I....I have genuinely never thought about this, anon lmao

If I ever think about Mael I think about his love/hate/frenemy thing with Marius (but more in a 'look at these two clowns standing around dick measuring' sort of way than a shippy way). He clearly had some kind of thing for Jesse but whether that would turn out to be a good/fun/healthy relationship I think it's hard to say.

But if Mael got it in with her in a vampire way and got more chill as a result of finally getting laid, good for him! I support that.

He is also not too fond of Benji and Sybelle as well as Daniel, all of whom he considers not fit for the Dark Gift and therefore a liability. He tries to be kind to them anyway as it is not their fault.

Q) Did they do something extremely dangerous at some point in their life? Antagonizing an Ancient was probably not one of his brighter ideas, but thus are the follies of youth. 

R) Is there something they wish they could do/achieve but can’t? He sure would love to go back in time and fix some of the grievous errors he has made in the past but there is no helping that.

S)  Is there something in their life they regret? Everything from 1350 to 1670. Which is to say, his entire time in the cult.

T)  Do they have any siblings? Family? Loved ones? His blood relatives are all deceased and left no descendants. Instead he considers Maharet, Jesse, Mael and Eric his family, though he rarely voices that sentiment if he can help it. Further does he have some remnant paternal feelings for Armand. He is in a committed relationship with his companion Eric that has been going on for over three hundred years now.

U)  Are they a morning or night person? Night person, and even then he’d prefer to sleep in.

V) Do they have a pet? What kind? If not, what kind of pet would they want? A Burmese python called Pythagoras.

Armand’s eyes are dark and enormous in the dim light, and although she can see perfectly well, Jesse finds herself fighting the urge to flip the light switch. A human reflex, a hangover from when the darkness was unsafe, no doubt. But then again. It’s difficult to tell with Armand, whether his air of cold menace is deliberate or merely a side effect which he does nothing to prevent.

“Overwhelming,” she replies, opting for honesty. “Yes, it is. I – well, I suppose I always knew, on some level, that it might happen to me, but… I didn’t expect it to.” She smiles, aware even as she does it that it’s the equivalent of rolling over onto her back to show that she is not a threat.

“But I have Maharet and Mael to look after me.”

Armand stares at her for a long moment -- certainly longer than could be considered in any way polite or commonplace, but he isn’t here to build bridges. He takes a step closer, just one, and continues his examination.

The words are like a knife to the gut as he once again is forced to compare her with his Daniel; she’s so bright, so vibrant... healthy. It’s sickening. He can still smell the mortality clinging to her like a syrupy perfume.

“Yes, and I’m sure that they do a wonderful job of it.” He’s careful not to let the bitterness seep into his voice; Jesse may not be able to read his thoughts unless he gives her express permission, but that does not mean that she is completely tone-deaf, and he isn’t willing to show his cards so soon. Instead, he is measured, speaking as though holding any polite conversation. He goes as far as to turn his back, talking to her over his shoulder as he busies himself with clearing away scattered books and stacking them into neat piles. Let her think his guard is down, what difference does it make to him?

“I wonder what your friends in the Talamasca would think of your new lifestyle now. It can’t be easy to turn away from a way of life you have known for so long.”

hahaha fuck you LOUIS/ARMAND. TWICE. also like. i know daniel and armand got a lot of screentime the first time around and i am VERY GRATEFUL but then when they finally got together again after going through a HORRIBLE TIME, nothing. not a peep. i am disgruntled.

also - so many minor character ships. so many. like, did Jesse ever achieve her worthy goal of hooking up with Mael? Were Santino and Eric banging?? I NEED TO KNOW.

oh man. UHH. i feel certain that there must be, because i’m petty and grumpy like that, but i can’t --- oh wait! yes i can. way back in 2011 I used to ship Prof X and Magneto, largely because of the First Class film (but I ship the Stewart and McKellen versions to death too), but I just had to quit that fandom because this weird metamorphosis happened where the characterisation just slowly went completely off the rails and these weird obnoxious tropes popped up. so like while I do still ship the old men in love version I can’t think of the other one without going ‘ugh’.

If there were, I’d have to just write ‘yes’ here. ;) But like... nnnnot really?
