Something we liked about mouthwashing is that it had characters which fit into the “ostracized by society” group but made it very clear these people were much different from the actual perpetrator. It’s too often “social fuck-ups” are lumped together, giving true abusers a place to hide. Pointing that shit out as what it is and that it’s very much NOT the same as, say, being an alcoholic, meant a lot to us. One is a place somebody lands in, the other is an act the person in question has full control over.

again and again i find myself lamenting that audio roleplay isn't taken more seriously by some people. like yeah, they often have a romantic element, and by nature they usually directly involve/address the listener- and i totally get that those things aren't to everyone's taste. no art or entertainment is universally appealing, and that's okay! but.. it still makes me a lil sad that the "cringe" reputation of asmr/audio rp precedes it. there's a whole lot of talent and creativity being poured into these audios by so many people that i feel goes unrecognized and/or disrespected simply due to the medium that the stories are being told through.

Now that I have your attention, I have an important thing to say regarding the ask box.

Listen, I know y’all love the characters, and I’m really happy that you do! I also know that some of y’all simp for these guys, which is funny as hell and again, I’m glad you enjoy my versions of these characters as much as you do.

If you’ve followed this blog for any amount of time you know I get quite a few asks simping over my guys. Let me say this: submit those asks all you’d like! They’re fun to respond to and have a laugh over.

But, one ask I received on Wednesday (you know who you are, also this ask was not directed at any character so I can only assume it was targeted at me) has been the reason I decided to make this post.

Do not send me anything overtly explicit in the ask box.

Y’all can simp over these characters as much as you’d like. And feel free to submit your goofy asks simping over them! But please, do not send anything overly graphic. This is not an 18+ blog. I am a minor, and I’m not comfortable with graphic stuff like that.

I’m okay with y’all saying something like “I’d smash” bc that’s not graphic, it’s just silly and fun.

I want to keep this blog relatively safe for the younger audiences I know I have, and I want to keep it comfortable for me. Thank you for your understanding! I love you all!

Hey! It seems like this person doesn’t want to respect others' Terms of Use (TOU), claiming that according to EA’s policy, everyone has access to custom content (CC) regardless of any creator’s TOU. Yet, ironically, she has her own TOU in place. Jocelyn, I’m not going to show respect if you don’t. While EA may have rights over CC, that doesn’t mean we shouldn’t respect each other’s TOU—it just means there's always a risk someone might not follow it. BTW, paywalling content is wrong, but taking someone’s CC and getting defensive about it is just as equally wrong.

If you want to make your oc suffer and not like them get help, you deserve to lose rights over them. Especially if you only do that stuff to purposely trigger people. Once you do that, your oc no longer belongs to you. they belong to the public who will take better care of them instead

I genuinely do mean this as a way to provide support and love but it's also me just telling y'all that at the end of the day, you are what connects any potential new audence to the channels you make stuff for.

Speaking as someone who has seen it, if no one makes stuff for your shit or talks about it, it's disheartening and makes it harder for people to reach you and to get yourself known.

Lotta people don't wanna admit that but try for all they want, fan content powers creators in more ways than anyone thinks which is why it's important to acknowledge fan creators because they are what help people see that something is interesting and cool and something they might wanna get into.

Do not let anyone and I mean ANYONE, tell you that's not so because it is. You are helping to run a community and more people should be respectful to and acknowledge you for the free service you provide everytime you choose to share your work with the world.
