Oh my Blooks...

My take on Hapstablook (Mettaton), Madstablook (Mad Dummy/Mew Mew), and the Ruins Dummy ghost.

They're very distinct, as you can see.

While the funky Hapstablook designs where they're pink and have the emo Mettaton hair are fun to see, I think it's more fitting if they looked bland, considering Mettaton's whole deal is that he desperately dreams to be famous and is only able to achieve it once he builds the robot body, which is why he's depressed in Deltarune. This goes for the other ghosts too.

Dusttale: Revived | Character Concepts Pt.2

Here are my take on what I’m gonna call the Blookies.

I didn’t have a lot of ideas for their design, but then I was watching a playthrough of Ghostwire: Tokyo, where they encountered a Teru Teru Bozu (which kinda looks like a sheet ghost).

Also, some information about these versions:

Napstablook & Mad Dummy are siblings

Mettaton & Dummy (Ruins) are siblings

Napstablook & Mettaton are still cousins

Napsti Blooki (Napstablook)

Napstablook works as a DJ with his cousin in Hotland. He also works in coding, programming, & encryption for Dr. Serif.

He has a somewhat pessimistic & almost depressing demeanor, but has a calming aura that seems to keep everyone around him content & relaxed.

He prefers to be alone most of the time, but doesn’t mind being around a few other individuals (mainly his family, or MK).

Madsti Blooki (Madstablook)

Madstablook works as lookout & a bodyguard for the supply runners (albeit begrudgingly).

He’s pretty hot-tempered & isn’t afraid to start a fight for the pettiest of reasons. Though he does secretly care greatly about his family & friends, but he would rather burn alive than admitting that.

He & Dr. Serif bump heads pretty often & get into violent screaming matches (mainly due to a combination of Mads’s temper & V’s stubbornness).

Oddsta Blooki (Oddstablook)

Oddstablook works as lookout & to alert Dr. Serif whenever a human falls into the ground.

They’re incredibly hard to read, often wearing a blank expression. It’s impossible to fully know what they’re thinking. Only their family seems to know what they’re feeling.

They hardly ever talk, mainly using gestures or drawings to “talk”. Though they do occasionally giggle whenever someone tells a joke.

Hapsta Blooki (Hapstablook)

Hapstablook works as entertainment for the whole underground (at least to those who are remaining).

He tries his best to keep a positive mentality throughout the underground, still doing his shows to entertain the audience. Though it’s starting to show that he’s slowly lose hope & is having a tough time keeping up with his persona’s “fabulous” personality.

His robotic body was destroyed during the events of NPHRA. He’s been begging for Dr. Serif to rebuild it, but she keeps brushing him off, saying it’s a “waste of resources”.

I tried to keep their designs simple, but I think I might have overdone it with Hapstablook.

Undertale headcanon: naming ghosts.

(Warning: a lot speculations and adding pictures to the end of post)

Basically, you can say that all of ghosts have part "-blook" in their name (at least it's how they work in two cousins that we know):

Napstablook

Hapstablook

(Why not HAPPSTABLOOK kinda proved here, but in short - it's only Papyrus's headcanon name, and he has habit misspelled names like Flowey -> Flowery)

We also can say (even if it's only three examples) that after fusing with the body, ghosts usually change their name: (sometimes on something totally different)

Hapstablook took pseudonym Mettaton;

Training Dummy called just "Dummy" (not on ghost-like name);

The same goes for Mad Dummy and, moreover: after changing body, name also changes to "Mad Mew Mew"...

...or "Glad Dummy"!

As we can see, ghosts' names also depend on their personalities:

Napstablook often lies on the floor (and feels like garbage) like in Ruins and sleeps or pretends as sleep;

Hapstablook (according to Papyrus's headcanon, he is happy ghost) as Mettaton for sure enjoy his new life (and probably he was like this before he started dreaming about perfect body);

Mad Dummy is very furious (and Mad Mew Mew too; it's changing only if he became not her, but Glad Dummy).

With all this information, we can assume that when Mad Dummy/Mad Mew Mew was a ghost, they were named...

Madstablook.

And the only no-named ghost is the one who is just a "Dummy."

But according to Mad Dummy, we can say that he is "shy sort" and very sensitive; because of it, he (probably) very easily can become sad (for example, choice Flee "broke their little ethereal heart"). Dummy is also not talkative (attempt to speak ended in silence).

So now we have a bunch of possible versions of his name (like Shystablook, Timidstablook, etc.)

But if it takes as a rule the fact that cousins' names are very similar (like Napstablook and Hapstablook - difference only in first letter), then the most possible name for Dummy is Sadstablook.

Tsunderplane is probably also ghost, who possessed a plane (toy or machine, created by Alphys), so...

ur madstablooky design is so cute im not trying to ask this in a mean way but out of jenuien curiosity (/gen) ,,,,, why she ourple? i think it's very cute i think her pigtails and eyelashes and hookah shisha is very very cute all the gosts would smoke weed 100% but i dont rlly get why she is pirple (⁠＠⁠_⁠＠⁠;⁠)

Thank you! And, there's no real reason! I like the fanon design of Happstablook being pink, and thought it would be neat if all the ghosts were their own color. I think a bright, deep purple works well for Maddie. I've also been imagining a hypothetical where her ghost takes on a shape closer to Mew Mew:
