STORY INTRO:

FAERIE'S DAWN

Following the Shattering of Reality, the world was plunged into what came to be known as the Faewildes: an ever-changing world suffused with magic and danger. Humanity crumbled under the weight of the new reality while fae—and the archfae above them—emerged to rule over the new world. Humans couldn't compete against the fae's sheer magical prowess, and soon built strongholds in territories with weak magical presence to stand against them. Now, so many generations later, humanity has finally learned of faekind's weakness: metal, which weakens fae and blocks their magic. A war is breaking out between humanity and fae, with gods each picking sides in the conflict. Between faeries Nova, Cloud, and Sky, and the human settlement Eve and Asa protect... who will win?

(Psst... to fans of the Existential of Magic��aka “Ailwyn, God of the Faewildes”—this story has them as a major player! You'll see a lot of them in here! Your guys' overwhelming love for them motivated me to write this story lmao)

I managed to finish everything in time, alleluia. Which means I'm done with the challenge and can draw for myself again x)

The theme of the challenge was some magical academy mystery, but I turned it into a fantasy tale about goblins that use mushroom magic and fairies that use flower stuff. The main character is half-fairy, half-goblin, so they can use both. I just wasn't in a mood for a "Harry Potter" kind of story that this challenge clearly pushed, ooops.

The game itself is supposed to be an rpg platformer like Ori or Hollow Knight, although not rogue-like. I don't know if it matters anyway x)

She's living in a magic world where your eye colour determines your magic and because she has heterochromia it was very difficult for her to find a familiar with the same magic as hers but then she saved a kitten and bonded with it and the kitten changed his eye colour to match with hers, so now she is able to use magic.

Wanted: a good fantasy novel/series

The thing is I'm looking for something kind of specific? I want a fantasy, like maybe a quest fantasy? But, I don't want it set on Earth at all and I don't want some "not like other girls" heroine. I definitely don't want "sex with a monster" romance. A love story is...fine? But, not essential. Maybe a sword and sorcery setting?

What I do want is fairies, unicorns, mermaids, little fae creatures living in mushrooms. Goblins, trolls, giants. CUTE. Whimsical. Like, the plot can, maybe even should, have serious stakes, but I don't want grim and gritty. I want something with a sense of humor, but not vulgar humor. lol Something optimistic.

The Witcher series is well-written, but it just wasn't any fun.

I dunno. I just want a good, old-fashioned fantasy story. And, of course, I've already read Tolkien and C.S. Lewis. It doesn't have to be an extremely long series or book.

Christian fantasy of this kind would be awesome!

Any suggestions?

Okay, seriously tho, if you're actually interested in the project, it's called Faerie's Dawn! I've officially announced it and already put out a couple parts, with more queued and even more to come lol.

For now, I'm simply releasing my outlines (which are essentially scripts) as a sort of "early access" thing here on Tumblr! I will eventually be posting them on AO3 as well, and an actually-written prose-book version on Tapas!
