MOODBOARD
CHARACTERISTICS: Ambitious, creative, friendly, kind, competitive, chatty, self-assured, mildly vain, dreamy, determined, protective, musical, desperately tries to be elegant and refined, somehow both extremely confident and not confident at all
LIKES: Performing, living in the city, wearing costumes, spending time with Ray and her daughters, babies, chocolate, Mandy Patinkin, Disney movies, Halloween, spooky stories
DISLIKES: The Spenglers (from 1993-2021), losing, Daisy Eagan (for "stealing" the Tony Award for Best Featured Actress in a Musical in 1991), altos, camping
WEAPON OF CHOICE:
Her rep book
Her makeup collection
Her wardrobe
Her impressive mezzo/soprano mix belting voice
Her dancing skills
OTHER PERSONAL INFO:
During summers in her last two years of high school, she performed for tourists in Branson, Missouri, living with her Aunt Gracie.
She met Cathleen Spengler when they were in an off-off Broadway production of Kiss Me, Kate; Cathleen was playing Katharine/Lilli Vanessi and Willow was playing Bianca/Lois Lane. The two struck up a friendship, and shortly after Cathleen gave birth to her second daughter Marie, she introduced Willow to her friend Ray Stantz. After a whirlwind courtship, the two tied the knot on Halloween 1990.
She was nominated for Best Featured Actress in a Musical at the Tony Awards in 1991 for her role as Sister Ruth in a musical adaptation of Black Narcissus, but lost to Daisy Eagan.
She would later win Best Leading Actress in 2001 for her role as Polly Kern in Red as the Curtain, a Drowsy Chaperone-style vaudeville satire mixed with the blood and guts of Chicago.
Both of her pregnancies were rough-- her pregnancy with Addison was especially uncomfortable and the labor/delivery was fraught with complications, while during her pregnancy with Natalie, she was still dealing with the emotional fallout of the Spenglers' perceived betrayal.
INSPIRATION: Glinda Upland (Wicked), Ivy Lynn (Smash), Elliot Reid (Scrubs), Effie Newsome (Murdoch Mysteries), Cathy Hiatt (The Last Five Years), Erika (Barbie as the Princess and the Pauper), Jenny Lind (The Greatest Showman/Barnum), Wendy Darling (The New Adventures of Peter and Wendy)

⚠ Want all to be aware there is more to GA Family, née GAC, than G-rated Christmas movies. Though I’m including dates and details here in the spirit of being a completist, worth noting the funding and founding of this channel, which comes from the Donald Trump-aligned Hicks Equity Group, brings with it an explicit anti-diversity agenda, hiding under guise of harmless sounding words like “family-friendly” and “safe” programming. More detailed explanation here (bottom of page), and additional more recent thoughts, for those who want it. And if you’re looking for outside sources on GAF’s political affiliations and lack of inclusion, see these stories from The Daily Beast, Vulture, the L.A. Times and Bloomberg.

rich people need to be stopped
generally speaking, but i want to talk about nepo babies and music.
this isn't a new discussion, we have all heard about king princesses great grandpa who founded macys and died on the titanic, and yeah, even if they didn't receive any sort of inheritance as they claim, there is still some generational wealth that allowed their dad to become a sound engineer and start his own business, which allowed king to get musical training and record music and blah blah blah.
but i don't want to talk about king princess i want to talk about this band called Lawrence.
specifically, these two: Clyde and Gracie Lawrence.
you may have seen them across other social media platforms. they identify as an R&B/soul group...
and they all look like this. which i guess is fine, live your truth.
but what is really interesting is the way they market themselves.
They often describe their collective as "just some siblings and friends making music." and it is really easy to take this at face value considering none of the members have their own wikipedia pages, despite the band having been established for over a decade.
However, if you go to the bands wikipedia page you can learn about The Lawrence Family.
What is the significance of the Lawrence Family? Clyde and Gracie's father is Marc Lawrence. Who's Marc Lawrence?
Marc Lawrence is a well established screen writer, producer, and director. His portfolio is massive and includes works such as Miss Congeniality and Did You Hear About the Morgans amongst other Sandra Bullock and Hugh Grant collaborations. Suffice to say-- this guy is loaded.
This guy-- Marc Lawrence-- also has a habit of including his children in his work. When Marc was working on Miss Congeniality, he claims that Clyde (at age five) actually wrote the pageant song, thus making him the youngest ever inducted member of the Song Writers Guild of America. Good on you Clyde. From that point on, as a child, Clyde composed several songs for several of his father's movies, and Gracie acted in several of them.
Both Clyde and Gracie attended the prestigious Dalton School on the upper east side of Manhattan, and both of them went on to study at Brown, where Clyde eventually formed his band "the Clyde Lawrence Band" (classy).
But okay whatever, rich kids gonna rich.
Here's the part that i really feel is so insidious. As i've mentioned before, neither Clyde nor Gracie have their own wikipedia pages, EVEN THOUGH they have both been established in the film industry since childhood. I cannot comprehend how the youngest ever member of the Song Writers Guild of America and his child star sister are able to evade the all powerful forces of wikipedia and yet somehow they have managed.
What is doubly insidious is that their newest single is called "23," and it was released this year. The entire song is sung from Gracie's perspective, and the chorus goes:
"you said that 23 would be the best year,
well i'm 23 and that's a lie.
you said that 23 would be our best year,
but at 23 you said goodbye."
and all the marketing around this song has been birthday themed, as if to insinuate that Gracie Lawrence is 23 now, wrote the song as a 23 year old, reflecting on presently being 23.
and listen that's not me reading too far into it
that's
literally
what they are doing.
What's bonkers about this is i'm 23 right now. I graduated high school in 2018 and i graduated college in 2021. Gracie Lawrence graduated high school in 2015, took a gap year, and was set to graduate from Brown in 2021. So unless Gracie Lawrence skipped three grades in school, which seems unlikely considering that while she was in school she was also acting and touring with her brothers band...she's not 23, she's at least 26.
AND THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH BEING 26, BUT THERE IS DEFINITELY SOMETHING WEIRD ABOUT GOING OUT OF YOUR WAY TO MAKE YOUR ACTUAL AGE DIFFICULT TO FIND ONLINE AND MARKETING YOURSELF AS A QUIRKY GIRL IN YOUR EARLY 20s.
which brings me to my next point. their wardrobe.
people can dress how ever they want, but the outfit choices made by clyde and gracie feel deliberate in two ways.
A.) Gracie's outfits look like they are meant to age her down:
it's a lot of school girl outfits and cheerleading uniforms and shit. furthering my theory that they are trying to make her actual age difficult to discern
B. their outfits are but ugly.
not to be a bully, but i'm going to be a bully here, because they can take it. They are poor-baiting. their outfits are all mismatched, sized wrong, generally thrift store coded. As above you can see gracie has no problem wearing boxy shirts and mixing patterns.
if we examine clyde's wardrobe we see a lot of jerseys, faded t shirts, ball caps, and sneakers.
again, it's all very boxy, casual, not as uncoordinated as gracie's attire, but still it maintains this blue-collar image.
also
this isn't related to anything, i've just seen this outfit so many times on social media and it makes me want to tear my hair out.
their lyrics also hold evidence of poor-baiting, for instance, this song "i'm confident that i'm insecure", which boasts the opening lines:
"well shucks,
i think i need to go to therapy,
but i'm tough,
so i'm just gonna cry in bed for free"
But why wouldn't they want to be perceived as poor? If you're going to call yourself a soul artist or a soul group, you need something to be soulful about. You need to have life experience or else your callowness will shine through in your shallow, heavy handed, tiktok lyrics.
I guess my whole point is... these people are freaks. I think it's difficult enough that the pop genre and other major media is over saturated with the children of last generations famous/grotesquely wealthy. It's bad enough that we normals have to live with the fact that we will never have the time or resources to reach success that these millionaires have. it's bad enough that these two definitely went into that pizza place to have a photo shoot and they have definitely never set foot in a cheap by the slice pizza place earnestly.
But you're telling me that with all those resources, with all the training, the ivy league educations, and all of daddy's money...
the lawrence siblings couldn't have found a single black person to stand as a major member of their soul ensemble???

Wow! Thanks for sharing, they look great! When did you get them all done? Did you plan them or was it random? And how much did they cost? Sorry for all the questions, I'm just really curious.
No worries! I don't mind at all! They were all kind of random and only partially planned.
My first lobes were a gift for my 16th birthday in 2010. Next was my industrial in 2015 and it was $75. My second lobes were free since I volunteered to be the practice dummy for the jewelry counter at Macy's before they started offering piercings and I worked there at the time in 2017. Then I got my 3rd lobes and top 2 helixes on the left in 2018 and they were $80 total. Next was my tragus and daith in 2019 and I think the guy charged $50 each. Then came the 4 connecting my lobes to my helixes on the left in 2021 and they were $200 total. Last was my septum in 2022 and it was $60.
I don't really plan them out, it's kind of more like I look at what I have and how something new will fit in. Something like my septum or the eyebrow piercing I want to get has to be more thought out since I live with my grandparents and they are very traditional/conservative. They've tried to get me to take my piercings out in the past. Otherwise I figure out what I want, wait a while just to be sure I actually want another piercing at the time, and go get it done.

happiest of happy birthdays to one of the most incredible people i have ever met! i’m going to get sappy on main and tell you that befriending you two years ago was one of the best decisions i’ve ever made, because it gave me a person i would happily eat a piece of cheesecake for — a person i would fight off a hundred thousand snakes for. you make me laugh every single day of my life, and you’re one of the most talented, creative people i’ve ever had the pleasure of knowing; in fact, getting to create stories and characters together has been one of the highlights of my life. most importantly, though, you are an incredible friend, and an even better person. i hope you have the best birthday possible, because you deserve it AND the world. i love you (and so does earl)!!!!! 💜♥️🎉🎁🎈
c’mere lemme smooch you on the mouth (covid compliant)

B!D’s Birthday HC’s
- December 5th 2021 was B!D’s birthday.
- On Saturday the day before her birthday she went to brunch with all the Superfriends.
- On Sunday, B!D’s actual birthday she was woken up way too early in the morning by Kara and Alex with birthday hugs, kisses, and a cinnamon roll with her new age on it.
- After speaking with Eliza on the phone B!D and her sisters met Lena and Nia before heading to New York for the day.
-When they got to the city they met up with Joe (B!D’s best friend who lives in Nashville).
- They started off by going to Macy’s to look at the holiday displays and then went and got hot dogs for lunch. Everybody else had one while Kara had 3.
- The group then went to Rockefeller center to see the tree and go ice skating.
- Lena made reservations at B!D’s favorite NY restaurant where they gave B!D her birthday gifts. Every year she tells her friends and family she doesnt need any gifts but they don’t listen.
- And lastly, they went to see the Christmas show at Radio City music hall before flying back to National City.

Transcript:
Nothing makes me happier than to be done with Panacea FOR GOOD. They are a bunch of snakes. The deplorable state of our healthcare system is the way it is because of companies like them. There's so much I could say but I know that little rat Declan will track me down and sue me so let me just say this. It comes as a surprise to no one that they're keeping valuable medical research under wraps because it's not profitable. One example? When I was there, we discovered treatment for Huntington's effectively cured Rhodes in many test subjects. When we shared this with the VP, he terminated the project the next day. Guess it meant money out of his pocket. Fuck them.

happy birthday @helloyona
[Image Description: Ten stacked gifs from various CW shows.
First: From Roswell, New Mexico. Max is strapped to a chair while Liz gently touches his leg. There is text on the gif which reads, “But you’re not perfect. I see your faults. And I love you. Easily. You believe in the good in me when I can’t see it. So, is it so crazy that I believe in you too? Without evidence. I just… know.”
Second: From Batwoman. Sophie and Ryan sit on the ground, close to each other. Sophie grabs Ryan’s hand. There is text on the gif which reads, “I keep people at arm’s length. I’ve lost a lot of people in my life and I’m scared to death to lose anyone else. So I don’t let people in, and the whole superhero thing gives me an excuse to keep doing that. / I get it. I won’t push. / You don’t have to.”
Third: From Nancy Drew. George kisses Nick on the cheek as she takes a photo of them. There is text on the gif which reads, “No matter what tries to get in our way, I am never saying goodbye to you. In this life or the next.”
Fourth: From Charmed. Macy and Harry are having dinner at a fancy restaurant. There is text on the gif that reads, “I thought about what you said… about not being able to feel, about not be able to love fully. I love you as fully as I know how, Macy. With every bone in my body.”
Fifth: From 4400. Claudette and Jharrel hug. There is text on the gif that reads, “We get outta this and I’m taking you feather bowling, all right? We’re gonna do this right. / You already did everything right.
Sixth: From Kung Fu. Nicky cups Henry’s neck. There is text on the gif that reads, “We both have our pasts, things we don’t know about each other, but it doesn’t matter. You asked me to trust you, and… I do.”
Seventh: From 4400. Shanice leans again Andre as he gently rubs her arm. There is text on the gif that reads, “I’m trying to be just as laissez-faire so I don’t scare you away, but… perhaps I don’t belong in 2021. Because I don’t want to share you, not even in your subconscious mind.”
Eighth: From Batwoman. Mary is administering a health test on Luke. There is text on the gif which reads, “It’s me and you in the Batcave, Luke. We need you. I need you.”
Ninth: From Kung Fu. Dennis stands behind Althea as they look at themselves in the mirror and he smiles at her. There is text on the gif that reads, “How do we know we’ll last if we’ve never really been tested? / Althea… I don’t need to be tested. I know I’d love you just as much if you were head to toe in burlap and we were eating out of a dumpster.”
Tenth: From Nancy Drew. Nelson takes off his coat and puts it around Nancy’s shoulders, surprising her. There is text on the gif that reads, “Nancy, I knew that if I kissed you… I wouldn’t be able to stop. / So don’t stop.”]

#KimickaPhotoADay December Day 30: Reflect 🤔☺️ Well, well, well, would you look at that. There's just one day of 2021 left. This year has been a mixed bag, for sure. Overall, everyone says it's an extension of 2020, and while, yeah, both years have been pretty bad (that snowpocolype in February wasn't fun(though I did enjoy the first day of playing in the snow lol), there have also been some pretty great moments too. From Taylor Swift releasing both Fearless (Taylor's Version) & Red (Taylor's Version) to Taeyeon releasing Weekend to Girls' Generation's reunion on You Quiz and Girls' Generation's subunit Oh!GG releasing Melody on the SMTown winter album. From getting the Covid vaccine to a power outage leading to me getting everything I wanted for my birthday. From Valentine's Day traditions to Easter brunch to Christmas in July to decorating cookies for Halloween to watching the Macy's Day Parade & roasting a 25lb Turkey (for just 6 people) on Thanksgiving to a magical Christmas. From a fun-filled family reunion trip to Galveston (saw my best friend in person for the first time in 2 years when they came to cat sit for us) to a Christmas Magic filled trip to the DFW area to visit The Christmas Capital of Texas (Grapevine). To cute cats. To me winning a Signed copy of Fearless (Taylor's Version) & two Capitol One Taylor Swift sweepstakes (one for Fearless (TV) one for Red (TV)). I had two KimickaPhotoADay Challenges. I maintained a 107 (and counting) day streak on Duolingo. Spent a lot of time on TikTok. Completed Vlogmas (Link In Bio 😉 ). Uploaded a video to YouTube at least once a month (My Monthly Most Listened Artists series). 2021 may have not been the best year overall, but I had a pretty good one, if you ask me. I'm looking forward to 2022 (I don't know about you, but I'm already feeling 2022 😉 ). #reflect #reflecting #whatayear #memories #myface #me #taylorswift #snsd #girlsgeneration #taeyeon #valentinesday #imfeeling2022 #easter #birthday #halloween #thanksgiving #christmas #macythanksgivingdayparade #taylorsversion #galveston #grapevine #tiktok #duolingo #throwback #throwbackthursday #templateapp #photo #photoaday #photoadaychallenge https://www.instagram.com/kimicka13/p/CYIpkauMBaa/?utm_medium=tumblr

2016: I wish I had gotten closer to people on my study abroad. But my roommate was nice and I still talk to her every so often, so that’s cool. A note on last year, I’m glad I didn’t end up living with the friends I was thinking about living with because their apartment got condemned and they had to move to a suburb and commute to school, then one got a girlfriend and moved out and the other one is with her boyfriend a lot so I would have been stuck all by myself out in the middle of nowhere

2021 Bates Predictions
I meant to get this up ages ago but I’ve been busy and only decided to properly start following the Bateses in the past couple of weeks. I had already written my predictions for Josie and Tori’s pregnancies. Putting this up no before anyone else announces.
Zach and Whitney - Welcome a baby boy in June. Nothing else
Michaela and Brandon - May explore adoption with the support of their family.
Erin and Chad - I’m expecting them to announce a pregnancy anytime now with a baby boy born mid to late summer. They finally get a bigger house.
Lawson - Announces courtship with Tiffany Espensen
Nathan - Announces courtship with Esther Keyes. Engagement this year, marriage in 2022.
Alyssa and John - Obviously welcome Maci. Nothing else.
Tori and Bobby - Announce third pregnancy before Kolter’s birthday. Baby girl born June/July. Baby #4 conceived in December.
Trace - If Lawson announces his courtship with Tiffany then I think Trace will make it his mission to find a girl. Speculation about a potential courtship in the final quarter of the year but no announcement until next year.
Carlin and Evan - Announce they’re expecting #2 in the first quarter of 2021. Baby will be a girl and born in the summer/early autumn. House move.
Josie and Kelton - Announce they’re pregnant with their second child in Jan/Feb. Baby girl born in June.
Katie - Gets engaged to Travis with a long engagement of at least a year.
Jackson to Jeb - nothing
General
Another season or 2 of Bringing Up Bates
More of them get covid
