ATINY/MOA/CARATS vs Made in Abyss was the last thing I expected and its hilarious
feel like I need to say something since twitter absolutely loves spreading misinfo and just accusing people of shit, how have you people not LEARNED your lesson yet? Since when is twitter such a trusted source, especially gossip accounts?
And before you braindead stans start calling me a d!ckrider, I promise you I do not care about these men cuz I've got better things to focus on and I'm making this because people are overreacting and it's getting annoying. It's so obvious 90% of you haven't watched the anime (and thats completely fine, I get you) and then ended up listening to someone who made stuff up and overexaggerated. I'm not here to defend the author because I hate him as much as you do and can absolutely recognize the dude is into some weird shit but saying people are ONLY interested in this series because of r@pe and p€dophilia is INSANE. So let me answer some questions as a Made an Abyss reader (not calling myself a fan because you'll catch me DEAD before you see me buying any merch or manga despite my love for the series), kpop fan second.
Does Made In Abyss contain p3d0ph1l1c themes, gore etc.?
There absolutely is because the author is a creep (refering to the nsfw however, most of the times it's very easily skippable. As someone who hates l0l1con cuz it creeps me out, I can tell you that I really didn't have a hard time skipping said scenes even in the manga which is far more explicit than the anime (Prushka asking about Bond's 'stick', Faputa looking into Regs pants, Vueko's weird comments) and sometimes, they're even added as extras (0.5 chapters) which certain sites that contain scans don't even include. I didn't even know about the existence about a few of these chapters BECAUSE they don't include them.
The OVA is a nightmare to watch and was not only unfunny but creepy as fuck especially when they try to boil down such an amazing character like Ozen into 'I like seeing little kids in pain'. Now I have no idea if this was made independently but I don't remember the author making any spin-offs that they could base this on so I can't tell you who wrote it but even then I doubt that the author minded it since the man himself had to include that Faputas behind smells like the 'Sun' so again, not here to defend him cuz he most definitely is a weirdo, no doubt about it.
Is Made in Abyss torture p*rn?
If MiA is torture p*rn then AoT is military propaganda and supports child labor, TPN is also torture p*rn, JJK promotes violence, Berserk excuses r*pe and Evangelion is also p*do bait. See how stupid that sounds? Just because an anime INCLUDES something, does not mean it necessarily supports it. Yes, r*pe is mentioned but it's not even SHOWN, and it's a cruical part of a characters backstory. The torture that happens, happens only once if we exclude Riko's 'experiment' at the very beginning of the manga. And Mitty's transformation can't even be classified as torture cuz it's a.... transformation. Prushka's death is very censored so its not like you can jack off to that anyways. Now the piss thing is something I have noticed but haven't really payed attention it because bffr why the hell would I so idk, maybe the author is trying to tell us something or the guy thinks pee pee poo poo funny🤷‍♀️.
Is there any plot besides the weird stuff?
See now this is the part that gets me most because the reason why a majority of people nowadays got into MiA in the first place is BECAUSE of the amazing plot. The world building, the mystery, the fight scenes, etc. It's amazingly drawn, nicely paced and unique in its own way. But of course, it's manga&anime and what's anime without fanservice? I already explained that in manga, said scenes can be easily skipped and the anime thankfully doesn't include a lot of these. I do have to admit thag I dropped the manga for now since the chapter where they were in a bath cuz it was another one of those 'here we go again' moments where it made me roll my eyes and just close the tab so I don't really know what's been happening recently and if things go weirder.
I'm also gonna tell you honestly that yes, the fandom is filled with sweaty dudebros itching to see these kids half naked and the author is aware of them and pondering to them because he too is one of them. But a large majority is back from when the anime originally came out and are mostly hiding on twitter so it's easy to avoid them and they've been pretty rare ever since people with actual interest in the series have begun watching it. A reason why back in the day I didn't wanna interact with the fandom at ALL was because the moment I tried to have a normal conversation about the plot and what might actually be going on, I instead get bombarded with "UWAAAA😭😭😭" and 'c*nny' comments. I also cannot defend and don't even plan on defending the fact that Faputa is pretty much naked the entire series. I get that she lives in the literal wilderness, but the very least you could do is put a cloth on her y'know. And mind you, I'm talking about the manga. The anime is a LOT more heavily censored, and from what I heard, even MORE censored in Korea.
To sum it up:
Do I think Mingi/Soobin/Woozi are p*dos cuz they watched the anime? Absolutely the fuck not. Considering Mingi is a big CSM fan, I can see why he watched Made in Abyss because I was in that same pipeline. I think some of you are going way too far with these comments, if you wanna call them weird, creepy, wanna unstan them for reading stuff like this go ahead, not gonna stop because in the end no one can but accusing people of crimes isn't funny and never will be. If they were exposed for watching shit like Kodomo no Jikan then that most definitely IS eyebrow raising. Maybe I'm slightly biased due to me only enjoying MiA for the plot so seeing people say the fans are p3d0s when the first time I watched this was when I was freshly 15.... yeah idk abt that one. Whether they liked the weird and questionable scenes, I have zero idea I'm just here to say that you can enjoy said anime without being a weirdo and you shouldn't begin jumping to conclusions and start calling people straight up criminals. If anyone wants to have a productive conversation and ask questions abt said anime cuz I doubt you're gonna go watch an anime over a Twitter drama, go ahead and ask. If you wanna insult me and call me a d!ckrider then go ahead and do that too, who am I to stop you?

Library vs. Abyss
Researched Library of Ruina recently and after realizing a rare case of absolutely loathing (later merely disliking) a tragic villain, in this case the villain protagonist whose story is followed from Roland's point of view, my mind somehow managed to connect the Library (where the defeated get turned into books) made out of Angela's E.G.O. to the Abyss that Bondrewd performs his multitude of morally dubious actions involving cartridges.
Both are seemingly infinitely large spaces on the inside too that are filled with suffering and death perpetuated by blatantly evil people who believe that it all justifies an end goal (an A.I. becoming human and destroying their creator's ultimate dream out of spite/vengeance for a million years of suffering on one hand, and ever growing knowledge/preventing the presumably apocalyptic outcome of an approaching 2000 year cycle of a hellhole where fates worse than death can be the norm on the other hand.) Mind you, near the end one of them is finally made to realize (through battle and a reason-you-suck-speech from the other villain protagonist) how far they've fallen and end up sacrificing their newfound humanity to restore all the people they had murdered and turned into books (they tried sacrificing themselves entirely to the Light - including a confrontation with Carmen and a very timely "I'm sorry... and good job" from Ayin of all people - before Roland basically dragged them back out). The other really hasn't at all. One word: Mitty.
Using all powers and all people from the respective series, which verse would walk out the winner?

(Sorry for my english) Sad ED: Fushimi turns out to be a dangerous strain that Munakata is forced to give the death penalty for him. How the reaction of S4, Homra, and white clan about that? Before munakata punishes Fushimi with saber, Fushimi smiles and say 'thank you' to Munakata. So Munakata was very sad after executing the death penalty. :'(
I think Munakata would refuse to administer any kind of death penaltyunless there was absolutely no way around it, like I could totallysee him going against the Gold King or the Prime Minister or whoeverhe had to in order to save Fushimi. Maybe the Strain power is suchthat it causes Fushimi to lose control of himself entirely, like hiswhole personality is eaten up and taken over by this power and hebasically becomes a little more than an animal. Even then I thinkMunakata works until the end to try and save Fushimi, with Homra andHakumaitou probably helping – I imagine Munakata going to Shiro tosee if there’s any research that’s been done on the Slate which couldshow some way of reversing Fushimi’s powers, which even dampeningdevices can’t get rid of. Shiro does his best but there’s nothing hecan do, and meanwhile not only have Fushimi’s powers gotten moredangerous but maybe they’re paining him too, like the powers wreakhavoc on his own body and he’s basically trapped inside his body withno way out and in pain all the time. Homra tries what they can, Iimagine Awashima talking to Kusanagi about it, just totallydevastated. and Kusanagi just refuses to believe that there’s noother way to save Fushimi. But the more he learns about Fushimi’scondition the more he realizes what a dilemma the Blue clan is in,that they all want only to save Fushimi but in this case death maynot be so much of a punishment as a release. Yata would probably takethis the hardest, like he refuses to believe that there’s no wayFushimi can’t be saved even as evidence mounts that the conditionreally is irreversible.
Finally there’s no choice but for Munakata to end things, all ofScepter 4 and probably at least Kusanagi, Yata and Anna show up fromHomra to say their goodbyes. Yata can barely stay through the wholething, just crying and clenching his fist so tight it starts to bleedbefore Anna takes his hand and gently unclenches the fist. Kusanagihas the two of them leave before the final blow though, he doesn’twant either one of them to see this. Scepter 4 are trying to remainstoic, swords drawn and held at attention in respect as Munakatasteps forward but Hidaka’s got tears streaming down his face andBenzai has one hand holding Akiyama’s. Kusanagi goes over to Awashimato offer his shoulder as support, she’s remaining stone faced but hecan see the way her shoulders are shaking. Munakata looks down at thechained and convulsing Fushimi, face impassive, and finally raiseshis sword. Everyone tenses and Fushimi looks at Munakata, shaking andbreathing hard, and his mouth twists into a smile as he forces out a‘do it.’ Munakata’s hand doesn’t even shake, eyes never leavingFushimi’s as he plunges the sword in and Fushimi slumps against him, breathing out the words 'thank you’ as he goes limp in Munakata’sarms.

My Review of Made in Abyss: The Golden City of the Scorching Sun
Tumblr media
Season One Review
I’m so excited to see this anime! I remember…
Oh.
I was obliviously excited for this anime while erasing every horrifying thing I saw in the first season and movie. Seriously, how the hell could I forget about suitcase organs, Riko’s arm almost being amputated, and the worst thing imaginable to Mitty? Well, I’m sure season two will calm down with…
Tumblr media
There’s a rape 30 seconds into the first episode.
Yay! More child abuse!
This anime continues to hurt.
Tumblr media
HISTORY: A giant, gaping chasm stands in the middle of a land mass. It’s unknown how far the bottom is (if there’s even a bottom). It’s unknown how this abyss came to be. All we know is that there are rare relics and mysterious creatures that surround the area. There are people known as ‘Divers’ who explore the abyss. However, the further down you go into the chasm, the harder it is to get back up to the surface without suffering painfully. Side-effects include nausea, vomiting, evacuation of the bowels, bleeding from the mouth, bleeding from the eyeballs, body mutilation, and death.
Tumblr media
Riko had high ambitions of becoming a diver like her mother. And if she becomes a skilled diver, her hopes are to find her mother who went missing 10 years ago. Riko goes on a journey of her own down in the abyss. Along with Riko is a boy who’s half-cyborg named Reg. He would like to know more about his own existence as he suffers from amnesia. And finally, there’s Nanachi. She looks like a furry animal, but she was once a girl until a cruel experiment changed her when she ascended from one layer to another.
Tumblr media
GOLDEN CITY: This story takes place after the events of Dawn of the Deep Soul. Riko, Reg, and Nanachi are in the special compartment Bondrewd made to descend to their next stop, the Golden City. This is in the sixth layer of the abyss and is also known as “The Capital of the Unreturned”. Many of the creatures that reside here are either banished from other lands or are hollows (much like Nanachi). This is also the place where everyone was able to discover more than they bargained for. Nanachi was reunited with Mitty (but it came with a price). Reg is inching closer to knowing about his life before being found by Riko.
Tumblr media
But it isn’t just about Reg, Riko, and Nanachi. Every now and then we see a little bit of the past with a group of travelers filled with adventurers, outcasts, and the banished. This part shows us the Golden City before it became a mystery village full of hollow-like creatures. And that’s all I’ll say since this gets really spoilery very fast.
Tumblr media
NEW CHARACTERS INTRODUCED: Besides following the tales of Riko, Reg, and Nanachi, we occasionally see something from the past with characters who landed in the Golden City. There were explorers like Wazukyan and Belaf. And then there were the banished people. And one of those banished was Vueko. She’s the one we saw getting raped in the first 30 seconds of this season. As you can see, her life has been utter shit from minute one. Vueko, along with others have been abandoned to the sixth-layer of the abyss due to one thing or another.
Tumblr media
Irumyuui was another abandoned child. Irumyuui was cast aside by her family because it was learned that she would be unable to bear a child once she gets older. So, she’s damaged goods! Wouldn’t it be great if she could magically bear children? Haha…this is no laughing matter. Stay tuned!
Tumblr media
And finally, there’s Faputa. She is seen as the princess of this area (in the present time). Faputa is the daughter of, um, a character. Stay tuned! And holy shit, her voice actress Misaki Kuno lost her voice during the final episodes. Faputa was that intense! Good Lord woman, please take care of your vocal cords. I can’t imagine how hard the English cast might go through. Good luck, Catherine Thomas!
JAPANESE CAST: *Vueko is played by Yuka Terasaki (known for Korrina on Pokemon XY, Luna on YGO 5Ds, Tenma on Inazuma Eleven: GO, and Sasha on Index)
*Irumyuui & Faputa is played by Misaki Kuno (known for Frederica on 86, Akane on Durarara, Kurumi on Lycoris Recoil, and Shio on Happy Sugar Life)
ENGLISH CAST: *Vueko is played by Kristen McGuire (known for Hirano on Assassination Classroom, Haruna on Nichijou, Isabel on Attack on Titan, Chiyo on Prison School, and Yu on Fire Force)
*Irumyuui is played by Savannah Menzel (known for Rumi on OreGairu)
*Faputa is played by Catherine Thomas (known for Yui on OreGairu and Itsuki on Kakegurui [Sentai dub])
LICENSING: Everything and anything having to do with Made in Abyss is taken by Sentai Filmworks. So that means the only streaming service in America to see this is Hidive. Hey, every anime doesn’t have to go to Crunchroll. Although European countries can watch it on Crucnhyroll. Best of all, Sentai Filmworks put out an English dub shortly after the main release with the original cast back. As of recent, Toonami on Adult Swim picked up this series and has been slowly airing all of Made in Abyss. One can only wonder how much of this series had to be censored for television.
Tumblr media
PREVIOUSLY IN THE FLINCHING MY WHOLE-BODY DEPARTMENT: I thought the worst of this season was going to be with what happened to Maaa after it squeezed someone a little too tight. But then you remember that Made in Abyss is full of gruesome scenes. And watching Maaa be torn apart was only the tip of this scary iceberg. Oh, I thought I survived worse when the previous season to Made in Abyss provided me with bleeding eyes, shit, the almost removal of body parts, human organs in a suitcase, and EVERYTHING involving the character Mitty.
Tumblr media
But then we come to the seventh episode of this season and I am seriously at a loss of words with what I witnessed. They did not hold back. We witnessed everything from explosive diarrhea to giving birth to stillborn monstrosities to friggin’ cannibalism. You heard me, I said cannibalism! And yet it still got worse from there as we watch a body change on the same level as Mitty. Poor Irumyuui! Irumyuui was given a relic that would grant a wish. This was in hopes of curing her from a sickness. Irumyuui ended up giving birth to children. These children have no functioning organs and die in a couple of hours. And it just continues and continues!
Tumblr media
After a while, she transformed into something that cannot be identified as anything and eventually morphed into an entire village. Not before giving birth to one last child that didn’t die. Her name is Faputa. She was born with the wrath left by her mother. And who could blame Irumyuui? All she wanted to do was give birth. She was cast aside from her homeland because she would never be able to have children. And she watched as all of her children die in her arms only for the pain to continue as they become food for her travel companions.
Medea needs a moment to herself.
Tumblr media
I’m fine. I’m fine watching this. After having my gag reflex took a rest, I was fine. This series is pain. It’s utter pain.
Tumblr media
Well, Made in Abyss gave us another character to hate on since Bondrewd wasn’t around. Wazukyan is someone…I’m really conflicted about. He did save Vueko and the others. At least there was genuine concern from the other people. Vueko almost offed herself. Belaf went insane after he learned what was in that stew. Mitsuki Saiga does another stellar performance as a tortured boy. But back to Wazukyan, we really didn’t see him with any guilt eating Irumyuui’s stillborn babies. In fact, he had no doubt or guilt taking away these infants immediately, without giving Irumyuui the chance to be with them before they die. Something about them tasting better when they’re fresh. I think I still hate Bondrewed more, but this guy…yeah, this guy.
Tumblr media
ENDING: *sighs* No happy ending for Mitty ever. It’ll always hurt for Nanachi and the audience.
Anyways…
Tumblr media
We got our answer of who some of these hollow-looking characters are in this town. They were once the outcasts and allies that traveled with Vueko and Irumyuui. And as we all know at this point, Irumyuui is the village herself after suffering the worst kinds of pain imaginable. All this girl wanted was to give birth. Yeah, it’s sick as shit to hear someone her age say that. But keep in mind, her family banished her when it was learned she would never be able to bear children. Oh, Irumyuui got her wish thanks to a certain relic given to her by Wazukyan! Thanks again, bruh! It came in the form of a bunch of stillborns and one wrathful child named Faputa.
Tumblr media
Faputa has so much hatred for everything that has happened to her mother Irumyuui. She wants the village to run red with the blood of everyone (except for Reg). She likes Reg. While we still don’t know the real origins of Reg, we do see some flashbacks of Reg with Faputa prior to meeting Riko. Faputa really loved the way Reg treated her and they made a promise that they would one day meet again after Reg returns from his travels. Reg unfortunately doesn’t remember Faputa, but they do hook up again and have some cute moments together. I guess the amnesia happened between the time he left Faputa and meeting Riko.
Tumblr media
But it looked like nothing had changed with Faputa as she likes Reg. Except when he sticks up for the village. Too bad Reg’s kindness was his downfall against Faputa. His second gear is pretty slammin’ when Riko blows her white whistle (made from Prushka). But Reg in second gear is just no match against Faputa’s rage. However, Faputa does get the shit knocked outta her when it comes to the real monsters of the Golden City. Add to that Belaf gave Faputa some past memories so she has some sort of glimpse of what her mother was prior to everything that had happened. So that kinda messed with her mind a bit. Despite her hatred for everyone due to her history and everything, they still came to Faputa’s aid.
Tumblr media
In this final fight against these rogue-ass monsters, many characters introduced this season lost their lives. Belaf used up his final power to give Faputa some scattered memories. Majikaja literally broke everything in his body to help Riko and the others escape from harm, but gave an extra boost to Faputa. Maaa disappeared. Such a tragic character! And then there’s Wazukyan…nobody is crying for this mother fucker. Again, he’s not on Bondrewd-levels of shit and some can argue that his methods did save his comrades, but seriously, this guy, this guy right here. And finally, we’ve got Vueko. Taken out by that one thing we probably all forgot about for a second. When you ascend from the sixth layer, even from some stairs…
Tumblr media
OH DEAR GOD! NOO! FUCKING END THIS ALREADY! CAN VUEKO PLEASE LIVE IN PEACE?! IS THAT SO FUCKING HARD?! SHIT GUYS, THIS SERIES IS KILLING ME WITH CHARACTER TORTURE HERE!
The abyss is a harsh mistress and we must accept this. Anyways, Faputa, Reg, and the others came up with a plan to destroy this Irumyuui-made city from the bottom-up. It was rough to go through, but it was manageable. Vueko passes away shortly after and given a proper burial from Faputa. Faputa is full of conflicted feelings at this point. She no longer wants to murder the rest of the survivors, she has a sense of respect for Nanachi and Riko, and has conflicting emotions towards Reg. That just means she’s a little Blushy McIdiot. We still don’t get an explanation for Reg’s amnesia between first meeting Faputa and meeting Riko. But as she blushes, yeah, she still likes Reg. They invite Faputa to travel with them. I’m unsure if she really does travel with Reg, Riko, and Nanachi as the anime ends there. Guess we need another season or movie to learn what happens next.
Sigh.
You know what? Earlier this year, I decided to venture on and watch a fucked-up movie called Requiem for a Dream. After sitting through that 105 minute what-the-fuck-athon, I swore that there would never be a single thing I watch after that to be as bad as that. When I mean ‘bad’ I mean, this film was fabulous and it’s going to give me nightmares for the next 5 years. And then the second season of Made in Abyss came along. Now, I have the stomach to watch Jared Leto’s infected arm and Ellen Burstyn getting electroshock therapy. Made in Abyss trumped that for some reason. Good fucking God!
Still a great series!
Tumblr media
So, what next? I really hope we don’t have to wait another several years for a sequel. Does Faputa travel with Riko and Reg? Do we get more information about Reg prior to meeting Riko? Like who the hell created him in the first place? Is the next installment going to give us some insight about Riko’s mother? And what about Nanachi?
She’s on Pop Team Epic.
What?
Tumblr media
Um, I don’t know what to say about that. I’m also not sure if this is legal. I’m just going to go back to my recommendation part of the review.
Full recommendation like last time. It needs to be repeated, this series is not for the faint of heart. Even healthy individuals might find trouble sitting through this anime without flinching. But if you’re willing to overlook a little blood, bodily harm, and other horrors that could befall 11-year-olds, then enjoy the adventure down the abyss and into the golden city.
If you would like to watch Made in Abyss’s latest season, HI-DIVE has it all including season one, the recap movies, the sequel movie, and this season. Toonami on Adult Swim is also airing the series.

Just realized I never gave my thoughts about Made in Abyss season 2. So, spoiler cut!
So! I liked this one a lot. In fact, it was a definite step up from season 1, which I also enjoyed but felt that it didn't really kick into gear until Nanachi and Mitty showed up. Now that it's been established just how utterly fucked up the abyss can get, this one made full use of of that to give us something that was honestly really cool and yet incredibly disturbing.
I loved the idea of a village of Hollows and Narehates. Like, that is such a cool idea that these fucked up mutated people would found their own stable society with its own weird rules and culture, even if it did get kind of...gross. Actually, that made it more interesting. The whole value system is alien enough to be bizarre yet clearly makes sense to them.
We got a ton of new characters, and yet they all worked. The villagers were great, Faputa was great, Vuero was wonderful, the flashbacks to the old adventure party were both fascinating and horrifying, and Wazukyan made for a very interesting contrast for previous antagonists like Bondrewd. He was just so pleasant and easy-going, and you can't argue that the things he did did not have good reasons. But he was just so casual while doing such cruel things, even if it was for everyone's survival.
Also, credit for creating a genuinely thought-provoking moral dilemma where I could kind of see the merits in both point of views while not having any sort of easy solution. A real Those Who Walk Away From Omelas sort of feel.
That being said, there were a few points of criticism. For one, I do feel that with so many new characters being introduced and only one of them set to survive the end of the season, the main cast sort of got pushed to the sideline, especially Nanachi. It does feel like Mitty was unnecessarily brought back to bench Nanachi for several episodes just to kill her again. And we did that already. No need to go through all of that again.
And while I do get it, it does cheapen the whole moral ambiguity thing by having all the Hollows okay with being eaten by Faputa. I feel like some should have resisted.
And finally, one downside of making us like all of these new characters only to give them big, dramatic death scenes is that when you line them up in a row it does start to drag after a while. Like, one or two tragic deaths? Fine. Several one right after the other? Sort of loses its impact.
Regardless, I did like this a lot, and am looking forward to further traumatizing adventures.

Ellen the narehate
The Witch's House: The Diary of Ellen + Made in Abyss spoilers
In the Diary of Ellen manga, there's a scene where for a brief moment, I felt joy for Ellen despite knowing what a horrible person she is.
It's the one where she's running in Viola's body and she's just overjoyed to finally, after a couple hundred years, be able to run without trouble and breathe clearly and just... be healthy. Something she always felt that other people take for granted because they don't realize how painful her disease was and how much it limited her. And she's thinking the words to herself in near-disbelief, processing the fact that it's real. She then hugs herself and kisses her shoulder. Not only feeling relief, but pure happiness at finally achieving the one desire she always had. Such a simple thing that should have been hers inherently, but that, in her view, was unfairly kept from her all her life.
With all that said, I'd love to give her the Mitty treatment! >:3 See how she finally loses her mind trapped in a blob body like that. Then Viola's ghost can haunt her or some shit idk.
Or just stick her in a Danganronpa execution hehe. It would work since despair is the key to a witch's death. 8D
Tbh though, I do love the idea of Made in Abyss AUs for Ellen especially. Like, sure, there's the idea of her getting ultra karma by becoming a narehate in the way you really DON'T want to. But on the other hand, what about an AU where she and Viola were genuine friends and Viola ended up essentially in Mitty's position, a sacrifice that gave Ellen a new fluffy narehate body? She would finally be healed from her sickness (says me, idk), but she would be alone without her one true friend.
It just reminds me of that line Nanachi says, "even though I know I didn't receive this body just to lie around and sleep all the time." I think Ellen would live out that ideal whether it's canon her or AU her. Everything she went through just to finally be able to run freely and explore what the world has to offer? She wouldn't spend another full day indoors, that's for sure!

After watching an emotional movie Luz comforts Colli.
Greetings! Thank you for the request!
Drabble: Tearjerker
It was a quiet evening in Gravesfield. A certain kindhearted celestial boy with otherworldly fluffy lavender hair was spending some time at his second Home, the Noceda Household. Colli just watched an very emotional movie.
Luz, who stepped into the living room, found her compassionate little brother crying. "Colli! Are you ok?" She asked softly. "I'm fine, Luz. The movie was just so sad!" The starboy said between sobs. "What movie was it?" Luz asked.
"It was the second 'Made in Abyss' movie. I'm still thinking about Mitty's death and Nanachi's grief." Colli explained. Luz immediately wrapped her arms around him. Colli didn't hesitate to cuddle close to his beloved big sister.
After a very long cuddling session, Colli felt much better. "Thank you." He whispered with a sweet smile. Luz answered with a soft cheek kiss.

there's a Made in Abyss game apparently. I guess they know the main draw of the show cause they seem to only advertise the fact that you play as a cut character who get's fucked up

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, I'm fully prepared for this game to conclude in your character dying the most gruesome death possible. Like, you're gonna become this beyond saving incredibly fucked up creature and then you're going to have to play as Reg blasting yourself into smithereens. You're gonna get that Mitty treatment and it's gonna be terrible.

Should it be Made in Poland or Poland in Abyss?
No? No one? I'm just loosing my time whith weird crossovers, but I would really love this one. Imagine a Belarus-looking Nanachi taking care and crying the death of Mitty-Ukraine. Just imagine.
:'( Now I'm almost crying too. Mitty did hutr me.

Spoiler Warning for Made in Abyss
Okay so I’ve this recent obsession with Made in Abyss since I heard the 3rd film would be releasing in U.S. theaters. I saw the anime when it first came out, but I just came back to the manga and read it all the way through in a matter of days before watching the recap films. I freaking love this series to death despite some of it’s problematic content, but there is one thing that keeps pushing my buttons...
Why won’t they just let Nanachi go?
I mean, I love Nanachi. She’s my favorite character in the whole series and her arc in both the 4th Layer and Idofront parts of the manga really touched me. But her character has nowhere else to go. Bondrewd and Mitty were the only things that were tying her to the story. I get that she has a friendship with Riko and Reg, and I would love to see her in more of the story, but I think that she’s really dragging down what could have been one of the best arcs in the series.
Following up Idofront would not be an easy task, since it acted as the climax of the first half of the children’s adventure. They fought one of the most revered and feared white whistles in the world and (for the most part) ended his experiments on children. But the next arc in the Capital of the Unreturned blew almost everyone away. The worldbuilding, the brand new and interesting characters, everything about this arc could have been amazing. But the issue arises when the author needed to write something for Nanachi.
What was her place in this new arc? Where was her story supposed to go after Bondrewd was defeated and Mitty was “saved?” Well, apparently the only reasonable thing to do was revive Mitty and reopen Nanachi’s wounds. It feels like her character was brought back several steps. Now she’s back to the emotional state she was in during the anime.
Not to mention the issues that arise with Mitty’s revival. Like, what is so dangerous and scary about the Abyss if characters can come back just like that? What was the point of killing Mitty off when they were just going to bring her back?
Loli suffering can only bring a story so far, and it feels like the author is overusing his ability to make us care about these characters to the point where we start to not care about these characters. In Idofront and the beginning of The Capital of the Unreturned, it seemed like he learned to slow down and make the pain slowly seep in. He learned to make us care about the characters before he destroys them. But now, that all goes away with Mitty coming back. He destroyed the emotional impact of the series with this. He could easily bring it back in the next arc, and heck, despite what some people might say, I think he did it with just the flashback. But even still this plotpoint and Nanachi’s continued existence is starting to hurt the quality of Made in Abyss, and I’m a little scared to see where it’s going.

Ooooh okay so:
Made in Abyss: The way they executed Mitty's death scene was so beautiful and I cried so much x3.
Channel Zero (No End House): I forgot the names of the characters from this show, but at the end when the dad clone chooses to sacrifice himself, oh god... It hurt. SO much. Because it just... hit too close to home in a way.
which fictional death has affected you the most emotionally? like had you straight up crying your eyes out or similar responses
