no one particularly at the moment. but in his teenage years mal used to struggle a lot with sleep. he’d listen to music and read (he doesn’t do it so much nowadays but he used to be quite the bookworm before he went into politics). his picks were mostly non fiction–political, economical, and philosophical essays.

mala: she’s literally the cutest when she’s listening to someone talk in conversation. she makes a lot of aaaaahh noises and nods so much and even bounces on her feet!!

mumina: she’s a very light sleeper! she wakes up a lot during the night bc mala changes positions a lot during her sleep so they have this system where during busier times at work mina sleeps on the couch. it’s good, it’s not because they’re bad.

you know, i’ve thought a lot about victor and lily’s love and sex life a whole dang lot. mostly because of lily’s trait combo (unflirty, dislikes kids). so… thirsty vicky mostly takes care of his needs on his own, as i started to see lily as mildly sex-repulsed. it works. he takes good care of himself and she isn’t put in a place where she’s uncomfortable. i love them so much!

13. what kind of situations does your oc avoid?

jess doesn’t avoid a lot of situations but the ones she does avoid are those where she’s forced to be and deal with her insecurities re: her parents (and the abandonment liked to that) and her belief that she Needs To Be Perfect. they’re linked. generally any talk that touches upon those issues makes her steer the conversation every which way until she’s basically the human-alien version of a cat hissing to GO AWAY!!

luckily those haven’t happened a lot yet bc (a) she and mal go way back and mal doesn’t Know those issues exactly bc they dont talk abt it and (b) mal Doesn’t Talk About Things Until It Becomes Unbearable and © he still Knows or has a pretty good idea.

but catii!!! u may ask, catii u are a dumb liar why would jess start the 20 questions game with mal then?? that’s bc she WANTS to start opening herself and the 20 q game is good for that. and mal doesn’t rly ask The Difficult Questions bc he doesn’t want to push her too far

apparently malcolm is an asshole in many games and it also includes mine!! he once yelled at his boss’ wife and to this day i haven’t recovered. but he’s more of a sappy gym rat in mine that’s true

ok so….. i’ve been meaning to do a bunch of meta posts because i think too much about these kids… but mostly i write malcolm based on who he is in the game?? also i get a bit of the other malcolms we’ve met, mostly his ts3 self. like… i read the bios, see his traits, his relationships, his skills, his aspiration, and try to build from there… that’s just the way i find myself doing things… i look at a chara’s background, relationships, history, and figure out what core beliefs and such come out from that and like… a central question/dilemma

only scratching the surface here but….. in mal’s case i see him as a social chameleon by nature… he’s a people pleaser who is also willing to throw anyone under the bus. he’s Evil. don’t trust him. he acts like that and looks at his personal history and goes….. ok who am i,what does this say about me?

under the read more for length! so sorry for the delay ;) i’ll be doing facts for jess + zazz, mal, and khal as a group.

Jess is the Glue of this group. The first to join was Zazz, who was as much a little shit as she was when she was pranking people; then Mal when she decided to try and repair their relationship; finally Khalil in Jess’ smooching adventures. 

Their first impressions were…. mixed. At first Zazz thought Jess was cool then he thought she was a Big Nerd. He loves her. He disliked rich boy Mal and then Khal at first, but he has a grumpy acceptance of them now. Mal was initially terrified of Jess but then he was rly impressed by this poor girl who punched him and tried to be friends with him. He loves her. He really likes Zazz’s dry sense of humor and snarky remarks. They bicker back and forth and it’s great. They love it. Mal was initially Intimidated by Khalil’s Chill but then he learned he should use some tucked in shirts and realized that Khalil’s Chill is actually very Chill. He loves Khalil’s Chill. Khalil was at first really amused at how this group with these different people work, and he loves them for that and for taking him in. Khalil is really reclusive so he likes that he now has a group of people that take him in. He loves them all.

They have No Idea of what she’s doing at any moment. Mostly they’ve learned to just roll with it. Zazzer has no patience, Khalil is amused, Mal is worried. They have bets on how long this phase will last. Usually Zazzer wins, but now Malcolm has Inside Knowledge and wins instead.

Outside of the group, Malcolm and Khalil will eventually (in relation to my posting) get along really well.

Khalil is the chillest of the group. This boy has Chill for everyone. They all take shelter under his wing.

From youngest to oldest, it goes Zazzer > Jessamine > Malcolm > Khalil. The differences aren’t more than 1-3 years between them.

Jess wants them to be A Group, but doesn’t know what they would do together.

Work wise, Jess is currently unemployed/constantly changing jobs; Zazzer is a youtube gamer; Khalil works as a software engineer; Malcolm is navigating political waters.

The only time Zazzer eats vegetables is when he eats at Jess’….. Zazz please……

Khalil and Zazzer share an intense love for gaming, but love watching Jess and Mal play because they are n00bs. Mal eventually relents and asks them for some tips. He still loses to Jess.

robbie is probably a cautionary tale as much as a deity. second chances. when a door closes a window opens; it’s not what you originally envisioned, but you make do. the patron saint of lost causes.

she’s san myshuno born and raised, a true spice market gal! she knows where you can get the best of every kind of food and where it’s cheaper. when she was younger she wanted to be a living statue but then she discovered her organizing skills and became a personal assistant.

aaaa thank you so much!! there you go, five facts about the anxious food critic boy!!

he doesn’t really have a set music taste, as in, he usually turns the radio on while he drafts reviews and listens to whatever’s on. when he’s the one choosing music, he has a soft spot for 50s country music up to the 70s (e.g., check out big iron!).

his relationships so far have been very.... tentative (the one he’s beginning with lucian as well). it always feels like a big leap into the void, and he always errs on the side of cautiousness, and second guesses himself. as in everything in his life. he’s usually the one who cools things off.

let’s just say he’s..... not entirely of this world.

he really admires malcolm for how he dealt with the public enemy mess, then how he dealt in the aftermath. it’s not really.... corresponded. (mal is an asshole)

basil, along with jess and khalil, existed even before the lilywhite saga happened and in the original saga plans he was going to play a much more significant role. he still keeps part of it which i kinda spoiled already in the family tree.

lily is my absolute favorite misanthrope. this is a ruthless business woman who has no time nor patience for people. she isn’t so in a rude way, though. most people think she’s just shy.

but sHE ABSOLUTELY LOVES AND ADORES HER HUSBAND!!

i hc her as being born in the simlish equivalent of china. specifically, macau because heyyy!! her mother is of mixed ascent (cantonese/english) and from hong kong. she moved to san myshuno when their company moved there too (she was about 6-7 years old).

lightstone-jin is her maiden surname.

she misses cantonese food most of the time.

i see her as sex-repulsed!!!
