We are looking for horse blankets/hay/shelters! We were able to tarp a temporary area up today as our stubborn drafts were determined to stand in the cold rain..then started shivering. They just are older and dont have the fat to help. We have them both blanketed and dry now. We want to put several shelters up on the back property to ensure lots of spots to keep warm or cool. So just like that...we ordered 63 bales of hay to be delivered to feed our massive rescues..then my husband comes in with a business card with a rescue on it, saying 3 horses need to be rescued that are in similar positions as our drafts. After some phone calls, the rescue is going out to evaluate the mares to find out their disposition before we agree to bring them onto the farm. Our main goal for any rescues minus our seniors like Nova/Spirit, who will be permanently here,will be to get them healthy and find them a perfect match to go home with. We created a PayPal account for all donations to go to, to help cover costs of vet/food/etc for the horses care. Malina, our beautiful warrior that was diagnosed with SCC when we brought her in after suffering years of neglect, has continued to thrive since coming to our farm. She shows interest in whats going on around her, eating great, starting to trot around her front area. She still is nervous with what goes on around her which if you came from the life she led, very understanding. We have now been able to stand next to her and she will eat a bucket of feed we are holding after some convincing. Now here comes the part that I am asking for our community’s help to help her. She is still a young girl aged around 10yrs old and could have a hopeful chance of a longer life..and we want to help her. We have decided we want to get Malina the chance she deserves. We have spoken to our vet and another homeopathic facility, wanting to trial Malina on a new feeding cancer diet McDowells Herbal as well as a cancer fighting vaccine called Torigen. Malina is around 20, gentle once handled..she is nervous as she can only see from one eye. She had her eye removed due to cancer but it has become reinfected a year later. We have taken a biopsy and will know where to go when we get results. Potentially remove everything and sew eye shut but we will see what vet recommends. Malina needs sponsors!
