does this picture make me laugh because of knowing when we, as a player, bury a body for the first and only time in the game, and what role we play and under which circumstances?
(everyone is drunk, annoyed, one is throwing up, the other just beginning to feel like doing the same, the one who should be burying the body forgot about the body in the first place, and it's muddy and vito is ruining his first good shoes)
does it make me laugh when i realize that joe was too busy throwing up, singing, and telling vito about the lovely night and taking a stroll through the park as if he were serenading him?
does it make me laugh when i realize that henry looks "cool" literally for like three seconds in the game (in five scenes combined) but he is possibly the biggest idiot [affectionate] of them all?
does it make me laugh when i know that the game was always (sometimes more, sometime less obviously) making fun of these "wiseguys", showing us the very same humans we know or are, being silly even when burying a damn body, fucking up literally every job, bickering all the time?
it sure does.
does it make me long for a different game, for a few more missions and scenes, for a game where henry had a bigger role, where the trio was truly the trio? where he could, for a moment, truly be who he felt he should be? does it make me feel like i am watching some serious shit, the coolest mobster movie ever?
it sure does.

Salvatore deserved to have a chat with Vito after meeting Tommy
Because Tommy really was like, "LABIRINTO??!! WHAT THE FUCK IS THAT" only to see a maze in the garden and go, "oh. A labyrinth. I see!"
I'd kill him
just found out that originally in enemy of the state vito went to giuseppe to learn how to open a safe and there was an option to hire salvatore m1 to assist him… look what they took from us

«i had a dream about my funeral tonight» carlo after moretti's murder, who sometimes wonders if the same fate will befall him
Tumblr media Tumblr media
«I sullied my youth with the most vulgar of dreams: In black cars that look like big turtles Shouting out over other people's thoughts in their skulls I'll have a dream about my funeral The bitter rubber of drunken saliva stretches and stretches, a stubborn thread And it ends, thinning When it ends, I'll be gone too Find me, find me, find me under the fence Eyes, eyes, eyelids, lips Black flame» ^ won't link the song but here's the other one that may fit the mood i guess. anyway it's a good song
«Dad, the kids are out in the yard They're burying a bird Not a pigeon or a tit Dad, give me two rubles I'll throw it in the pit Dad, we're family Don't be dramatic
Dad, my collarbone's been hurting all morning Somewhere in the middle of the yard There's a bird buried Dad, give me some milk I'll pour it in the pit»

He does mention it, I remember only because I was very surprised he did, so in love with the idea of him keeping quiet about it (and it felt very in character). It feels they both are like "let's not talk about that" until Maria gets annoyed when Vito mentions Joe taking care of Vito not having to go back to war.
"Mamma, would you rather me go back and get shot again?" (And I went "oooo no, now she knows" at first, thinking she didn't know.) He uses it as an argument in Joe's favor ("he saved my life with this") and ignores that without the trouble he had gotten into, Joe wouldn't have needed to save his life in the first place. Honestly I thought that he forgot himself and Maria found out like this, and I half expected Vito to add something like "get shot at again".
Well, in that moment they both know Vito is being a little shit, they both know Vito brought this on himself but they also know Maria won't tell him, not in so many words. (She does prove it when she wants Vito to promise that he won't get in trouble with Joe and instead goes to talk with Derek, sort of telling him she doesn't want him to get killed in war but also telling him that working with Joe might as well do that without any war needed).
I think he lied to Joe, in a way, like joking about how things went, talking just about girls, redirecting questions, avoiding, and not talking about the deaths and the danger (I think he only mentions it seriously after Marty's death and he sounds very detached at the moment, plus Joe is in no state to react). Never really opening up about it because - that's Vito, I suppose. I imagine he might have said something like he got only grazed by a bullet in his letters, or something like that, I too would have expected Maria to mention it first, but it may be just the shock, or her not talking about important things. (As in, I think she never talked about Antonio in any way except positive, I think she didn't tell Vito she was seriously ill, and only then I can imagine she wouldn't mention that she had possibly a breakdown when she learned of her son getting shot. Plus I think her condition worsened when Vito got himself in prison, which he didn't know about again.)
They all were trying to protect each other, not talking about stuff, trying to hide things they knew would hurt the other. Frankie about the debt of their father and of the fact her husband beat her, Maria about Antonio, about her health. Vito about his violent past in war (among other things). I can imagine he played it off like "I drove jeep most of the time, and one day I got hit by a stray bullet", not really wanting to say how many times he was near death, and how many lives he took, and just how often he was in active combat.
The whole family is so beautifully tragic that I can barely breathe whenever I think about them.
So some long time ago I said something about Vito writing home while he was over seas (I think) and I just realized he tells everyone that he drove a jeep most of the time, which idk might be true, but he’s a paratrooper and he got shot so he definitely saw more combat than he leads on.
So I guess now I’m convinced he at least lied in his letters to Maria and Frankie, if not Joe a little too. I also think it’s interesting that while Maria mentions being scared for him and praying everyday, she doesn’t mention the fact that he got shot. Joe mentions it within a few minutes, and I just would expect Maria to at least allude to it in some way.
So now I’m also convinced he never told Maria or Frankie that he had been shot.

Associating songs from my playlist with different Sapnap ships (based on lyrics) because I'm bored (some are more jokey than others) !!
George/Sapnap -> Love Me Like You Do (Ellie Goulding)
Dream/Sapnap -> Never Grow Up (Niall Horan)
Dream/Sapnap/George -> Heaven (Niall Horan)
Conter/Sapnap -> Familiar (Liam Payne, J Balvin)
Serpias/Sapnap -> Feelings (Maroon 5)
Amilcar/Sapnap -> I Wanna See Some Ass (Jack Harlow)
Karl/Sapnap -> We Don't Talk Anymore (Charlie Puth, Selena Gomez)
Sylvee/Sapnap -> Like I Would (ZAYN)
Cris/Sapnap -> Bed Chem (Sabrina Carpenter)
Conter/Sapnap/Serpias -> APT. (ROSÉ, Bruno Mars)
Farfadox/Sapnap -> Gimme More (Britney Spears)
Serpias/Sapnap/Bana -> One of Your Girls (Troye Sivan)
Sylvee/Sapnap/George -> Pretty Boy (Isabel LaRosa)
i have reasons for every single one of these cuz for some of them the lyrics only make sense to me because of things i've brainrotted about and/or i'm currently writing about LOL
i might make another one of these but with Dream ships too cuz this was fun :3

Wow, Tom really spent decades in a perpetual fawning reaction and convinced that it was the absolute best life he could have ever gotten 🙃
#tom hagen#the godfather#this scene hurts me so bad guys#sonny's death is clearly the greatest loss of tom's adult life (maybe even his entire life)#and he doesn't even allow himself to show *guilt* without even talking about pain unless he's sure vito will be ok with it#there's another quote where vito tells him that tom knows him better than anyone else#which was probably very validating to tom and is also fairly sweet of vito in the context#but it's also like...#yeah of course he knows you better than anyone else#he spent his entire life training himself to completely disregard his own needs or emotions so he could be more attuned to yours#read litterally anything about extreme people pleasing and fawning as a result of severe childhood neglect/trauma and it's just tom#of course the mafia structure and dynamics contributed to the whole things but it clearly goes beyond that#thinking about that cut scene from the godfather 2 were tom thinks about how everything was so easy and perfect when vito was alive#which is like...demonstrably false but tom just can't get himself to accept that not even in the privacy of his own brain#there's really a part of him that never matured passed the 10 years old boy who had just got saved by vito and it shows#also it might just be puzo's writing style but there's something in the repetition of 'the Don' here that really hurts me#tom is so crushed by grief and guilt at what he perceives to be his own failure#that he won't allow himself to think of him as vito and certainly not as father#just as the Don who has the power to tell 'such a man' exactly how to feel and how to show it#i made myself sad i'm going to bed :(

Hello, LGBTQ+ community. Theatre Gay is here to be... well, theatrical and of some unknown flavor of not-straight.
Housekeeping! Big thanks to @legallymean for helping me with his backstory, and an equally large thanks to @thenotorioushmk for all the kindness about this entire au, since we've been going wild every single time we get a new pic. Can't wait for when I can finally post some of the writing-- just need to find the right time...
[Previous pictures: Bandit | Hatter | Spooky Kid | Kid Squad | DJ Grooves]
While Maestro, otherwise known as "Al" by his friends and rival, is better known for his musical pro-shoots at Cooking Cat Studios, he's also the co-host of Chopping Board, a fun little series he and Cooking Cat have been making for years where they try making terrible recipes and drag their co-workers (Stationmaster and Goofy Mafia mostly) into testing it whenever they can't stand to taste it themselves. He's had a taste of first place, once, but he seems to be content with second... most of the time.
As kids, he and the rest of his team used to live in Subcon, and they were still relatively close to each other then, living in a town nearby the one that Princess Mu used to frequent. Al was frequently sent over the hills to sell his family's pasta, and since he was a bit older than the kids there, he tended to bully them a bit. He lived to regret that, with the burn scars to prove it, and though he personally isn't ashamed of his scars, he is self-conscious about how they make others feel, and only sheds his mask and glove on rare occasions.
Out of the two directors at Cooking Cat Studios, he's the more approachable, especially if you ask his cast. Through all these years and movies/musicals, they've always had his back, and he trusts them with everything he can. After all this time in second place, though, it's hard to imagine that he'd be happy with another silver award. Maybe that gold a few years back wasn't just a fluke...

every time i wonder at the ending of mafia 2, i go a little bit insane (which is a lot of insane for one human)
because i like to imagine that leo saw these two - vito and joe - and was like, "they are useful, but only separate" (because the fuck-ups aside, those two idiots did get out of the said fuck-ups, which, considering the small army they always faced, is still impressive)
and leo probably saw something he had never seen before; two friends in this life, in the Business, facing each other on opposite sides, and choosing each other. joe chose vito over everything he has ever wanted from this life.
and vito has nobody but joe at this point, and with joe gone, it's only leo for him. there would be nothing but the Family for him from now on. there is nobody else who would have his loyalty. nobody else he would cross the lines for.
imagine leo taking joe aside and telling him, in very certain terms, that he may live, but if he moves an inch from the path leo chose for him, vito will be the one paying for it
imagine joe agreeing and existing for decades without being able to tell vito he is alive, without ever being able to send him a simple message.
it's the grief and regret of vito thinking, every once in a while, perhaps more times a day, i wish you were here, accepting joe's death only because joe would have found him if he were alive, and it's simple as that, no inquiries needed
it's the frustration and pain of joe hearing news about vito from other sources, always making sure he is still there, still alive, thinking, every once in a while, perhaps more time a day, i am here, i am still here

I hate mafia 2 ending so much because essentially it ruined Henry’s character by making him a rat, which makes no sense??
Bear with me okay, let’s say that Henry was a rat. Why would he go behind Carlo’s back to do the drug deal?? What he like shows by doing it behind Carlo’s back is just that Carlo is okay with his guys dealing with drugs — not that he himself organizes these things. Like, they would set up this big trap just to catch Vito and Joe, who are two no names in Carlo’s family? That’s what they like proof by this, that some guys do drugs.
Like you understand me right? The federals have essentially no proof of Carlo doing drugs by this. If Henry went to Carlo, and Carlo told them to do it and then Henry would rat and everything, it would make way more sense than like this. This whole ending is really bad, lacks any kind of actual sense and it pisses me off to no end.

Guys spoilers for mafia 2 final cut if you ever wanna play it so yeah
Um just finished it and I do have to say that the final shootout with Carlo hit me so hard because they modded Eddie into it.
Tumblr media
And I was like, okay, got a little heart attack when I saw that ugly yellow suit but I was like “sure sounds good” but then I realized you have to kill him??
Tumblr media
So with very heavy heart i killed him right and didn’t think much of it until you kill Carlo and on your way out you see him like, literally out there.
Tumblr media
But fucking surprise, he’s literally alive and like coughing up blood or some shit, just moving yk. So you have to like leave him there anyway but it’s so sad to actually do so
Tumblr media
And what’s even worse?? You can kill him, and he like dramatically stops moving.
Tumblr media
So yeah, just don’t talk to me for a while now so I can get this experience out of my system.
