Oh, hi dear, I just discovered your prompts list and checked your fandoms list. And smiled a lot because youâve got Maeve x Spencer on it. âĽď¸
May I ask for 62 or 93, please?
I wish you happy writing and loads of inspo, snacks and energy for this hopefully fun project. âşď¸
drabble prompts!! // tysm for the request lovely!!! 62. "You're not exactly subtle." / 93. "I have things to do."
"Maeve, c'monâ"
"I have things to do," Maeve replies, but she's laughing when she says it, barely looking at the files in front of her.
"You've looked over that patient twice already," Spencer replies, coming up behind her at her desk, putting his arms around her shoulders from behind. "You don't miss things. If you're trying to avoid me..."
"Not at all!" she said, leaning back into his hold. "I just...I..."
"You're not exactly subtle," Spencer tells her, and she can hear the smile in his voice without having to turn her head. "If you want me to distract you from work, you could just say so."
His fingers easily find purchase in the curve of her sides, and she holds her breath as they begin to gently tickle, making goosebumps spread over her skin.
"I have no idea what you're talking about," she says, voice shaking.
Spencer chuckles. "Of course you don't, doctor. Now, put down the file, and laugh for me."
And laugh she does.

Itâs Spencerâs turn!!
I headcanon Reid as bisexual (though I like fics where heâs gay too).
His mum was the first person he came out to because it felt right to tell her first because of how close he is to her. She took it really well. She sometimes doesnât remember but even when she doesnât she never says a bad word about it.
He definitely had a thing for Ethan and there was a lot of tension between the two of them are they had good chemistry.
He never dated when he was younger because people were a lot older than him but heâs had crushes before.
I like to believe that he developed feelings for Morgan over time. He gets a little flustered whenever he calls him Pretty Boy but secretly likes it.
He had a strong connection with Maeve and really liked her a lot. It ended too soon but I think she was nice.
Eventually I think in an AU his feelings for Morgan would start to be reciprocated.
He definitely thought that Hotchâs brother was hot because I think he was kind of watching him in his episode like JJ and Garcia were.
Him and Emily are definitely both Queer letâs be honest. After the whole business of Spencerâs addiction and anger towards her and the others he feels at some point they manage to become good friends and are able to talk about things. Theyâre like brother and sister.
Garcia definitely took him to a Pride Parade and made sure he got to experience the whole colourful ways of dressing. She also made sure to let him take breaks when he got overwhelmed. He doesnât go all the time because loud parades arenât really his thing but he appreciated her taking him and will occasionally go to them with her because he feels more comfortable with her.
Rossi didnât really understand it at first and would occasionally say the wrong thing unintentionally but after a while and after the rest of the team kept explaining when heâd made a mistake he started to understand and become a supporter. He still doesnât understand everything but Spencer appreciates him trying to understand and whereâs he got to.
Hotch is already protective of his team so if he found out someone was being a bigot towards his son friend heâs going to be pissed.

I just imagine that like Spencer HATES being vocal but the boys so sensitive he can't help but moan like a whore
THISSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!! I WILL DIE ON THIS HILL. DIE ON IT.
HEADCANON SEGMENT!!! :3
i just know he's fighting for his life every time you give him a handjob, his eyes squeezed shut while he grips anything he can, trying so hard not to let any sounds slip out but he just can't help but let out cute little whimpers and gasps.
prince(he's too cute to be a king)of overstimulation!!! he'd take it like such a champ, letting you milk him dry until he can't even think for himself, he'd just moan and whimper and beg.
would literally almost bust when you whispered something like "let me hear you, baby" and just can't help but moan like a SLUT
every time you two go at it at least one neighbour complains bcs he's just so loud, practically screaming your name over and over.
honestly for the longest time he managed to convince you he was just quiet naturally but his facade fell the first time you overstimulated him, which was completely by accident, spencer, unbeknownst to you, had already rubbed one out before coming over but you pounced on him as soon as he was through the door so he was still sensitive and reactive, you thumb rubbing his tip making him let out an almost pornographic moan.
one of your favourite things to do is touch him in public, like in a bathroom or changing room so nobody would see you but he'd have to force himself to be quiet so you wouldn't get caught, your rule being that he wasn't allowed to cover his mouth, he had to just keep quiet.
you'd never been with someone so vocal before and you honestly don't think you could go back, you were addicted to the way he babbled almost incoherently, the pleasure going to his head and making him speak his mind, which is when he said some of the sweetest things to you, like how beautiful you are and how much he loves you and the way you make him feel.
one time derek came to spencer's apartment to drop something off while you two were preoccupied, the sound of spencer's loud moaning and whining being very audible even from outside his door, which started the constant teasing and fake moaning around the bureau.
i honestly might have to write a fic abt this>:3

Cabin Trouble
Content: slight angst, happy ending, cheating? Emotionally?
Gist: When the BAU team decides to plan a weekend trip you agree, until you realize everyone is taking their significant other. You on the other hand are the only single person on this trip, and in love with your best friend Spencer. What happens when Maeve attends and you have to pack away your feelings?
You wanted to kill yourself, how did you even get into this situation in the first place?
The team had always talked about asking for a weekend off and having a vacation all together and now it had finally happened. However you now sat in the back seat of Spencerâs car as he drove and Maeve sat shotgun. How did you end up in this position?
Well Hotch ended up making this a team plus your family trip in order to bring Hailey which in turn Rossi brought Krystall, JJ brought Will, Morgan brought Savannah, Spencer brought Maeve, your beloved Penelope brought Kevin. However unfortunately for you the only other single person on your team which is Emily had to go to Paris for a family emergency.
Leaving you distastefully the only person without a partner, and sitting in Spencerâs car as yâall drove 6 hours to a cabin everyone had rented out to spend a weekend away from civilization.
âDid you get much sleep?â Spencer asked breaking you out of your thoughts. You head snapped up to see Spencer looking at you through the rear view mirror. âI didnât sleep much since you told me youâd pick me up at 3amâ you responded yawning a little.
Spencer chuckled at you as he turned his attention back to the road, causing you to smile then feel extremely guilty. You had known and been best friends with Spencer since everyone started at the BAU, you had been friends for so long you eventually grew to love him. However you were a coward and never did anything about your feelings always pushing them down and your excuse was always ânot wanting to ruin a perfectly amazing friendshipâ however when Spencer started seeing Maeve you pushed your feelings down further. The realization the Spencer didnât see you the same way was the push you needed to lock them away in a box and encourage Spencer to go after Maeve.
Once they got together you distanced yourself from him little by little to be respectful to Maeve and him. You hated the idea of being âthe girl best friendâ but most of all you didnât want to hurt yourself further.
You were originally going to drive your car but Spencer had been noticing your distancing and was always looking for ways to have your attention and favor thats why he practically forced you to let him drive you to the cabin. Something Maeve clearly didnât like, well she really didnât like you in general.
âSpence I gotta use the bathroom, do you think we can stop at a gas station?â Maeveâs voice sounded out through the car as she placed her hand on Spencerâs shoulder.
âYeah of course.â He said as he searched up the nearest gas station on google maps.
When Spencer pulled into the gas station Maeve was the first one out as she practically ran to the bathroom, causing you to giggle and her cute run. You knew Maeve was pretty and you were happy Spencer found someone attractive to be with.
âSheâs cute.â You said halfheartedly looking at Spencer as you stood outside with him as he pumped gas. He turned his attention toward Maeveâs running figure and back to you with a look in his eyes that you didnât understand. âShe is.â He said in a weird tone causing you to raise an eyebrow, but you stayed quiet.
You had been talking with Spencer as he had finished pumping gas and you realized how much you had missed talking to him like this 24/7 and listening to every thought that came into his head because he had no filter. So much so you didnât realize Maeve came back and was holding a bag full of sweets. âIâm back and brought sweets.â She said linking her arms around Spencerâs and lifting the bag up in the air.
âOh what did you get?â Spencer asked trying to look into the bag, you giggled remembering the sweet tooth Spencer had. âYou shouldnât have brought this much candy Mr. Hollywoods gonna have a sugar crash.â You said jokingly causing Spencer to laugh and try to defend his sweet addictions.
âMr. Hollywood?â Was all Maeve said and she looked at you and Spencer confused.
âOh itâs a nickname Y/N gave me after one of our beginning cases at the BAU, I had to protect this actor Lila, and itâs a long story.â Was all Spencer said as he opened the door for you to get in the car and then walked around to open Maeveâs so she could also get in.
âOh okay.â Was all Maeve said as she opened the bag and handed you a Swedish fish candy bag. âI didnât know what candy you liked so I got you this.â Maeve said flashing you a awkward smile. âThank you so much.â You said feeling grateful she at least thought about you even when she didnât need to bring you anything.
âOh Y/N doesnât like Swedish fish, sheâll throw up if she eats them.â Spencer said turning his body to take away the candy from you and in turn hand you his which was Sour patch kidsâŚ. Your favorite.
âOh no Spence itâs alright, she didnât know and I can eat them thereâs no problem.â You hurriedly said feeling embarrassed for Maeve, as you tried to grab the candy back from him.
âItâs fine just have mine.â Spencer said gently pushing your hand back. You stayed quiet the air thickening in the car, but it seemed as if Spencer was the only one immune to it as he drove out the gas station as you had three hours left on the road.
It was 6am and the glare Maeve threw at you made you uncomfortable so you decided to sleep the remainder of the drive to avoid anymore awkward situations.
And sleep you did, you were woken up by Morgan violently shaking you. âY/N, Y/N, Y/N, Y/N,Y/N.â He repeated like a toddler trying to wake their parents up in the morning. âMorgan I swear if you shake me one more time Iâll pour acid on your head and youâll be bald forever.â You said snapping your head at him annoyed. âThe princess has awoken.â Is all he said as he laughed at your threat, Savannah shoved him away and came up to you.
âIgnore this bald man he has no manners.â Savannah said as you unbuckled yourself and hopped out the car grabbing your luggage.
âI donât know how you survive, I would be behind bars for his murder already.â You say smiling at Savannah and pulling her into a tight hug. âTrust me girl itâs hard.â She says as you both bring your luggageâs into the front of the two story cabin.
âYou know I can hear you both bad mouthing me.â Was all Derek said as he placed his hands on his waist causing you and Sav to laugh.
Hotch was the last to arrive and the one with the key, it was around 3pm and everyone was sitting on the cabin porch talking.
âFinally your here!â Penelope said as Hotch walked up the steps to the porch and carried his and Haileyâs luggage.
âI apologize we ended up having to bring Jack along because he didnât want to stay at his aunts, I hope you guys donât mind.â He said as jack approached with Hailey.
âAbsolutely not!â You were the first to say as you got up and practically ran up to Jack and picked him up in your arms as he laughed. You had known jack since hailey was pregnant and you had babysat him more times than you could count when Hotch and Hailey wanted a night out or inâŚ. If you know what I mean.
âY/N I missed you!â Jack said hugging your neck.
âI missed you more buddy!â You said closing your eyes as you swayed him around missing the way Spencerâs eyes were on you the entire interaction with Jack and the way he smiled.
âYou wonât be the only single one here now.â Hailey said coming up to you and giggling as she placed a kiss on your cheek. âDonât remind me.â You groaned and walked into the house as Hotch unlocked the door.
âThere was a miscommunication with the AirB&B person and instead of 6 rooms thereâs 5.â Hotch said looking at you.
Everyoneâs eyes looking at you too now. âHow wonderful.â You said sarcastically placing Jack back down on the floor. â I can take the couch, itâs fine.â You said turning your attention to the wooden couches with pillow tied cushions. Great you were gonna have back problems and sleepless nights this weekend.
âActually, thereâs a pullout couch in Spencerâs and Maeveâs room if youâd like to use that one.â Hotch added causing Maeveâs head to snap up to look at you a look of disgust and horror flashed across her face. You didnât blame her, all of the sudden the couch seemed way more comfortable than before. But before you could deny the offer Spencer grabbed your luggage and headed upstairs âThatâs perfect that way you wonât have to stay downstairs all by yourself and on that uncomfortable couch.â He said as he reached the top of the stairs, everyone nodded and began walking upstairs to their assigned rooms as well.
Meave flashed you a glare as she walked upstairs to find Spencer, making you cringe. You absolutely hated the idea of how these next three nights were going to go.
So this was an idea that popped into my mind while I was day dreaming (as one does) but it turned into a longer story as I began writing. So Iâm going to have to do a part two! Lemme know if yâall like it.đ

Episode 11: Effortless
spencer reid/gn!reader
coming into this from a fandom where my last fic got literally 11 notes (half of which were my own self-rbs) the reception for workplace hot was heartwarming, pls accept more pre-relationship work crush goodness as thanksđ§Ąđ§Ą
series masterlist
word count: 1.6k// warnings: absolutely hopeless pining, this man is so so clever but so so oblivious
summary: Taking care of you just comes naturally to him.
âChicken.â
âDid you know, the origin of âchickenâ in reference to someone whoâs afraid can be traced back to the use of âhen-heartâ as a synonym for âfaintheartedâ? Its first documented use was in the York Mystery Plays - which are considered to have been written prior to 1450.â
âChicken.â Morgan repeats.
âShut up.â
While his second response is decidedly less eloquent, Spencerâs pretty sure he canât fact-dump his way out of this particular conversation.
Itâs not exactly a secret - his giant, all consuming, world ending crush on you - at least, itâs not a secret from anyone except you. Heâs past being embarrassed about it when one of the others brings it up, as long as itâs not around you. Thatâs happened exactly once, and Spencerâs automatic response was to chatter about the migration patterns of a specific type of bird heâd read an article about the day before. Ceaselessly. No matter how much everyone else had begged him to stop, until the previous subject was well and truly forgotten. So when youâd asked a leading question about another kind of bird? He was more than happy to oblige. Youâve always done that, listened to him. Itâs nice.
Itâs probably what got him in this mess in the first place.
Somewhere along the way, a routine developed itself. He remembers the first day you asked him to elaborate on something heâd started on earlier in the day, trivia about the fluctuations in the popularity of a specific make of car. It had ended up being useful in the context of the case anyway but, more importantly to Spencer, the tidbit had you cornering him in the kitchen to ask him about it. And now itâs just what happens. You potter around to make your lunch, he chatters about the most recent paper heâs read like your own personal podcast.
Itâs a comfortable friendship, solidified by little things like that. Though theyâre not all that little to him, if anything theyâve only deepened his feelings for you - he doesnât let on, for your sake, he tries not to.
But his affection sneaks out in other ways.
He gravitates towards you without realising it, just to exist in your space. At the round table, on the jet, at crime scenes, in whichever office the local PD have cleared out for the team. Heâs never hovering, but heâs not not hovering. Just working parallel to you. Itâs why he likes the bullpen, for all its hustle and bustle, because he can look at you out of the corner of his eye whenever he wants to. He can spin his chair to face you, stretch his legs out across the aisle, and let a wave of sheer steadiness wash over him. Sometimes itâs you, reaching over to hand him something or abandoning your post completely to perch on the corner of his desk. Spencer thinks thatâs what it might be, the peace you seem to exude that quiets his busy mind - the kindness you extend to victims and their families that flows through your very veins. It follows you like an aura, thereâs very little he wonât do to be bathed in it whenever he can. Itâs all led to a unique dynamic that means youâre paired up together more often than not.
You move around each other unconsciously now, leaning over maps and files and evidence. Swapping pens and ducking under one anotherâs arms as you both scribble away at the board. Itâs almost choreographed, natural. Everything is with you, and thatâs what gets him. Thereâs a part of Spencer Reidâs brain that is dedicated to considering his actions in relation to the people around him, running in the background like a computer programme, but he doesnât have to run it around you. He doesnât think, for once. He just does.
Itâs effortless, second nature, to make space for you. The same as it is to leave a seat open for you, even if itâs the only one. To nudge you gently when youâre too far in your own head to realise youâre picking at your skin. Youâve started nudging him back in recent weeks when he does the same, chewing on the inside of his lips and paying absolutely no mind to the damage heâs doing. You notice, you care enough to stop him. Just like youâll leave an empty space on the nearest desk for him to hop up on. Heâs not sure if you realise youâre even doing it. Clearing perfect Spencer-sized spots at every precinct and office youâre set up in, because you know he prefers it to the chairs. Which makes his own actions feel a little less overt and, in turn, lets him breathe a sigh of relief. Maybe this is just what good friends do for each other. He can call you that, at least, if his own fears wonât afford him the chance to call you anything else.
Though, heâs not sure he could stop himself from taking care of you in his own way if he tried. Mostly because heâs not trying in the first place.
He didnât even realise what he was doing, the first time he turned to you to double check your protective vest was secure. Narrow fingers tugging on straps, barely even processing the inviting warmth of you underneath them, heâd been too focused on making sure you were as protected as you could be. And then heâd walked into the Unsubâs home ahead of you anyway.
Spencer never walks ahead of you, anywhere. Heâs always ushering you in first, something drilled into him by some unknown force, his basest of instincts - youâre ahead of him into the office, into precincts, into crime scenes, even into the elevator. But in a hostile situation? Heâs first through the door every time.
So much so that itâs routine now, wherever the case, whoever is around. He grasps the shoulders of the thick vest and wiggles it, he rips the velcro straps off at your waist only to secure them again. A little tighter, and heâs quietly grateful that you let him. The heat of you at his back is reassuring when scenes arenât secure. To know that, based on his experience anyway, the Unsub will more than likely jump out ahead of him - and heâll be the one between you and the bullet. Which is maybe a little dramatic, but itâs the truth.
âReady, boys?â
Doctor Spencer Reid has never claimed to believe in any god, but he makes sure to thank something for the interruption. Anything to get himself and his giant crush out from under Derek Morganâs microscope.
Itâs Emily who speaks, Emily who tosses protective vests at him and Derek, but Spencerâs eyes are focused on you entering the office behind her. Youâre concentrating on your own vest, securing straps thatâll only be repositioned in a minute or two. But you still do it yourself each time, as if youâre not expecting him to come over and double check your work. Thereâs no way you havenât noticed by now. That heâll do it every time, that he doesnât do it for anybody else, that he spends twice as long checking on your vest than he does securing his own. FBI emblem emblazoned on his chest, Spencer crosses the room dutifully to conduct his little ritual.
Velcro isnât quiet. It pierces through the background noise when he undoes the buckle at your side and tears it free, but his eyes donât move from the task at hand. Yours are heavy on his face, the way they always are when he gets this close. He pretends not to notice.
âThank you.â You whisper softly. So softly that between the chatter and gun checking behind him, only the two of you can hear.
Itâs only now, now heâs certain your vest is snug as possible, that he allows his careful gaze flicker to meet yours. He struggles not to take a step back with the force of it.
âOf course.â He replies, reluctantly pulling his cold fingers out from the warmth beneath the shoulders of your vest. His smile, small, self-conscious, is returned tenfold and beaming. The same way it always is. He doesnât know how you do it - see the things you see every day and still manage a grin wider than the RĂo de la Plata. Maybe he canât explain everything.
He catches a movement over your shoulder, itâs Morgan. Arms folded at the elbow, fists tucked close to his chest, as he makes the exaggerated movements of a chicken. Head bobbing and all. The teasing support, because thatâs all it is, is nice to have - but thereâs not one member of the team who understands exactly why heâs so afraid to say anything to you. In an ideal world, he wouldnât be. Heâd be able to pull you aside and tell you exactly how many days itâs been since heâd met you, started crushing on you, fallen absolutely hopelessly in love. It kind of all started at once, if heâs being completely honest. And in that ideal world, you would smile that billion kilowatt smile and tell him you love him too, and even the paperwork from the bureau wouldnât matter. This isnât an ideal world, however. He knows that better than most.
Spencerâs been rejected before, more than even he would care to admit, by friends and lovers and parents and colleagues and strangers. But heâs not sure he could take it from you, not while you hold his heart so tenderly in your hands. Even unaware of the responsibility, youâre gentle with him.
Heâll keep you close, regardless, as much as he can without arousing your suspicion. Heâll keep making space for you and double checking your vest until every ugly confession claws its way out of him.
Thatâs enough, for now.

Another Life - Spencer Reid
Pairing - Spencer Reid x Fem Reader (Non Specified but imagined fem)
Warnings - not spell checked, character death??, cheating, all cm trigger warnings, Maeve, mentions of eating disorders addiction and suicidal thoughts.
Summary - You weâre ready to marry him, he was ready to leave.
âââââââââââââââââââââââ
You fell in love four years ago. Budding new SSA Y/L/N and the marvellous Doctor Reid, the BAUs power couple, attached at the hip - perfect.
And perfect it was, you and spencer had been through everything together. Case after case, his addiction, your own struggles with disordered eating, and everything inbetween, so when he started being distant, and getting migraines, you were sure you could help. You found him the best doctors, geneticists, anything and anyone.
You never thought heâd fall for Maeve Donovan, his geneticist, i mean how could you, youâd seen the ring. He was going to propose, or so you thought, a beautiful amethyst ring hidden in the blazer pocket of his work suit. Not your favourite crystal but youâre sure he had a reason for picking it, he always did.
So you began planning.
And you planned and planned until it suddenly didnât feel like he was going to propose anymore.
âSpence?â You call out from the kitchen where youâre making dinner.
âYeah love?â He walks in.
âI was just thinking, do you ever think about marrying me?â
âWell yeah in the future when weâve settled a bit more, iâm happy how we are right nowâ
âOhâ You sigh, âWhat about that ring in your blazer pocket? Whatâs that for then?â
Silence. You know what that means.
âIs she pretty?â He looks down at his shoes.
Your turn off the stove and wipe your hands on your trousers.
âItâs Maeve isnât it? The doctor?â You giggle sadly âYou always liked them smartâ
âY/nâŚâ
âDoes she make you happy?â
âNot like you doâ
You scoff. He looks at you confused.
You pick at your nails, crying slightly. âYou were the one for me Spence, and I just want you to be happy, I thought that was with me but i guess not anymoreâ You shrug before grabbing your bag.
âWhat are you doing?â He tryâs to grab your hands.
âIm going to stay with Garcia tonightâ You reach the door, âMaybe you can invite Maeve for dinner, i made your favourite. Iâll be back tomorrow to gather my thingsâ
âPlease donât do this..â
âGoodbye Spencer Reidâ
âââââââââââââââââââââââ
The past month had been hell for you, you didnât tell anyone the real reason you and Spencer split up, not wanting to ruin his friendships with the rest of the team, but you hadnât been doing well. Youâd lost a lot of weight, stopped going out with the team, and started throwing yourself into your work.
It was plain as day that you were heartbroken.
So when Spencer came in, seeking help for Maeve, you were advised to steer clear of the case. But you were determined to show everyone you were fine.
You worked the hardest on the case and found Diane first, and joined spencer on retrieving Maeve.
You walk in unarmed, as requested by Diane, and see Maeve being held by gunpoint.
âDiane, right?â You try and sound as calm as possible, âIâm Y/nâ
âStay back or I shoot her!â
âShe rejected you didnât she? Your paper? I read it and it was good, just needed a little more evidenceâ
âWhat evidence?â
âSomeone who wasnât your parents, who wanted to dieâ
You breath in
âI can help Diane, you need someone like me, you can kill meâ
âYouâre trying to trick me!â She exclaims.
âiâm not, Maeve doesnât want to die, do you Maeveâ
She begins to cry begging for her life.
âAnd you do?â
âIâve got nothing left to live forâ
You look to Spencer sadly.
âThink about it Diane, this gives you the evidence you needâ You smile.
âYouâre trying to trick me!â
âFine, I guess Dr Donovan was rightâ I fake sigh and get a little closer, âYou arenât worth the time or effortâ
In an instant, Maeve is thrown to the floor and Diane grabs and shoots you both in the stomach.
You fall to the ground.
Spencer instantly runs to you, cradling you in his arms, your breaths shallow and weak.
âIs Maeve okay?â
Astounded at your care he says âPlease donât worry about her, save your strength, the medics are on their wayâ
âI donât think i have the time Spenceâ
âPlease babyâ He whispers.
âAre you happy Spence?â
âSheâs not youâŚâ
He holds you tight and you reach up to cradle his cheek with your hand, âPlease let yourself be happyâ A metallic taste covering the inside of your mouth.
As heâs holding you he can feel how much smaller youâve become. âYouâve not been taking care of yourselfâ He begins to cry
âItâs not important now,â I whisper, âSpence?â
âYeah?â
âDo you think iâm another life we made it
He thinks for a moment.
âIâm every universe i will be forever yours, I just wish it couldâve been in this one tooâ Beginning to sob
âAnd i will always be yours too, you were it for me Spencer Reidâ
His tears fall down quicker than you can wipe them away.
âAt least weâll have all those other lives, we could have that wedding I planned,â I giggle sadly, âYou wouldâve loved itâ
âI shouldâve asked you, I wanted it to be youâ
âI wanted it to be me tooâ
Your eyes begin to close, in the distant shouts for medics get louder, the blaring of sirens closer.
âI love youâ he whispers, âPlease donât leave me, weâre not done yetâ
âââââââââââââââââââââââ

Pairing: Spencer Reid x Female BAU Reader
Requested: yes - role reversal of the player!Spencer fic I posted here!
W/C: 5.7k
Summary: They say if you want to get over one man, you have to get under another. Spencer isn't so sure why he dislikes the idea of you doing that quite so much.
Warnings: Mentions of Maeve, spoilers for S8, mentions of minor character deaths, smut, unprotected sex, creampie, angst.
A/N: I'm not going to apologise for this one... Have fun.
Find the rest of my masterlist here.
If you were a genius, youâd know that it took you three hours, twenty-three minutes, and six seconds to fall in love with Spencer Reid. If you were a genius, youâd also know that it took him five years, seven months, twenty-seven days, and two hours to the second for him to break your heart. The thing you were learning about geniuses though, is that they were the most oblivious people on the planet.Â
Her name was Maeve, he had told all of you. And he needed your help to save her because he was in love with her. And of course, you went along with it, you tried your best even while your heart was cracked in two because at this point, you couldnât stand the desperation on his face. The day he told you about her, only days before he died, you cried in the arms of Penelope Garcia for hours, letting her console you as you felt your world get flipped upside down.Â
âI donât know why Iâm feeling like this, god, Penelope. Five years, and I knew, I knew that if he liked me like that something would have happened already, but I justâŚâ She rubbed your back as you laid your head on her shoulder, letting your tears fall freely as the sobs wracked through your body.Â
âIâve been in love with him for five years and he never even noticed, and⌠Penelope he hasnât seen this girl before and heâs desperate for her. What about me is so unlovable?â Your voice cracked as you broke down again, burying your head in your friend's arms as you let all the emotions hit you at once.Â
âY/N you listen to me right now. You are not unlovable, you have never been unlovable. If Spencer cannot see what is right in front of him, then he is an idiot. You are the most amazing thing that has happened to him, youâre a great friend, youâre smart, youâre beautiful-âÂ
âIâm not her. Penelope, I⌠I want to be her-â She held you as you emptied yourself for hours, crying until you were so physically exhausted that you just couldnât anymore. You couldnât say that you stopped crying per se, just that your body ran out of emotions to sustain you.Â
âOkay, Y/N, hereâs what youâre going to do now,â Penelope said. Sheâd heard you out for long enough, but she wasnât going to let you be miserable for long.Â
âYouâre going to pick yourself up, take care of yourself. Get a haircut, dye your hair, whatever you need to do to get some change. And then youâre going to do your goddamn best to forget him, because if heâs too stupid to realize how special and amazing you are then he really doesnât deserve you.â You sniffled a bit and nodded at her words.Â
âAnd then, youâre going to get back out there. Y/N, when was the last time you went on a date?âÂ
âI donât know itâs been⌠The last one I can remember was before I entered the BAU. Iâve just been so busy-âÂ
âBullshit. Youâre going to put yourself back out there and find a man, or multiple men, who actually value you and want you. A wise scholar once said the best way to get over a man is to get under another.âÂ
âXâ
A year later and youâd probably taken Penelopeâs words to heart a little bit too much. Maeve had died at the hands of her stalker not even a day later, and you felt terrible for Spencer, but heâd pushed you away, heâd pushed everyone away, so youâd decided she was right.Â
Your first date had been a few weeks later, and youâd have liked the fact that youâd taken him back to your place and then immediately kicked him out and never seen him again after that to stay a secret. But the BAU copycat didnât let any of your business stay within the team for long. He had pictures of you with the first guy, the guy from a week later, and the guy after him as well. By the time youâd figured out who the copycat murderer whoâd sent you all Zugzwang-themed threats was, heâd got pictures of you locking lips with five separate one-night stands.
The team had said nothing about it, of course, except Hotchâs private aside asking if any of the men in the pictures needed informing about the situation. Youâd had to admit to them that youâd not seen any of them since, and, with no reaction from Spencer, youâd felt almost vindicated in taking this step.Â
If he didnât care then, in those tense months where you were all leaning on each other for support, reeling from the death of Erin Strauss and the attacks on the team, closer than youâd really ever been before, then he wouldnât ever care.Â
The thought was freeing. So youâd kept up with your constant stream of men, not letting them get close enough to hurt you in the way that Spencer had, using them and discarding them like broken toys, ignoring that maybe it was you that was the broken one.Â
It took a year for him to notice it. A year of you coming in with suspicious bruises on your neck that you laughed off, a year of your newfound confidence, a year of your conscious distance for him to notice that he missed you. It was slow at first. In those first few months, he just accepted that of course, youâd been seeing people. Heâd assumed from the photographs everyone had seen that youâd been dating the entire time heâd known you, the feeling unsettling him a little, but he thought that was only because heâd never noticed.Â
Now it was all he could notice. The way youâd walk in sometimes smelling unfamiliar, having showered at a hookup's place before taking off, the way you were suddenly open to the flirting by the local PDs on your cases. The way a sadness seeped into his chest every time he saw you with someone else. Envy wasnât a feeling he was familiar with, so it took him stupidly long to name the emotion.Â
You were back at OâKeefeâs after a local case successfully closed, and if you were drinking a lot, no one mentioned it. No one except Spencer, whoâd made it his objective to keep you safe and by his side the entire night, for reasons he couldnât even name. It was stifling, having him constantly hovering over you.Â
âSpencer, lighten up a bit, have a drink.â You smiled up at him, trying to get him to loosen up so you could escape the way his sudden care was making you feel. The bartender was eyeing you up from his place behind the bar, and while you were usually careful not to get involved with men whom youâd likely run across again, you were throwing caution to the wind that day.Â
âIâll have a drink if you drink some water and slow down a bit, Y/N.â He handed you the glass heâd retrieved earlier and you sipped it slowly, squirming under the care in his gaze. He ordered a drink, and you eyed up the bartender as he did so, pushing Spencerâs hand off your hip as he approached, offering him a smile. He looked between you and the unfamiliar man, and felt a cold flash in his veins, waiting for his drink and then pulling you away back to the table with the rest of your friends, tangling your hand with his.Â
You pulled out of his grip but followed him dutifully. He guided you into your seat quickly, brushing your hair out of your eyes before falling back into conversation with the rest of the team. You hated the way he could still make your heart stutter, still have you feeling hot all over from a single touch, and you felt trapped in the booth, screaming for a way out.Â
Your chance came an hour later, when he excused himself to the bathroom, and you excused yourself as well, running back up to the bar. When he came back, you were gone.
âWhere is Y/N?â He asked with a scowl, cursing himself for letting his eyes off you for even a second when youâd drank so much that night, having come back to suggest you turn in for the night, getting ready to offer you a ride home.Â
âY/N? By now, sheâs either in the back room with the bartender or sheâs convinced him to get off early and head back to hers,â Morgan chuckled, taking a swig of his drink. âTook her only two minutes of conversation to have him inviting her out the back entrance, sheâs been gone for like five minutes now.Â
The constricted feeling settled in his chest again, as his scowl deepened. Not knowing why he was feeling so goddamn destroyed by that statement, he let his head hang and left the bar himself, taking himself outside to get in his car and go home. Unbeknownst to him, you watched him leave from the alley behind the bar, the bartender placing open-mouthed kisses on your exposed neck as you buried your worryingly consistent feelings in the scent of bourbon and lust.Â
The next week is rough for both of you. You laugh and play along with Morganâs jokes about your game, keeping an eye out for him the entire time and ending all the conversations as you feel him enter the room or step closer. It doesnât stop him from hearing it all, though, all the details about your sex life tormenting him, as he boils with anger at how wreckless youâre being with your constant stream of guys.Â
âMama, you were on fire last week. Took you only two minutes to disappear with that guy, youâre going to have to let me in on your secrets,â Morgan laughed from his perch on your desk.Â
âSorry, a magician never reveals her secrets, and what I do is definitely magic.â Your tone was suggestive and set the man off in a booming laugh, but with your back to the door, you hadnât heard Spencerâs entrance.Â
âThe secret is that men are more accepting of casual hook-ups with strangers than women,â he snapped at you both, beginning to ramble as you both looked up at him in shock.Â
âOkay, kid, I was just joking-â
âWhen surveyed over 75% of men said they would be willing to have sex with a complete stranger, vs. 0% of women, and while thatâs just one study, there are multiple others that I could quote that have similar results.âÂ
âSpencer,â you chastised him, but he didnât stop.
âWhat? Did you want to know when posing the question of an affair to people in a relationship that 18% of men reacted positively to having casual sex with a stranger, and surprisingly 4% of women also reacted in the affirmative? Did you ask that guy if he had a girlfriend before you fell into his bed, Y/N?âÂ
âOkay, thatâs enough, Spencer, take a walk. I donât know whatâs up with you today, but that was out of line. Hotch is looking for you in his office.â The words came from Morgan, but he kept his eyes locked with yours as he was scolded, memorizing the look of pain in your eyes as he finally backed away.Â
He didnât know why he did it. He knew it would hurt you, and yet he continued anyway, even after youâd begged him to stop. He was hurt, and he didnât know why, and he didnât think he had any reason to be hurt, and somehow it was all because youâd been in the back of his mind constantly for as long as he could remember.Â
âXâÂ
âOkay, girlâs night, my place, tomorrow night. There are no cases, and I managed to get Hotch to agree to let us put our phones on silent for the night, so itâs just me, you, JJ, and Blake, a bottle of wine and some good old-fashioned girl talk, what do you say?â Penelope asked you gleefully in the break room one day as you both prepared your drinks for a busy day of paperwork ahead.Â
âIâm sorry, Pen, I have plans already.â You grinned up at her as she pouted, promising to make it up to her another time. You didnât offer an explanation though, just excusing yourself back to your desk and letting her know that youâd make it up to her another time.Â
Reid took your place as soon as you vacated it. Almost obsessively, heâd been following you around like a lost puppy since heâd exploded on you the other day.Â
âI know you said girlsâ night but⌠Could... Could I come? I think I need some uh, girl talk?â He asked Penelope, an awkward, embarrassed look on his face as he smiled tensely. If anyone knew what was wrong with him, recently, it would be them.Â
Last year, heâd have said it was you, but the distance heâd felt recently, combined with the fact that he was almost 90% sure you were the root of his problems had him desperate for other opinions.Â
âOh. Are you sure, Spencer, weâll be talking about all kinds of gross women stuff?âÂ
âI was raised by a single mother. Iâm sure nothing you say could gross me out. Please?â She nodded her approval telling him what time to get there and to bring his beverage of choice, knowing he didnât really drink wine all that much if he could help it.Â
He turned up twenty minutes late, after spending a great deal of time pacing outside of Penelopeâs apartment building wondering if he had any right to unburden himself on them like this. Pacing he wondered whether youâd actually showed up despite your mysterious plans and whether this had been all for naught anyway.Â
When he eventually knocked on the door, Penelope opened it and greeted him with a warm hug. âWe were wondering when you were going to knock on the door, one more minute and we were going to come out to get you.âÂ
JJ stood up to hug him, wine glass in her hand, and Blake offered him a wave from her perch on the couch. He took off his scarf and coat and accepted the glass of water Penelope offered him, settling into a chair opposite the three women.Â
âPenelope said you wanted advice about something?â Blake was the first to enquire, the three of them getting straight into it, not letting him chicken out of it.Â
âYeah, I think so. Lately, Iâve been having these, I donât know, weird feelingsâŚâÂ
âOh god, I thought I was a few years out from having the talk with someone,â JJ joked, but Penelope shushed her quickly after a quick snicker, letting him continue.Â
âIâve been⌠Iâm not sure if youâve noticed, but Iâve been acting really weird around Y/N, and I canât figure out why.â He finally pushed the words out, feeling a weight off his chest at the confession.Â
âYou canât?â The room was silent for a minute as they looked at each other, and he looked at them looking at each other, wondering what it was exactly that heâd missed.Â
âYeah? I donât know, every time I see her I just want to, I donât know, have her attention on me, even if I have to say something a little mean to get it. And in the bar that time, I was so, I donât know hurt, I guess, when she disappeared without saying goodbye.âÂ
They just listened to him go on, not stopping to interrupt him, so he continued.Â
âAnd thereâs been this weird distance between us lately, and I guess itâs been there for a while, but I miss her, but sheâs still there. I can still talk to her, and I can still spend time with her but I miss her all the time.â
âSpencer,â Blake said with a soft voice. âSince when have you been feeling like this?âÂ
âI donât know, I guess it started after everything happened with Strauss and the copycat in New York. But sheâs always been⌠I donât know, closer than most people? But every time I think weâre getting back to normal recently, she pulls away again and thereâs this⌠void where she should be.â
JJ put her drink down and leaned a little closer to him, putting a hand on his shoulder.Â
âSpencer, I think you might be in love with her.â He considered the words for a moment, before getting ready to dismiss them.Â
âNo, love is a good emotion, this doesnât feel good, it feels⌠ugly.â Blake stared at him sympathetically, calmly talking him around.Â
âSpencer, think about it. Youâre protective over her, you donât like seeing her with other people, this all started right around the time the copycat sent those pictures of her with other people. It is love, and itâs jealousy, too.âÂ
The words hit him like a tonne of bricks as he suddenly felt the full force of his words. He was in love with you.Â
âOh god, what do I do?â He held his head in his hands, and Penelope scoffed a little from her seat, the rest of them turning to look at him. Â
âIâm sorry, youâre going to have to figure this one out on your own genius.â She said with a slightly sharp tone, and even the girls sent her questioning stares as she continued.Â
âYou donât just get to decide that you want her after all this time, not after how youâve been treating her these last few months.â She turns her head away a little bit and sips her drink, her tough-love approach leaving him slightly defeated. Â
âPenelope, do you know something?â Blake asks firmly, trying to coax some answers out of her.Â
âIf I did, Iâd be under a strict oath not to tell anyone. And I wouldnât want to considering how much pain she was in when she made me swear never to tell anyone.â It was clear from the tone of her voice that she really wanted to say something though, the words desperate to spill out.Â
âPenelope, your loyalty is commendable, but donât you think what you have to say could help both of them?â JJ quietly coaxed out of her, and she finally gave in.Â
âOkay, but if you hurt her, Spencer Reid, I will never forgive you ever again.â He nodded quickly, hanging onto her every word.Â
âThink about what else happened a year ago.â She encouraged him, and for a moment, he was coming up blank. Â
âA year ago? We were in the middle of the copycat case. Strauss had just been killed. We were close to being pulled off the case-âÂ
âYou got a girlfriend, Spencer. You came in one day out of the blue and just announced that you were in love with someone you hadnât met, and you didnât realize that you were torturing her.â Penelope tried really hard not to snap at him, but his ignorance of your feelings was frustrating, to say the least. Â
âWhat Penelope is trying to say, Spencer, is that we think Y/N was in love with you, too,â JJ added, softening the blow. âAnd finding out you didnât feel the same way so suddenly was, well it was a shock to all of us really.â
âWhat Penelope is trying to say is that she spent six hours with me crying into this couch, and then picked herself up and helped you try to save the woman you had chosen over her. So yeah, sheâs been a bit distant, but can you really blame her?âÂ
âShe⌠She was in love with me?â His heart stopped for a second, dropping to the pit of his stomach as he thought back to those days, how youâd acted around him, the smiles that hadnât reached your eyes, the reassurances that heâd brushed off, so desperate to help Maeve.Â
âHonestly, until you told us about Maeve, I thought you two had something going on,â Blake added.Â
âWe used to have an office bet when Emily was around about which of the two of you would confess first,â JJ admitted shyly.Â
âOh, god.â He let his head hang a little in shame. âDo you⌠do you think she still feels the same?âÂ
They shared another glance at each other again, and he panicked trying desperately to decode whatever it was that had just passed between them.Â
âLook, we shouldnât profile each other but⌠Itâs not a coincidence that all of her hookups tend to happen after you pay her some attention.â Blake observed, letting Reid fill in the blanks of her statement.
âThat might be my fault actually, I told her the best way to get over you is to get under someone else.âÂ
âI donât want her under someone else,â he stated then, cutting himself off before he could say anything else too damning. Â
âSheâs not here tonight, why isnât she here?â He panicked looking frantically around the room for answers, but none of them knew really. Â
âShe said she had plans, but she didnât tell me what they are.âÂ
âDo you think sheâs⌠do you think sheâs withâŚâ He couldnât finish the thought, instead bolting upright and gathering his things.Â
âI need to go.â He let out, as the women cheered behind him, finally happy that he was taking action. Penelope shouted your address at him as he left as if he didnât already have it memorized, running out in the rain, his feet carrying him to your apartment. Â
He saw the light on when he approached, thankful that you were still there, and bounded up the stairs to your floor, not giving himself time to second guess this before he pounded on your door. Â
You pulled the door open, a confused look on your face as you greeted him, his chest heaving, water dripping down his face. He looked like a mess.Â
âAre you alone?â He gasped out, having to pause between each word to catch his breath. Â
âSpencer, what are you doing-â The breath left your body as he leaned into you, catching you around the hips and walking you back into your apartment, your back hitting the wall behind you as he rested his forehead against your own, chest still desperately drawing in oxygen.Â
âPlease, please tell me right now if thereâs someone here with you. If there is, Iâll leave, if there isnâtâŚâ His gaze fell to your lips and your entire body lit up, the haze of your confusion finally lifting as you took in each of his words. His lips moved forward, seconds from connecting with your own when his question was finally answered. Â
âY/N? Who is it?â The voice was male, and it was coming from your living room, but it was all Spencer needed to know as he detangled himself from you, pushing his wet hair out of his face and putting some distance between you two, muttering apologies as he backed out of the door again.Â
âIâm sorry, I shouldnât⌠Iâm sorry,â he said, quickly turning away from you and leaving your apartment quickly.Â
âSpencer, wait-â You tried to yell after him, but it was too late. He had disappeared into the night, as quickly as he came.Â
You returned to the living room, cursing yourself for not answering quickly enough as you crawled back into the seat youâd just left.Â
âWhat was all that?â Your brother asked from his perch, shoveling popcorn into his mouth in a way that had you somehow even more pissed at him for the simple fact of his existence. Â
âThat was Spencer. He⌠God, I think he thinks Iâm in here with a guy.âÂ
âXâÂ
The next few days at work were tense, as you desperately tried everything to catch his eye. But you werenât sure why you were putting in so much effort. He was the one who had burst into your apartment and practically begged you for your attention, why were you now the one chasing him?
Needless to say, you took your frustrations straight to Penelope Monday morning.Â
âAnd then he left without letting me explain that it was my brother, and he hasnât talked to me once this morning, he keeps running away from me and I donât even know what the fuck it was he was trying to gain from all that and- ughh he is so dense.â
Penelope had sensed the oncoming disaster the moment sheâd seen your social media post about your brotherâs visit Saturday morning, and you only confirmed all her fears as you unloaded onto her. She silently cursed Spencer as well, and once sheâd given you some reassurance and reminded you that you had some case files on your desk that were urgent and distracting enough to calm you down, she practically lept from her seat to hunt Reid down. Â
âSpencer Reid, you get your ass in my office right this second,â she whisper screamed at him in the breakroom, his sunken eyes showing that his jump to conclusions had left him in a poor emotional state. He jolted at her words, as she watched to see if you noticed the two of them before practically frog-marching him off down the hall. Â
âWhat the hell happened? We sent you off to confess your feelings, and you what? Pin her to the wall and breathe down her neck before running off with your tail between your legs?âÂ
He looked down guiltily before replying. âShe had a guy there, Penelope, I didnât want to⌠I didnât want to get rejected like that.âÂ
âShe did not have a guy there, Spencer, she had her brother there.â She pulled up your post on her phone and thrust it in his face as she watched his eyes go wide at his own stupidity, clutching the phone as he read your words. Â
âAnd if you werenât a coward, youâd have stayed and told her even if she did actually have someone over.âÂ
Heâd since tuned out her words though, the crushing weight of his almost-confession that had been stuck to him since the weekend dissipating slowly.Â
âThis is her brother?â He looked up at you again, desperate to confirm the words sheâd already said.Â
âYes. Youâd know that if you werenât such a technophobic freak. I love you but this is the 21st Century and youâre an idiot.âÂ
âYeah, I am.â He handed her the phone back and slunk out of the office, and back to his desk. He had a chance to try again, and he wasnât going to fuck it up this time.Â
âXâÂ
You didnât know how you knew that night, but when you heard the knock at your door, you knew it was him.Â
You hesitated before reaching for the door handle, pulling it open, and confirming your suspicions.Â
âHi.â You said, and he returned the greeting with a mumble of his own before the two of you fell into silence again. He opened his mouth as if he wanted to say something else, but couldnât, instead letting his gaze fall to your lips. You heard the hidden question in his look and opened the door a little wider.Â
It took only a moment for him to come crashing into you, hands holding your face as his lips met yours in a passionate embrace, drinking you in as again walked you back into your apartment, not even breaking away as he closed the door behind you. Â
You wrapped your arms up and around his neck, as you let his hands fall to your hips, your chest, your ass, exploring every part of your body he could reach as you stood caught up in each other. In your desperation for each other, you hit walls, and bumped into tables, finally stopping at your kitchen island as he lifted you up, wrapping your legs around his waist as he started pressing kisses down the hollow of your neck.Â
âIâm sorry,â he muttered between kisses. âIâm sorry. I didnât know it was your brother and Iâm sorry I didnât come sooner, and Iâm sorry Iâve been so weird recently.â You pulled his face back up to your own claiming his lips in yours once again, swallowing each of his other apologies.Â
He pulled away again, looking at you tenderly as he lifted you into his arms and gently carried you into your room, laying you down on your bed.Â
âI love you,â he whispered, and the words broke you. Youâd spent five years practically begging him to say them, and another year since trying to bury even the very idea of him feeling the same way deep inside you. Tears fell from your eyes and he kissed each one of them away, muttering confessions into your skin.Â
âI love you, please donât cry.âÂ
âI love you, youâre so beautiful.âÂ
âI love you and Iâm so so sorry.â You pushed him away again slightly, regaining enough of your composure to finally talk again.Â
âI need to know that youâre serious, Spencer. I canât⌠I canât do this if youâre not totally sure, because it will destroy me.â Your voice broke as the words stumbled over the knot in your throat, your hands balled into his shirt, legs still wrapped around him.Â
âIâm serious. I donât want to hurt you ever again.â He pressed his lips back into yours again, and you let the kiss deepen, lips slanting over each other in desperation as the need to be joined overtook your body.Â
He lifted your skirt, trailing a hand between the two of you as he checked your arousal. You could feel his cock pressing into your thigh, desperate to be freed from itâs restraints. He began kissing his way down your naval, but you pulled him back up. Â
âNo, I need you now. There will be time for that later, but if you donât do this now I think Iâll drive myself mad with wanting.â His lips reconnected with yours again as you began divesting yourselves of clothing, and within another two minutes, he was pressing into you, muttering more adoring serenades into your skin as he began catching the tears escaping your eyes again.Â
âYes, Spencer, more please,â you moaned underneath him, legs tight around him as he began thrusting into you with a ferocity you hadnât felt from him before. It was tender, but you were both desperate, after months of separation, to come back into one another.Â
Your lips and teeth clashed together as you let the room echo with your moans, his moans, and the sound of your skin slapping against each other. His forehead came to rest against your own as he grew closer to his release, lips disconnecting as you just stared into each other's eyes in that moment, seeing each other truly for the very first time.Â
âY/N, Iâm gonna⌠Iâm gonna cum.â He pressed down into you harder, looking down to the place where you were joined and letting out a whispered curse as he watched you take every inch of him. His hips stuttered then, and you felt your own climax reach you as you felt him release into you, his lips softly tracing your own as you breathed each other in again.Â
He pulled out and immediately went to work making sure you were comfortable, propping you up on the bed, making sure the pillows behind you were plump and soft, and running off to find something to clean yourself up with. You watched him silently, again brushing some of the tears from your eyes.Â
âHow do you feel?â He said shyly as he returned, having pulled his pants back on at least as he bought you a glass of water. You offered him a small smile and a thank you as you replied.Â
âI think⌠I think we need to talk, Spencer.â You said, not meeting his eyes as he looked down at you attentively.Â
âWhy did you come tonight, Spencer?â You asked, voice so quiet you resisted the urge to repeat the question, knowing that he heard you perfectly clearly,Â
âI needed to tell you how I feel. Itâs been staring me in the face for six years, and I somehow didnât know, but once I did I just⌠I needed you to know.â You nodded at his words, standing still in front of you on the bed as you swung your legs off and asked him to pass you your nightdress back. You pulled it on over your head as you asked him your next question.Â
âWhy did you run away the other day?âÂ
âI didnât know it was your brother, Y/N, I shouldâve-â
âIt shouldnât have mattered who it was. If you love me, you should fight for me, right? The way you fought for Maeve.â Your tears start falling again as you open the wound that brought you this far.Â
âY/N, that was⌠That was different-â You can hear the panic in his voice as he tries to come up with the words to explain himself.Â
âSpencer, if.. If itâs different then I think you should leave. If you donât love me the same way you loved her, then thereâs no point starting something.âÂ
âY/N, please.âÂ
âNo, Spencer. I have spent six years of my life filled with nothing but love for you. I wake up and think about you, I go to bed and youâre still there in the back of my mind. My every action is informed by your presence and I am so, so tired. So if you do not feel the same way, you need to turn around and leave this apartment.âÂ
The silence between you is thick, as you stare up at him through your tears, face stern as you push him away.Â
He gathers his things. Moves towards the door and doesnât say anything, and just as youâre about to break down, to let the sob burst from your chest in an agonized wail, you hear your front door close behind him, and youâre left alone in the empty apartment, stuck in the purgatory of your love for him, unable to move an inch.Â
