We’ve just arrived after a 10-hour train journey, and I’m super tired. I’ll be using these products tomorrow to make sure that I look wide awake!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
plus an open-eye lash map...
Tula ‘Glow & Get It’ eye balm: this has such a cooling effect on my eyes and instantly makes everything look brighter, tighter, and more awake.
Clarins ‘Cryo-Flash’ mask: I love this mask, it’s my not-so-secret weapon. It cools and depuffs, and makes my skin glowy and poreless.
MAC Strobe Cream: I think this is intended as more of a highlighter, but I use it like a primer on days when my skin is irrevocably dull.
Shiseido ‘Revitalessence’ foundation: this is the best foundation ever for a very soft, natural glow. It has sheer coverage, but it evens everything out just enough.
Charlotte Tilbury ‘Magic Vanish’ corrector: this is my favourite all-in-one for dark circles. It’s creamy and doesn’t crease, and the shade is pink enough to cover up dark circles, but pale enough to not need concealer on top.
YSL ‘Touche Éclat’: the best ever for adding a little natural lift and glow to any dark or droopy part of the face.
Stila ‘Shimmer & Glow’ liquid eyeshadow: I love that this is an all-over product, and I can apply this with my fingertip and no primer and it still stays well. The shade ‘Kitten’ is enough to give my eyes a dewy sort of sparkle which somehow still looks natural.
Dr PawPaw red ointment: a tiny, tiny amount of this rubbed into my lips is enough to moisturise and give the most natural flush of colour to distract from tired eyes—and it stays put!
Bourjois waterproof kohl: a cool silver kohl on my lower waterline and in the inner corners of my eyes is a finishing touch when I need to look extremely bright and alert.

I felt ugly today, like all of my efforts to not feel ugly were in vain. I think it was cos my hair was so limp, since I stripped the life out of it with my weekly oil treatment.
Im really not sure what the oil treatment is doing, but that doesn’t mean I’m ever going to stop it. I like the idea of putting exotic oil on myself and waking up a tropical deity.
And I tried to have a cute summer outfit but I just don’t like the shirt as much as I thought I did — it’s too short on the bottom so it kinda looks like it doesn’t fit me. I like my shirts one size up so it looks like I have shoulders. Otherwise I look like Timothee in this meme
Tumblr media
Im also reigniting my obsession with highlighters
Tumblr media
Like this picture is really haunting me.
I’ve been eyeing up the Elf highlighter for a while now, and I’ve put it in the budget to buy it next week.
I also want to tidy up my CD collection in my car because most of them I never listen to.
Back to highlighters, though, I realise that I already have quite a few.
In powder, I have Albatross, Capri, a KA one from the contour duo, and one in a Nars cheek palette. Then I have the CT liquid, KA gloss in blue and gold and Mac strobe cream. That’s 8 highlighting products. When will enough be enough?
Im really just searching for a highlighter that makes me feel whole inside — and I have faith that they exist. I really do think the elf one is it, that’s why I keep thinking back to it. It was the perfect level of sparkly and natural.
I guess I just have fond memories of applying it in streaks with an eyeshadow brush in the school bathrooms. Truly iconic moments.
I do miss my school makeup, when it was just fun and rebellion and I honestly didn’t care what I looked like and I was just putting random stuff on my face knowing that it wasn’t affecting the way anyone saw me.
At uni, though, I feel like every day I see new people and I have to make a good impression, so showing up with smudged eyeliner and streaky highlighter isn’t possible anymore.
I guess I just miss the time when I didn’t question my makeup or feel so insecure about it like I do now. I owned it and I didn’t care if you disapproved.
I mean maybe I did.
Actually I do remember complaining to my mum how the guys wouldn’t talk to me and she said it was cos I wore makeup. Actually yeah so maybe I wasn’t as fearless as I make myself believe..

Glowing Skin Strobe Cream
Strobe cream, a multifaceted makeup product in the beauty industry, is renowned for its ability to impart a radiant glow to the skin. As a versatile cosmetic, it serves a dual purpose by moisturizing the skin while also offering a luminous sheen that adds a dewy, fresh look.
Initially introduced by MAC Cosmetics, strobe cream has become a staple in many makeup routines due to its unique qualities. What sets it apart is its capacity to act as a primer, moisturizer, and illuminator, all in one. Packed with vitamins, antioxidants, and iridescent particles, strobe cream not only hydrates the skin but also reflects light to create a natural, lit-from-within radiance.
One of its primary functions is to prep the skin before makeup application. When used as a primer, strobe cream smoothens the skin's texture, allowing foundation and other makeup products to glide on effortlessly. Its hydrating properties ensure that makeup sits well on the skin, preventing any patchiness or dryness that can occur with some cosmetics.
Furthermore, strobe cream can be used as a highlighter to accentuate specific areas of the face. Dabbed onto the high points such as the cheekbones, bridge of the nose, and cupid's bow, it adds a subtle shimmer that catches and reflects light, creating a luminous finish. Its versatility allows for both a natural, everyday glow and a more intensified, glamorous look, depending on the amount applied.
The formulation of strobe creams varies, catering to different skin types and preferences. Some are infused with ingredients like botanical extracts, hyaluronic acid, or even pearl particles to enhance the skin's luminosity. Additionally, they come in various shades, from sheer pinks to golden hues, accommodating diverse skin tones and preferences for the desired level of radiance.
The application of strobe cream is flexible, offering multiple techniques to achieve the desired effect. It can be blended with foundation for an all-over glow, mixed with a moisturizer for a subtle daytime radiance, or layered on specific areas for a targeted highlight. Its versatility makes it suitable for various makeup styles, from natural, minimalistic looks to bold and dramatic ones.
Beyond its cosmetic benefits, strobe cream has gained popularity for its skincare properties. Many formulations contain nourishing ingredients that promote skin health, providing an additional layer of hydration and protection against environmental stressors.
When incorporating strobe cream into a makeup routine, it's essential to start with a small amount and build up gradually to achieve the desired level of luminosity. Its lightweight texture allows for seamless blending without feeling heavy or greasy on the skin.
In essence, strobe cream has revolutionized the way individuals approach makeup application. Its multifunctional nature, combining skincare benefits with cosmetic enhancement, has made it a favorite among makeup enthusiasts and professionals alike. Whether used as a primer, highlighter, or moisturizer, its ability to impart a natural, radiant glow makes it a coveted addition to any beauty collection.

On the back of the chat about his make up and the primers, do you have any that you would recommend? I’m always looking for a good primer? I have normal/dry skin. Recently got a good skin care routine down & still feel my make up can slip off my face(especially the nose) or get patchy - if that makes sense?
sorry if this is annoying, I just seen you guys talking about it and thought I would ask! 🥰 love your blog, I found it during the very early DA days and you’ve been a no1 to follow since then
So I’m personally not a huge fan of primers. However, I do find there are times when necessary. I get what you mean about the nose. That is my problem area. For that I love the the Milk HydroGrip. It’s a sticky foundation and really clings to the makeup.
I don’t know if I would consider the Charlotte Tilbury Hollywood Flawless filter as a primer, but that’s another go to of mine for the high points of the face. Or the MAC Strobe Cream (RIP SilverLight)

What is Strobe Cream?
Strobe Cream is a specialized type of illuminating moisturizer and primer that was first introduced by the renowned makeup brand MAC Cosmetics. It quickly gained popularity among makeup artists and beauty enthusiasts for its ability to provide a natural, luminous sheen to the skin. The term "strobe" refers to the technique of using light to highlight and enhance certain features, and that's precisely what this cream does to your face.
The Magic of Strobe Cream for the Face
Radiant Glow: The primary purpose of Illuminating Strobe Cream is to impart a radiant glow to your skin. It contains light-reflecting particles that catch and bounce off light, giving your complexion an ethereal and youthful luminosity. The result is a natural, lit-from-within glow that looks stunning in both natural and artificial lighting.
Hydration and Nourishment: Strobe cream for face is not just about adding shimmer; it's also a moisturizer that helps to hydrate and nourish your skin. Packed with essential vitamins, antioxidants, and botanical extracts, it provides a surge of hydration, leaving your skin plump, soft, and supple.
Prepares the Canvas: When used as a primer, Strobe Cream creates a smooth base for foundation and other makeup products. It fills in fine lines and pores, allowing your foundation to glide on effortlessly and last longer. The illuminating properties of the cream also add an extra dimension to your makeup look.
Versatility: One of the best things about Strobe Cream is its versatility. It comes in various shades, catering to different skin tones and undertones. You can use it on its own for a fresh, no-makeup look, mix it with your foundation for an all-over radiance, or apply it strategically to the high points of your face as a highlighter.
Choosing the Right Strobe Cream
When buying Strobe Cream, consider the following factors:
Skin Type: Look for a Strobe Cream that suits your skin type. If you have dry skin, opt for a more hydrating formula, while those with oily skin may prefer a lightweight, oil-free option.
Shade: Strobe Creams come in various shades, including pink, gold, peach, and silver. Choose a shade that complements your skin tone for the most flattering effect.
Coverage: Some Strobe Creams offer a more subtle glow, while others provide a more intense highlight. Decide the level of radiance you desire based on your personal preference.
Ingredients: Check the ingredient list to ensure the product contains skin-loving ingredients like vitamins, antioxidants, and botanical extracts.
How to Use Strobe Cream
Using Strobe Cream is a breeze:
Cleanse: Start with a clean, moisturized face.
Apply Strobe Cream: Take a small amount of Strobe Cream and dot it on your forehead, cheeks, nose, and chin.
Blend: Gently blend the cream into your skin using your fingertips or a makeup sponge. Focus on the high points of your face where light naturally hits, like the cheekbones and brow bones.
Complete Your Look: You can wear Strobe Cream alone for a natural glow or follow it up with your foundation and makeup routine.
In Conclusion
If you're looking to achieve a luminous, radiant complexion, Strobe Cream is the answer. Its ability to provide hydration, illumination, and a flawless base makes it a game-changer in the beauty world. So, why wait?
