Duel of the American Girl Dolls Update!
Sadly our polls are starting to wind down as we come towards the end. Because of this, there won't be as many polls each day and the polls will only be open for 3 days. Otherwise we'd have days with no polls at all. Thanks for everyone who has stuck with me thus far and happy voting!

I dont know what to do with the facts that
1. France has completely taken the maerican suburb + giant car centered shopping centers concept and fucking ruuuun with it (bad)
2. They have local and ethically sourced products in their equivalent of walmart, their shopping complexes act as local resources - laundry services, free bathrooms, discount bike rentals (good)
Like, how did you take urban sprawl and not totally destroy the social political economic and every other type of fabric that exists?? Its first sad cuz like aaaaaaaa its hyper U, a french walmart. Then you realize that it has local fruit and bread. Then you google it and its a cooperative with decent worker pay. And like, is it perfect? For sure not, but fuuuuck.
So now what do i do with our current narrative about the negative impacts of this economic model? Does it kill local small businesses? Probably. So bad. But its a cooperative and local businesses are actually often also horribly exploitative statistically speaking. So good? But cars, so bad. But they made giant awesome bike lane super highways, so good.
So real question here. Do we want to kill walmart? Or do we want it turned into a worker owned cooperative federation with an extremely low or equal pay differential between workers?

“In this rich analysis, Paulo Drinot ferrets out and pieces together an impressive range of sources from medicine, literature and much more, to show the shifting contours of 'the sexual question' in Peru. In addition to a wide-ranging analysis of urban processes in Lima, he also explores images of and policies about venereal disease among the Indigenous population and military conscripts from rural areas. It will be of great interest to scholars of Latin American politics, culture and history, as well as those interested in the history of sexuality and public health.”

#harris was briefly behind trump by only 16 votes in north carolina#YOUR vote counts so if youre maerican please please go vote#and dont forget to vote for the senate and the house and governor as well
ok this is it. polls are closing soon. this is going to be a close election. if polls are still open where you are it is imperative that you get out and vote. as long as you are in line by the time polls close you can vote so get in line and STAY in line because we need every vote. if trump wins it will be a disaster for the US and for the world. trump will wreck the economy, raise taxes and turn the us into a fascist country. when he says he wants to go back to how things were in the 1790s when women couldn't vote and slavery was legal BELIEVE HIM. it's not too late. vote to save lives.

I just downloaded this eBook, the Jewish Cookery Book by Esther Levy from The American Antiquarian Cookbook Collection. It was first published in 1871 and was designed to help recent Jewish immigrants to America acclimate to life in their new homeland. It fills my very specific ‘Jewish immigrants to America from approximately 1880 to 1930′ special interest niche, and I’m also fascinated by the social history of food.
I’ve gotten really into eBooks recently, and I’ve read four of them in about the past week and a half, which considering that I read a total of ten books in the entirety of 2019, is great progress for me. Unfortunately the arrival of my Kindle was delayed but I’ve been reading them through the desktop and android Kindle apps.
All the eBooks I’ve read so far have been cozy mysteries, which is a genre I’d never read or even heard of before until a friend got me into them recently. As the ‘cozy’ part would suggest, they’re not intense, graphic or stressful, which is great for my anxiety.
Have you gotten into a new format or genre recently? What was it?
