The look of stress on Lou’s face was essentially a permanent fixture, but it didn’t matter when she took this little moment to herself to scan the room. Lifting the glass of whiskey to her lips and taking a sip, Lou smiled at the way things had all come together. “Please tell me you’re enjoying yourself,” she said to the person who had just stepped up to her side, “I don’t care if it’s a lie, I honestly just need the confidence boost right now.” Turning to face the individual, she gave them a quick wink. “This looks good, right? It isn’t just me being delusional because I’ve been staring at it all for so long?”

“Okay look, I’m gonna be real with you here.” Addison McDaniel had never been anything but direct with people and she wasn’t planning to stop that now. “I think this whole ball is stupid but it is a good excuse to get drunk in a dress and convince some poor sap to take me home only to escape in the night and never call him again.” She took a sip of her gin and tonic and glanced over at the other person with a smile. “But if you love this kinda shit then good on you. I’m just not the ball gown princess type so this shit makes me uncomfortable. Too much damn lace and tulle for my likin’.”

Lacie hadn’t wanted to come to this event in a long time, but knowing that she was getting to come with Andrew Harper as her date made it much more enticing. She’d spent most of the night with him attached to her hip but he was chatting with his brother across the room and Lacie had slipped off to get a couple more drinks for the both of them. She was definitely a little past tipsy already and knelt down to yank her heels off her feet as she made her way over to the bar, shoes in her hand and holding her dress up with the other.

“I’m gonna need two glasses of champagne, STAT!” She laughed, leaning against the bar and glancing around at the people nearest her. “What? You don’t watch Grey’s Anatomy?”

Harper was not a smoker typically, but desperate times called for desperate measures. She was desperate for the sweet release she had once craved for in those attempts at rebellion in high school. Pinched from her brother, she was out the back of the ball ‘for the fresh air’, a beer in one hand the cigarette propped in the other. Her gaze locked on something in the distance, the only sounds filling the air were the crickets and the muffled sounds of the music inside. She had just exhaled when she heard footsteps coming outside, “Fu--” she mumbled, before deciding to give up and smirk, “Busted...”

She had definitely had too much tequila, sat at a table with a couple of friends as she sang along to the music before they wandered off to the dance floor. “Nooo, my feet hurt! Okay, drinking game!” instead of facing her friends now dancing, she turned to the nearest person to her, “You and you,’ she exclaimed, completely unaware that she was indicating to one person and not the two her vision was telling her was there. “Come play a game with me!”

Kenzie wasn’t the sharpest tool in the shed but even she couldn’t miss the look on Avery’s face every time she happened to catch her eye from across the room. She wouldn’t have said Avery looked mad per se but...definitely not thrilled to see Kenzie and Tate together. It was obvious that everyone thought Tate was a bad guy for Kenzie but she knew Avery was his friend so she was trying to understand why she’d been shooting daggers at her all night and decided it was time to ask. She kissed Tate’s cheek and left him with some parents of the kids on the football team to cross the ball room and find Avery. 

“Hey! Aves, can I talk to you a second?” Kenzie asked as she reached out and took the brunette’s hand shooting her a toothpaste commercial smile. “Is everything okay?”

*Katrina is not wearing henna on her forehead at the event *Katrina has no date but went due to Audrey insisting to come with *Katrina’s first event in town (has only been here roughly two weeks? That being said, she picked the first dress she found in her moving boxes.)

Hunter’s Closet: Madison Belle Ball 2020

This is only Hunter’s third ball. He started attending a few years ago when a customer at The Booze Barn asked him to attend as his date, and it was actually fun. He isn’t big on spending a ton of money or anything, but renting a tux for the night isn’t too bad of a deal. He opted for blue this year, and he’s let his beard grow out a little more than usual just for this.

Hunter invited @morganvaldez to attend this year as his date. The best part of whatever is going on between him and Morgan is that neither of them is really big on relationships or labels. Hunt fully expects her to spend half the night in the presence of other people, and he’s okay with every part of that. It gives him a chance to hang out with @austinxkirby and @logankirby for most of the night.

“Well, my Granny asked me where my date was already, but besides that this night is gonna be great.” Mags gulped a bit, using the words to convince herself being dateless again was okay.... But this was the seventh year in a row and people were starting to ask. LOU’S CLOSET: MADISON BELLE BALL 2020

In true Louella Dunn style, this dust storm rolls in and blows everyone away. Her smokey eyes and flowing, textured locks can be spotted flittering around the ball, making sure everyone is enjoying themselves. As the social planner of the Madison Belles, Lou is responsible for a large part of the night’s details. Growing up, this was surprisingly one of her favorite events. It’s even more special now that she spends months pouring over the details.

Nobody would expect such a statement of a gown for Lou, but she couldn’t help but feel drawn in to the green color that reminded her of the leaves of the trees in the woods on the Dunn Ranch. She cleans up good, and she’s ready to give this town one of the best nights they’ve had in a while. You can find her on the edge of the crowd, or slipping between spaces filled with laughing, happy people, with the slightest furrow in the space between her brows. No matter how many times you tell her that door to the storage closet locks behind you, she’s going to wind up stranded inside with the one person she’s been avoiding all night: @nicholasxgates.

He’d spotted Hunter outside deciding now was probably better time than any to actually find his brother and speak to him. He hasn’t exactly been around much the past couple of weeks, with the passing of his and Lyla’s birthday he had resorted to just hiding out at his house and barely showing up for his shifts. He was amazed he still had a job at this point, and knew if he kept it up he’d find himself unemployed for sure. With the current addition of Jessie to his life, it wasn’t an option. He wasn’t going to give her up at least to social services, he wouldn’t put a kid through that. He held out the other beer in his hand to his brother, nodding a little in greeting. “Having a good night?”

Nisa actually loves an excuse to get out of her normal clothes for a night. She always gets her dress at least a month in advance, and it’s always something revealing. Dark colors are her theme, this year is classic black. She usually has a date, but never a boyfriend or girlfriend, and this year when Levi ( @levimaddcx ) asked if she wanted to make a go of it with him she was all in. After all they have plenty of fun together, may as well make the ball a blast too. You’ll very likely catch her sneaking off early though because as much as she loves dressing up, girl has a different type of appetite when she sees other people dressed to the nines.

She was sat listening to yet another friend of her parents talk about her mom and what a great woman that they had lost, and wasn’t it such a shame, but hey at least she got back before she passed right? Which, of course, Harper hadn’t. She’d been the only sibling not to have made it, but that was another story. She was propped up on the table, her finger trailing lightly around the edge of the glass as he walked away finally and she heaved a sigh, glancing up to see Ryan. “Has he always been that obnoxious?”

Morgan grinned as she caught sight of Sydney, having already heard who she’d turned up with through the family grapevine. How anyone got anything past their family was a miracle. Sneaking up behind her cousin, she linked her arm through the others with a chuckle and began to lead her through the room. “So, I need details who is this man I’ve been hearing about that you came here with tonight? I promise, I will keep the really juicy parts to myself.”

Chesney’s Closet: Madison Belle Ball 2020

Chesney has attended every Madison Belle Ball since she turned 13. Her father has always splurged on her gown and made sure she had the best date lined up. The first time she picked her own date was her senior year of high school when she came with @romanmcgregor. Despite the two having not spoken in years, Chesney agreed to attend again as his date this year, or as close to a ‘date’ as she can get him to call it. Don’t let her date fool you, though, she is absolutely available for dancing and romancing.

She opted for a braided/ponytail combination hairstyle to keep her red locks out of her face. Normally one for natural-looking curls in her day-to-day life, Chesney loves the look of a pulled back hairstyle for more formal events. She didn’t necessarily need to have @audreymatt do this look but of course she went to see her favorite hair queen! Chesney will dance the night away and spend most of her evening at the side of @kenzie-davenport, @magnolia-bishop and @kennedyxkelley. There’s a high likelihood she will spend a solid chunk of time with @breezydanvers but more of her night will be spent watching the woman from afar.

TATE’S CLOSET: MADISON BELLE BALL 2020

When he asked @kenzie-davenport to finally let him take her out in public, and she finally agreed to it, Tate knew the Madison Belle Ball was going to be the perfect night. In true Mitchum style, he’s donning red in honor of the Madison Mustangs, but it matches the dress his date picked out perfectly. It better, he dragged her to six stores in Atlanta before they found the right shade of red. The red jacket over his white dress shirt and black bow tie atop the black dress pants is truly right up Tate’s alley. The suspenders are a nice touch, too.

He’s always loved the Belle Ball, a perfect opportunity to show off and work the crowd like the pro that he is, but this year it’s even more special. It’s the debut event for his relationship with Mackenzie Davenport, and while they’re not officially using titles yet, he’s pretty sure that this is going to be a night they look back on in the years to come with a lot of happy memories. Oh, and please pardon his joke about having three dates. He can’t help that @magnolia-bishop and @chesneyrags are tagging along most of the night.
