He was named after the city his mama was born in and from there on out his name was no longer Austin, but Tex. The Memphis Mafia came up with that one. Halle Mae didn’t like it one bit, thought he sounded like a gang member. “C’mon Red, he’s not some kinda gangsta, he’s a 6 year old lil’ boy!” he remembers his mama saying. He ran around with his dads friends and failed to make friends his age. He eventually met Stephen Booker in 4th Grade and they soon became best friends. They hung out all the time, and Elvis and Halle Mae were just happy that their son had made some true friends, not just his Uncles.

When she had her babies, Halle felt so alone without El with her, but Jerry had stepped in and helped her through it. He was the triplets father figure but he never replaced Elvis, never could.
