Spoilers, so don’t read until you’ve seen the season 3 finale of MacGyver 2016 on CBS

Basically, stream of consciousness. Inaccuracies also very possible.

HOLY FUCK THAT EPISODE.

Emotional KABOOM for Mac tenfold. Charlie, innocent lives, Charlie, CHARLIE, bombs, CHARLIE!!!!, and then Jim.

Don’t get me started on Jim.

I really have to rewatch to get the full understanding of what the FUCK just happened - because Jim. I want to know the whole story. It’s all been described in very cryptic wording - vague wording. And I get that Mac wouldn’t be happy about how his father dealt with that particular situation - but was it when Mac was in the Army? DXS? Phoenix? Obviously this was BEFORE Matty became director because she had NO IDEA. And no one knew who Oversight was until 2018, so this was definitely pre-2016 show, so scratch Phoenix. But at the same time - I’m confused. And that must be where the cliffhanger comes in, because other than Mason escaping and Mac not getting payback for Charlie’s death, there is the emotional cliffhanger between father and son.

And I feel like it was barely a cliffhanger. Because no one likes Jim (I said I tolerated him), and if he dropped of the face of the earth pretty sure Mac would care less. They were trying to be more truthful to each other - and Mason brought up this secret. But how many times has Jim sent Mac into the field (without him knowing it was his father doing it, being Oversight) in a multitude of danger? And how many innocent people have died for Mac before? This can’t have been the first and/or ONLY time that happened, because let’s be honest, it’s a secret government agency. There are ops we don’t know about or even talked about. Like, WTF HAPPENED IN CAIRO?! WE STILL DON’T KNOW. That’s beside the point - I mean to say that innocent people have died before. Zoe isn’t an appropriate mention, but it certainly brought up those feelings.

Oh, and we are so never getting why Desi owes Jack, I mean, the writers tease it like Cairo but we will never know.

BUT OMG CHARLIE. NOOOOOOO. I NEED MY CHARLIE. I NEED FLASHBACKS, I NEED ARMY DAYS AND CHARLIE AND MAC.

If my life wasn’t already busy enough with my MacGyver novel, school, work, and emotional distress otherwise, I’d write something. Gonna have to think about it.

UGH. So many questions not answered. Even though this season had a slight theme - father son relationship. Which went crashing and BURNING at the end.

Good GOD Jim. (even though I am 99.9999% sure there are many more ‘secrets’, like, I still don’t understand half of my parents life before I was born. It isn’t secrets, it’s just - fact?)

Riley - oh Riley. You were amazing this episode. She is SO Mac’s sister, it hurts. Tristin ACED this season!

LUCAS - YOU ARE A BRILLIANT ACTOR. I CANNOT. All of your facial expressions literally broke me. 110%. I love you. You were amazing this season!!!!!

I just loved Mere and Tate. Those two make me happy!

Also, MATILDA WEBBER WAS SUCH SASS THIS EPISODE. I truly loved it. She’s such a demander. GAH. I love her!!!

It’s gonna be one long summer haha. At least we got season 4!

Cheers to the ENTIRE cast! To Lucas, Mere, Justin, Tristin, Levy, Emerson, Tate, David D., Peter L., the entire supporting cast and wonderful crew, and just every fan - I’m so glad I found this fandom, found this show. I am truly blessed.
