Jeremy nodded, figuring that Mabel and her folks informed Caleb on everything. He wouldn't expect anything less. He gave a short laugh before nodding a little. "Yeah. I'm sure that would've been a clue. Just glad no one made me out to be a deadbeat or something." Though, he never would've taken Mabel as someone who would do such a thing. He always harbored respect for her. "You're right, though. It does still stuck. There's nothing more I would've liked than to be there for you." @mabelxhughes

Mabel gave both her boys a smile, her hand brushing her son's back before she walked away to get them their drinks. She threw a look over her shoulder but looked away when she saw that they had decided to immediately strike up conversation. Some things Mabel shouldn't involve herself in, and she had to give them a chance to get things straight by themselves. That was the fairest option to the both of them, after all. So she would take her time, slowly walking to the coffee stand.

Caleb found himself looking at his father, fidgeting with the insides of his jacket pockets. He found himself nodding rather uneasily. Caleb was never unreasonable, and though he had been an angry child towards the absence of his father that had eventually triggered Mabel to tell him the truth, he'd found a place to keep it and come to terms with it. So when his identity was finally revealed, it made place for excitement and nervousness. "I know. That's what they told me." Caleb told Jeremy, referring to both his mother, grandparents and aunt. They had all been fond of Jeremy when Mabel was dating him and though Mabel's father had been angry at her unexpected pregnancy, he'd never spoken ill of his grandson's father. "I did give mom a hard time for it but.." Caleb shrugged, lowering his gaze. "Kind of always figured that if I wasn't to post pictures online, it had something to do with why you weren't there. I like his character! cinnamon roll, one of faves and very relatable.

he’s also a tough kid and far stronger than anyone gave him credit for. not just talking about physical strength, but mental strength as well. for example, his body survived the ordeal that Bill put it through, he managed to beat the multi-bear and, when a wolf was chewing his leg, he sat down and looked as if he felt nothing.

          ❛❛ Well I would say we could visit the MYSTERY SHACK , but my brother will be there. So I suggest heading back to my apartment , it’s smaller but it’s probably nicer and I have a wifi spot so it’s way better . ❜❜

She liked her apartment better anyway, It felt more like home than the shack did now . All her stuff was there , and she didn’t have to deal with people who didn’t trust her judgment ! Even if it mean she’d be alone it was still better. @virahgo

Season β AU #003 - Things That Happen

This is going to be everything else I remember from the dreams or have cooked up to connect it all in the Season β AU.

- Ren runs a barber shop, even though you’d think that’d be BDubs’ thing. I have no idea why you’d need or even want a barber shop in a blue jungle hell, but it was in the dream, so i’ll believe that Ren opens the service out of his makeshift house as more of a favor to his friends than a business, when it becomes apparent that hair management might be an issue. This is actually where the bit about Grian & “melting face-paints” comes from in the dream, though why Ren was painting faces in his “barber shop” is a mystery unto itself.

- Stress opens a bar/potion brewery, likely in support of her friends once they get something resembling group infrastructure up & running. The only reason I know this is because the dream had a scene in a completely wrecked building that seemed like a bar that had been thoroughly romped. The characters in the scene were actually Mabel Pines from Gravity Falls arguing over Pacifica Northwest with someone who my brain couldn’t decide between being Gideon Gleeful or Draco from Harry Potter (especially since Pacifica was his sister in this scenario for... some reason - dreams be weird, yo). In the context of Hermitcraft, I decided this was Stress having a physically confrontational argument & possibly even a fight with a villainous figure, which logically means it was either Hels or Ex. Beyond this, I have no context for the backstory behind this scene unless you can work out who Hels’/Ex’s “sister” would be.

- Someone builds themselves a massive house with multiple large floors & a spiral staircase. This is one of the bits that’s a bit fuzzy to explain, as it’s a bit where the dream drifted into “What if I was a member of Hermitcraft?” territory, & seemed to run on that assumption via creating non-existent scenarios from my real life & drawing plot points from the show Farscape, which I've been watching recently. Won’t go into some of the personal details, but there was a family reunion involved, as well as a baby getting dropped two floors off the spiral staircase & surviving without a scratch.

- Most of the above is probably non-canon to the AU - the exception being the design of the house - unless you can make that barrel of weirdness fit, but something that is canon to the AU is that my brain keeps telling me this house is the one that False built as her shelter base, & that Ren & Stress also live here as a result. In fact, I can see this being one of the major buildings that the Hermits build a settlement around once they all finally group up properly.

- And finally, False & Stress in superhero costumes. I don’t know how, when or even why this happens, but it came up in the dream. At this point i’m thinking that being in Season β makes the Hermits prone to sporadic but noteworthy bouts of slight supernaturally induced “cabin fever” or stupid antics you might expect from someone under the influence, which might explain some of the other stuff mentioned up to now. Regardless of that, though, Stress’ superhero gear is white with pink gloves, mask, boots, etc., while False’s is the same but white & blue. In fact, I could easily see False keeping the mask long term but turning it into a makeshift eye-patch to cover her not-eye so she can try & ignore the black hole in her face, as well as pretend she doesn’t see the shadows & flickers in the affected half of her vision.

And that’s everything I can remember for now (fingers crossed I didn’t forget anything I knew this morning before getting this far). I might recall other things later, but the point is that this, unlike the Voided AU - which I hope to get back to eventually - is something I won’t be updating unless the ideas come to me naturally or people send questions directly pertaining to it.

gravity falls — that was another name foreign to her ears. the diamond had only tagged along due to a request from the gem hybrid, all too aware that the crystal gems disapproved of her accompanying them on missions. this place was far more confusing than beach city and she had only just begun to get her bearings there. oh well, it was only a matter of time until the group she had arrived with noticed that she’d wandered off from the location she had been suggested to wait for them at. what was the point of standing around when she could’ve done that without warping to another... state as steven called it?

How I feel aboutthis character: I love mabel!! I love her so much!! I still quote heron the regular. I still quote a lot of gravity falls on the regularbut like, especially mabel. (mostly ‘soon, gabe bensen….’ fromsock opera and ‘I will save you for later!’ and ‘to freedom!’from little dipper) but she’s so enthusiastic and has suchpersonality and I don’t know how anyone could watch gravity fallsand not love her, or think she was irritating or shallow!! she’stwelve! she’s doing her best! she loves stuff!! and she’s(mostly) so unapologetic about it! SHE MADE FRIENDS WITH THE PIZZADELIVERY MAN IN THE FIVE MINUTES HE WAS AT THE DOOR but she’s also,clingy and loves what she has and the people in her life and the wayeverything is and puts up that excessively friendly front and I getthat.

Any/all the people Iship romantically with this character: lightly with pacifica, because, they are twelve, but, they’re good together. (i think fondly of them in the reunion falls au. good content.)

(   she/her   ) has been in kaos for (   one week   ). the (  twenty-three-year-old  ) is a ( editorial assistant & aspiring journalist  ) from (  strasbourg, france  ). people say they can be (   imprudent   ) but maybe that’s not too bad ‘cause they can also be (   adventuresome  ). whenever i think of them, i can’t help but think of (  blinking neon signs, everlasting summer sunsets, lipstick stains   ).  ·ﾟ✧  

hello hello !!  here’s a (  hopefully ) small introduction to kaos’ resident gay Mess™ , gwen / zeus !!   i’ve also put together some pages that i hope will facilitate things: this is her BIOGRAPHY,  STATISTICS   here you can find a  CONNECTIONS / WANTED PLOTS  ( && it goes without saying that they are open to all genders + i’m happy to brainstorm something for our characters from scratch and/or tailoring these however you guys like !!  ) 

trigger warnings: unwanted pregnancy, abandonment, child neglect, alcohol, smoking, drugs / other substances.

━━ 001. gwen lang was born unwanted. the circumstances surrounding her birth are unpropitious, so she is placed into the foster care system when she is but hours old. it takes a while before the first couple even comes forward ( most likely a pair looking to remedy their broken connection ), and afterward the placement does not click. so she’s back under the system’s care, and the tale repeats itself. the constant handing over and move from one ‘home’ to the other. there just comes a point where young gwen is incredibly crestfallen, already sensing that she will be moved in months time. she develops a habit of running away ( if she’s going to be alone, it should be on her own terms, right? ) 

━━ 002. once her chances are exhausted, she is warned against running away from the tutors’ care as she faces being thrown into a juvenile detention center. so she settles down with the last family, and eventually, she finds comfort and tranquility with them. it is a bumpy road, but it’s the first time she has a group of people to whom refer to as ‘family’. 

━━ 003. gwen truly has got a tonic of wildness running through her rather than blood. as a teenager, she is very involved in the school culture. she’s wicked smart, she's the fem soccer team captain, debate team captain and president of the student council. she’s got charisma to spare, so it’s normal to see her socializing with everyone. however, she lacks discipline. she is unorganized and impulsive, and begins to gravitate toward all things unhealthy. she does everything and becomes close to everyone (including those she shouldn’t have, all in the hopes of never feeling alone or abandoned ever again), preferring to have this over not having anything that provides comfort -- as short-lived as it is -- at all. there are absolutely no inhibitions or restraints on her behalf nor her family’s ---- it’s so much easier to excuse herself, garnish it with a smile, and do it all over again than halt it. 

━━ 004. all of gwen’s desire orbit around simplicity and satisfaction. but, as life would have it, the sudden realization that she is no longer a child hits her like a train. her family cuts her off ( good riddance bish ) and so she gets slapped with this overwhelming mix of uncertainty and frustration and despair, for she is now totally on her own with no clue as to how to get her life together. 

━━ 005. she ends up in kaos thanks to her job. growing up scarred by the system’s flaws, she develops this desire to shed a light on the matter by pursuing journalism. of course, it’s easier said than done: on one hand, she feels blessed for having found a job right up her alley working for a french publication, but on the other, she is just getting started and has to rise up to actually begin writing about her passions. tl;dr: she travels over to the island to write about for this paper. 

━━ PERSONALITY! gwen is someone who seeks enjoyment and pleasure in all things, places and people. she is a social butterfly, easily striking up others ( to trust them, though, that’s another thing ). she’s got this confidence and ease with people intertwined with a charm that truly give zeus’ authority a run for his money. she takes pride in her humor, but this can border on bluntness ( first flaw, strike one). surprisingly, she also wants to provide for others ( to provide for children like her who could not be raised in proper conditions in the crucial stages of their lives ( & this is zeus’ just side coming through ) // provide happiness and exciting experiences to others that may or may not give off a good impression about her ). but she is someone who does it using the wrong means. she’s so prone to annoyance and addictions and joining the wrong crowd ( and her aims might be misunderstood ). the main problem here is that she is Childish with capital C. she dislikes complex structures and complications, as well people confronting her with facts & trying to alter her way of life. there is an obnoxious stubbornness to her that goes hand in hand with this refusal to see the world as it is / confront the truth. her rocky road left her with a skill to be persistently cruel when she wants to ( as in, words = weapons ). she is immature to a dangerous extreme, and would need to acknowledge this fault and make her way toward becoming more responsible and open to actually healthy+pragmatic ideas. and, in true zeus fashion, she up until recently lived under this illusion that what she did had no consequence but boy Oh Boy was she wrong.
