TOP 10 BEST SELLING CARS IN INDIA, 2021
According to recent reports, Maruti Suzuki and The Hyundai continued to be dominating the sales chart in April 2021 in India. The list of top 10 best-selling cars in India includes the 7 models from the Maruti stable and 3 other models from the South Korean carmaker.
The Wagon R was the best-selling car in the last month with 18,656 units around the world. It was followed by Swift, Alto and the Baleno. Just like in the March 2021, the Hyundai models are in the top 10 list included the Creta, Venue and the Grand i10.
The top 10 cars sold in the April 2021 are:
·       Maruti Wagon - 18,650 units
·       Maruti Swift - 18,310 units
·       Maruti Alto - 17,300 units
·       Maruti Baleno - 16,380 units
·       Maruti Dzire - 14,070 units
·       Hyundai Creta - 12,460 units
·       Hyundai Grand i10 - 11,540 units
·       Maruti Eeco - 11,460 units
·       Hyundai Venue - 11,240 units
·       Maruti Vitara Brezza - 11,222 units.
But the overall sales went down from 3,20,480 units in March 2021 to 2,86,382 units in April 2021, due to the rise in Covid-19 cases across the country and the resulting lockdown in many states in India.
When compared to overall car market share, Maruti Suzuki has a market share of around 47.45%, while Hyundai's share is of 17.1%. Tata (8.6%), Mahindra (6.35%) and Kia with (5.63%) complete the top five.
Considering the top 10 cars sold in April 2021 in India, total sold figures were stood at 1,42,669 units, which is almost 3.42 percent down over 1,47,726 units sold during the month March 21. 
In the above list, the top 5 positions were held by the Maruti Suzuki where, Wagon R reserved the top spot in commanding a 13.08 percent share in the overall list. 
So, there were around 18,650 units of Wagon R sold last month, which is marginally 0.54 percent down compared to the 18,750 units sold in March 2021. 
 MARUTI SWIFT SLIPPED TO SECOND SPOT:
While the Maruti Swift slipped to the No.2 spot in April 21 sales with 18,310 units sold, down 15.60 percent over 21,710 units sold on March 2021.
The Maruti Suzuki Alto suffered marginal de-growth of around 0.56 percent from 17,401 units sold on March 2021 to 17,300 units sold in last month.
There is a substantial dip in the MoM sales of both the Maruti Baleno and DZire. 
Where, Baleno sales fell by 22.70 percent to 16,380 units in march 2021, down from 21,210 units sold on April 2021.
While, DZire suffered from 23.06 percent degrowth to 14,070 units on April 2021, a drop from 11,430 units sold in the previous month.
 MARUTI EECO: THE CONSISTENT PLAYER:
Maruti Eeco, the only mini-van on the top 10 list, has lost its position by two places since March 2021. With 11,469 units sold in last month, Eeco is placed at number 8th. However, its sales have remained as one of the most consistent over the past few months. Maruti sold 11,547 Eeco cars in March 2021, compared to 11,890 units it sold in February 2021.
