my little skam deep dive the last two nights made me reread the cuddle fic (even though i haven't so much as Looked at my skam fic in at least 6 years) and it's so funny bc like. it's fine. it's not bAD and i'm not cringing rereading it or anything but i also have almost 8 years worth of additional writing experience since i wrote that. so there are So Many points where i'm like, 'ooh ease up on the adjectives and adverbs' or 'ah i'm telling a lot rather than showing here' or where it feels too generic or not as authentic or w/e. and like there are sections where i'm reading and i'm In It and there are points where i can see my style peeking through or where i've used a turn of phrase or description that i still use today.

but it all feels a little wild to me bc until i joined the 911 fandom that was my most popular fic by a mILE. to this day, it's still my most commented fic and the one people engaged with the most on tumblr and bc it was also tropes i loved, i had so much fun writing it. so for so long i firmly believed i would never write anything that good again. that was it. that was my peak. i'd written my magnum opus and nothing else i wrote would ever measure up. and don't get me wrong i'm still v proud of it and so happy it could make other people happy and i'll never get over the reaction at the time but i can also acknowledge. i have in fact written things that are much better than it and i probably would write it a million times better if i were to attempt it now lmao

anyway tl;dr how the fuck is that fic almost eight years old and also writing really is an ever evolving process isn't it
