As someone new to the omegaverse scene, this book was definitely out of my comfort zone and took some getting used to, but I’m really glad that I read it!

“The Fake Mate” follows Mackenzie Carter and Noah Taylor, two wolf shifters who agree to be fake mates in a mutually beneficial business transaction. But when the fake-mate act turns into a friends-with-benefits situation, lines start to blur, and it becomes impossible to ignore their wolfish urges.

I could not get enough of Noah and Mackenzie’s grumpy alpha x sunshine omega dynamic. They have an irresistible bond and watching them come to that realization while they pretend to be mates at the hospital they both work at…absolute perfection.

The dual points-of-view in this book are so good. Noah and Mackenzie both internally struggle with how they are perceived by others because of their designations - it was realistic within the context of the world and brought them closer together as they helped each embrace their alpha and omega characteristics.

One qualm I had with this book is the pacing of Noah and Mackenzie’s relationship in the second half of the book. The beginning starts off slow as the two get to know each other and try to ignore their attraction. Once they become physically intimate, however, the pacing picks up and the storyline became a bit too spicy for my tastes. The character’s chemistry and their romantic tension, however, made that easy to overlook.

If you’re looking to dip your toes into the omegaverse, I recommend giving this book a try!

Thank you, genuinely, so much, for this correction. I'm very sorry for the mistake. Review:

Two wolf shifters agree to be fake mates but what started off as a way to get people off their backs begins to feel very much like falling in love. Mackenzie Carter has been going on bad dates and she's tired of her Grandmother obsessing over her settling down. Mackenzie just wants to focus on her career in the hospital and avoid dating as much as possible, so when she lies to her grandmother and says she has a boyfriend... she accidentally uses the name of the one doctor that she'll have the worst time convincing to be her fake boyfriend, Noah Taylor. Noah Taylor is the interventional cardiologist and a bit of a misanthrope, he's known as the biggest grump in the hospital and people avoid him as much as possible, yet he's a genius and a wonderful doctor.... but he's hiding his own secret. Noah is an unmated Alpha, and someone snitched on him to the board of directors at the hospital and his job is on the line if he can't convince them he has a mate and doesn't have any legendary alpha rage issues. So when Mackenzie's proposal literally lands in his lap, he offers her a counter deal, she pretends to be his mate while he gets the board off his back and in return he'll help keep guys away from her and pretend to be her boyfriend for her grandma. Noah and Mack are complete opposites, she's fun and sunshiny while he's grumpy and a bit of a bore, yet the more time they spend pretending to be a couple the more they are actually beginning to fall for one another... and you know that once you try being friends with benefits... things are only going to get more complicated. Can Mack and Noah figure out who tried to get Noah fired while also figuring out their fake/real relationship situation? This was such a fun and cute read, Noah and Mack were a cute fake dating couple and I had so much fun with the grumpy x sunshine and fake dating tropes in this one. It's a fun paranormal romance and I would definitely recommend it.

March 1st 1682 saw the Advocate’s Library opened by its founder, Sir George Mackenzie, the Lord Advocate.

The Advocates Library, is the law library of the Faculty of Advocates, in Edinburgh. It served as the national deposit library of Scotland until 1925, at which time through an Act of Parliament was created the National Library of Scotland. All the non-legal collections were given to the National Library. Today, it alone of the Scottish libraries still holds the privilege of receiving a copy of every law book entered at Stationers’ Hall.

The Advocates Library is the library of the Faculty of Advocates. It is widely regarded as the finest working law library in the British Isles. It contains a comprehensive range of materials built up over more than three hundred years. The present library, seen in the picture,was designed by William Henry Playfair in 1830, and is a category A listed building.The library forms part of the complex that includes Parliament House, including the High Courts, located on the Royal Mile behind St Giles.

Famous keepers of the library down the years has included David Hume, Adam Ferguson, and Margaret Kidd, the first and only female, who held the post from 1956 till 1970.

Thank you, genuinely, so much, for this correction. I'm very sorry for the mistake. I create these guides between work assignments (I work from home, around the clock, trying to make ends meet in this mess of an economy) and didn't do my due diligence in double-checking every book. I think this started as an aro/ace list I was compiling and I tried to separate it into two guides. I apologize for the discrepancy vehemently and will strive to do better in the future. I’m a sucker for well-written omegaverse, so this was a fun read! Comparable to some of the higher end of a/b/o fics on Ao3. Mackenzie (aka Mack) as the female lead was very likable. Fake dating + “not friends to friends to lovers” shenanigans were well-executed. Would recommend if you’re looking to turn off your brain for a bit (which indeed I was).
