hello, it’s nora again.... hitting u with another child. this one is brand spanking new and a longhaired softboi who deserves tenderness. help me mould them into a fleshed out member of the human race with love and tender kisses. here’s the pinterest board 

it might be HIS JUNIOR year but I still think RORY BERGSTRÖM looks exactly like JACK KILMER and sometimes I think the DEMI-BOY is actually them. Of course I’m wrong, as they’re 23 and studying MUSIC TECHNOLOGY while living in BRIGHTON here at Lockwood. The PISCES can be rather ECCENTRIC and METHODICAL, but also kind of HESITANT and DOGMATIC. Their most played song on Spotify was LOSING MY EDGE by LCD SOUNDSYTEM, so I think that says a lot.

half-swedish, half-british. the swedish is on his mother’s side. he’s bilingual but thinks in english. only really speaks swedish around his mother. only child, and kinda put a lot of pressure on himself to be the Perfect Kid when he was young, but his parents are honestly, quite decent? and just want him to have a nice life, they don’t care if he isn’t successful or rich or anything, they’re honestly rather solid. (wow imagine having Nice Parents, a first for all my characters, im literally this meme)

was studying sound engineering at brighton before it burnt down and now doing music technology at lockwood because it’s the closest thing they offer in terms of transferable modules. pretty goddamn pissed about the whole sitch tbh

grew up in peckham, a suburb of london. growing up, his mum was a model / actress / waitress who later retrained as a speech therapist and his dad worked in her majesty’s service at buckingham palace. his dad wasn’t allowed to tell his family what his job entailed but rory suspects it’s probably very boring and just involves a lot of.... logistics n security.

was bullied a lot at school. [cole sprouse voice] he didn’t fIT iN AND HE DIDN’T wANT TO fIT iN. unironically wore a trenchcoat to school every day of his life. spent most of his lunchtimes in the library because it was his Safe Space. as a result he knows.... loads of useless information because 30% of his school years were spent reading anthologies on space and the vikings etc. would be good on a game show. obsessively recorded every episode of university challenge as a child.

favourite film is where the wild things are. also loves the florida project.

has been musical for as long as they can remember. first picked up guitar because he thought it would make this girl esther who he was in love with like him, but he just ended up falling in love with music instead. 

formulated several different bands as a kid but ultimately had to give it up cos he was quite controlling and got fixated on making a certain sound so it wasn’t really fun for the others. got into electronic music because it was something he could do basically on his own and keep tweaking until he got it perfect

always drumming their fingers or strumming invisible guitar strings. tends to avoid parties bc he has quite has specific tastes when it comes to music and doesn’t like listening to r&b for eight hours while people throw up into plastic cups. 

a techno connoisseur. has been making electronic music since he was about twelve.

after his parents divorce, when he was fourteen, rory & his mother moved to run-down suburban neighbourhood, pittsfield, massachussets.

big into photography. he mostly uses a canon 35mm camera, but occasionally uses disposable ones when he wants that more rustic feel. 

moving to the states, their photography became more focused on suburban neighborhoods and are often quite dark and cinematic (think gregory crewsden). here are some shots of pittsfield i really like which rory has on his wall [1] [2] [3]

falls in love 12 times a day. never had a girlfriend or boyfriend. gets sweaty when someone cute looks at him. flirting?? what?? would prefer to idealise them from a distance

gender??? hm. doesn’t really know where they fit yet, sometimes he feels like a guy and sometimes they doesn’t feel like anything at all. isn’t really bothered, cos they think it’s a social construct anyway. uses he/they pronouns interchangeably, but feels like ‘he’ is more fitting. won’t necessarily pull anyone up on it cos he knows having an identity that’s constantly.... in flux.. can be annoying for others ... and doesn’t want to be a burden EVEN THO it isn’t at all?? he internalises guilt

everything is socially constructed. mirrors let you move through time. the whole thing's a metaphor. he thinks he's got free will but really he's trapped in a maze. in a system. all he can do is consume. people think it’s a happy game. it’s not a happy game — it’s a fucking nightmare world, and the worst thing is, it’s real and we live in it

has ocd. tries to let it affect his life as little as possible, but obviously it’s incredibly hard to control a compulsive disorder. was teased for it at school when other kids started to notice. he was obsessed with the number five, would wash his hands five times, count stairs i groups of five, he could only use the corridors in one direction and always had to keep his hands busy. it manifests itself in hyper-fixations (trains when he was a child -- specifically steam engines -- then later he became obsessed with space and the patterns of constellations, and now he’s obsessed with synthesizers) and repetitive behaviours like counting stairs. doesn’t really affect his social life at all, he can jst get a bit locked-on n hyper-focused sometimes. 

has insomnia. barely ever sleeps. finds it hard to switch off from work / writing / gaming / whatever’s preoccupying him in that moment. he’s always awake at 5am and quite often sleeps in through classes but still gets really good grades because he’s very good at his course. rarely attends classes. prefers to work independently. doesn’t really trust his tutors are intelligent enough to be teaching him, and is particularly suspcious of the lockwood tutors. a music snob tbh

secretly a small-scale drug dealer, only does weed n some party pills. had cannabis plants growing in brifghton but basically lost most of it in the fire. rollerskates around campus dealing cos they dnt have a car

aesthetics: bed hair from a permanent state of slumber, calloused fingertips from strumming bass into the early hours and drumming into blacklit night, self-help books thumbed once and thrown beneath your bed, watching vine compilations until your eyes turn square, battered copies of choose your own adventure books, spliffs passed half-arsed across rooftops while light pollution obscures low-hanging stars

likes: techno, the webpage cats on synthesizers in space, allen ginsberg, vintage gramophones,  floating points, lcd soundsystem, marijuana, soft dogs that let you pet them, late-night strolls talking about the universe, independent films, cigarettes, herbal tea, gallows humour, long showers, brown eyes, tchaikovsky, dr. seuss, constellations, photography, late night jazz, vintage game boys and girls who could rip his still-beating heart out of his chest and use it as an ashtray. dislikes:  weddings, funerals, formality, button-up shirts that people actually button-up, bananas, hot coffee, social media, people who watch and play sports, rap music -- especially of the misogynistic variety, indie wankers in wire-framed glasses that play ed sheeran songs at open mic nights.

Of course I’m wrong, as they’re TWENTY-FOUR and studying CHEMISTRY while living in AUDAX here at Lockwood. The SCORPIO can be rather MAGNETIC and QUICK-WITTED, but also kind of COLDHEARTED and HARSH. Their most played song on Spotify was IT’S ALWAYS THERE by PRETTY VICIOUS, so I think that says a lot.

hi! i’m perks! i’m twenty-three, located in the central timezone, and i’ve been around the tumblr rp block a few times (sometimes going by cj, so some of you might know me by that but who really knows). this post is going to be dedicated to introducing my sweet psychopathic boy, wolfgang hellström so let’s hop to it!

wolfgang hellström was born first, his twin brother viktor following along only a few minutes later, and he’s been the bane of his father’s existence ever since. the hellström boys were only a few years old when their mother split, unable to properly care for them while doped up on cheap heroin, and so their father was left burdened with the care of twin boys that he hadn’t wanted in the first place. 

wolfgang spent the better part of his childhood with his brother out behind their father’s trailer, chasing one another through the woods while playing tag or hunting for lizards and frogs beneath fallen tree trunks. they were inseparable, with wolfgang serving as the leader of their duo given the six minute head start he had over viktor.

when they weren’t out gallivanting through the woods or running through the trailer park with the other kids, wolfgang and his twin brother were tucked away in their shared quarters, keeping silent like mice to avoid any possible confrontation that might occur if their father stumbled in drunk and decided to lash out at them. 

if situations like this arose, wolfgang was often the one to step forward, taking on the majority of the beatings that might haven fallen onto his brother if he weren’t around. wolfgang was always, and has remained, fiercely protective of his brother. he’s bailed viktor out of trouble, even when it meant the wolfgang himself had to take the blame in his brother’s place, and he’s given viktor his time, money, and energy when he had little for himself. 

as the boys grew older, they acted out more and more. wolfgang took to those illegal activities that were less violent while his twin took the opposite route, seeking out any situation that allowed him to use his fists. they made a good team when they were able to tolerate one another (as their personalities had begun to clash as they matured) but when they were on one another’s bad side, all hell broke loose and chaos rained down on anyone within a ten mile radius. 

that isn’t to say that wolfgang hasn’t lashed out violently, however. he just prefers to reserve his energy for those situations that call for him to pummel someone into the ground until his knuckles are bloody and raw. 

during his time at lockwood, wolfgang has kept a low profile, preferring to attend class and do little of anything else. parties rarely hold an appeal and maintaining relationships with friends is too tedious of a task for him to really feel the need to put in any effort. those people that he does keep close are only there out of pure necessity on his part. they either have something he needs (or wants), or he gets a kick out of some aspect of their personality.

though standoffish when you first meet him, wolfgang has a magnetic personality. he’s easy to talk to, which might be unnerving if people were aware of how psychopathic he really is, and he’s incredibly quick-witted. he can hold his own when talking to just about anyone and it’s only when people really get to know him that they begin to see those traits that he tries to keep hidden. 

taking after his father, wolfgang is also incredibly harsh and abrasive. he doesn’t bullshit or tell pretty lies, he delves straight to the point, cutting down to the bone when he has to. even when his father was abusing wolfgang and his twin, he was honest, and that is something that wolfgang has carried with him throughout his life. 

unlike his twin brother who is incredibly abusive to just about anyone that enters his life, wolfgang is even-tempered and calm a majority of the time. yes, he does what he wants when he wants, but you won’t find him lashing out at the smallest of things like viktor. he bides his time, waiting until the perfect moment to pounce.

The AQUARIUS can be rather CHARMING and EFFERVESCENT, but also kind of MELODRAMATIC and TEMPERAMENTAL. Their most played song on Spotify was SHE LAYS DOWN by THE 1975, so I think that says a lot.

named theodore after the man whose supposedly his ‘father’ teddy obvs goes primarily by his nickname bc frankly? he’s quite ashamed tht his mother wld name him after such a lowlife tht he’s never even met before………

bt he can’t rly blame her, annie met theodore when she was jst 16 during a drug bender n was pregnant 2 months after they met, thinking they were rly truly in love n this was gna be the start of their family. theodore apparently had different plans bc he was Out Of There the night tht annie told him she was pregnant bt she had hopes tht he wld be back

she rly did try her best w teddy bc thts her Flesh and Blood bt once an addict always an addict n she was back in the drug scene like. months after teddy was born, and he was finally taken away when he was 2 bc the neighbours heard him screaming for hours straight after annie left him alone for 2 days to go searching for drugs n money

was in an out of foster homes and facilities fr a rly long time, Saw Some Shit, a lot of the places he stayed at were truly horrific n were in it fr the money with literally no interest in actually being a parent or taking care of teddy so most of the time he had to fend for himself, esp at the all boys foster residences he used to stay at there were. some rly mean ppl there n teddy was pretty badly bullied a lot /:

usually ran away a LOT to meet up w his mom, it became a bad habit esp bc sometimes she jst. was too high to even function and eventually they wld be caught, the longest he escaped for was maybe a week? before annie’s addiction caught up w them and she’d be caught in plain sight attempting to steal and smuggle money from ppl it was pretty shameful

finally when he turned 16 he met the lawrence’s n? all was right…….. they were actually a rly good family n had several fostered children tht also grew up in rough environments, they were jst perfect tbh n teddy ended up taking on their last name n everything bc he loves them sm wipes a tear

was kind of a nobody in school until he was properly living with the lawrence’s, then he became pretty popular, did all the school shits and productions n ended up getting a scholarship for lockwood’s dramatic arts programs

takes some meds fr depression he…… had a hard knock life y’all if he didn’t he wld truly be a lump on his bed sorta lifeless

has been in……….. a commercial or 2 before, he wants to make acting a full time thing bt fr now? his main concern is jst graduating n stuff so tht he has a back up plan sdghoisdhg

personality wise, quite The Character. loud, exuberant, almost obnoxiously so. he was kinda robbed of a childhood so he’s got a bit of a childish, immature humour to him now. will do anything fr the vine……. jst rly loves attention and making ppl laugh and be happy. can be rude without meaning to be?

sooooo this is luna and she’s a very new character,, please bare with me. this intro is gonna be a mess because i’m still working her out ASDFGHJKL;

she was born to teenage parents who had no idea what they were doing. they could only just look after themselves let alone look after a baby. 

her mother’s mother managed to convince her mum to give her up for adoption. it was the best thing in the end rlly. 

luna spent a few years bouncing around the foster // care system, she had a couple of unresolved issues....thanks to her real parents.

she was eventually adopted by a couple,,, who already had a son but wanted to adopt their second child.

she had a great childhood growing up,, but part of her always felt out of place. she didn’t look like her mum & she didn’t really share any personality traits with her other family members. she always felt a little left out???

eg: both her parents couldn’t draw for shit....but luna is a top star,, fab artist which has led her onto doing graphic design at college. 

her parents were worried about telling her that she was adopted,,, worried that they’d leave her to look for her real parents.

sooooo....they’ve never told her UNTIL RECENTLY....luna kinda worked it out. they ended up telling her everything and she cried a lot.

she is currently looking for her real parents. she wants to find them and get to know them. 

besides the whole parent's thing luna is super duper confident. she’s got bucketfuls of it hahah. her song is juice by lizzo (its such a bop, go listen!). she’s a massive tomboy and tries to be friendly with everyone.

graphic design is her passion and she loves to draw things tbh.

Babe and Felix’s dad Henry Erasmus Ford IV got married after this. Actually, henry really loved Felix’s mom. But Henry was a member of the Ford family as in like, that Ford family. The car one sfdssdfg. Needless to say his family did not approve of Felix’s mom at all

Felix was raised mostly by a nanny as Henry was far to busy traveling for work and his mother’s mental state was slowly declining. She had always been a free spirit, and a drug addict, and couldn’t take the pressure from Henry’s family and living in high society

His nanny was actually more like a mom to him, this big Polish woman named Olga

Felix’s parents split up when he was thirteen and his mom moved them into a penthouse, using her divorce settlement quickly and then starting to rack up debt

His mom’s drug addiction also got a lot worse. He had to take her to the hospital after she overdosed when he was fourteen

Felix’s dad offered to to pay for his boarding school tuition with money his mother couldn’t touch and honestly? he was a bit relieved to get away from everyone in his family. 

He went to a school in upstate New York where he first discovered his passion for poetry, and soccer. And also first heard of Lockwood University

He’s always been really popular at Lockwood bc he’s just a big lovable goof. Tends to put on a front for everyone to hide how depressed he really is

he is a firm believer that money can get you anywhere ( regardless of how you make it ) and that has always held true so he deals drugs now to keep up with his preferred lifestyle.

he has a hugeeeeee ego. honestly , you’ll probably choke on his pride , but there is some part of him that wants real love. the near constant pressure to uphold family reputation growing up , to be the perfect son ? sometimes it’s enough to make him crack on occasion. every break down has only made him push harder and has driven him further away from his family. 

BACKSTORY

( tw: abortion ) born on a chilly spring night , march 21st , to one of the wealthiest families in stockholm , sweden. he was the first and the last , any unwanted pregnancies were aborted immediately. there was no need for anymore children , their heir to the fortune and family business already been birthed. an heir that was hardly a son , because  a son would be loved but he was just an heir to be used.

rune was raised up by maids and nannies , because his parents weren’t around enough. it was a mostly loveless childhood except for the help he was close to , his innocence lost too soon.

the pressures of being the perfect son gripped him before he was old enough to even understand. if he could be what his parents wanted , would they love him then ? would they stay home ?

his youth was pretty successful , he begrudgingly became what was expected of him — the spitting image of his father. his years as a teenager were spent stealing bottles of wine , experimenting with illegal substances , joy rides in expensive cars , different faces in his bed. no one noticed , or they at least they pretended not to , and for the most turned a blind eye to his bad behavior but somewhere deep down maybe rune hoped someone would take the time to care.

( tw: gambling ment ) once he was old enough , he was included in the family ‘business’ which isn’t what made them rich but part of the reason they stay that way. lots of gambling and illegal shit that his father calls ‘business’ to make himself sound like a professional.

( tw: drug ment ) at first he doesn’t take to it , but he finds he likes to not only deal but do copious amount of drugs. it doesn’t hurt that he’s making some money on the side !!

( tw: drug ment ) rune goes to his father in interest of becoming an actual member of the gang in the hopes of dealing for them , but those dreams were shot down. a lovik dealing drugs like a petty criminal ?! not a chance in hell mr. lovik would allow that.

( tw: drug and alcohol ment ) his father was quick to forbid him from ever even considering such peasant activity. so , he kept to luxury items such as but not limited to: cars , designer clothes , sex , drugs , and booze. he didn’t mind returning to all of his expensive things and played his part like he always had.

most would never guess that his lifestyle might not be to his liking , that he questions everything , that real love is something he has always desired.

when you look at him you would see a boy that cares about two things: himself and money. he acts like he is the best to hide the fact that he feels unwanted , unloved , and used. he hid behind family pride for a long time , but it was a facade carefully kept.

a few years ago  basically decided he was completely sick of living anywhere near his parents. he couldn’t do shit in stockholm without the public finding out and him ending up in the tabloids which just had his parents breathing fire down his neck for causing a stir. no shaming the family and the ‘business’.

so after applying to several different places in the states , he was able to get into lockwood and was quick to move out on his own. 

( tw: drug ment ) he is a p decent drug dealer on campus , so if your muse does drugs of any sort chances are they or someone they know has gone through rune at least once or partied with him.

it’s that kind of thinking that drove him to work as hard as possible, earning himself the top spot and securing his position as lead dancer. 

there is no room for failure, much like his mother has told him, and hannie has learned to take that by heart. 

he becomes incredibly hard on himself if he messes up a move, often working hours in the studio to finally nail it. the insecurity of not accomplishing something he wants, or looking bad in front of others, is large enough to eat him alive. 

catch him having breakdowns in front of the mirror. catch him ripping things off his vanity angrily in dramatic movie fashion. catch him writing his own monologue gone girl style. he doesn’t have these often, but they’re not exactly pretty to watch either.

he definitely has a nasty habit of becoming somewhat of a chameleon, molding himself into the preference of the people around him.

bridget n her mum alice were more like sisters growing up, probably because of the closeness in age. alice should’ve known that you couldn’t have a thirteen-year-old-daughter at 27 without everyone knowing you’d been one of those girls who gave it away fast as a hot potato, and maybe bridget should have known that she’d inherit more than her mother’s wide eyes, that things had a way of circling back, that at fourteen she too would lose it on the floor of a swimming pool changing room, soggy back, poka-dot nylon pulled down to her ankles. 

her parents met in high school. her mother alice was a roman catholic -- uneducated in matters of safe sex, mother mary around her neck, bras hanging over wooden crucifixes -- and willing to give it to the first boy who seemed interested enough, gift-wrapped or not. 

i say they met in high school, bridget’s dad wasn’t actually in school, they met at the high school. he was the father to a girl down the road. alice knew nothing of the girl besides her name and the few encounters in the corridors facing a stoney stare that screamed homewrecker. it only happened once, but once was enough. soon the pitter patter of tiny feet sounded along the hall of the home for wayward women, alice’s parents having thrown her out as soon as they knew a child was growing in her womb.

gilly (referred to as junior) was born two years later, the son of a mechanic and handyman named gilbert “gilly” senior, who - while a slow-witted man -- was likable enough. alice, gilly bridget & junior lived in a colorado trailer park and whenever she wasn’t at school bridget would be in gilly’s workshop doin her homework surrounded by parts of exhausts.  was raised in a workshop basically.

like her mother, bridget fell pregnant barely out of her gingham print dresses, hair in two plaits down her back, teddies still lining her bed. unlike her mum, she was not box-shipped out to a home for fallen women but rather booked into a clinic, given a pill, just like taking your vitamins.

her mother flaked out when bridget was around fifteen and junior was twelve, leaving gil to adopt the two as legal guardian and raise them in the forge. she’s lived with gilly ever since. they’re not sure where their mother went. some say she rededicaed herself as a virgin and joined the convent in penance for her sins. some say she works in a las vegas strip club and sells pills to minors. 

a withdrawn child, bridget was selectively mute for 2 years (so girl has perseverance) n during that time her diary became her best friend. when she went mute she communicated exclusively through passive aggressive post it notes.

an aspiring screenwriter. she has a very image-based view of memory and experience. always doing a screenplay or shooting film. her style has a lot of catholic iconography (think virgin suicides styler or baz luhrmann’s romeo + juliet if it was done on a super 8 camera) bcos catholicism is one of the few things she remembers about her mother. she’s never actually tried to find her mum / find out about her, jst…. occasionlly channels that energy into her work.

working two jobs to pay for uni currently !! works at the bowling alley polishing the shpes and fixing the bowling lanes, and also is a burger flipper at mcdonalds. a lot of her time is spent in the record store, plugged into a set of headphones, head-banging in the corner to a scratched record. music, for birdie, is a form of escapism. that and dropping acid in parking lots lmao.

massive film buff. is majoring in film at uni also spends a lot of time at the movie theatre n probably has like a season ticket. is one of those pretentious film nerds who’s like “what do u think of goddard’s work?” but also just really into shitty horror movies

she spends her evenings in downtown bars willing away her boredom, trying to find something that’ll jerk her out of apathetic lethargy. she toys with the idea of becoming a stripper — it certainly pays better than fixing bowling lanes — but she lacks the energy to dance for several hours a night.

STORY & MISC FACTS...

clarke had a rather unremarkable childhood growing up in buffalo, ny. the only child of a solid middle class couple who had their hobbies ( photography, art, writing, beer leagues ) but worked boring, menial jobs to pay the bills. 

he got his first camera when he turned ten, hasn’t stopped taking photos since. he has boxes of film and millions of digital photos. there’s a bowl of colorful USB sticks and film canisters in his room all labeled with various dates in masking tape and sharpie. he has them saved onto a giant hard drive too but hey... aesthetic?

in that vein he kinda always knew he was going to pursue photography. he was always a little overlooked even as a child and that made it easy for him to get into intimate spaces, get good shots that no one else quite could. it wasn’t due to shyness or anxiety, however, he never has qualms on where and what he’ll do to get into the perfect place to get that perfect shot.

journalism is a kinda like... eh thing he added on to maybe make photography a more viable thing. most photographers are also reporters, y’know?

this is his third year at lockwood. he picked up a gig his freshman year shooting for the school newspaper where he found his affinity for capturing the fast paced moments in sports. his second year one of his roommates played for the lockwood ice hockey team and he ended up shooting more heavily for their games than other teams and well... 

one thing lead to another. a few well placed connections, a few good comments and truly mindblowing shots, and near the end of the semester he found himself with a press pass shooting the rochester americans during their calder cup run. that gig picked back up with the new semester and new season.

he’s kinda everywhere and nowhere it seems? like you’ll see him everywhere around campus. cryptid truly.

-The Sinclair family is one of the founding families of Rochester which means that Gideon was destined for great things ( and even greater pressures ) before he was even born.

-What no one knew was that the youngest child of the Sinclair family was actually born from a one night stand that Lorelai Sinclair had with her music teacher.

-Naturally she didn’t tell anyone about the affair and just assumed that Gideon was Simon’s.

-To this day, the cat has not gotten out of the bag.

-Gideon has never really fit in among his fellow siblings. Every other Sinclair seemed to possess and poise and confident demeanor that Gids never really had.

-Everyone in his family says that he’s too soft and easily manipulated and that he lacks a strong spine.

-Others say that he’s babied way too much.

-Still Gideon has been having panic and asthma attacks since he was a young boy.

-Anxiety plagues him often as a catalyst into more severe panic attacks that he has no control over.

-The only time he really leaves his mind is when his nimble fingers are gracing the keys of a piano.

-It’s like his mind was developed to transcribe music. He looks at sheet music or even blank sheet music and the world seems a lot less scary to him. It just makes sense. The order and the discipline is something that he wished he could apply more to the terrifying world around him.

-He’s not very good at talking but everyone stopped giving him shit for it when they realized he was a piano prodigy.

-Got into Julliard with a scholarship.

-Moved to New York and had a complete and utter breakdown that ended up with him moving back home and getting hospitalized into a mental institution. The worst part was that he ended up punching his fists into a brick wall until they were bloodied senseless and disfigured and is told he’ll never be able to play piano as well as he used to.

-Moved back home and is living with his parents and hates himself with a passion. His parents are disappointed in him as well. Everyone sees him as the fuck up.

-He’s doing better but he still suffers from anxiety and sporadic panic attacks.

-VERY insecure about his hands. He’ll always have them shoved into his pockets or he’ll hide them with gloves. They’re just a reminder of how he lost the one thing he was good at.

-OKAY so like even though he’s an anxious nervous bean, if he trusts you and you’re his friend, he’ll love you and be so loyal and so good to you and will worry about you all of the time. He’ll probably text you randomly in the middle of the night to make sure you’re alive.

-He wishes he was braver and honestly wishes he was anybody else. Really hates himself.

BACKGROUND

— chloe was born in missouri to a mother that was pretty much useless as a parent. her mother, deb, was a bar fly who would go home with almost any man who’d so much as buy her a drink. she inevitably ended up pregnant with chloe, but was woefully unprepared for motherhood. this led to chloe growing up without much structure, forced to be independent. the home was dysfunctional, as the only thing worse than deb’s parenting skills was her taste in men. chloe often found herself having to bandage up her mother’s wounds or with wounds of her own after drunken altercations.  — all things considered, chloe did well in school. though socially, she struggled. it was hard making friends when she couldn’t invite them over without fear they’d walk in and find her mother passed out on the couch. or when people made fun of her due to rumors about her mother. chloe never had much money or nice things in general. and though this made it harder to fit in, it also instilled a fiery work ethic in her. by sixteen she was working two jobs, trying to study for her algebra tests while manning a mcdonald’s drive through or babysitting local kids.  — with everything going on in her life, chloe barely had time to breathe, let alone eat or sleep. with exhaustion taking its toll and SATs coming up, she began buying adderall to help her get through long days and nights. later, her mother began dating a scummy dealer and chloe would steal from his stash, developing a cocaine habit. but chloe was always good at making herself and her life look like something it wasn’t. she mostly did it on social media, after finally saving up enough to buy an iphone.  — at age seventeen, chloe petitioned for early graduation. and with her teachers basically clamouring over themselves to write her letters of recommendation, she was set for college. however, she had no idea what she wanted to do. her instagram had developed a surprisingly decent following for a girl from bumfuck missouri, mostly due to her seemingly “perfect” life. she loved the internet. her instagram followers didn’t know that she lived in a trailer or that her mom was a falling-down drunk. unlike her small town where reputation preceded people, on the internet, people only knew what she wanted them to know. she could make her life be anything. she could reinvent herself. so she’d put together cute outfits, not letting her followers know everything she wore she scoured for at goodwill. or take a carefree selfie, everyone unaware that just an hour before she’d been sobbing due to being pushed over an end table by her mother’s boyfriend. or she’d post food pictures, not saying how she had to drive 45 minutes just to get to the local whole foods and spent her entire paycheck on five items. she was incredibly talented at polishing the turd that was her life and making herself seem like a cool “it-girl” that others would want to be.    — in two years, chloe capitalized on her love for social media by starting a YouTube channel and turning her instagram into an aesthetic wet dream. currently, she has 375k instagram followers, 120k YouTube subscribers and an ebook published. she’s reinvented herself as a vegan lifestyle blogger. her aesthetic is cute cafes and green juices, smoothie bowls, selfies, bikini shots, sponsored outfit posts...the usual cringe.  — she moved to new york at eighteen. and with the city at her disposal, it became easier to live the lifestyle she had to try so hard to fake back in rural missouri. her pages grew to what they are today during her stay in new york, after which she applied to lockwood at age nineteen to study social media marketing.   — however, all that glitters is not gold. chloe isn’t exactly honest with her followers. for example, her skinny body - which she attributes to yoga and veganism - is mostly due to her cocaine addiction which got worse while in new york. she rarely eats. she’s promoting a healthy lifestyle, posting self love quotes and publishing a vegan recipe ebook yet snorting cocaine and stress smoking cigarettes. she’s practically telling people “if you follow my diet, you can look like me”, meanwhile she doesn’t even follow her own diet. she often pretends to use products just to get ad revenue. or buys something, does something or goes somewhere just for a picture opportunity. like posing with a plate of pasta just to throw it away after. so even though she portrays herself as perfect, she’s far from it. 

PERSONALITY

— chloe is obsessed with portraying her life as perfection. she’s borderline neurotic about it. she barely sees herself as a person anymore, but instead as a brand...as something to be marketed and for public consumption. social media is her career and it’s what pulled her out of poverty. it’s her only source of income, and the fear of going back to working retail and struggling between multiple jobs is always one hanging over chloe’s head. she’s absolutely not a rich kid who had everything handed to her, though you’d never know it because she refuses to talk about her past, going so far as to say her parents are dead and lie about where she’s from.  — she’s definitely fraudulent, and there’s no excusing that. she perpetuates an unattainable perfect life to her followers, which is one of the biggest issues with social media. however, she doesn’t do it out of spite or a desire to deceive, but rather she almost feels as though if her life looks perfect, her real problems don’t exist.   — chloe is a go-getter and takes initiative in her endeavors. she’s very business savvy, though that doesn’t mean she’s always been. when first coming to new york and growing her brand, she did do some things that made her uncomfortable. she took advice from predatory people under the guise of caring and only through that, she learned to advocate for herself. it also put another nail in the coffin of her ability to trust others. she’s busy and has little time for bullshit. that coupled with her trust issues lead to most of her relationships not working out well. she also fears abandonment and opening up to people, as she’s ashamed of her past and her imperfections.  — if she had a reputation around campus, it’d probably be as little miss perfect, which is a persona that can be grating. she’s generally sweet, though can be blunt and bold. she’s definitely outspoken about things she believes in and can be found handing out flyers to get more vegan options in the dining hall or standing up to a misogynistic frat boy at a kegger. but she’s also performative, not feeling real unless people are watching. doing things to be perceived a certain way instead of just being authentic.

gabe was born and raised in new york city, something that he definitely could never romanticize for the life of him. his dad is a successful businessman, though richard leitner’s knack for alcohol and a rocky past with substance abuse didn’t stop short until gabe was sporting new bruises at school.

his mother, isabella, a loving and talented housewife, also fell victim to richard’s abuse. a long history of mental illness didn’t particularly help to make gabe’s household bearable either.

he eventually just moved in with his aunt and took his mom along when he was like 15/16 because dad’s physical abuse had gotten too out of hand and mom wasn’t well enough to raise him on her own

he deals with his share of clinical depression. he felt like he needed to act as a protector for his family -- until eventually, isabella attempted suicide while his aunt, adalene, was away. he was seventeen and had to call 911 himself before isabella was able to succeed. 

he’s only been in love one and a half times… once was a girl he spent all his time with named zelda who lived in his building but never confessed feelings for. her family often took him in when he was young and some nights were particularly bad. the other love was one of his best friends, eli, who would defend him in school since the seventh grade. he eventually moved away in high school.

he’s very smart! kept to his studies rather well for someone who was expected to be a burnout by his peers. a total nerd for books.

at lockwood because his father is an alumni 

bisexual but isn’t really into anyone v easily. has a lot of trust issues and issues with intimacy

very cold/stoic on the outside but is actually very nice. sarcasm can get to level 3000 but it’s usually in the form of goodhearted banter

neurotic as ALL HELL and sometimes very awkward he’s just fkn weird sometimes

- levi park, second son of a famous astrophysicist and a very nice housewife who wanted nothing more than to raise kids her parents would be proud to call their grandchildren, is a mess of a boy

- the thing about pressure is it can make rocks into diamonds but it can also make things explode. while his parents pressured him into being a perfect student, levi’s brother pressured him into rebelling, and in the end levi turned into a kid a bit dependant on adderall bc it helped him stay up and study to get perfect grades after partying all night so everyone would be pleased with him

- his brother stopped being pleased with him when levi was around seventeen and accidentally outed himself as bi, forcing his brother to out himself as a homophobic jerk. long story short, his brother was also a bit of a violent homophobic jerk, and things didn’t end well for any of the involved parties, but we don’t really talk about it

- there’s a lot levi doesn’t talk about, like how his parents somehow ended up siding with his brother in that mess, or how lost he feels in his own skin, because feelings are overrated and he’d rather kick back, find himself a joint and pretend he’s not still stressing over his exams (which he always, always is) because it’s too ingrained in him to always pretend.

darla was in fact named after the little girl from the little rascals. she likes her name, but gets a lot little annoyed with “where’s alfalfa” jokes. she’ll probably just roll her eyes at the jokes, but if she’s had enough she’ll snap.

she’s probably the sweetest person you’ll ever meet. she’ll help you in any way she can, she’ll offer advice and keep her mouth closed if you tell her anything that’s personal, and she won’t judge you based on appearance or opinion. she’s judges solely on the heart and personality. 

although she’s sweet, if you piss her off bad enough... she’ll go ape shit. she comes from an italian family who’s been associated with the mafia for as long as the de fazzio bloodline has been around. she herself has never been involved in the business or distribution part of it, but she knows enough. she pretty much steers clear of it though. however, she does know the right people to call if she wants someone to disappear, cause she doesn’t like getting her hands dirty. except for once. but we don’t talk about that because thinking of it pisses her off.

darla has a one year old baby girl named scout. she was born with down syndrome. while the rest of the de fazzio family had to get used to it and were concerned, darla was just happy that baby scout was born healthy. as for scout’s father... the second he saw little scout, he knew something was wrong. after he heard that it was down syndrome, he told darla he couldn’t handle a baby with a disability and he left the hospital. although she’s seen him around, she can never get close enough to talk to him so she’s given up hope that he’ll come around to his senses.

she’s brought scout to campus with her to turn something in or return to get something she forgot (even had to bring her to class once), so people probably know them just by ��the girl with the baby’, but darla is pretty friendly and will talk to anybody, so she might have a lot of acquaintances. 

ever since she started high school, she’s been a vlogger. she had a pretty good following because she was doing things that were popular (harmless challenges, unboxings, hauls, etc.), but she got a lot more traffic after she announced her pregnancy to her followers, and even more after her made the vlog that introduced scout. she doesn’t do the challenges or themed vlogs anymore, but she does vlog about life in general, about nursing school, about how the day’s gone and just normal things family vloggers vlog about

she’s in the nursing program in hopes of becoming a neonatal nurse practitioner. it’s been hard work, but she’s enjoying it.

in case you were wondering, yes. she’s the one laughing in class. and yes. it’s because of a cat picture.
