Gosh I’ve been thinking a lot about a Dreamscaper’s type scenario with Ford Pines where somehow, through Gravity Falls weirdness, the Pines family end up in Ford’s mind and going through his memories (pretend the weirdness can get past the metal plate in his head). This is a scenario that takes place before The Last Mabelcorn, so Dipper doesn’t know about Ford and Bill’s deal.
And slowly the Pines family have to find their way through his memories to find a way out of his mind and end up seeing different memories from his time in Gravity Falls. They come to know of his involvement with Bill Cipher through out-of-context snippets.
I imagine there’s a memory in the diner where Ford is sitting in a booth drinking coffee trying to stay awake (sometime after Bill’s betrayal) and overhearing the townsfolk talk about him. Stan looks like he’s about to punch a figment of Ford’s memory when they mention his hands.
Unlike Stan, Ford’s memories aren’t aware that they’re memories. So it’s harder for the family to simply communicate with them. But Dipper grabs the paper that Ford is writing on to get his attention, and it works. Ford jumps back wildly and is all “Where did you come from? Oh, God. Did I fall asleep?” And in this memory, Ford had fallen asleep without realizing and the jukebox starts playing I’m Your Puppet by James and Bobby Purify .
The music and diner start distorting and the voice on the jukebox changes to Bill Cipher’s singing the song, now altering the lyrics to “You’re my puppet”. Dipper recognizes the voice from somewhere, but the distortion is so bad that he can’t quite figure out who’s singing.
Ford wakes up when the waitress shakes his shoulder. “This isn’t a motel, you can’t sleep here.” The jukebox and diner are back to normal, and the jukebox is still playing the song (but now it is back to normal). The memory ends with him gathering his stuff and exiting the diner. The Pines family watch him go, confused and more than a little concerned.
Since Ford Pines can’t possibly know what happened in the diner after he left, the memory freezes and stutters like a VHS tape. But the jukebox still plays, repeating the last words he heard when he left
“I’m your puppet”.
The Pines family go to exit the diner, but the exit door has been replaced by the front door of the shack with a sign nailed to the door saying “Keep Out”. The black and white tile on the floor in front of the door looks like it was being slowly corrupted by wooden planks (from the cabin’s front porch).
When they open the door, leaving behind the sound of the jukebox ominously repeating “I’m your puppet” over and over, they see Ford sitting several inches in front of his TV. They can’t see what’s on it, but he is watching the screen intensely as his voice comes from the speakers
“WELCOME BACK TO PUPPET HOUR WITH BILL!”
I just think it’s interesting to think of all the different ways Ford’s memories can segue into one another, like stream of consciousness. Unlike Stan, where all his memories are consolidated into one location, Ford’s memories are mostly self-contained.
#wanted to write down this idea but I’ll never actually flesh it out#I love pathetic ford pines#ford pines#pines family#gravity falls#book of bill#the book of bill#bill cipher

Hi! I was scrolling on my tik tok and saw a couple of videos with oldies playing and I started thinking..what would be some oldies Zoro would play for his s/o? Would there be a song in particular he dedicates his s/o to? I 💓 your work btw!! Glad to see you back! ^_^
˗ˏˋ꒰🎧꒱ zoro x oldies (zoro oldies music headcanon)
˗ˏˋ꒰🎧꒱ a/n:OMG YESSSSS YESSSS!!!! IVE BEEN WAITING FOR THIS ONE TURN IT UP!!! BITCHESS!!! Gracias amor!! I’m so happy to be back. tell me bear is American without telling me bear is American: SPRING BREAK lemme stop embarrassing myself anyways!!’ Thank you so much for loving my work! I love you!
˗ˏˋ꒰🎧꒱ - so for zoro I definitely think about so many oldies for him so he’s such a physical top and emotional bottom fr y’all can’t tell me otherwise
˗ˏˋ꒰🎧꒱ I definitely think smile now cry later by sunny and the sunliners “i smile for my friends and cry later.” Those lyrics hit him the hardest because he’s not that type of person to show his true emotions to anyone but to his crew mates and his s/o.
˗ˏˋ꒰🎧꒱ somebody loves you by the delfoics is a song he’ll for sure dedicate to you and play for you. Because it’s a good song in eyes
˗ˏˋ꒰🎧꒱ what would your daddy say by the earles inc. is a must to play when he’s sharpening his swords, or humming while taking his naps in the crows nest.
˗ˏˋ꒰🎧꒱ ahora te puedes machar (Spanish version of i only want to be with you by dusty spring) cover by le surfs. he’ll proudly sing this song in the shower. if sanji hears him singing along, by walking in and eagle screeching. pobrecito chopper to have to help sanji recover from zoros ass beating, but it’s worth it in his eyes
˗ˏˋ꒰🎧꒱ im your puppet by james and bobby purify: yes just yes. once he’s in love there’s no one else in his eyes but his s/o. he’s a man of his word. no one else just you
˗ˏˋ꒰🎧꒱ the tears of a clown by smokey robinson and the miracles. zoro has clown energy sometimes don’t even try to defend him. it’s cute for him to be obsessed with oldies tbh

Dutronc Made me a Minet
When I think of Le Kilt I see tartan wallpaper and carpet, At Birdland on Duke of York, St James it was the chiaroscuro of the dance floor while at Samantha’s the lasting memory is the DJ in the chassis of an E type. Les boites that I frequented in 1966 all played black American soul- Respect by Otis Redding, In the Midnight Hour by Wilson Pickett, I’m Your Puppet James and Bobby Purify, James Brown It’s a Man’s World and Harlem Shuffle by Bob and Earl- with one or two mod anthems like. What’cha Gonna Do About It by the Small Faces, Keep on Running by the Spencer Davis group and Out of Time by Chris Farlowe.
At the top of Dean Street next door to the West End Hospital for Nervous diseases was Les Enfants Terribles a smoky basement coffee bar which in the afternoon was frequented by au pairs, French students, Italian waiters and East End girls. It was on my only visit that I first heard Dutronc.
At Le Bataclan I met some boys and girls. from Pau who encouraged me to cast off my John Stephen button down shirts, knitted string tie, pastel blue denim jacket, herring bone tweed suit and brogues. One of them nicknamed .Kaki told me that If I wanted to ‘draguer les filles’ ( pull the girls) I needed to change my image and style. They encouraged me to be more decontracté (relaxed) wear Brut, cut out the coke and switch to Pepsi and strawberry milkshakes. They nicknamed me Monsieur Lapin and said my surname was a girl’s Christian name in France
Soon I was out on the floor with a side parting and a fringe, pink crepe shirt covered by a tight maroon Shetland pull that ended above my umbilicus and a pair of grey flannel flairs. My dancing shoes were Weston loafers with tassles. The girls I danced with wore mini-kilts, tight Cashmere sweaters and Jacquard scarves tied around their necks.
Kaki told me I was now a ‘Minet’ and taught me the lyrics of my favourite Dutronc songs:
Petit, petit, petit Tout est mini dans notre vie Mini-moke et mini-jupe Mini-moche et Lilliput Il est mini, Docteur Schweitzer Mini, mini, ça manque d'air Mini-jupe et mini-moque Miniature, de quoi j'me moque? Ministère et terminus Minimum et minibus
And from Moi et Moi et Moi
Sept cent millions de chinois Et moi, et moi, et moi Avec ma vie, mon petit chez-moi Mon mal de tête, mon point au foie J'y pense et puis j'oublie C'est la vie, c'est la vie
And from Les Playboys
J'ai pas peur des petits minets Qui mangent leur ronron au drugstore (Chi-chi-chi-chi, chi-bi-dou-ah) Ils travaillent tout comme les castors Ni avec leurs mains, ni avec leurs pieds
I learned that Les minets frequented The Drug Store, Le Pub Renault and the New Store on the Champs, read the Melody Maker and listened to Radio Caroline. They danced at boums like Club Pierre Charron on Thursday afternoons and at Le Mimi Pinson. Like the mods they exemplified sixties dandyism. The girls from Pau encouraged me to visit Paris and buy some straight cut trousers at Renoma on rue de la Pompe. By the time I made it to Paris to study neurology at La Salpetrière in 1971, the blousons dorés were nowhere to be seen. They had been lost to the May 68 social revolution and a new flamboyant psychedelic mode.
