea.

A funnyman's recap of Blue Archive

Volume 1 Chapter 1

The archiving system of this game's story can be confusing, but you end up rolling with it at some point.

Anyhow, we begin this first actual storyline of the game by Sensei accepting a plea for help from a smaller school.

Turns out Abydos Academy used to be the largest school before desertification ate most of the land belonging to it, resulting in attempts at disaster relief eating through funds. This got the school in deep shit with loan sharks...

And this is basically why that school only has 5 students remaining.

What the fuck.

But Sensei is undaunted and goes there on his own!

Except the district is still large as hell, so they end up lost and dehydrated after three hours. Considering it's a desert district...

But yeah, Sensei then gets found by a student who winds up taking them piggyback to Abydos Academy, where we meet the Foreclosure Task Force, aka the five last students of Abydos.

Now, I will have the cliffnotes less detailed here BC certain details will be mentioned as I go along this story.

These are the last members of their school, and they are up shits creek without a paddle. Under siege by delinquents and over 900 Million Yen (about 9 Million Dollars) in debt and with almost no way to earn money, plus the interest rate, things are dire.

At least the siege can be solved by Sensei ordering some ammo for all and coordinating a counteroffensive. The debt, not so much.

Turns out Abydos went ignored by the GSC for some reason (politics, probs) and Sensei is their first ray of hope in a while.

Sorta. We later learn that Nonomi is so motherfucking rich that she has a credit card with no known upper limit and could wipe the debt out in a swipe. However, principle of the thing, so no do that.

Bit dumb, considering, but they get by... barely.

So their next course of action to get some money is to find out about jobs in their area. Serika winds up falling for a pyramid scheme, so we all band together to fuck these fraudsters up.

Next suggestion: rob a bank!

Shiroko seems to be a big fan of Payday, enough so that her hobby is planning bank heists. Of course they need masks and a plan and new identities of this.

The name "Masked Swimsuit Gang" ends up sticking. (They don't even wear swimsuits here)

However, before then, a new threat arises! The loan sharks are a subsidy of Kaiser Corporation, the biggest corp in Kivotos and all-around assholes. The head twat hires a certain agency to ensure Abydos' demise and securing what remains of the land the last Prez sold off for loans.

Aru panics and regroups and then meets the girls again! While they're in masks and on their way to rob a black market bank because if has the money they paid as interest to fuck shit loans.

Everyone but Aru recognises them, who thinks they're so god damn cool for robbing a bank.

It's unfortunate that PS69- sorry, 68 gets outta dodge because asshole McGee is assmad they failed to put the screws on Abydos.

Sensei offers help, but has to be kindly refused. Don't worry, this lovable moron and her unstoppable crew of one punk chick, one imp and one High-powered depression-run bomb builder of a school girl terrorist will be back

And, yes, that one is Haruka, who winds up blowing up the Ramen store because she thought it would help Aru.

Help this girl.

Back to story: FTF can't take the money home because it wouldn't be okay, so they leave the bag with blown-up ramen shop owner (he's okay, just a little singed).

Suddenly, invasion! Not by Kaiser Corp, but by Gehenna Academy, one of the big three! They wanna learn what the fuck is up for reasons. This time, I'll write what happens with each of the featured characters in the bullet notes because that is their only appearance in the story.

[Maryverse] - My Take on the Timeline, A 2-for-1 Universe and Magical Marys

Before I actually begin with what's been described in the title of the post, I wanted to give context for what I'm planning to do, as well as the project which I'm doing this for (as this is something that I've never done before, both and being Non-Undertale/Deltarune content).

Maryverse is a project that I'd recently talked about in my most recent Artfight-Based Post, where I'd given context for the currently-known plot 'where the three members of 'Catgirl at Heart' (Mary Rosemary, Sasha Tones and Skylar McMilliwood) have to compete against bands of different music genres to play at the Tower of Melodies in the middle of Kitty City!'

This theory originally began after I had made my Artfight attack for @marnielovesyouu on Artfight.

While working on the attack, I had found that the Main Character of the project, Mary Rosemary, was originally only described as an unnamed 'sona' with this image as the first example of what she looks like:

I suggested about how the Current Design of Marnie's sona was an AU Version of Mary, with the two versions being seen interacting with eachother in two separate times, and the unnamed Mary (who I've been referring to as 'Surrealist' because of how her Reference Sheet is presented, as well as something later explained) being the source of eventually having the two separate versions. 'Surrealist' does have her place within the timeline that I was able to make.

Because the title to this post is longer than most other, I would reccomend abbreviation to 'Choker Theory', as it was the differences in (including designs which had returned in the later stages of Mary's life) and using to make assumptions for when and what would be happening during those times.

The youngest we've seen of Mary is at 10 years old as one of ‘the wee ones’, where Mary and Skylar were confirmed to know eachother as childhood ‘best friends forever’. Mary at this age has been described as sounding similar to Sheldon Cooper, or Milhouse Van Houten as an alternative suggestion from an Anonymous Ask.

The usual purple accent in Mary's hair was red during this time (which caused the nickname of ‘Bloody Mary’ after a dyeing incident that was later solved by Skylar's Parents), as this was also the time when Mary had chosen to announce her transition to her parents, Laurel and Valentina. The change from her Currently-Unrevealed Deadname from to Mary could also potentially be symbolized by the accents changing from red to pink.

Mary's school life isn't very well-known, other than it's at a time when she still wore regular, red glasses and had a triangular hairpin. It's also where she begins dating Skylar and first meets Sasha in Highschool, as well as going to a Digigirl convention known as ‘PIXICON’ (who Marnie ‘replaced’ with Starlite meaning that it's now probably a Space Girls-Themed Convention instead).

I've recently been thinking of Mary's Highschool having ‘Hairball High’ as a Headcanon Name to fit in with the other cat-based areas seen in Kitty City, and that it's where she would often play Peggle on the school computers (referencing the ‘evil bjorn’ art posted to marnielovesyouu's Tumblr Account on July 2nd of 2024 with Mary riding on top of Bjorn as he shoots lasers from his eyes), although ‘KAT COLLEGE’ is already something that exists separately. This time could also be when Mary learns more about Creepypastas and discovering the alternative meaning to her younger self's ‘Bloody Mary’ nickname, but that is another Headcanon Suggestion that I'd made (although it is somewhat based on an older idea from marnielovesyouu before ‘the wee ones’ had been designed about Mary being a creepypasta kid).

Her time at KAT COLLEGE has mostly been focused on developing plot points, with Skylar meeting Brittany, Coral and Megan, who turned Skylar against Mary for her being uncomfortably ‘weird and quirky’ when compared to who Skylar could be spending her time with. This time in Mary's life is when I imagine Mary first heard about Kitty City's Gay Bar, which currently doesn't have a canon name, but I've thought of it either being known as ‘The Purrdy Lady’ or ‘Catfight Corner’. She wouldn't reintroduce herself to Sasha at this point as he wouldn't be seen there yet, but Mary is there to take her mind off of Skylar's new “friends” after everything said by them about Mary had pissed her off (which is also based on Mary's recently-decided rule of how ‘she gets one piss per episode’).

Mary begins her job at a Hot Topic-Inspired Shop (which currently doesn't have a final name decided for it by Marnie) soon after leaving KAT COLLEGE, putting her people-pleasing tendencies to the unfortunate retail test, and it's where the idea for Catgirl at Heart is first thought of as a one man band. This would be where the name of 'Surrealist' would first be considered, with it being planned as a stage name for Mary to use during solo acts.

Although she eventually prioritizes lyric writing and being the band's guitarist/singer in present day, she's also shown to have experience with a microphone from when Mary can be seen holding one in the ‘All sold out? I have an idea!’ post from January 2nd, 2024 as she was simultaneously taking her shirt off (which was suggested through an Anonymeous Ask based on the tags of an earlier post which said about how ‘Apparently she wears a shirt sometimes’ from December 29th of 2023 where ‘She should take it off’ and ’what who said that’), as well as playing the piano and keyboard as other instruments, from what is later revealed from a sketch of her room, which is also possibly the case that ‘Surrealist’ is carrying on the second piece of art of her from June 15th of 2021. Because it has the keyboard inside that has only ever been seen inside Mary's room with her current design, it's likely that the keyboard is the primary instrument used to make covers of Video Game SoundTracks.

However, after an overwhelming day of work and many crumpled pieces of paper later, Mary revisits the Gay Bar. And two seats along, likely two seats down and leaning on her elbow for the additional coolness factor, was Sasha Tones. Mary was quick to fall in multiple contexts, making an ass of herself as she clumsily lands on her face. It took multiple visits, minor accommodation and bite-sized interactions, but Sasha was eventually the one to make it official as Mary's BoyGirlfriend and behind-the-scenes guy for Catgirl at Heart (which Mary had forgotten to specify because of her moments of infodumping across various niche topics).

After Catgirl at Heart is formed as the one man band it was initially planned to be, Mary eventually receives her first fanart. It's a simple sketch of herself being seen leaving hearts around her, but with more emphasis on the ‘catgirl’ element of herself when performing. Likely because of the band's name, Mary had also been given a visible fang, as well as cat ears and a tail. But what really brought everything together in a bundle of emotion and felicity was the message attached, with ‘I 🤍 U’ written in the upper-left corner of the page. This is why she was making music. Not just for herself, but for others also.

After seeing this, Mary is quick to tell Sasha about it, which eventually has the idea of Sasha possibly joining Catgirl at Heart as more than just a behind-the-scenes guy. Although I'm not exactly sure how Mary and Sasha would be written because of the differences between my Writing Style and marnielovesyouu's, but I think that the idea of Sasha becoming the drummer would be described through how fitting it would be to what he has already presented herself doing as a biker and professionally chilled-out badass. But with a surprising opposite to how their dynamic was in the bar scene, it was Mary mentioning how good it would feel to see the two being drawn together that had settled it. After that conversation, flattery finds its drummer, if flattery's name was Catgirl at Heart.

Mary has been confirmed to keep every fanmade present that she's ever been given, which is why I think that she could also later embody these details from her first fanart, and will let her known silliness shine at times to make her guitar cable look like a cat's tail.

Finally, although they have the least information available for them, there have been two future versions of Mary, which are a 22-Year-Old Future AU Version and ‘grandma Mary’. The Future AU Mary may not be canon, as marnielovesyouu has said that she will likely remain 20 after Marnie herself turns 20 (which she already has, and the was very impressive Fanart seen as a result of it!) because she doesn't want ro be ‘drawing grandma Mary on my deathbed’, but the idea of her ageing further is still a possibility.

22-Year-Old/Future AU Mary is the only one of the two being mentioned in this segment to have a design, which uses the second choker design from when Mary was only known by ‘Surrealist’ (which would've been after thinking of Catgirl at Heart based on My Take of the Timeline), as well a Jacket Design similar to Mary's from when marnielovesyouu was ‘MarnieSurr’ on Tumblr and Artfight in 2021 but with additional hearts seen across its sleeves.

Although it isn't as timeline-focused as everything else described, ‘grandma Mary’ implies that Mary will eventually have children and grandchildren, meaning that Mary's body is still affected by traits of Alexandria's Genesis (‘Women also do not menstruate, but are fertile’) despite her purple eyes now being caused by contact lenses.

(Anything that hasn't been added to this description is either still quite unclear in regards to its canonicity, something that has definitely been retconned, or ideas likely to be expanded on in the potential Maryverse TV Series, such as how the Battle of the Bands will be presented.)

Everything under the 'Read More' is to marnielovesyouu's other project, Luluverse, which is another one of marnielovesyouu's projects based on Magical Girl animes such as Madoka Magica.

For a smaller, bonus theory, I also thought about the possibility of Luluverse and Maryverse being connected to eachother. Lulu has been shown to be a fan of Catgirl at Heart, saying that ‘their music has helped me a lot through some tough times’, even having a picture taken with all three band members. Mary and Lulu have also been seen together in two other posts, which include ‘OC universe…. CROSSOVER!!!’ and ’Lulu meets her favorite artist’, with Lulu even being seen wearing Catgirl at Heart merchandise.

Both also have forests that relate to the story of the Main Cast before a transformation (Mary and Skylar used to play in the forest when they were younger at a similar time to when Mary announced her transition, and Lulu finds Jam Packet at an abandoned house in The Dead Forest before her hair becomes ‘spikified’).

There isn't as much to this theory when compared to My Take on the Maryverse Timeline (as that was what the focus of this post was meant to be with other ideas coming from the Timeline Take when researching these projects), unless I planned to expand upon the suggestion of Mary potentially having one of the rarer ‘ancient familiars’ that appear as being closer to animals in nature, such as the white ‘Birdy Birdy’ that Mary is seen calling over to her through whistling. that the jacket often worn by Mary is her magical girl outfit (similarly to how Lulu is with Jam Packet), which is also why she leaves hearts wherever she goes.

You know, Streets of New Capenna was the first set that I started collecting cards for when I got back into magic after a decade long hiatus and I was absolutely ravenous for the aesthetic. I was a freak for these Three Piece Suited Paladins and Catgirl Jewel Thieves. But then I actually read the stories and promotional material and I was thoroughly not impressed.

So what's a girl to do? Find something else to hyperfixate on? I could do that ORRRRR I could imagine an edgy grittier version of New Capenna that revolves around themes I find fascinating and imagery I find evocative in relation to old school Americana.

Yeah, I think I'm gonna do that second thing, and also I'll be making this a thread.

-hatsune miku stops a suicide attempt (this girl who lost herself due to severe emotional abuse and manipulation from her mother tried to strand herself in one of the previously mentioned worlds created from psyches, but miku saves her)

-a highschooler makes a borderline if not outright sapient robotic replica of his childhood friend. nobody considers this a particularly world shattering achievement of ai (this is the guy who blows stuff up)

-the robot was created to help with social anxiety/stage fright (the girl is very social anxiety!! she is an INCREDIBLE singer but due to failing in the past, she cant sing in front of others so she uses the doll)

-the robot has rocket launchers (what can i say the guy who made it is very silly)

-the robot has a job as a theme park performer and gets a salary (yeah)

-a characters family member is dead and it takes her three years to find out (light up the fire... eughh.... not much context honestly it is what it is)

1 normal guy, 25 crazy girls

College first-year Romeo Adachi is a generic boy, studying to be a male witch, with a complex about his first name. In a crazy world filled with magical life forms, Romeo has no special features. Juliet Oyamada, a catgirl who is a year older than him, also has a complex about her name….

One day they meet, and end up hating each other. Then they find out each other’s first name… and chaos ensues.

Romeo and Juliet hate each other, but can’t seem to ever be separated. Especially since their families want them to get married because of their “star-crossed names.” (Even though in Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet, the two families hated each other. Oh the irony!)

At the hidden magic college they go to, only 10% of the current student body is male. Romeo has a long time crush on the cheerful and sporty fox fauna girl, Ashley.

In Romeo’s class, there are 5 boys and 25 girls.

Romeo is an extremely plain guy surrounded by 25 crazy magic girls of all kinds of tropes. This manga is kind of a parody and the tropes are played with.

The world is a magical version of Earth. The school is a college campus that teaches magic, and is a very zany school filed with dungeons and secret rooms. There is also an adventurous twist in the story. Eventually.

The girls also all seem a bit bisexual.

A fauna is a person with animal ears and a tail.

The characters are as follows…

Tsundere girl with twintails- Juliet Oyamada the catgirl. She is messy, aggressive, bad-mannered, but has a good heart… and is surprisingly cute. She has orange hair in wavy long twintails.

Genki tomboy who loves sports- Ashley, Romeo’s initial crush and childhood friend from late elementary. A fox girl who is chaotic, uncouth, loud, deranged. She has boyish red hair.

The modest everygirl- Ichigo the dog fauna who has a crush on Romeo. Has been friends with Romeo since early high school. She has short pink hair.

Most adorable girl ever- Tomona the alien. She has pink skin, black hair, and antennae-like alien ears. Very innocent. She says “boop” after everything.

Shy nerdy book girl- Kyoko the cyclops. Kyoko is quiet, but knowlegable a wide range of subjects. She reads everything she can get her hands on. She cries easily, but hates to do so because a cyclops crying with one eye as is deemed a spectacle of sorts.

Mysterious pretentious girl- Daphne the reptile fauna dragon girl. She fakes being mysterious, basically.

Sassy gyaru girl- Leigh the bunnygirl. Leigh is confident and a bit loud, but kind and quite intelligent. She wears the gyaru fashion style and is a dancer. She is half-Uruguayan.

Masculine fighter girl- Kirara, centaur with an unfitting cute name. Kirara has a shaved head. She does martial arts, and can do a few extra moves due to being a centaur.

Dummy baka airhead girl- Hilda the chubby elfin girl. Hilda’s mind is always somewhere else. She also yells a lot. She is 4 feet and 6 inches. She is chubby.

Shy shrinking violet girl- Tasha the fairy. Tasha can shrink down to fairy size when she wants. She is very shy and doesn’t like to be seen, so it’s often. She is Black and has purple braids.

Sparkly cute idol girl- Aimi the android girl. Aimi was an android built to sing and dance, but she became sentient.

Normal tsukkomi girl- Amanda the harpy. Amanda thinks she’s the only normal person in this whole school. She constantly remarks when people are being Weird. She has a beak. 

Otaku girl- Hyorin, Korean fairy girl. She moved to Japan because she loves anime. Hyorin loves the yuri genre and secretly loves girls herself… She even has two moms.

Classy well-mannered girl- Etsuko who has 3 eyes. She also has lavender skin and horns. She is classy and strict, and cannot handle uncouth things and people.

Wild girl who causes mischief- Meiran, Chinese, undead monster girl. She is always causing mischief and yelling. And living live to the extreme. And yelling.

Genius stoic emotionless girl- Zoey the serpentine girl. Nobody knows what goes on in Zoey’s head, but it’s a lot.

Sweet sleepy girl- Sonya the cyclops monster girl. She has a comfy presence. Sonya can’t wink because she has one eye. She is prone to falling asleep.

Zany inventor girl- Ayana, giraffe girl transfer student from Tanzania. She wears huge nerdy glasses. She also has a long neck. Ayana is always yelling “eureka!” 

The mean queen girl- Minoru, called “Meanie” by boys, ghost undead. Minoru is your classic telenovela mean girl. Why is she so mean? What a snob.

Big sister girl- Urara is Kirara’s older sister and a centaur. Urara is very sweet, protective, and nurturing. She also gets into fights and kicks butt.

Tough punk sukeban girl- Nicole the wolf fauna. A lone wolf, who is similar to Miyu but doesn’t get along with her. They are rivals from opposing gangs. She has… you guessed it, a soft spot for cute things.

Yankee gang girl- Miyu the horned banshee. She is from an opposing gang to Nicole and clashes with her. She is always yelling and is very uncouth.

Goth musician girl- Rune the android alien girl. She loves to rock, demonic style.

Clumsy girl- Anisa the cheerful Indonesian Muslim deer fauna, a baker. She loves to cook but often spills her batter and trips over crumbs… But her cakes and cookies are usually delicious and filled with love… and sometimes random items she clumsily lost in the batter.

Edgy chuunibyou girl- Aurelia Xiomara Petrichor VII. A vampire. Yes, that’s her real name. She is pretentious and is a lord of the darkness.

The plain generic guy- Romeo Adachi. He’s so normal that it’s weird.

Obnoxious friend- Sugano the obnoxious yelling vampire. He is bald.

Handsome senpai friend- Kawamoto the sexy alien. He has a mustache.

Shy guy friend- Kizaki the ghost undead beaver fauna boy. He is soft.

Manly muscle guy friend- Nitta the fat bear fauna guy. He has a beard. He is gentle but kind of strange sometimes. Lots of muscle.

Eccentric teacher- Emma Hoshimi the art teacher is zany and eccentric

Shy teacher- Sori Lee the science teacher is always messing around in the chemistry room and causing explosions. She is very shy though.

Strict teacher- Kasey Elmer the math teacher is usually fed up with students. And life.

Protective teacher- Kendra Wilson is a nice teacher who cares deeply about the students, isn’t afraid to break up fights and get to the bottom of problems.

Romeo’s loyal mutt dog- Miso the brown shaggy dog. He looks like a bear.

An adorable cat who says “nimu nimu”- Poco is a blue cat! 

A flying pig- Spot the winged pig can fly.

A little dinosaur- Toothy the little T-Rex.

A cute dragon- Garnet is an adorable dragon and a school pet.

Oh gosh!! Okay, so they're more than a decade old, and I've forgotten most of what I had for them. I honestly remember as much about them as I do Nuku Nuku.

But they were a pair of genetically engineered catgirls who were the result of a scientist's project to create the perfect bride. He wanted someone who could be both a badass tough-as-nails fighter, and a hyper feminine doll. The only two that lived long enough to develop their own personalities hit the extreme ends of this. But by that time, the scientist was found out and the project shut down. The girls were taken in by this shady government organization, and... I don't remember the next part. But they were going to join a cast of characters in a webcomic that my highly ambitious 12yo self never got off the ground

The violent badass one (I do not remember either of their names) declared herself the older twin, and was very protective of her "younger" sister. She was short-tempered and standoffish, while the younger one was a sweetheart and very friendly. The younger one was also kind of a ditz and... Honestly, I'd have such a different approach to them now. Far less bitterness and internalized bull.

There's a bit of them in one of my mahou projects, actually, about a group of feline-humanoid aliens, who crash on Earth and have to become pop idols in order to get enough positive emotional energy to restore their ship and find a way home. The protagonists are twin princesses, Stella and Dawn, and I don't have much more yet. They fled their home planet after a coup, and the enemy ship that was chasing them conveniently also crashes on Earth. That crew also has to become a magical idol group, Because Reasons, and it turns into a rivalry

TOUHOU GAIMAKEN ~ WESTERN DEMON INVASION

This one is sooooo middle school it HURTS. To be fair, this and the second one WERE made in middle school, so if the tone of the ones after really fucking shift into... not too embarrassing, that's why.

The plot: A huge fucking mansion has appeared in an uninhabited grassland along the edge of the Hakurei Border. From it, there's been an outpouring of foreign youkai and humans alike. This wouldn't actually be a problem if it weren't for the fact that, 1) For some reason, there have been false alarms of a giant breach in random places all along the border, and 2) all of the youkai are more along the mentality of Hell: needlessly flaunting their strength without regards to anything - or, more simply put, they're just skipping the danmaku and going straight to Attacking.

You're seeing what I mean when I say "this is soooo middle school" I was THEEE edgy teen back then. I tried to wear the amulet from a vampire Halloween costume on a daily basis. As I get into this first batch of characters you'll see that they're CRYSTALLIZED chuunibyou like I know it's not really an appellation you can give to an American emo teen but I was SOOOOOOO chuuni it's ridiculous. On some level I still am but now there's a level of self-awareness that lets me know this shit is CRINGE.

DIVIN SHIRONE Guardian Angel from Far Off Species: Angel Ability: Capable of reflecting light An angel sent by the bureaucracy of Heaven to make sure that humans under her watch aren't lead astray. She ended up being swept into Gensokyo with her current charge, however, and now she's at a loss as to what to do. She was hoping that she could leave at some point, but she was struck down by the protagonist when she went to ask for directions out. As it turns out, that action was futile, so now she's resting around the area, waiting to find a human that needs guidance.

First up: the first stage midboss. She never appears after this, btw, I think I just fucking forgot she existed. The mixing of a mangled english first name and that utauloid-ass last name... Is she a vtuber (lol)? Her ability is also a fucking joke on the fact that she's essentially just a white girl wearing white clothing. It's called being snow-blind. Still, for a stage one midboss, you could do worse than some random bitch who just wanted directions out.

LILILILI NEKONEKO Cat Monster Armed to the Teeth Species: Cat youkai Ability: Capable of forging swords A youkai that was born when a pet housecat was caught in a magical explosion. Rather than dying, she was reborn as a cat youkai. Immature, she still felt loyal to her owner, so she went to go find him. Her feelings towards him are more of a daughter's feelings towards a beloved father. Her ability allows her to create swords, provided she has even the tiniest bit of scrap metal. She is not seen without at least one sword on her person. She later showed up to use her sword creation power to arm Akuma with a blade powerful enough to defeat the protagonist. This did not work.

THIS ONE... OH MY GOD. Okay the LORE of this character: I made the initial template of this character in Walfas (WALFAS. THAT'S HOW OLD THIS CHARACTER IS.), but I made it under the artistic direction of my FUCKING SEVEN-YEAR-OLD SISTER. Granted, I asked her for this, but what we ended up with was some random little catgirl in full Yuyuko cosplay. I don't even remember what her original ability was, but when I later codified these characters, I changed it to "making swords" and made it so she wasn't. fucking dressed like Yuyuko. I didn't change her name, though. This is because I wanted to embarrass my sister and also because I love this like, stupid little idea that she named herself because she doesn't want to be, like, named "Stinky". Also originally, her feelings towards her old owner were "she thinks he's her big brother", but I changed that too. Speaking of...

BAKUTO SAKURETSU Red-Hot Explosive Temperament Species: Human Ability: Capable of causing explosions A rare man who actually understands the beauty of danmaku. Will relentlessly pursue anyone who ticks him off. Seemed to have gained his powers recently, but they've been growing stronger at an exceptional rate. The previous owner of Lililili. Doesn't seem to recognize her in the slightest, so he feels extremely cold to her bouts of affection. After causing a massive explosion following a traumatic event, Bakuto went to seek sanctuary in the House of Damien, which he had heard of in whispers. However, he can't remember who the whispers were from. Though he didn't know it, these whispers were the workings of Beto. He's honestly just here for a good time in this transient world.

GOD. GOD. GOD. GOD. GOD. GOD. GODDDDDD. I TOLD YOU THIS SHIT WAS MIDDLE SCHOOL CRINGE. In case you're wondering, the "traumatic event" was just that his boyfriend was cheating on him and he caught them. So he fucking got so apoplectic that he gained explosion powers. FUN FACT: I was in middle school WELL BEFORE My Hero Academia was real. I like to imagine Horikoshi is such a hack writer he used telegraphy powers to steal my ideas from across the globe (lol). Bakuto is another character that doesn't actually show up past this "game", but I think later Sumireko's gonna meet him again and have little notes that Bakuto's "really simmered down after meeting Kourin" which implies that the one thing Bakuto needed to become domestic is the worst dick in his life.

MAIKO AMEGUMO Maid of Torrential Downpours Species: Human Ability: Capable of causing rain A random maid of the House of Damien. She used to be the head maid for a notoriously rich man. She often found herself imagining herself as the heroine in a terrible romantic light novel, in which the rich man fell in love with a poorer maid of his. So, while it was no shock to us that he chose someone he was actually attracted to instead, she was in shock. She ended up flooding the entire manor in a fit of grief, and was only saved because she thought to leave the manor beforehand. Now out of a job, she wandered around a bit before finding herself at another large manor in the middle of nowhere. There, she was welcomed by the head maid of the House of Damien. Regardless, she was as surprised by the change of scenery as anyone else, so she simply continued her duties. Her ability is the creation of rain clouds. She can control just how much rain falls and how hard it does so. Mainly, she uses this ability to clean.

THIS CHICK... PARASOCIAL??? YOU NEED TO LOG OFF??? I love the downplaying I keep putting in these early bios like GIRL YOU'RE ON THE RUN FOR MASS MURDER. Fun fact! This essentially makes her kind of a warped foil to Bakuto. Bakuto was in a relationship that ended... explosively. Meanwhile, Maiko had the fantasy of a relationship that she ended up killing everyone even remotely involved when she learned it wasn't real. They even have fire and water powers. I like to think they'd be friends if I didn't make it so they canonically despise each other.

GASHAKO KIKINMARU Eater of This World's Transient Forms Species: Yuurei Ability: Capable of eating forever A ghost bound to her skull. Long ago, she ate only gourmet foods, but one day, during a famine, she was forced to eat her own family. Later, she ate herself. Because of the evil nature of her death, she became a ghost, haunting her remains (which were never properly found). Later, her manor was converted into the House of Damien, but not without her knowing. She is bound specifically to her skull, and can therefore not exist more than a few feet from it. She can, however, pick it up, which saves her some mobility issues. Because she's a ghost, she doesn't have to worry about physical limitations all that much, which comes in handy because she's always hungry.

OH GOD.... OKAY. THERE'S A BIT OF LORE WITH THIS BITCH. Keep in mind: I was a HELLACIOUS little weeb. Around this time, mothy's songs were getting REALLY big. You see where I'm going with this. Additionally, this was actually the FIRST Touhou OC I ever made. This was because, as a chuuni little bitch, I had a fucking FAKE SKULL I liked to carry around. You can see where those influences came into play here. Even WORSE was the fact that Gashako Kikinmaru wasn't even her original name. Whereas with Lili, the design changed but the name didn't, the opposite happened: I kept the design (because it genuinely fucks, it's like, blue on blue on white with bone decals and she's sickening), but the name... Her name was just two Mortal Kombat characters. I'll let you guess which ones. Lastly, this bitch ended up being my first "prediction" character because her "ability to continuously eat" ended up predating Yuuma Toutetsu. A mess of a character. I love her.

BETO The Footsteps You Hear at Night Species: Betobeto-san Ability: Capable of creating footsteps An old-fashioned youkai from the Nara prefecture. She spent quite some time tormenting travelers on moonlit paths, but as the world got brighter, she began to lose power. People just weren't afraid of disjointed footsteps when the path was well-lit. She ended up leaving the prefecture, and found herself staring into the eyes of Akuma. They were both in shock. The two ended up becoming good friends, however, so it apparently all works out in the end. Akuma required a place to stay, unfortunately, so Beto led her to an old abandoned manor she had heard about. This was Gashako's old manor, and she let them live there. Beto, now with two friends when she previously had none, suddenly desired more company, so she sought out people who ended up wandering down the path looking dejected. This also ended up including many foreign youkai. Upon hearing one of their plans to relocate to Gensokyo, Beto thought to herself, "Perhaps I could go there as well." She couldn't bear the thought of leaving behind Akuma, however, so they made plans to transport the entire House of Damien (as they had begun calling it). Beto, unaware that the Barrier actually accepted foreign arrivals like theirs, began to use her power to set off false alarms all over the entire border to distract from the real Incident: the transportation of the House of Damien. While it succeeded, their stealth mission was spoiled by several of the foreign youkai running out and causing a havoc, not knowing of Gensokyo's rules.

Honestly my favorite of this group. She's so fucking creepy and I love her for it. Canonically she also doesn't have eyes. Like I cover her face with a veil but she DOES NOT have eyes. Imagine going from some friendless loser to snagging TWO bad bitches and essentially opening up a homeless shelter for monsters and humans alike. She likes sneaking up behind people, as well. There's also a bit from the actual story I like where in the middle of the fight she just stops and asks if this makes her and the protag friends and when they just go "...I guess? What?" she just happily continues attacking and only leads you to Akuma because you're friends now. :)

AKUMA DAEMON Grand Demon Lord of the House of Damien Species: Demon Ability: Capable of creating invisible walls A Western-style demon. She found herself quite disliking the whims and ways of her more bloodthirsty compatriots, so she set off from Hell, hoping to reform. Eventually, she found the best way to become a decent person was to use charity, and so she traveled the world, doing various good deeds. She would often change her name doing so, as her true name is quite unpronounceable to those that do not speak Daemonic. Currently, as her travels have taken her to Japan, she goes by Akuma. While in Japan, she happened upon Beto, and the two became fast friends. "I could finally settle down," is what Akuma thought. However, they would need a house. Fortunately, they found Gashako's old manor, and since she wasn't using it, the three converted it into a sanctuary for outcasts and monsters alike. Soon, they found the need to relocate. But where? Beto had heard whispers of a place called Gensokyo, said to be a haven for the world's fleeting population for mythological beings and figures. Akuma, readily agreeing, began the transport as soon as Beto provided the necessary distractions. And so, the House of Damien was now on a grassland along the far side of the Hakurei Border. Invigorated by the natural magical energy permeating Gensokyo, many of the various monsters and humans with powers went out to see how things are, not knowing the rules of Gensokyo. And thus was the Foreign Youkai Incident.

This name........ Bro I COULD NOT have picked a more EDGY NAME IF I TRIEDDDDDD. In case you're wondering, Lili is the stage 6 midboss, and she gives Akuma (THIS NAME....) what's essentially Excalibur. But because it's a replica, it can't guarantee victory. Anyways, Akuma (WAUGH) has a gimmick to her fight where she'll use her ability to make invisible walls to just, actively close in the screen borders, giving you less room to move around in. This actually probably makes her the most difficult of all bosses I've designed. Imagine trying to dodge with an incredibly narrow X-Axis... Terrifying. That right there is why she's the boss. However, if this fucking name doesn't scream middle school edge... Oh my god you're not ready for the extra boss.

AKAKO (ROSE EVANS) The Girl Stained in Red and Ichor Species: Human Ability: Capable of causing fear A girl from a completely different dimension. In the dimension she hails from, zombies overtook the entire world. Rose is one of the last humans surviving. The incident happened sometime in 2005. What was said to be uncontrollable nuclear radiation mutated corpses so that they would ambulate. The truth of this matter is much more sinister, but let's ignore that for now. With no real concept of life or death, the zombies could still be exterminated using brute strength or impressive magic. Rose is the one using brute strength. Utilizing a road sign that she scavenged, she set out, taking out zombie after zombie. Eventually, she gained no sense of fear, but her general aura instilled apprehension and fear into the hearts of others. One day, she discovered a lone scientist who had developed a dimensional transporter. It would send her to other dimensions. And it did. However, alternate dimensions and zombies were still a thing of fantasy in the dimension she was heading, so she ended up getting intercepted by the Hakurei Border. Upon arrival, her power immediately manifested and kicked into full overdrive. A passing fairy, fainting almost immediately, uttered "Akako"... And that is how Akako came to be in Gensokyo.

Every time. Every time I review WDI's characters, I actively skip Akako because it's SOOO chuuni. What IS THIS. Alternate dimensions? Zombie apocalypses? USING A STOP SIGN AS A WEAPON? AND THIS FUCKING NAME. ROSE EVANS? AKAKO? GIRL GET A COOLER NAME. YOU'RE FROM THE APOCALYPSE NAME YOURSELF SOME SHIT LIKE COMBUSTION ENGINE OR SOMETHING. Imagine getting assigned Akako at Fairy I think I'd just fucking leave. Also of course her eyes glow red. Of course they do. Miss thing's the PINNACLE of edge. Luckily this means it doesn't get too bad later.

All the characters have some charm. It's just... God, Gaimaken was a fucking ROUGH START. All of them have shades of this level of chuuni, but this is where it's ACTIVELY BAD. They don't really show up all that much in later installments (unless I put Akako in the phantasmagoria-type...? Eh, I forgot who I made playable in that one anyways.), but that's mostly because I think the ending is that everyone essentially integrates seamlessly into either Hell or Gensokyo, and meanwhile Akuma (BLEGH), Beto, and Gashako are just having fun in their giant fucking house with their seventy maids. As mentioned, Bakuto starts getting disgustingly domestic with Kourin despite everything else about himself and he vanishes entirely. Lili ends up trying to arm the feral cats in Mayohiga. Akako is somewhere in the woods I think. Divin has evaporated from the plot and probably left Gensokyo entirely.

And meanwhile, on the exact opposite side of Gensokyo, a new structure appears... This one more internally thematic, but still stupidly middle school.
