I know I use "well well well, how the turn tables........" like twice a week at least but I feel it also applies here
So if your immigrant wife who "fled" being around too many educated folks is going to get deported it matters, but if you're a Mexican or South American family fleeing literal violence get fucked, I guess 🙃 honestly, I hope he gets deported
#for so many reasons i want him to be deported#if that doesn't make him rethink his stance on immigration than nothing will he's brain dead#and two maybe not being in an evangelical echo chamber will do them both some good#trace bates#Lydia bates

Trace and Lydia seemingly call out WOACB
Screenshot from Reddit
They posted this after WOACB accused them of underfeeding baby Ryker. I assume this is a callout to her and perhaps others.

Well it looks like people expect Carlin will be the next with an announcement but, Lydia and Emerson are pretty close too. Definitely feel like they’ll all announce by the end of the year, so it’ll be interesting to see who’s next

Baby Bates 2* is on the way!
On Saturday 7th December 2024, Trace and Lydia Bates shared they are expecting their second baby via their YouTube channel. This pregnancy follows a loss in February 2024.
Early, Late or On Time? This pregnancy announcement was slightly late but has also been offset by the couple announcing a little later than they did with Ryker. They were first expected to announce in October for a due date in April. The birth is now predicted to be 48 days late, which is only 0.32 SDs late, pretty much bang on time!
Timing of Pregnancy Announcement Trace and Lydia announced Ryker's pregnancy on Day 75 (10 weeks, 5 days) of pregnancy. This pregnancy was announced around Day 91 (13 weeks) of pregnancy, a fair bit later. Their new average is to announce on Day 83 (11 weeks, 6 days) of pregnancy, 8 days slower than before.
Due Date Based on Lydia finding out she was pregnant in Hawaii, and her seeming to suggest that it was a fairly early test (she suggested before finding out the result that it might be too early to test), I assume she was early in her pregnancy when she found out. The couple also shared she found out she was pregnant right at the start of their Hawaii trip in October. Based on all this, I am estimating a due date of 14th June 2025. However, Ryker was born 14 days early, so the estimated birth date for Baby 2* is 31st May 2025.
Impact on the Data This pregnancy is a post-loss spacing, therefore it doesn't affect the maternal multiplier, the second child multiplier or Trace and Lydia's data. Their lost pregnancy earlier in 2024 counts for all those data points. This pregnancy does affect the post-loss spacing data set. Prior to this pregnancy, it stood at 426 days. This pregnancy has a predicted spacing of 474 days, which has slightly raised the average to 429 days. This has a small effect on couples like Jill and Derick Dillard who also had a loss recently.
Baby Three? Trace and Lydia are expected to announce a further pregnancy in January 2026 for a birth in August 2026. They are predicted to have ten children in total.

Gargoyles the Movie: Heroes Awaken (1994)
Back in 1995, I distinctly remember seeing a VHS of Gargoyles: The Movie at the video rental store. I picked it as my movie of the week and was disappointed when I realized it was only the 5-part series premiere edited together. This means we’re not really talking about a movie here, but we sort of are as well. Let's consider it a made-for-TV movie for this review's sake. As that, how does this fare?
In 994 A.D., Scotland, Castle Wyvern repels any invaders thanks to its stone gargoyles, which come to life at nighttime. Despite his frightening appearance, their leader, Goliath (voiced by Keith David) desires only cooperation between his clan and the humans who defend them while they are petrified during the day. Following a betrayal from within the castle walls, most of the gargoyles are destroyed and the few survivors are frozen in stone until the castle they defend rises above the clouds. A thousand years later, in Manhattan, billionaire David Xanatos (Jonathan Frakes) has moved the castle above his headquarters. Awoken in an unfamiliar world, they find a friend in Elisa Maza (Salli Richardson), an open-minded police detective.
Don’t expect the visuals to rival a theatrical production or even something like Nickelodeon’s The Last Airbender. While the characters are consistently on-model, I spotted at least one coloring error in the second half of the picture and there is more than one instance of the stone gargoyles looking pretty different from their awakened state - the "statues" are painted as static background elements so the stone texture and the angles of their muscles/limbs are much more detailed than anything in the moving foreground. Finally, this is a pilot so while it is self-contained, many threads will only pay off in later seasons, such as the gargoyle eggs Goliath leaves with Princess Katharine (Kath Soucie) and her wizard (Jeff Bennett) (not sure why he did that, in hindsight). That said, this is a strong debut.
There are many characters in this story and the gargoyles other than Goliath - they name themselves Lexington (Thom Adcox Hernandez), Hudson (Ed Asner), Brooklyn (Jeff Bennett again), Broadway (Bill Fagerbakke), and Bronx (Frank Welker) - are more established than given character arcs. This makes Goliath the protagonist and the others supporting characters. I’ve found that in most children’s television series, the leader turns out to be the least interesting member of a team but that’s not the case here. Goliath is at once trusting of humans and wary of opening up. He can be calm and collected but is also prone to fits of rage and frequently talks of vengeance against those who’ve wronged him. He adapts well to his new setting but shows no affinity for modern-day tech like some of his comrades. He's many things at once, which keeps you watching and wondering what's next. There are no obvious character arcs within him.
Gargoyles rather elegantly uses the limitations imposed upon it as a boy’s property to its advantage. All of the gargoyles in Manhattan are male, guaranteeing there won’t be any weird “should we start repopulating?” discussions. It also adds an extra level of tragedy to the story by making them the last of their kind. Conveniently, this makes Elisa the lone female hero of the show/film without making her a token. If there’s a secondary protagonist, it’s her (which gives you a bit of a Beauty and the Beast vibe) and unlike other shows, her status as a colored woman does not make her feel like a quota. It should also be noted that Xanatos is a person of color as well, making this a show with more POC than Caucasians. It may be because most of the cast are non-humans but that’s still something I feel is worth noting.
The story features plenty of varied action. There are battles set in 994 and others in the present as well - some of which don’t include the gargoyles at all and allow the human characters to shine. There are twists and turns as allies become enemies and new partnerships are formed. The general tone is tragic and adventurous with a few bits of comedy thrown in here and there. Best of all, this is a wholly original property. The show was conceived as an answer to Batman: The Animated Series but rather than dig up some available superhero property (this was years before Disney acquired Marvel), it's is something new.
My favorite scene of the film is an interaction between Goliath and his mate, Demona (Marina Sirtis), who managed to survive the thousand-year slumber. During a mission for Xanatos, she prepares to throw an unconscious guard out of an airlock to his death but is stopped by Goliath. “The centuries have made you weak, Goliath,” she says. The thing is, very little time has actually passed for the winged warrior. He’s been frozen in stone. He HASN’T changed but that one sentence shows how much she HAS. It’s a nice subtle exchange.
I am coming into this review biased. Though I haven’t seen the show in years, I remember it well and certainly, remember how it made me feel in 1994. It played right into my fascination with mythology & monsters and I attribute my affection for Shakespeare (the series draws inspiration from Macbeth, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, among others) to the show. It had a lasting impression on me and I believe it has the power to enchant young audiences once more. (July 28, 2022)

as someone who is too lazy to watch entire yt video, why would the romeike family be deported?
so i am also lazy and hate Trace's hypocritical ass so i haven't watched the video, but my understanding in bullet points is:
1. The Romeikes came to America in like 2008 I think on the basis of seeking asylum for religious persecution. Germany (their home country) has strict education requirements that very rarely permit homeschooling, which is what they wanted to do.
2. Germany does have government approved private Christian schools but apparently these are still too worldly for the very evangelical Romeikes. They chose America over a European country with less strict education laws bc of it's concentration of bigots per capita.
3. They were given a few years to be in the Untied States while their asylum claims were gone over, and then at some point the US government was like "ok look this is silly and you need to go home" which they've been appealing ever since. It's been a minute too, I think that decision was made back during the Obama admin.
4. Lydia's parents of course had kids during the time they've been here which complicates things (and I think they knew it would).
5. So what's happening now is they're running out of ways to bide their time and could very likely be sent back to Germany soon.
6. Lydia can apply for a spousal visa but she would still have to go back while she's waiting for approval, which could take months to years. Ryker would likely go with her, as I think babies of German citizens born abroad have up to a year to become dual citizens.

2022 Bates Predictions Review
No baby for 2022. The house is looking great though.
Unfortunately no baby this year. They have been promoting their business a lot but it doesn't seem like Michael has been allowed to get a job so she can use her degree.
Erin hasn't really commented on her ovaries this year but thankfully Finley was born healthy. I was wrong about the house as they've moved to Florida.
Lawson and Tiffany married in May. No attendance from Bindi but yes I'd say it was over the top compared to some of the other weddings.
Nathan and Esther announced their pregnancy on Mother's Day and their daughter Kenna Joy was born in October, which is pretty much the end of the year.
I was wrong about the pregnancy announcement but right about them adding to the family in the next few years. I knew Maci wasn't their final child.
Tori was indeed pregnant when I wrote my predictions. She and Bobby welcomed Cambree (no K name) in August.
Trace and Lydia got engaged quicker than I was expecting with their engagement in March and wedding in October.
Turns out Layla unfortunately wasn't the only one experiencing health issues this year. Zade was born in mid March, they moved house but kept Izzy.
No pregnancy announcement for these two.
Katie did struggle with being away from her family and there were a lot of trips to see her in New Jersey. Baby #1 was announced in August and Hailey James is due in March.
Jackson didn't join the police and instead got himself a girlfriend. Kelly sadly lost her mom. It was a fairly quiet year for everyone else.

Upcoming Events - Bates and Duggars
Completely non-sims related. But I've been plugging the data we've got into my spreadsheet for the Bates and Duggars to see what else we might expect for 2023 and 2024 as I missed the incredible next 6 months DuggarData used to do for us. My data is nowhere near that complex or well sorted but fingers crossed it might scratch an itch!
Who's Late and What For?
Justin and Claire are late for baby 1. The Bates/Duggar average for first child is 352 days after marriage. This would have meant a due date of 13th February 2022.
Jinger and Jeremy are late for baby 3. The spreadsheet had her down for a baby on 13th March 2023. On Jinger's press tour, she said she was happy with her two girls and didn't see a problem with preventing pregnancy.
Lawson and Tiffany are late for baby 1. This was predicted for 29th April 2023.
Jana is (unsurprisingly) late for courtship. My data has her initial courtship down for 29th May 2011. It now has her down for +5 SD - 1st March 2025.
Jason is also late for courtship. He was predicted to enter into a pre-courtship on 22nd June 2022 and a courtship 12th November 2022. This has been moved to 2026 (+1 SD).
So... What's Happening in 2023?
We have two more 2023 babies we know of. Ryker Cruise and William Gage. Ryker is due 26th September 2023. Due to Erin's health conditions, it is likely William will be born early and my spreadsheet is expecting him 7th November 2023.
There is also one 2023 wedding on the cards. Jackson and Emerson are due to wed 14th October 2023.
There are only two 2023 prediction left in my spreadsheet. Jessa and Ben are due for baby 5 on the 17th November 2023. We'll see, there's been no announcement yet.
James is due to start a pre-courtship 7th September 2023 for a courtship on the 28th January 2024.
And What About 2024?
We already know of one 2024 baby - Josie B's third. (Predictor birth date is 19th February 2024) - this baby was late, spreadsheet was expecting baby 3 on the 28th January 2023. Josie has stated she used birth control.
The spreadsheet also expects the following babies:
Joe and Kendra #5 - 21st January 2024
Tori and Bobby #5 - 27th January 2024
Jeremiah and Hannah #2 - 9th August 2024
Jedidiah and Katey #3 - 29th August 2024
Jackson and Emerson #1 - 30th September 2024
Carlin and Evan #3 - 23rd October 2024
Nathan and Esther #2 - 5th December 2024
Katie and Travis aren't predicted until 2025 (25th April) but if I had to pick a non-predicted baby, it would be for these two.
Overall...
So, by the end of 2024 the predictor expects 6 more Grand-duggars for a total of 37. It expects 8 more Grand-bates for a total of 33.
There are a few more potential courtships when we look at family members beginning a pre-courtship 1 SD early - notably Warden (September 2023) and Addallee (April 2024) Bates, as well as Johannah Duggar (December 2023). All of these are due 2025 or later if they stay completely Bates / Duggar average. (Let's avoid more teen brides!)

I asked you which Jane Austen character would be the best at assembling IKEA furniture, so now I must know...
Don't you dare yell at me for not including XYZ Character—do you know how impossible it is to pick only 11 Austen characters who suck at assembling IKEA furniture? There are way too many of them! So so many Austen characters would be destroyed even by a Lack table!
Reblog and share in the tags how the IKEA disaster goes down for the character you picked.
#this might be the hardest poll i've ever made#they would all be so bad at this for so many different reasons#dick musgrove is kind of cheating because he's not actually a living character that appears on page#but i couldn't resist adding him#and it's my blog so i can do what i want#ikea#jane austen characters#jane austen crack#jane austen#polls
