Solomon’s Cross Saga - Gospel of Tyranus Arc

Prologue: An Overseas Adventure Begins - The_country_of_magic.

Kamijou Touma turned in the 'bed' that had been his ever since Index had appeared in his life but the only thing that came to his mind was the fact that it was so comfortable. It was a thought that truly sent a shiver up his spine (something that not only attributed to the cold tiling) at how he had gotten used to it. What was left after that anyway!? He felt that all he needed to master was sleeping on no surface at all and then standing up with his eyes open and then he would be able to sleep through thick and thin.

But perhaps the scary thing was that he actually thought that there were situations that he might have to resort to that.

"-uma."

"-ama!"

"-ahhhh."

"-ous?"

Kamijou turned in his 'bed' as soft sounds entered his ears. He was tired, more so than usual and there was a perfectly good reason for it.

Given the disaster that Aogami Pierce and Tsuchimikado Motoharu had put him through, there was an everlasting feeling of guilt in his heart regarding what had happened during the pool incident that had happened yesterday. Personally, it had been the fault of that bastard who had sent the notes at the end so he had tried to all ends to hunt them down so that he could beat the crap out of them but to no avail.

"-yahhhh."

"-culous. Oi, you midget. Get that thing in front of you and pour it on his face."

"I'm not a midget but here we go!"

Kamijou truly wished that he would have a greater chance to have a good night's sleep however a sudden scorching liquid as poured on his face, causing him to yelp in pain as he rolled of the side of bed.

Normally, given that he was sleeping in his bathtub, the only that he would have endured was perhaps a light wound on the head from hitting the side of the tub however his body strangely seemed to pass through that very wall and fall off the side of the 'bed' that he was before he floated in the air for a moment before smashing onto the ground.

"WHAT THE-!? What the hell is this!?"

Kamijou let out that yell as he opened his eyes however immediately found himself stopping all thoughts as he looked around the scenery that he found himself in, one thing coming to mind.

This...was not his dorm room.

In fact where was this?

He was in a corridor that was long, chairs placed on both sides of the corridor however only those that were in the right side were filled. The floor was carpeted with red and small windows covered the sides of the walls that seemed narrow and Kamijou was sure that if he jumped up, he would be able to touch the roof with relative ease.

His thoughts began to wander however a burning sensation that covered most of his face immediately brought him back to where he was placed.

"Oi! What did you put on me?! This smells like…..cream soup!? Which one of you-MIYUKI! What are you think you're doing to your brother!?" yelled Kamijou before he dealt with any other issues.

"I-It wasn't me Nii-sama!" stuttered Sakatsuki Miyu in a panic despite the fact that in her hands was a small bowl of what looked as though had steaming cream soup on the bottom. It seemed as though the white of the cream soup did not serve to stain Kamijou's clothes much, apart from the blue sleeves and the brown pants that he was wearing.

"The hell it wasn't! Where did you even get that?! I don't need to have a great deduction to tell that the criminal was you!"

Kamijou frantically started to rub his face on his clothes, thankful that he had managed to get the smell from the rubbish tip out during his shower earlier in the day.

"N-No, it was Othi-chan's idea! Othi-chaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaan…"

Miyu whined as she looked down to her lap, an annoyed voice coming from her lap in the process.

"How many times have I told you to not call me that!? Do you think it's amusing to laugh at the name of a former god?!"

Miyu let out a small chuckle as she lifted up the small form that was in the chair that she was on, something that had the back laid flat like the one that Kamijou now saw that he had been sleeping in.

The annoyed face of the once Magic God Othinus was lifted up in Miyu's arms much like a small doll and the struggling that Othinus was doing seemed to suggest that the position that she found herself in was hardly one she liked.

A light sigh came from one of the seats in the place they were in.

It came from a beautiful young woman with golden hair, wearing a dress that truly showed she was among the upper class, accompanied by none other than her partner in crime, Bowen Chuuno.

They were all on what was clearly a plane of sorts, one of the super sonic planes that was developed by Academy City. It flew at speeds so fast, that they could get from Japan to Europe in mere 3 or so hours.

Since my continuity takes place after Index NT (Albeit heavily canon divergent and after the Magic God Othinus arc), Kakine will retain all of the abilities that he displayed in NT with some slight modifications.

In essence, Kakine can infinitely  create a variety of objects using Dark Matter, even organs, weapons and copies of his own body. And now, he can create copies of other people, make them look indistinguishable from the original, and can construct full Personal Realities, seemingly real people, and make implementations of other people’s powers.

So he’s pretty dangerous now, a bit more so than he was in NT and especially more than he was in OT, (aka the volume where he got wrecked by Accelerator)

Speaking of Raildex, if we get a New Testament anime(s) my only requirement is for them to do the Magic God Othinus arc well. Or at least the main parts of it (NT09&10).

The rest can be Index III or Shana III level bad and it'd be alright as long as they properly animate and adapt the suffering and the ensuing volume of struggle and catharsis.

Episode of the light novel in which Accelerator received a message about the murder of Touma and Othinus аnd he immediately went to Denmark. Couldn't Aiho and Kikyou make fun of him about it?

The more Kamijou stood there, the more he was starting to see what Itsuwa was talking about. He was feeling the strange pressure that he was feeling, and he also took notice that the sky was getting darker and darker. He knew that whatever this was, was not only abnormal, it was dangerous, and it was affecting the environment around them.

Itsuwa on the other hand tensed further as the darkness seemed to draw in closer and closer to where they were. Her senses her telling her to fight and flee, that any prolonged exposure to what was coming was going to be a lethal mistake.

But to make matters worse, there was a awful sound. The sound seemed to eat away at the Magician’s nerves as she heard the scraping sounds come from an alleyway across the street. She stood in front of Kamijou who also tensed at the sound.

What was this? What was coming? Was this a magician? No, there was no traces of mana she could detect so far, which meant that whatever this was, it was no magician or Legendary Spirit. It was something that was utterly inhuman.

And Kamijou Touma and Itsuwa of the Amakusa Church were unfortunate enough to encounter it tonight.

“…Kamijou-san, please stay behind me! This enemy…isn’t someone we should take lightly!”

Kamijou nodded and remained behind Itsuwa, though was prepared to face whatever was coming.  The alleyway that they were facing just across the street felt like it was the doorway to another world entirely, a world that Kamijou would not want to enter any time soon.

Whatever this was…it was different from the likes of Fiamma and God’s Right Seat.

This was even different from Othinus when she had became a full Magic God.

This was a monster that was on the hunt for prey, and the pair was caught right within its line of sight. Even though this was something different altogether, this person…or entity, mush have been in the same category of power as those Magic Gods. In other words…

It was a monster with unfathomable power.

“….!”

But he would hold his ground. Kamijou Touma was someone who had overcame billions of worlds that were designed to break him. Something like being in the presence of a force from an unspoken territory was not going to make him waver. He didn’t want Itsuwa to fight this thing alone and to get hurt in the process.

If push came to shove, he would help her despite being an amateur when it came to magic.

This did not feel the same. It did not feel the same as other opponents that Touma had come across. Not like a human, not like an esper, not like a magician, not even like a full powered magic god.

What was down that alleyway just felt... wrong. That was the only way to describe it. Wrong. Like walking into a monster’s den, where you don’t belong. And the blackened sky did not help the feeling.

Was this dangerous presence also effecting the sky? It seemed a little too convenient to not consider it a possibility in the least.

Faint chain rattling soon accompanied the scraping sound, with the unpleasant sound only to get louder & louder. The presence was getting closer then. At the moment, it would be unknown, that with that scraping, a word... a name, was being craved into the wall of that alleyway.

Finally, that presence was no longer hidden by the alleyway. It’s appearance could be seen... something that looked... human actually. Human, but still rather scary. Red & black armor, complete with armored boots & gauntlets, a mask that shielded their eyes, chain that wrapped along the length of their arms & ended with dark sickles &... something that crawled up the edges of their jaw.

Over all, this person, this woman, this... thing... almost had the appearance of a shinobi. A very messed up shinobi.

And that messed up shinobi had turned their head to look at Itsuwa & Touma.

30 Day Anime Challenge: Day 30!!!

The last day, finally!!!! I fell behind to many times, but here’s the last of the challenge.

30. Which anime do you wish never ended and continued?

Toaru Majutsu no Index (A Certain Magical Index)

This anime had two season, and they weren’t so great. They were pretty average overall, but that’s only because it doesn’t contain a season 3.

The Index series was the first light novel I ever read, and it is also the one that got me into light novels (my life full of procrastination and staying up until 3am reading started). The anime just so happened to end just before a great arc. The pre-war arc. I really want to see the rest of this story animated. Reaching the New Testament series (sequel to index), there are amazing stories and characters and just everything!!!! I love the Magic God Othinus arc, and New Testament volume 9 is just  *Insert fangirl scream here*

ABILITIES

Imagine Breaker - The Imagine Breaker is a very mysterious ability within Touma’s right hand. The first thing we learn about it is the fact that it can negate supernatural abilities. It can be magical, esper, curse or even divine. This can be both a blessing and a curse for Touma in general. As long as a power hits Touma's right hand, it can be negated. (For example, a electromaster's lightning bolt or a Mage’s Fire Ball) However, if Touma is attacked on any other part of his body besides his right hand, then Imagine Breaker will be ineffective. This is heavily exploited when the group called GREMLIN arrives in the series as a countermeasure against Touma and the Imagine Breaker itself. For example, Touma might have some trouble fighting against a magician who uses ordinary weapons like guns. The ultimate weakness against an extraordinary power like Imagine Breaker is.. something completely ordinary. Now this isn’t just limited to magical spells or esper’s killer moves. Imagine Breaker can affect magical items as well by making them utterly useless (such as charms, clothes, etc) and just something that becomes completely normal. In other times, they stay useless as long as Touma has a hold on the object. Once he lets go, the magical item can regain it's affect in an instant. He can even affect magic circles as long as Touma uses his right hand to dispel the magic. Touma himself cannot control Imagine Breaker like an on and off switch. It’s always working and will always take affect as long as there’s a supernatural concept that it can work against. But there are certain limits to Imagine Breaker's abilities. For example, Touma cannot negate a person's soul or life force simply by shaking hands with them and he cannot completely negate the magical 'leylines' that exist within the Earth. Since these are things that are already 'natural' in the universe despite being 'unnatural'. Imagine Breaker can also make an esper unable to read Touma’s mind or use telepathy on him. Now there are some spells that are strong enough to surpass the speed of Imagine Breaker’s nullification or take more time to fully negate. (Like Index’s John Pen Mode, Stiyl's Innocentius, Fiamma’s Giant (30-50ft) Flaming Sword and Accelerator’s Wings). However, Touma has learned how to use this weakness to his advantage. In the World War III arc, Touma has been able to redirect spells and blasts like those with his right hand without fully negating the power completely. For example, if a giant beam is shot at Touma, he can redirect it to another direction by a mere twist of his wrist like light bouncing off of a prism. Also supernatural beings such as Angels are subconsciously afraid of Touma’s right hand because of the power it holds. It’s like whenever you’re about to touch a hot iron or see a giant spider. Your natural instinct is to not touch it, right? So as long as the being has sharp enough instincts to sense the Imagine Breaker, they’ll probably shy away a bit from Touma or be wary of him. Now Touma cannot fully negate a supernatural being with his Imagine Breaker unless they have a "core" or "heart" within themselves that he can properly touch and destroy. This is proven at the end of Volume 22, when Touma was able to send an Archangel back into heaven simply by punching it with his right hand. The angel was not destroyed, but simply sent back to the realm where it originally belonged. In NT5, we learn from Ollerus's theory that Imagine Breaker could possibly be a "fail safe switch" for supernatural powers if the world goes into chaos due to beings like Magic Gods. Basically, Imagine Breaker is like a cleaner that washes things off if the world gets too dirtied by magic. As stated by Ollerus, Imagine Breaker is like a reference point to return the world to an original state if it gets completely messed up and depending on one's perspective - It represents both hope and despair for all magicians. I am willing to tweak and work around how Imagine Breaker works since it's honestly a flexible power that works depending on how the plot demands it. Like for example, Imagine Breaker's effects on magical items can always be temporary since there will be characters who depend on those items and they can't become permanently useless. Of course I am always willing to talk with players about the effects relating to his ability, so no worries! Premonition Perception: After being through a myriad of battles, Touma is now able to sense a magical or psychic attack coming by subconsciously feeling the AIM fields or Telesma (Mana) around the area and guide Imagine Breaker along with his body to minimize the damage taken. Touma himself is not aware that he has this ability. This is also expanded in NT5, when he is able to sense Fiamma and Ollerus in the area. In the narrative, it was described as Touma sweating a lot and getting a freaky feeling before he finally noticed the two of them. Touma's precognition does not make him invincible as he can only minimize damage depending on how much his mind and body can comprehend at the situation at hand. It's almost like his body has acquired a "spidey sense" if you will when it comes to reacting to danger. Regeneration: It's been subtly implied through the series, but bought to life in Volume 22. Whenever Touma's right arm was cut off by Fiamma of the Right, Touma was able to regrow a new one. The details behind this are unknown, but it might have to do with 'another power' that Imagine Breaker is sealing away inside of Touma. In NT4, his right arm was destroyed once again and after going unconscious, he was told that it had returned to a normal state in 20 minutes. However, Touma was still feeling weak from the intense pain and shock from losing it. Then in NT5, he did not recover instantly after being shot from Anti-Skill. He still had to get sent to the hospital and get the bullets removed. It seems that his Regeneration ability is selective depending on the situation. Dragon Strike ('The Invisible Thing') - This 'power' seems to always appear whenever Touma loses his right arm. It come in the form of a dragon and even freaked out Fiamma (who was The Strongest Thing alive at the moment). In Volume 22, Touma was able to seal it away through his own willpower (or an even greater power) to defeat Fiamma. In NT4, we learn that this power isn't completely invincible since a Magic God named Othinus had destroyed it with ease after cutting off Touma's right hand. However, this could be because Othinus has the skill to do any feat amongst a 50/50 chance. Whatever it is, the thing seems to find purpose within Touma and protects him. After being destroyed by Othinus, Touma was told that his right hand would take a while to return to a 'normal state' after that event. In the Railgun manga, Touma ends up losing his arm again and instead of one dragon head coming out... His arm sprouts out eight of them to eat away at Misaka's dark matter. Then at the start of NT15, we get a glimpse into yet another power that may be lurking within Touma that seems to be stronger than the previous dragons that we've seen before. However, It is currently unknown what exactly lurks within in Touma's arm and what the true form of Imagine Breaker really is. Now while these powers sound amazing, Touma himself isn't unstoppable. He can still get shot by bullets or get wounded by a knife. Despite all of his protag swag, he's still a normal human who can suffer human weaknesses. Even without Imagine Breaker, Touma is a very skilled street fighter who can adapt well in battles. However, Touma is only good in one-on-one fights. If it's one-on-two, he would have some trouble. Then if it's one-on-three or more, he'll simply run away. Then he can still easily get defeated by a highly trained fighter with a martial arts specialty or even against a normal person with an unshakable resolve.

The Battle Royale and the Acqua arcs were rushed, all the fights were underwhelming as hell. And then the animation outside of that was filled with tons of still frames and oddly done smearing.

This is worse than the Shakugan no Shana adaptation. I pray that another studio does New Testament. I'd foam blood seeing the Agitate Halation or worse the Magic God Othinus arcs done by J.C. Staff

hey do you guys remember back when JC staff was making Index 2 and the trailers had it going all the way to the saint purifcation arc, but part way through they decided to end at the acdemy city invasion arc  as to not have it feel rushed 

WHERE THE FUCK DID THAT MENTATLY GO?!

like that sequence at the end of episode 17, the three heros making thier way to Russia would have been a great cliffhanger ending and allowed for most of those arcs to be better paced in thier anime adaption , and maybe gotten some SS2 in there too

“Well, it’s the first time in a while since I had a proper vacation, and I don’t have to bring Index with me, so I am in a good mood.”

“Hmph, is it because of that, or is it because you get to spend time with that girl?”

“Haha, you could say it’s that too. At the end of the day, this is something that’s been a long time coming. My only hope now is if I can avoid suffering major misfortune.”

“You know that’s unlikely right? As your understander, I know just how bad your misfortune can be, as you do as well. But that hasn’t stopped you from reaching out your hand to reach for what you want. But I suppose I should ask you are you willing to go beyond that step? Are you going to do as you always do and overcome your misfortune? You know what I’m talking about, right?”

“....”

“Take this advice from a former god. It’s best to be frank and upfront about these sorts of matters. Whether or not she still accepts you as is isn’t what’‘s important; at the end of the day, even if you fail to achieve the result you wanted, you can still say you did your best and concede with a smile. Compared to those infinite hells I subjected you to, this is nothing.”

“Yeah... I’m not really the best kind of person when it comes to this sort of thing, but even so, I shouldn’t let something like misfortune stop me from seeking something I want to hold on to with my own two hands. Things might not go my way at all, and knowing me, it’s almost a certainty, but even if that’s the case, I could say I did my best in that regard and walk away smiling. Thanks for the reminder, Othinus.”
