I only just now realized I forgot to post my PFP on here!

This is Cerith, she’s my mermaidsona, initially drawn up as a concept for a sort of b-movie review show where movies about monsters are watched by a monster and she gives her two cents. This is actually how she gets most of her info about the surface world and she doesn’t really get humans so she’s somewhere between naive and constantly confused regarding them, but just a little bit mistrusting given these movies ended up in her home to begin with because people kept dumping the “now pointless” DVDs and VHS tapes in the bay and making everything a mess (don’t litter, kids!). She also has a pet miniature orca calf named Pearl who is basically a cat (as in Pearl owns Cerith and not the other way around) and she dotes on her a lot. I rambled on a lot about her backstory even though now it’s likely I won’t ever actually do a monster movie review series but who knows? XD She’s still very fun to draw though and I hope you guys like her design, too. Hope you enjoy, thank you, and have a great day!

Somebody on the development team hated Luther.

As I was coverting through the TVTropes page of Humongous Entertainment’s biggest franchises I found that there was a deleted scene from Freddi Fish: The Case of the Missing Kelp Seeds left in the game’s files. With a bit of modding, the scene can be reactivated.

But as ObscureNForeign on YouTube found, it was deleted for good reason. Who knew HE had such a dark side to it?

Putt-Putt and Pep and Pajama Sam! After drawing Freddi Fish and Luther I had to draw these kids too. I never played Pajama Sam but I was a big Putt-Putt fan. I mean he's a sweet boy car with a lil dog, how can you not love him?

On November 7, 1994, Humongous Entertainment released the first game in the Freddi Fish point-and-click edutainment series, "Freddi Fish and the Case of the Missing Kelp Seeds."

Originally stylized with pixelated animation, in the same vein as Humongous' other games, Putt-Putt and Fatty Bear, Freddi Fish was changed at the last minute to use hand-drawn animation instead.

The game set the trend for the rest of Humongous' other games after, all using hand-drawn animation, including new series such as Pajama Sam, Spy Fox, and Backyard Sports.

The titular character, Freddi, was also originally meant to be a boy, but game designer Tami Borowick changed her gender to challenge the notion that girls would play as boy characters, but not vice-versa.

The first Freddi Fish game features an iconic soundtrack, composed by George Sanger, evoking a tropical film noir-esque feel that fits the dark uncertainty of the deep ocean, meshing it with the investgative playstyle of the game.

The game contains a number of secrets, not just what you're able to normally explore and click on, but secrets one would need to go deep under the files to trigger, such as a memorable deleted cutscene where Freddi imagines sacrificing her pal Luther to the hungry Eddie the Eel.

Happy 30th anniversary to the start of a beloved franchise, I am so grateful that I could grow up playing these wonderful games!
