Sooo I watched BATB (2017) with my Dad (last night). Amazingness, sass, & a lot of crying happened. Enjoy! Also feel free to follow my twitter if you so wish. 

(This isn’t in any real order. I tried my best.)

Belle: Good Morning Monsieur Jean. Have you lost something again? Jean: I believe I have, the problem is I can’t remember what... Dad: Hey, that’s me! Me: -chokes on drink; 😂🙊

-Maurice tells Belle her mother was fearless; Dad: Are we gonna find out about her mom? Me: Be patient. Dad: Ok. -Find out backstory about Belle’s mom; Dad: Oh, no. Wow. Me: 😭😭😭😭😭😭 

My Dad was having none of Gaston’s misogyny/sexism & all around douchey-ness. 

- during ‘Gaston’ sequence; Dad: Is he really the Man among men?🙃 Me: Unfortunately to these villagers; yes. Dad: ...Gross.

Gaston: Why hasn’t a lady snatched you up yet? Lefou: I’ve been told I’m clingy, but I don’t see it. Me: Also you’re gay. Dad: Oh yea. Very. 😏😏

‘Be Our Guest’ had my dad speechless. (It’s his fav song from the ‘91 film)

He also loves that Dan Stevens daughter helped design the dress.

This masterpiece has taken another soul prisoner.

Lefou: I was on Gaston’s side; but we’re in a bad place right now. Mrs. Potts: You’re too good for him anyway. Dad: Heck yeah you are!  Me: -high fives; ✊🏼

Sidenote: My dad kept referring to ‘Beast’ as ‘Monster’ on 2 occasions; to which I firmly reprimanded him for. Then when the Beast said ‘I’m not a beast’ I heard him sniffle & clap. I’m so proud.

-Agathe is revealed as ‘The Enchantress’; Dad: -gasp; I should’ve known.

Cogsworth’s wife: ‘He’ll reek havoc on our village if we let him wander free.’ Dad: Ugh that lady!! Get her out of here. Me: -manges a giggle whilst crying; -When it’s revealed that she’s Cogsworth’s wife; Wife: ...Henry? Dad: Oh no... HER!? Cogsworth: Turn back into a clock. Turn back into a clock. Dad: -dies laughing;

He later commented that he could’ve come up with a million other ways to kill Gaston. To which I said: ‘That’s how he dies in the ‘91 version’. His response: ‘Still... could’ve been better.’

Literally my Dads only criticism of the film is that Gaston should’ve had a more gruesome death. LMAO👌🏼.

My Dad’s final comment on the film/story/life in general:

I have so many fond memories of you watching the ‘91 version over & over again. And when you weren’t, you were singing/humming the songs to yourself when you thought no one could hear. You are so lucky to get to experience your favorite story for the first time again. Beautiful; this movie is beautiful.

...Basically my Dad is the best. And he’s the reason I am the way I am.
