Lena doesn't remember the scream. Or seeing the blood. All she remembers is Kara forgot to put on her super suit. "Kara," she says distantly, but doesn't quite hear herself. "Kara, darling, your suit."

It's a trauma response, or so she's told later on by the therapist in charge of interviewing them all. God, Lena wishes that person luck. Lena chuckles dryly. Nothing's funny.

Lena watches as Jude's foot is cleaned up and bandaged. Callie is profusely apologizing to Kara about why she sneaked out. And then the case worker shows up.

"Hi, I'm looking for Jude Matthews? He should have been brought in by his foster family." Stef Adams says. The caseworker has arrived, and Lena feels everything go at once:

"It was my fault, Ms. Adams." Callie shouted as she held onto the child in her arms, Kenzie, Lena and Kara's oldest. "Don't let us go without a fight, please Kara. Lena, I'm so so so so sorry, I'll never talk back again."

Even she knows that one is a bit of an extreme.

"Honey, no one's taking you anywhere." Lena said at last, recovering the quickest out of the adults.

"No one can!" Kenzie shouted. "mommy and jeju would never let that happen." Kenzie insisted.

"Your ie is correct, in'uh. You are ours." Kara said warmly. "Your caseworker still has to check on Jude though."

"Okay." Callie sniffled. "Okay. That- that was not fun."

watching/rewatching a show when you already have an established favorite character is great because every time they come on screen it's like

The funny thing is that in your traditional Superman story, Lois Lane is enamoured with big strong heroic Superman and wouldn't give mild-mannered reporter Clark Kent a second glance.

Then in Supergirl you have Lena Luthor, who's like "I need that reporter carnally (oh and there's also a superhero around that's cool)"
