fat. FAT. P H A T RANT INCOMING FOR ANYONE WHO CARES TO READ THIS NONSENSE CUZ @haldidoodh ASKED

That episode literally blasted the last of my serotonin into smithereens but TBH??? WHO AM I MAD AT I should have seen this coming this whole volume has been such a headache. I cant be bothered to type up a coherent rwde essay on everything that bothered me this episode so im just gonna copy and paste my earlier yelling here instead ;A;

Team Rwby was god awful in episodes 11-12. They’re so self-righteous, entitled, hypocritical and cocky as a team and it doesnt help that they all suck as individual characters nowadays (except for weiss but even she lost best-girl points this episode also lmao blake and yang aren’t even INDIVIDUALS anymore they’re just bumbleby). It was annoying at first but now its just infuriating how rwby thinks theyre always right with their uwu energy and think they can do whatever tf they want with ZERO CONSEQUENCES.

Basically any time there is a problem in this show they have Ruby uwu at it and its solved lol.

They kept giving ironwood shit for taking on this incredible burden SO THAT NOBODY ELSE WOULD HAVE TO and rather than offer any real solution they just kept going “but mantle” like okay?? But remnant??? Like obvi letting mantle rot is bad but HE WAS OPEN TO ANY HELPFUL SUGGESTIONS CUZ HES OBVI AT HIS WITTS END AND DOESNT LIKE THE IDEA EITHER but yeah they just proceed to be the fattest hypocrites by hiding secrets of their own after being all “no more secrets uwu” and WHEN THEY GOT EXPOSED THEY JUST WENT “>:[“ (yangs self-righteous little glare here pissed me off so much oof) especially when ironwood was laying everything out in the open to them from the start. AND ESPECIALLY WHEN THE SECRET WAS FKIN “OH YEAH SALEM CANT DIE LOL” They watched ironwood make every decision he did in hopes of beating Salem while KNOWING she couldnt die??? So literallY WHERE do they get off on screeching at him with their yOu doNt hAvE to Suffer In ManTle YOu doNt kNow whAt iTs liKe bs. Wtf made ruby distrust iw at the start anyway? Because he had a bunch of ships out? They kept this CRUCIAL piece of information from him because he seemed stressed out?? Like what made ruby keep the secret from him. Someone tell me.

And the fact that rwby beat the ace-ops makes no goddamned sense. The power-scaling in this show is non-existant. We finally got to meet some pro huntsmen in this universe who aren’t teachers but are actually on the job, but because we gotta move out of the way for that 👌🏽✨ Power Of Friendship✨ and ✨rwby is always right✨ they somehow managed to beat experienced huntsmen with YEARS in the field who’ve actually graduated school??? FARM BOI OSCAR WHOS *JUST* LEARNING HOW TO FIGHT MANAGED TO LAND A PUNCH ON NEO FKIN POLITAN??? Didnt neo dance circles around yang??? Yang, who punches for a living and also beat mercury and adam??? I cant yall (and the fact that he didnt even bother to sneak up on her this boi literally screamed “no!!” as he ran down a hallway and neo didnt even have time to blink??? Pls)

Ruby’s “you were the best, until you trained us :3” -for maybe 2 days before my team went dancing ruby sis shut right tf up pls my god is this line just so. UNEARNED. Training in a room for a short while does not simply grant you the years of field experience the ace ops have and whAT IS UP WITH HER TRYING TO REASON WITH HARIETT AFTER SAYING THAT COCKY LINE AND FIGHTING HER??? WHAT and also like. The entire idea of “the ops lost cuz they weren’t good friends and were bad at teamwork uwu” is just so dumb. Ur telling me this group of high ranking hunstmen who’ve most likely been working together for at least a few years didnt have teamwork down??? Learning to work together is the most BASIC concept for a team to learn!! Its like the first thing a team has to perfect!! If the ace ops are supposed to be the best of atlas you dont think the ops would have gotten something as fundemental as teamwork down?? I dont buy it. And who gives a shit if they dont hang out after work or take selfies with eachother. Being friends doesnt necessarily mean theyre great at working together. If they succeed at relying on eachother to watch their backs, to keep each other alive (in the words of hariett herself) then Id think theyd know how to protect eachother i.e WORK TOGETHER.

And for all the ✨friendship✨ and ✨going through so much with someone✨ talk rwby like to do, the show barely displays these people acting like friends. We’re constantly TOLD how great of friends this group is, but the actual CONTENT we are shown leaves a lot to be desired. Tell me the last time ruby and blake teamed up in a fight. Or weiss and blake. Or yang and weiss. What teamwork?? Yang only interacts with blake now and weiss is only ever allowed to interact with ruby. Has blake ever said nora or ren’s name out loud? Have jaune and yang ever held a conversation between just them? Team rwby just spent a GOOD DEAL of time seperated from eachother, but when they reunite their teamwork is still somehow better than the ace ops?? Honestly its easier to believe that ruby is closer with team jnpr than she is her own team. If they showed the ops messing up during rwby vs ace ops fight due to lack of communication, then it still doesnt matter. My point is that they shouldnt have lacked teamwork in the first place.

Robyn was m e h this episode “JaMes ConTinUes to UnDeresTimAte Me” *proceeds to get knocked over in .3 seconds and is then KO for the rest of the episode* also great job for starting a fight and aiming to take clovers life in a moving airship with a terrorist on board when clover was acting PEACEFULLY and qrow was WILLING TO TALK IT OUT WITH IW and potentially work on a solution, but naw robyn is big mad and shall shoot.

Qrow made zero sense this episode too. I was with him right up until he chose TYRIAN OVER CLOVER??? THE PSYCOPATH WHO CANNOT BE REASONED WITH OVER THE RATIONAL DUDE YOU KNOW IS GOOD except clover wasnt acting rational in this fight at all and ill get to that AND IS THE ONLY FRIEND YOU HAVE WHOS NOT 19????? Qrow rly looked at tyrian- a man who is literally an enemy to all of remnant and went after ur neice- and said lets get rid of this punk together u and me bro. Like screw teaming with clover to bring down the dude you ACTUALLY have a grudge with whos also a serial killer and then trying to talk it out with clover whod be willing to do things peacefully why is this show like this

and AS FOR CLOVER. where were the braincells this episode. Qrow was trying to fight tyrian-the WAY bigger threat here, but clover??? kept knocking him away from tyrian and restraining him with his hook like??? YEAH LETS HELP OUT THE DEMON SCORPION CRACKHEAD HES CLEARLY NOT THE PRIORITY ATM nvm clover deserved to die there m8

His death scene was emotional and I feel bad for Qrow but u literally sealed his death when u ganged on him with tyrian so why are you even surprised. And on the subject of fairgame, im glad it didnt happen. Qrow was in no state for romance and I was glad he finally had a friend. He just spent the last volume thinking he wasted his life away helping oz, drowning in misery, drinking til he passed out on the street and so drunk he couldnt even be of any help during the apathy situation, when up til now hes been shown to fight just fine while drunk. I don’t see this as a “bury your gays trope” because clover was never confirmed to be gay and all their scenes added up to 40 seconds of platonic friendship. These two are grown ass men, if they had the hots for eachother then im pretty sure they could openly show it and not dance around it like theyre kids. I do feel bad for mlm viewers who were hoping for some rep with fairgame/lucky charms (cuz rt only cares if ur a cute marketable lesbian) but idc for the overly entitled fans who try to force their own headcanons on the writers and go feral when they dont get what they want. You dont just get to prance around claiming whats canon and what isnt. If rep is there then great, but if it isnt, then why not look somehwere else and let the author tell the story theyre trying to tell? Shipping fairgame cuz you think its cute is absolutely fine but not when u start getting ready to casterate crwby for not catering to you. Also, rwby sucks with lgbt+ rep anyway so what were yall expecting.

The only thing that was great this episode was the chorerography. It just sucks that the animation/choreo continues to improve while the writing doesnt. Another thing that really fell off this episode was the whole “we’re friends but we have to fight” drama. It doesnt work when its only ONE SIDE SHOWING ANY DISTRESS OVER IT. Only the ace ops (marrow, clover, the vine dude) seemed to show distress over having to fight rwby (it sucks that the only 1v1 weiss has won was because marrow was going EASY on her cuz he didnt wanna fight her fr) but rwby???? They didnt give any shits. They were so quick to turn against them and aim for their heads. They were SMILING as they ran at the ace ops, while they looked conflicted. If you oppose their UwU philosophy, you’re dead to them.

I really wanna enjoy RWBY but sometimes this show (and the fndm) really tests me. Its ironic how this episode came right after last episode, which I thought was the best chapter this volume. Anyway I rate this 10/10 cuz it gave me best character ironwood and best boi marrow and I would like to give them hugs for carrying this volume on their backs. (Also tyrian and penny and winter have been great too)

daysia jade, day, dj, deej – anything goes. she’s 23 and will turn her head to just about anything. she’s a spring baby born march, 1996.

her childhood was pretty good. she and her brother grew up a year apart, and her parents divorced early. early enough that daysia can barely remember a time where the family was hole, and likes it that way.

however, her father did not take the divorce well and turned to drugs – meth to be specific. he only saw the kids on weekends and even then, daysia and marcus absolutely knew what was happening. perhaps they didn’t know his choice of poison, but they knew that it was just that: poison.

he was never abusive and always took care of the kids, even if he was tweaking out of his mind. there were a few instances that were touch and go, like when he forgot to take dinner out of the oven and it caught fire, or when he forgot to change the sheets – little things that added up.

when daysia was 16 and marcus was 15, they were involved in a car accident. her dad was high behind the wheel, lost control of the car, and they hit the guard rail. they went over an embankment and down a short hill before the vehicle came to a complete stop, flipped over. she watched the life drain from her brother’s face, and never got into a car again, up until recently when she started letting @malcolmvramsey drive her places she needed to go. she always tries to give him gas money, but he rarely takes it.

a good deal of resentment built up for her father, but she remained stoic, even when he went to prison for drug charges and the dui he’d racked up that ultimately killed her brother. she didn’t let anyone know that she was hurting, because she numbed it all. she threw herself into her school work and her artwork, painting constantly. melting colors together somehow helped her cope. she could get her emotions out on paper. in fact, that still rings true today. in her bedroom of the apartment she lives in, she has covered one of the walls in canvas and paints over and over.

in an effort to start life over, daysia left detroit when she graduated high school. she transferred to peach hollow where she went to winchester university, not wanting a lot of attention. this is where she really came to life.

daysia was able to push michigan to the back of her mind entirely, because peach hollow had so much to offer. the people were better. the music was better. the parties were better. the education was better. there wasn’t a single thing she missed from home aside from her mother, who she kept in regular contact with and still does. they’re always texting and facetime before bed every night.

she came alive. college changed her. she was studying a subject that interested her and meeting people who didn’t have to know about her past. she did, and does everything to keep michigan her dirty little secret. she liked the party scene, but only drank or smoked weed. she refuses to touch anything that might turn her into her father. she was even hired on as a crisis counselor for a local hotline, contractual to her graduation.

in the past month, daysia has plummeted, however. nobody would ever be able to tell. she is the queen of poker face, an absolute delight to be around. she can be a little aloof, and is constantly stoned, but it’s how she gets through the day. she is an absolute goof, loves to crack jokes and make people laugh. she loves to laugh herself. these are all traits that show and cover the inner turmoil constantly trying to bubble to the surface.

about three weeks ago, daysia received word that her father passed away in jail. he overdosed, and she wasn’t sure how to feel. so she didn’t. she did, however, stop doing school work and started drinking more. she’s mere days from flunking out of school and losing her job. but nobody knows, because she acts like she doesn’t know either.

all in all, she’s doing a lot of self sabotage but covering it up with every ounce of grace she has.

as for her personality and relationships, daysia excels. she is nurturing, so when a friend, or even a stranger is hurting, she tends to go to their side and comfort them. as long as she can make them laugh, then everything will be okay. she makes friends pretty easily, and keeps them for the most part. she is fiercely loyal and will absolutely scrap to defend her loved ones.

she loves love. there is no gender she isn’t curious about and absolutely loves romance, though she also tries to hide that. her walls are ten feet tall. she’s in to hook ups, flings, and polyamory. she’s very open in that sense!!

FUN FACTS

she has an english bull dog named frank!! he is her pride and joy. she dresses him up in outfits, has regular photo shoots with him and loves going to the dog park. he isn’t legally an emotional support animal, but that’s definitely what he is to her. if he doesn’t like you, she won’t either tbh

she has this lil purple pen looking thing that is always on her. it’s her weed vape and she will hit it anywhere. her dumb head is always in the mfing clouds

party friends: this one is pretty self explanatory!! these are friends that daysia may or may not talk to outside of a party, but will always cling to at one.

close friends: she lets very few people all the way in, but those that make it are generally taken care of by day. she makes sure that they are as comfortable with life as possible and spends a lot of time with them

exes: as daysia is a ticking time bomb, there have been many people she’s blown off. whether they once hooked up, were together, or what have you, daysia has a lot of exes. she never means to hurt anyone. it just sort of happens and she has accepted it.

at the same time, she got into her first serious relationship. day fell hard and fast for her best friend, mac. their relationship started out much like a fairy tale. she wanted to keep it like that forever, but her addiction and ptsd took over. she tried her very hardest to hold onto mac, but he moved back to nyc with their best friend, dom, in tow. she still misses them to this day and finds it hard to keep friends like she kept them close. the littlest things will remind her of mac and she’ll start to spiral. two years later and she’s still hung up, but she’ll deny it to the very end.

it’s safe to say that when this happened, daysia crumbled. she realized just how many people she’d lost and how many she had -- and she didn’t have anyone at that point, or so she thought. she continued to isolate and stopped answering her phone, and within the week, her mother was there to drag her home to detroit for detox.

she spent the next few weeks laying in the bathroom, going through withdrawal from alcohol and the various benzos she’d started eating like candy. things were bad. her mother never left her side, and after many na and aa meetings, after snatching pill bottles and miniatures out of her room for months, daysia cleaned up her act. she put on a healthy amount of weight, started working out, went to aa or na two or three times a day until she was comfortable enough to skirt by a day or two without one. she finished up her degree that summer and started waiting tables. she saved up every cent, finally having enough money and credit built up to buy a house where she really wanted to be: peach hollow.

after talking to her old boss, they agreed to take her back on as a crisis counselor when she moved back

so the newly clean and sober (aside from weed lol) daysia is living in a house on blueberry boulevard with @dawsonsawyer

that he is too soft–too naïve, too unprepared. basically basil’s fancied becoming a journalist for a long time, and realizing that if he wants to become a good one he must be harder… is difficult. he’s starting to feel more and more like he isn’t good for that job, and that maybe it’s not a good fit for him. and it’s not good. at this point he just wants to publish one story that’s good.

if someone else were to point it out to him, he’d dismiss them and avoid the topic until he has an idea of what else he wants to do.

19. what boosts your oc’s confidence the most?

feeling like he’s done something relevant, or when something he does goes well. also, when people appreciate him and compliment him!! he blushes a lot but it inspires him to do (and be) better!!

22. how does your oc usually show affection? are they openly romantic or more restricted with their affectionate emotions?

it depends on how close he is to the person, and especially, how comfortable they make him feel. considering a golden scenario…. he’s very comfortable with them and they’ve been together for a while now (so the novelty doesn’t make him a bumbling mess), chances are basil will be very affectionate–not really with words, but with gestures that make their life easier. he will do a lot of things around the house, bookmark things he knows they’d love… that kind of thing. he is open but in the way he can be.

3. does your oc behave differently around different people, if so with whom and how?

very. it’s part of why she’s such a dang good politician. she actively strives to maintain these border lines. it’s a professional/casual/romantic division. at least, at the moment.

in professional settings, mumina is very much… a machine. she doesn’t bring any of her personal life to her work and she is very much a yes woman even if she disagrees. this is where her determination shines the most. as time goes by and the story develops this façade becomes more and more restricted to her contact with the public.

casual mumina is mumina with her friends. she can be this way at work if it’s with malcolm and especially lucian. and it will become more and more like this. she’s a hypercompetitive lady who likes to make fun of her “kids”.

romantic mina is mina when she’s with mala. mostly unguarded, very soft, very tender. she loses her “alpha-ness”.

5. how would your oc generally react to someone being verbally abusive towards them for no apparent reason?

she would most likely just tell them to talk to the hand and dismiss them.

they would have to approach her and explain themselves and apologize if they want to make amends because she sure as hell doesn’t care. she may forgive, but she doesn’t forget.

9. does your oc feel a pressure to achieve or are they content and calm with doing what they can at the moment?

mumina comes across as an overachiever with her hypercompetitiveness, but she doesn’t really feel a pressure to achieve.

it’s like… she believes that if you do something, you must do it well, so she strives to do her best. but she is content with where she is. her competitiveness usually doesn’t lead her to reach above her.

22. how does your oc usually show affection? are they openly romantic or more restricted with their affectionate emotions?

very open in private. she will shower mala with compliments and want to kiss her all over. winku. with friends she is more restricted, but u better bet she will show off mala to anyone as if she were a trophy wife. she kinda is. her hobby is competing against mal in “my wife is better than yours”.

not being good enough/being abandoned because of it.

this is her core belief, after all. she was abandoned by her human parent (she doesn’t know anything about them) because she, for some reason, isn’t good enough for them. so she tries to be better and do better and become, for all intents and purposes, perfect. she feels like that is her ticket of entry into relationships.

she is a very functional perfectionist so it’s not often people notice it. when someone does point it out she denies it and tries to push them away because she feels that now that they saw through her they will want nothing with her. she hurts them and in so doing she hurts herself the most. at this point she really needs to be invested in that relationship otherwise she will just let them go because they have nothing to do with it.

6. does your oc have a realistic image of their own intelligence?

she got there with time, but yes, she more or less has one. she’s very good at identifying the things she isn’t good at, and while she is a perfectionist at heart, she has learned well to cut herself some slack in some areas she doesn’t consider as central to her selfhood.

she knows she’s a very do-it person, not so much book smart, though she does know a lot of useless trivia. she’s definitely a right brain kind of person.

by being very dramatic and being even nastier to them!! you think luce jokes around?? nah. and you bet he would be plotting murder right after and finding every bit of dirt on them he can.

12. what is one of the most primary things your oc feels that is missing from their life?

intimacy. lucian’s always ended up putting himself at arm’s length from people. he is very… precise in what he wants. he wants to be good at his job, he has a very specific idea of the image of himself that he wants to show others, he has a very specific idea of what kind of man he wants to be with.

he’s very good at getting what he wants. he’s also very quick to get bored, particularly in relationships. he always looks for people who seem to have it all/seem to be put together and… he ends up getting bored. he basically needs to be with a M E S S like himself.

27. does your oc practice any kind of escapism? if yes, what kind?

he does, especially fantasizing type, which he turns into some sort of illusion. when lucian is feeling down he does the things he wants to appear to do–he goes to the movies, finds a date, treats himself. they don’t feel v genuine and he knows it so it’s not very effective in that regard. he busies himself with knowing the rotten bits of everyone else so he doesn’t have to look at himself, too.

but mostly he makes it so he appears to be the kind of person he wants people to think he is. take his ring, for example. most people believe he is married or engaged because of it, and he has no qualms with letting them assume that.

28. how would your oc react if a bully stole their lunch money in high school?

get revenge. he would break the sound barrier to get to the principal’s office with some scandalous accusation that may or may not be entirely true. he’s not joking around.

30. what makes your oc defensive quickest?

when people criticize his work/don’t let him do it as he wants to.

8. how is/was your oc’s relationship with their parents?

it’s… really good tbh, though it’s also very asymetric, since habiba too most educational responsibilities bc of language barrier.

khalil’s relationship with habiba is very close. he admires her greatly and everything she did for him and his apu, for being the only one in their house who worked until khalil started, and everything else. until khalil got good enough to create good plugins and apps and he started working part-time as a teen, she was the lady of the house. nowadays it’s more of a partnership. khalil tries to help his parents financially as best as he can and habiba rly trusts his judgment.

his relationship with smith is different. there’s a lot of love there but also some kind of barrier–smith is very good at communicating through gestures and sign language, but there are things that are very difficult, and their writing isn’t very elaborate. khalil still loves them a lot and to smith khalil is their biggest treasure. their relationship is very soft and comforting!!

15. does your oc consider themselves a good person?

he does!! khalil is a good flower who knows himself very well, bless him!!

praise!! seeing that he is helping, too, but mostly praise and validation from the people whose opinion he values.

he would try to negotiate to get it back. if it works out, all the better, if not, he won’t snitch them out either. he’d ask for a friend’s help and then pay them back another day.

RE: adults who [still] self-h@rm (self-h@rm mention, but nothing specific/graphic) (rly only read if ur an adult that self-h@rms-- i am looking for. something.)

heyyo i’ve been mentally ill since i remember. like, not trying to brag but i was first diagnosed with major depressive di$order at 13. so i’m rly good at being depressed. i know all the ins and outs, all the symptoms, how to hide all the symptoms. I can point to specific things that trigger depressive episodes, and i know the coping mechanisms to try and manage them. depression and addiction are runnin on #both sides of my family and i can talk to them about our shared symptoms. actually i feel comfy talking to all sorts of ppl abt depression/anxiety in general.

but the one thing that is still super confusing and alienating is self-h@rm. no one can tell me why i do it... why I STILL do it at gd 24 yrs old. and when u talk abt it... it’s just the weirdest thing. everyone thinks it’s the weirdest grossest thing. my mom used to say “it’s unnatural to want to mutilate ur body.” i tell my therapist that i’ve self-h@rmed and i can visibly see her go from empathy to sympathy. and then she tells me to hold an ice cube until it melts or rip up a phonebook or something. “it’s about a pain that you can control” “it’s abt self-loathing” i just... none of that is it. even talking to other ppl that self-h@rm have a whole different methodology and justification. it’s like about being the grossest, weirdest, most isolated inhuman person that no one can relate to not even experts or family. and it’s weird bc my dad whomstt has bip0lar depression and often has like mirror image symptoms to me can’t even relate. and i feel like when things get Really Bad i will always go back to this and no one can tell me why or how to stop (besides that “it’s unnatural to self-soothe that way” when like.. obv it came to me very naturally if i started as a literal child) like any sort of “well, this has actually worked for me and can we unpack what it is that’s working and why my brain thinks this is the only way to get it?” is shot down immediately bc “Duh, pain is bad! u do this bc ur in an emotional state go hold an ice cube and calm down” when like,, actually these are level-headed calculated decisions carried out so expertly that i never get caught. if i want to hurt myself, i can. no matter what. and i can hide it or lie about it and i’ll be believed. LIKE the general solution to self h@rm based on my experience in therapy is just tricking yourself to make it harder. lock your razorblades in a safe, do 100 jumping jjacks and see if u still want to self h@rm. none of these address the root that my brain wants this. this actively soothes me. and then god forbid if a loved one does catch u, bc now ur immediately in the role of consoling them bc they;re so freaked out and traumatized seeing someone like that. and u have to assure them that ur having a hard time but u dont want to die, u just acted out of high distress (even tho it was actually a cold deliberate decision and Not That Weird or Traumatic to me)

i guess just if any adult adults read this and have any words or insight hmu. i feel like everything out there is for teens and suicid@l ppl, which i am netiher.(and i;m not in danger or anything so if anyone i know in real life contacts me abt this i’m gonna be rly annoyed bc i told u at the beginning not to even read it!!)
