From Sci-Fi to Reality: The Potential for Real-Life Mecha Inspired by Gundam!
I've watched mecha anime, the seriesVoltes V,Robotech, Video Senshi Laserion. In fact the great experience is watching Gundam anime.
In recent years, advances in robotics, artificial intelligence, and engineering have brought the idea of real-life mecha closer to reality. Inspired by iconic series like Gundam, researchers and engineers are exploring the possibilities of creating large, human-piloted robots. While we may not have fully functional Gundams yet, the progress made so far is promising. Let's delve into the current developments and the potential future of real mecha.
It happened during 2018
In Japan, engineer Masaaki Nagumo always dreamed of climbing into his very own Mobile Suit Gundam mecha. As an adult, he finally made that dream a reality.
Photos below:Sakakibara Kikai
He created the 28-foot-tall, 7-tonne-heavy LW-Mononofu robot as a project for his employer,Ā industrial machinery maker Sakakibara Kikai, in Japanās Ā Gunma Prefecture. The metal colossus took six years to finish, and is probably the worldās largest anime-inspired robot that you can actually ride in and control. It can moveĀ its arms and fingers, turn its upper body, and walk forward and backward at a snail-like speed of 1km/hour. As any respectable mecha, it also has a weapon ā a metal gun that fires sponge balls at a speed of 87 mph.T
The LW Mononofu can be powered by both a 200-volt AC electricity source and a 24-volt DC battery. Its cockpit featuresĀ levers, pedals and buttons that the rider can use to control the movements of the robot, as well as monitors showing live footage shot by Ā cameras installed at five points on its gigantic body.
its only con is that it can't leave the hangar it was built in, because it is higher than the large door. It has to be dismantled to be taken outā¦
Despit this the enthuthiasts are determined to make the Giant mecha a real.
Well, thanks to the japanese company called Tsubame Industry, that dream is nearly becoming reality. Well, if we can afford paying it, of course. The small Japanese startup recently showcased its newest product, dubbed āARCHAXā, a pilotable robot inspired by Japanese mecha culture. Standing a whopping 4.5 meters tall and weighing around 3.5 tons, this real-life mecha is powered by a 300V battery and can switch from a standing mode to drivable mode, attaining a top speed of 10 kilometers per hour.
Nonetheless,if someone desires to undergo the thrilling journey with the ARCHAX, he has to pay an estimated 400 million yen ($2.75 million) for one.
It's name is inspired by that of the flying dinosaur Archeopteryx ā was recently showcased in a series of videos posted by Tsubame Industry, and the Japanese startup announced that a working version will be presented at the Japan Mobility Show 2023 (formerly the Ā Tokyo Motor Show) in November. As for when the mecha will hit the market, a Tsubame spokesperson said that it is expected to be available in about a year. However, considering the high price tag, the company is targeting wealthy foreign billionaires as potential clients.
Being made of iron and aluminum alloy, while the outer shell consists mainly of FRP (fiber-reinforced plastic). Although the head appears to feature a large Ā camera, it is only for show. In reality, the pilot maneuvering the ARCHAX will have footage captured by 26 different Ā cameras mounted all over the mecha fed into a number of monitors inside the cockpit. The control panel is reportedly similar to that of construction machinery, consisting of two joysticks, a number of pedals, and a touchscreen. Interestingly, the ARCHAX can also be remote-operated.
This mecha can move at a speed of 2 km/h, and in drive mode that speed is increased to 10 km/h. Itās not exactly soaring through the air like in video games, but itās better than just standing still. It can tilt forward a maximum of 20 degrees in stand-up mode and 30 degrees in drive mode, to ensure that it doesnāt fall over. If these values are exceeded, the system shuts down to prevent serious accidents. The mecha is subject to risk assessment in accordance with the safety regulations of construction machinery and robots. His mechanical arms have 5 movable fingers, and it can grab a variety of things, still the weight of them is limited to 15 kilograms, for safety reasons. Trying to lift something heavy could cause the mecha to topple, putting the pilot at risk and damaging it.
Conclusion
The journey from science fiction to reality is a challenging but exciting path. While we may not see fully operational Gundams patrolling our cities in the immediate future, the advancements in robotics, AI, and engineering are bringing us closer to realizing the dream of real-life mecha. The fusion of technology and imagination continues to push the boundaries of what is possible, making the future of mecha an exhilarating topic to watch.

heat wave
this past week was pretty socially busy. on tuesday, S came over to work out. i felt better about the whole moving thing after chatting with her, like i got her blessing to move and confirmation that we'll keep in touch/visit each other. i hope we will still remain close but she seems to be getting busier and busier as she takes on more private practice clients. shortly after this, R and her friend randomly asked if they could come up to use our restroom since they were in the area. i said sure and we got to chat for a bit LOL.
that same night, i met up with A, S, and LW for a comedy show. it was a bit awkward because A was the most excited about coming out (an excuse to get away from mommy duties during the weeknight) and everyone else was kinda meh. we initially planned to meet at 7, but ended up meeting around 7:45pm, right before the start of the show. it was actually nice to all meet up again, despite my nerves. felt like a full circle, since this group was my initial friend group in NYC.
on juneteenth wednesday, i invited new friend LG over to my place for lunch. i made miso mushroom spaghetti and we hung out for about two hours just chatting. we then walked over to the ceramics studio where i practiced for a bit before heading back home. i was pretty tired from the socializing and walking in the extreme heat. the studio was also more full than usual, i'm guessing due to the holiday and people wanting free AC.
i've been intentionally missing my sunday classes, and basically going into the studio on my own time. i prefer practicing when the room is emptier (not full like it usually is when class is in session). i'm socially awkward and i feel like my teacher doesn't like me or gravitate towards me. she's pretty hands off in general, but being there and kinda ignored in comparison to the other students makes me feel like it's not worth going. i officially signed up for another (and last) ceramics semester in brooklyn. it'll keep me occupied for july and aug before heading off to switzerland and moving back.
there has been a heat wave this past week or so. i've been lazy to move about, and been avoiding going out in the day time in general. it's kinda the reverse of the dead cold winters.
work: i don't know how i feel about the new girl A who is taking over my old position. it's been about a month now and she hasn't been much help and has still been working on trainings/gaining access. she also doesn't seem very eager to help out (in comparison to other new employees i've seen). we had a brief chat a few weeks ago on the phone, and i saved her number. this week, i texted her about something work related and included my name. her response was "i'm sorry, who is this?" *facepalm*
friends: this is pretty sad, but i was unfriended by B last week. it's the first time in my life that a "close friend" has ever done something like this. there has been drama surrounding her and her two sisters since her bachelorette and wedding last fall. because one of her sisters moved to NYC and the other one has visited, i would sometimes bring them up in conversation with B (i.e. i saw R/T recently for X, Y, Z). i wasn't sure if their fight was something temporary and they would eventually make up, but B emphasized that she wants to keep her sisters at a distance and asked that i stop mentioning them in conversation.
most importantly, i ended up breaking B's trust. she confided in me about her pregnancy and asked me not to tell anyone. i had kept it a secret until weeks after she told her parents. i had assumed that once the parents knew, it wouldn't be a secret within the family. and i assumed wrong, because me bringing it up to her sister R stirred up a lot of drama š¢. now, she probably sees me as siding with her sisters and it's easier to cut me off. just earlier this year, she also cut off her maid of honor/best friend for other reasons. i'm sorry for breaking her trust and wish her well.
leisure: matt went to jury duty 4x this week and they have been more or less ~6 hour days! it's so much better for quality time than the 12 hour days in a very stressful environment. we were finally able to chat more about the move, play overcooked 2 most nights (it's so fun!), watched some presumed innocent, and have ample sleep. last night, we attended our first concert together: odesza at MSG. it was a bit too loud and flashy for my taste but i enjoyed the experience more so as a one and done type of thing. it was the closest experience we've had to clubbing/partying out here.
logistics: tesla seems to have really bad customer service for such a huge company. it felt impossible for me to get in touch with anyone via phone, and they're not very responsive via the app or text. ugh. still trying to figure out the pick up thing. apartment searching has been tough, lol. we were considering just doing the easy thing and transferring to a different apartment within our current network, but the prices in pasadena are pretty outrageous. TBD.

c1x8 ghosts I've watched a good amount of these!
Why was she submerged & then let out air & then she floated? Makes no sense.
Castle poker night; Espt dealing; Martha wanting to continue; "the working stiff" & then all the real cops laugh; Espt calling her "mrs R" <3; "Well, frankly, I prefer strip because even when you lose, you win." MARTHA (their faces XD); this entire scene is good. I love all their faces & the music playing & just everything here. KB: Man up, "bro" Martha! Shut up! The music I love the interactions between all of them. I think this is why I liked this scene, we get to see them as People. KR: Murder never sleeps, Ms. R. JE: Yeah, and neither do we. watching this entire scene again bc it's so adorable.
Motor oil is clear before it is used tho... in one-gallon jugs??? That sucks, lots of work.
KB: What about tonight? Anyone strange coming in or going out? Clerk: *shakes head* Jasmine, a deep voiced, bearded individual with long blonde hair, high heels, & a short skirt: Hey, Bill. Clerk/Bill: Jasmine. How's it hanging? RC: I think you just described half their clientele. lol I love the transcript, it calls Jasmine "tranny hooker" & tbh I wouldn't have it any other way. (Tho at the time the livejournal was written I don't think it was meant in a positive way.)
Castle, you move past the girlfriend no later than page 50. Love a good notebook.
Or so u think. Having seen this I know she had a LOT of secrets.
Ryan just making castle a coffee uwu, point for the rystle fans. There was an easier way of saying that espt. KR: Maybe Castle was right. Maybe this is about sex. JE: The lady was a soccer mom. RC: Come by my daughter's school at about 3:30. The place is like happy hour. (Ryan & castle share a look & ryan points at his nose) Their physicality, The nodding, the hands, the head shaking, the cocking & tilting, the turning, all of it.
Ah yes, grab a dead baby's ssn. Just like the first lesbian who got married in ireland. She was straight but legally married the man's dead sister.
MR: Kate Beckett is not some bimbo who needs big, strong you to look out for her. She's a real woman. And a real woman does not want to be patronized. AC: She's right, Dad. I love how he has these two beautiful women with him.
Ooh true crime. Neat.
Lol death over easy & the diner in the background. Did u want those yolks murdered? XD I'm (not) funny
RC: Yeah. Captain, the mayor, and Judge Markway. You know. Your boss. Your boss's boss, and the guy that signs your warrants.
Whose house is this? Lee Wax? the door is just open? sus. ngl I HATE stripes on a screen. Lol the shock at her being a woman. "I am the cops" Your publisher is so right. Murdered??? RC: Well, given your unhealthy obsession for her, I'm going to take a wild stab at you.
Oh yeah, Not a bad idea. RC: But you did anyway. LW: RC: Any true crime writer worth their salt is gonna check her story with other sources. KB: What for? LW: My book. RC: Whoa. You're gonna go through with it? But Cynthia's dead. LW: Correction. Cynthia wasĀ murdered. Which means her memoir just became a true crime story, Which is kind of my forte. You'd be doing me a huge favor. KB: You know, I-- I would love to, but I have a whole list of writers who are hanging around, looking for favors. So, thank you very much, though, for cooperating. And, um, catch you on the dark side. These two could totally have a fun night together & as another writer castle def feels for her.
Poor pike, talking to the family & prying up the past, for a book? for HER? I like adam. I like him a lot. Poor boy.
RC: It is a good story. It's a great story. Personally, I would just write a happier ending for that family.
At least he has a job. So you KNEW cynthia was writing the book? I like Swanstorm.
Ooh stories not matching up. She WAS writing for sympathy. Creativity is doing stuff, art is knowing what to keep.
KB: You talked to the publisher? RC: I am somewhat known in those circles????
Noooo not adam pike! AP: Because I wanted to look her in the eye. I wanted to tell her none of it mattered. Her blood money wouldn't buy our forgiveness.
Ah, they knew cynthia was alive, the money was coming.
Oh a random stranger. Pointing the finger to some rando. Wow castle lmao thru the glass.
Writer battle huh. If she was trying to get sympathy she would have told wax abt the money.
RC: Remind me if I ever decide to write a memoir, to never write a memoir.
They have a corkboard today not a whiteboard...?
Love the poker night. Castle is just... friends with these guys. Ooh it's their rematch. Judge: Oh, do us a favor, Detective. Beat his pants off. RC: Yes, please. Beat my pants off, if you dare. RM: Beckett, do me proud. Judge: To hell with "proud." Make him cry like a little girl. He said to call him bob. Castle is so... obnoxious. "Who's a good little boy? Who's a good little boy? You are. And you are. And you are." Judge: Don't you ever get tired of winning, Castle? Castle: Yeah, you'd think so, right? But no.
Yay all of them getting fancy coffees. Esposito has his coffee, & ryan made coffee for himself & castle, & beckett is getting her own coffee. It makes me think that ryan actually knows castle's coffee order. He's made esposito's before (or he does later in the series) & there was that time castle & beckett had their coffees but espt & ryan stole them & took a sip & then switched bc someone likes their coffee like the other. Castle gave beckett's coffee to ryan I think so beckett & ryan like the same coffee, but castle has also drank beckett's coffee before so maybe his order & beckett's are similar enough... idk bro. Do I care? Not actually that much. I just wish someone would watch thru the entire show, take note of all the coffee, & then present me with the facts & conclusion.
Wow they have houses? Thought they were living in NY. You did what you had to do to survive & that's ok! I have a friend from pennsylvania.
Didn't recognize her until castle said 20 years later & possibly scarred. Mail order to new york. I love the audio. I first watched this while recovering from a bad sunburn lol. I like her! She really is confessing everything. Tho Mary/Susan could be lying too ig. Suicide in the oil thing? really? Who is that dramatic? Audio <3 Part manslaughter, part self defense, part murder.
No rick, cynthia was the one who contacted wax. Altho ig you're theorizing well. r u two flirting or hating? Oh it is hate nvm. RC: Oh, and one more thing. One day, and one day not far from now, I'm gonna use this in a book. Weird vest she has there.
RC: Next time, I guess I'll just try that massage parlor on 2nd Avenue. BRUH
Just has a deck with him (was probs planning it tbh). I remember sneaking over to sit at the wrong lunchtable & playing cards with the 9th graders. I remember a story from my english teacher, she ran a poker ring gambling for who got to sit at the table. Lol mano a mujer hand to hand, (like head to head,) not man to man bro. Her gummy bears <3 it's probs what she has in the bowl on her desk. RC: Aside from my muscular arms? XD not funny (I say, having found it funny)
Aight that's it for now. TBH I'll probably watch an audio commentary version tonight instead of liveblogging bc I want to work out & it's hard to work out while you're trying constantly

I've identified as ace for about 5 years but for me I don't feel proud about it? I want to...
I'm trans and also ID as bi, so people don't really get how I can be bi and ace... So I don't make a big deal about my asexuality and even when I'm talking about my identity, or anyone is. My asexuality never comes up.
I don't know if you can relate to this at all really but my question is:
How did you come to accept your asexuality? Was it a struggle for you? And do you have any advice for someone that's shunned that part of themself for so long they've no idea how to even think of being proud of it?
Have a great day/night š»
Oooooh. Hm. Well this may or may not be helpful, but here we go:
I am currently only functioning with the one label. "Asexual" is my thing! Yay! I have my flag! I find my flag in gifsets and art and buttons and things! Cool! [points at the greyscale-and-purple] Look, it me!
I might be aromantic as well? But I'm less connected with that label, and not really sure if it fits. It probably does? Might not? idk. Either way, I don't see the aro flag and go "It me!" And tbh, that's totally fine. I can have parts of myself that are exciting and that I connect with and that make me proud. And I can have parts that are like "You know, idk, that's not really a big deal to me. It's part of me, sure, but it doesn't really impact me right now."
You don't have to be OUT AND LOUD AND PROUD of every bit of yourself. Some things can just kinda be there.
I don't really make a Big Deal about my sexuality IRL, either. I wear an ace ring because it makes me happy, and because I've found and been found by a few other aces that way. I have an ace flag pin that I made, because it signals others that I am Part Of The Group, Too. I have never really come out in the dramatic sense, never sat anyone down and explained to them my ace-ness. But if they pick up on the symbols I wear, cool! But nbd if they don't.
Most times, my pride is less prideful and more comfortable. Identifying as ace just makes me feel right in my own head and life and how I relate to the world.
The times when I have felt pride is around other people. Participating in covering this website in rainbows during June makes me feel pride, because I'm doing it alongside others. Talking to other aces and swapping urls of etsy shops that sell black rings makes me feel pride, because I've made that connection and found another person like me.
And I'll tell you what, I have never felt more prideful than I did when a friend of mine came to me and told me that she'd recently started identifying as ace, and it's because she had seen me and just how normal I made it just by talking about it. That by watching me, she realized that what she was feeling was normal and actually pretty cool and not wrong or scary at all.
[chef kiss]
I'm giving you a really long answer, I'm sorry š
But yeah. Pride is cool. Being comfortable is better. Pride follows that pretty easily. You probably know this better than I do, with your being trans! When you find something that seems to click your soul into place like a puzzle piece, you feel that moment of "Ahhh.... yes, that's right" like a good warm blanket. Flags can come later.
I can expand on the story later, but basically how I accepted my asexuality (after several months of waffling "am I? no. but am I? i mean. nah. but maybe?") was that I essentially said to myself "I am asexual. And that's pretty cool."
#a longer and sadder bit of the story was that at the time when I first identified as ace#there was a much larger community on this blue website#and our memes were better#I do miss the days of cake and swords and dragons#at some point this website decided that aces exist to be Debated About#even the posts in support of us are like 'Forget what the haters say - I think you belong! :D'#and I'm just always like '.... what haters. why are we talking about haters. who said I didn't?'#I'd rather just talk about cake.#lw ace hour

Iām queer.
Also I have an Etsy shop selling my linocut art and patches n stuff.

-I play bass guitar but not in a band or anything. Just a hobby Iāve kept to myself for like 4 years. Also I can play ocarina.
-Games I like are: Minecraft, Kirby, Zelda, PokƩmon, Smash bros, Dead or Alive, Little Big Planet
-I love anime, but Iām not really into shÅnen. I like experimental anime and psychological thrillers including: Shiki, Serial Experiments Lain, Texhnolyze, Monster, Ergo Proxy, Mononoke, Paranoia Agent, Pet Shop of Horrors, and Ping Pong the Animation.

-Bojack Horseman, A:tLA, Community, Psych, and the classic and new Twilight Zone are some of my favourite non anime shows.
-My favourite movie is Predestination (2014). And if you havenāt seen it, but like a good fucked up sci fi thriller, go watch it now. And donāt spoil it for yourself, itās got a good twist.
-I like reading nonfiction, but I also really like old gothic horror and psychological thrillers.

I only slept 4 hours but Iām FINALLY awake at a decent hour š AND itās not much but honestly fair lol I woke up to 151.2 lbs š„ŗš
So I finally felt comfortable enough to put it into the app I use to track my weight, and I realized the lightest I was last was was 157.0lbs on January 20th. I was struggling for sooo long, but it still says that Iāve basically been losing 0.75lbs every week since around then. My goal was 1lb per week since I hit 160 cause I figured it would slow down and 2lbs would be too aggressive, and considering how much I flopped around for awhile I was honestly surprised it was that close. So I took my measurements today too, and Iām down about another half inch all around.
Literally feel so high rn; everything is falling into place for once š„ŗ now if only I ace my exam and can get the boy Iām seeing to text me back today will be perfect š
My stomach still looks so big and especially now in comparison but if Iām losing weight all over then no complaints. My problem areas still feel so huge, but if Iām THIS close to 150 then they wonāt be a problem for long. Hopefully I can go for a coffee walk this morning when Starbucks opens and then do a workout later after my exam or something, cause Iāve been slacking lol. Iām pretty sure Iām getting my period soon too though so I REALLY want to be lower tomorrow (duh goes without saying lmfao) but it might be unpredictable the next few days. Weāll see. I feel like maybe Iāll do a planned binge when I hit 149.0lbs just to be safeā¦ but idk you always SAY youāll do a planned binge but once you reach a new lw you never want to actually do one right š
Not to let a bunch of numbers dictate my day but todays a good day šš plus I found a pink monster in the fridge so itās starting off good šš

INTERVIEW: LAJON WITHERSPOON OF SEVENDUST
Interview by Ace Sims
Hear the interview now or read on below
http://rockrevoltmagazine.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/11/Lajon-Witherspoon-2-Edit.mp3
RockRevolt:Ā This is Ace with RockRevolt Magazine I am talking with Lajon (Witherspoon) of Sevendust.Ā How are you doing today?
Lajon Witherspoon:Ā I am fantastic.Ā Trying to be as positive as I can living in this obscure world we are living in now.
RR:Ā Well youāve got some positives, you just released your thirteenth album, wow.
LW:Ā Itās pretty crazy to believe that, the word that Iām trying to use is relevant.Ā I canāt believe we are still relevant in the music industry today.Ā Itās a dream come true to still be relevant.
RR:Ā Released about a month ago, Iāve seen some good success.Ā Youāve got the Chris Cornell cover on there.
LW:Ā Check this out can you believe for the first time we went number one on Billboard for the album and I get to have a Billboard Award, which Iām excited about (laughs).
RR:Ā The first time after thirteen albums.Ā Sevendust has been one of them bands, you guys are road dogs.Ā You put on this amazing, energetic live performance.Ā
LW:Ā We said at the beginning Sevendust is like a sport.Ā I feel like a seasoned athlete, maybe now and old athlete (laughing).Ā Itās something that when we go out on stage we leave it all out there.Ā Thatās where we donāt worry about the bills, regular life stuff.Ā Itās a world where we can take that hour or two to not only release our energy but the people that come to see us they donāt have to think about all the crazy stuff going on.Ā Music is a healer.Ā Iāve always said that.
RR:Ā I donāt think there is anyone who has seen one of the thousands of shows you have put on that could deny that you bring it every night.Ā Iām sure there are nights some of the guys arenāt feeling it but nobody would ever notice it at a live show.Ā
LW:Ā Thatās funny I just got off a Zoom from Germany and he asked how many shows weāve done and have I ever been sick on stage.Ā I canāt say how many shows weāve done but its been a lot.Ā But if someone is under the weather, like you mentioned, once we get on stage I think that energy from everyone thatās out there that under the weather feeling goes away.Ā If we could bottle that up I think that would solve a lot of problems (laughing).Ā If we could bottle that up we might have a cure for Corona.Ā
RR:Ā Hell with the vaccine weāve got the Sevendust! With this being your thirteenth album, with COVID was the recording process a little different for you? Was it harder, did it change any of your normalityās of recording?
LW:Ā Luckily we were able to do this album before the pandemic and not having that cloud anything.Ā I promise you if we were in the studio and this was going on and somebody sneezed we would have shut it down.Ā So we got very lucky.Ā When it got weird, when COVID hit and all of a sudden we were getting asked by certain people to not put the album out until 2021.Ā Are you kidding me? Sevendust, we are musical people we had this album sitting we felt like it would have been ridiculous not to put this album out.Ā That what people need right now is music.Ā Itās something thatās going to get us over this hump.Ā Hopefully we can look back at this time, reflect and realize that music was something that got us through it.Ā Not seeing the bands, I know itās crazy everyone having to be at home.Ā Thatās why we did that live stream to kind of bring back some type of normalcy.Ā It was important for us to bring this album out even though we were asked not to.Ā Looks whatās going on, people seem to be enjoying it and Iām very happy that we had this opportunity.Ā God knows whatās going to happen in the future.Ā We donāt know.
youtube
RR:Ā I can tell you myself and many others are glad you didnāt take the advice that was giving.Ā When it came out my Facebook timeline was nothing but oh my god new music from Sevendust.Ā So when it comes to my friends they were very grateful you did not take that advice.Ā
LW:Ā Iām so glad we didnāt either.Ā You know I feel like at this point in our career weāve done it long enough to know right from wrong.Ā What should be done and the way it should be done.Ā I think it was a very good decision amongst all of us.Ā
RR:Ā Like you said what the world needs right now is an escape from all of the nonsense and chaos.Ā With this second wave hitting we have a little something extra to knuckle down and listen to while we are getting through this second wave.
LW:Ā Absolutely, you said it right.Ā Nobody says that, second wave.Ā Weāve got all these knuckleheads running around not believing it, how could they not believe it.Ā
RR:Ā Like we were talking about earlier you and I live in almost the same neighborhood, not sure if you say the viral video referring to the mask mandate as Nazi Germany? It just came out in the last couple days here in Johnson County.
LW:Ā Oh my god Iām going to look it up.Ā I have not seen it, wow.Ā Itās ridiculous, if we could just get those people on a boat and let them hang out in the middle of the ocean that would be better.
RR:Ā Youāve done a lot of other cool stuff throughout this.Ā Labor Day weekend I was driving and that Friday I had Octane (Sirius XM radio) on and you hosted a virtual festival.
LW:Ā How did you like that?
RR:Ā I thought it was fantastic.Ā It was super cool hearing the stories.Ā Kind of like being backstage.Ā Hearing the stories of festivals.Ā It made my five and a half hour drive awesome.Ā
LW:Ā Man, thank you.Ā Thatās really cool, no one has said anything about that.Ā It was so fun for me to do even though I recorded that in my studio at home.Ā It was really cool because they said it was going to sound like we were really backstage.Ā It made it fun for me to do even though I wasnāt there.Ā It didnāt sound like it you know what I mean.
RR:Ā Yeah, it was super cool I enjoyed it.Ā Me and my girlfriend always go on a canoe trip each year and listening to the stories I was like I remember that.Ā It was very nostalgic.Ā
LW:Ā Cool, thanks so much man.Ā I told them lets do that again, so hopefully we can make that happen.Ā Iāll let you know.Ā It was a cool experience.
RR:Ā That would be great, Iāll definitely be tuning in.Ā Thatās actually been my lifelong dream to be a radio DJ, so I listen to all that stuff.Ā I love hearing all of that.Ā Just different off the wall stuff that isnāt just music being played on the radio.Ā I enjoy the hell out of it.Ā
LW:Ā Right on man.Ā So how are you and the family doing during crazy time.
RR:Ā You know weāre doing good.Ā In real life Iām in the transportation industry so I have not been affected that much.Ā Weāre in an office of about 50 people and all but 4 of us have been coming in everyday.Ā I live three miles from the office so I said Iām not packing up and going home.Ā Thereās 4 of us, we can stay socially distanced.Ā We are enjoying the things we can.Ā We are having football parties every weekend with just us at the house.Ā Cooking up a big old feast every week watching the Chiefs do what they do.Ā
LW:Ā Yeah thatās what we are doing.Ā Weāve only been to a couple places out.Ā We havenāt been to a restaurant to sit down.Ā Weāve only done curbside.Ā Itās been weird but I feel like I guess we donāt really have to go to a restaurant to sit down.Ā I told my wife you know what when we go to a restaurant nobody wants to talk anyway (laughing).
RR:Ā I think Iāve been out once to sit down at a restaurant since this whole thing started.Ā And it was like yeah everything seems cool but lets not do this again.
LW:Ā Lets make our home the most fun we can have.Ā Thatās what we try to do with our kids.Ā Try to make it so they donāt want to leave.Ā You know what itās not that bad here.Ā
RR:Ā Since the Chiefs play Sunday night Iām getting up at 6am Sunday morning firing up the smoker and putting on 4 pork butts and about 5 slabs of ribs and have a nice little family get together at home for the game.Ā Itās going to be a good time.Ā
LW:Ā I might swing by and get one of those butts for my grill.
RR:Ā Come on by.Ā I have this giant smoker and Iām like Iām going to smoke 1 pork butt so I tell all my friends come over drop off whatever you want and Iāll cook it.Ā
LW:Ā Thatās a good plan.Ā Last time I smoked something I was up at 5am and I told my wife Iām going to have to be really focused to do that again because the only people that ate it was me and Nico from Sidewise (band).Ā I did all this work just for Nico to eat it.Ā
RR:Ā Lets talk about the solo album you are working on.
LW:Ā Absolutely Iāve working with my very good friend Sahaj from Ra.Ā Weāve been working on this for probably over a year.Ā We started working on it in California for fun.Ā Then it started turning into something, a sound Iām very excited about.Ā Now weāve moved back to the mid-west, came out to the farmhouse and we finished up three more songs.Ā I think I have an albums worth of material.Ā At the beginning of the new year we will be shopping for a record deal.Ā I canāt believe Iām saying Iām looking for a record deal for my solo stuff, I never would have thought that I would say that one day being in Sevendust.Ā But itās definitely been a beautiful outlet for me to be able to do something different.Ā
RR:Ā What brough this on.Ā Are you just trying to explore a different side of you musical inspiration?
LW:Ā Iāve always done different music.Ā Itās just the first time in my life to be able to sit down and focus on it.Ā Sevendust is the most important thing.Ā Now the opportunity to get my music out there is very important.Ā At the age I am now and the way things are going on in the world.Ā I like to say this, I feel like life and music is like a chess game and so Iāve just been kind of waiting to make the right move.Ā It might be a boring game to have to wait but at the end of the day hopefully it will work the way I want it to.Ā
RR:Ā What would you say are some of the differences are between your solo and Sevendust?
LW:Ā Iām not afraid to get a little country and a little bit of rock n roll.Ā And a lot of soul.Ā Thereās also some dance beats, this album will be able to be played on the radio and clubs.Ā I think it will be a universal thing.Ā That what I want my music and voice to be heard as.Ā Not just as, I love Sevendust and thatās my thing but I want to be known as a singer and remembered as a singer, voice and artist.Ā Someone who loves music and not just one type.
RR:Ā Sounds like you are putting a lot of your personality in there.Ā I know the times Iāve met and talked to you, youāve always been this fun, vibrant, full of energy, happy, always with a smile on your face.Ā Thatās kind of sounds like thatās what you are going to put into this album.Ā
LW:Ā Oh absolutely.Ā Thereās some sad stuff but Iām definitely happy to.Ā
RR:Ā Iāve enjoyed being able to talk some music with you.Ā Congratulations on the new Sevendust album Blood and Stone, everybody go get that.Ā Released on October 23rd.Ā I know I canāt wait to hear what youāve got on this solo album.Ā Ā

This Neck Pillow Looks Weird AF But Will Save You On Your Next Flight
Ā This Neck Pillow Looks Weird AF But Will Save You On Your Next Flight
Travel = great.
Jet lag? Not so much. And when you simply CANNOT sleep in a cramped airplane seat, jet lag tiredness turns into outright grouchy exhaustion.
^your brain telling your body to forget it's in an airplane and go the EFF TO SLEEP^
But fret not, fellow travelers: The Bcozzy chin-supporting neck pillow is here to help all your sleeping-on-a-plane woes.
You know that thing where you fall asleep and your head snaps forward (it even happens when you wear traditional u-shaped neck pillows)? NO MORE.
This super-soft pillow is customizable so you can adjust it based on the length of your neck and your preferred sleeping position. Tighten it for extra support under your chin, or loosen it to doze off to the side ā it's up to you!
Have a lucky window seat? Double it up to rest comfortably without hurting your head or sliding down!
PLUS, it's machine washable (plane germs are gross, guys), and it can attach to your suitcase of backpack with a handy-dandy snap-on loop!
The fleece outside will keep you on freezing overnight flights without overheating you.
This baby has a whopping 2,000 five-star reviews, and a 4.3/5 star average rating.
Let's check some of 'em out:
"I bought three of these. One each for my husband and me, and one for a gift. We just flew across the country twice and loved using this travel pillow. It wasn't too hot around our necks and kept our heads supported while we slept on the plane. I wore mine during the entire flights, even when awake. I was able to comfortably read and watch a movie on my tablet while wearing the pillow. Rotating the pillow around your neck adjusts the thickness, so you can customize the fit and support. The pillow has a handy snapping strap on the back so you can hook it to your backpack, luggage, purse or belt loop for hands-free carrying. I have bought lots of different travel pillows and in my opinion, this one is the best!" āLW
"We were heading out for a cross-world trip to Thailand from Las Vegas. I have NEVER been able to use a neck pillow, as they were all either too flimsy or just pushed my head forward. My wife and I were researching different things and she found this. More expensive than some of the others, so of course I resisted, but she won. Glad she did! This was awesome! The way that this wrapped around your neck, with a smaller/thinner design behind your neck and a larger/thicker area in front of your chin, held my head upright perfectly throughout the whole trip. I slept 10 hours straight. This can get warm if the airplane is warm and you could sweat, but we had pretty good AC going in the plane. We bought five for our whole family, and they all loved the pillows. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!" āAngela Arnold
"Listen people. I have been flying since I was six years old. I'm almost 50. I'm tall and I have a long neck. This neck thing is f-ing awesome. I doubted it at first that I could sleep sitting straight up but it happened. It finally happened. I slept for 7 straight hours from London to Seattle and my neck did not hurt in the slightest when I woke up. I didn't take cold pills to sleep, I just wrapped this crazy thing around my neck and closed my eyes. I've already purchased one for my daughter and my sister purchased one as well. Thank you BCOZZY. This is a life changing tool." āErica
It even comes in kid's sizes so the whole family can get their snoozes in.
The best part? Put this pillow on and your seatmate will proooobably take the hint and *not* start a three-hour conversation with you.
Get it from Amazon for $29.97 (available in six colors and three sizes: adult, child, and XL adult).

This isnāt a question but I just wanted to say I was super happy when I found out u were ace cause when I first figured it out it felt like I was the only one and itās always a treat when I follow someone for non-ace content and find out theyāre also ace. Itās so validating and exciting to find other ace people who have the same interests as me. Thanks for being here I really love all ur content!!
<3 Nonny, I legitimately feel that way every time I see mutuals on my activity page reblogging my ace stuff. Or yeah, same, when I follow someone for non-ace reasons and then they're ace, and I'm like "SAME HAT!"
It's just nice to see other aces out and about, living life, just being their complete and messy selves.
Twice now I've been out in meatspace and spotted another person wearing an ace ring, and getting the absolute bliss of being able to go:

HEY. Every once in a while I reblog something ace related, and I'll see people in the notes who have some Questions, and maybe Questions About Themselves, so...
Y'all got any questions about asexuality? Identifying as ace? How I knew, how I figured it out?
Anon is on!
