Blogmas: Viral LUSH Snow Fairy
Hi guys,
If you have been a fan of LUSH for a long time you will know how iconic their Snow Fairy collection is. Originally it was a bath bomb that turned into bath washes and last year it reached their cosmetics range with more lip products.
One of my favourite products from this range is the LUSH Snow Fairy Lip Jelly £9.00. I usually can't wear lip balms because my lips react however this natural organic formula I can wear all day without any issues. Unlike a traditional lip balm this is a lip jelly which is (in my opinion) more hydrating and nourishing on your lips. I adore this products and last year I bought one and then it sold out everywhere I couldn't find it anywhere so when they relaunched this product again in their Christmas collection I have to repurchase.
I decided to get 3 this time because they last ages and feel so amazing on my lips. The only thing I strongly dislike about Christmas collections is sometimes brands bring out their best products and then you can't find them for a year. Honestly it drives me crazy but it's a good excuse to buy in bulk when I see these products in store.
So if you need a bubble gum scented lip jelly in your life I highly highly recommend grabbing this while you can because when it's gone it's gone. As always all products mentioned in my blog post are linked above.
Lots of love,
Bella x x

“I’m Only Sleeping” —
“[George] would play the solos normal, then we’d flip the tapes and he’d listen to them backwards, just to see how they sounded. This would go on for maybe 70 takes, turning the tape over, listening, turning it back again — it would take literally hours to accomplish.“ - Richard Lush (engineer), Acoustic Guitar, February 2003
“Between my dad, John, Paul and Ringo, there was pretty much no musical stone they left unturned. I remember saying to my dad: ‘The backwards solo guitar on that Hendrix thing is just the stickest thing I ever heard.’ Dad just replied, without looking up from his tea: ‘I did the first backwards guitar solo on “I’m only sleeping.”’” - Evening Standard, June 26, 2006 (x)

1997 London Playlist
Back with some dance goodies from '97 that came from the world's most musically vibrant city, London, where all sorts of electronic genres were able to flourish quite unlike anywhere else in the world at the time. This week I added a deep breakbeat banger to the Spotify version of this playlist by a duo called Drum Club, who in '92 released their original version of "U Make Me Feel So Good" on dance legend William Orbit's pioneering progressive house label, Guerilla. Five years later, though, Drum Club's own Lol Hammond, aka Girl Eats Boy, remixed the song for a re-release on another UK progressive house label called Jackpot too, which gave us this beaut that laid its drum breaks over a super soothingly satisfying backdrop of lush strings and soft, subtle horn, as the sampled vocal from the original version made its grand return 😌. Currently unjustifiably sitting at less than 1,000 plays.
The Drum Club - "You Make Me Feel So Good (Girl Eats Boy mix)"
And then for the YouTube update, I added that one, plus another couple Guerilla remixes that can't be found on Spotify too, including a trance take on West London group React 2 Rhythm's 1991 song, "Intoxication," that was done by the legendary duo of John Digweed & Nick Muir, aka Bedrock, that's currently only sitting at 3.6K+ plays; and a progressive house mix of UK duo Fuzzy Logic's 1992 tune, "Obsession," that was done by the trio of Shango and Danny Howells, which is pushing towards 4.3K plays. "Intoxication" has this lovely bed of colliding and stringy synths that Bedrock drop a bunch of bleepy and old school knob-twiddling acid on top of, and then "Obsession" is one of those tunes that's good for slotting into the middle of a mix to maintain a steady vibe before you really start to ramp up to a mesmerizing climax. It lingers for a bit, but after its breakdown, it adds some nice string pads to complete the whole thing. Vocalist Erire dips into some gravelly passion and some aquatic organ work is mixed in too 👍.
React 2 Rhythm - "Intoxication (Nick Muir & John Digweed's Bedrock mix)" Fuzzy Logic - "Obsession (Shango & Danny Howells' Illogical Infactuation mix)"
And this playlist is also on YouTube Music.
So, three new tracks added in total this week, from three separate dance genres, all of which were remixes of songs that were originally released on the great Guerilla label. Spotify version of the playlist is now at 14 songs that clock in at 91 minutes, but over on YouTube, we're now at 25 songs that clock in at 173 minutes. So if you want a whole lot more of that dope 1997 London underground stuff, check out the YouTube playlist!
And here's the list of comps and mixes that I've used so far to put this playlist together:
Goth's Undead (1997, Cleopatra Records) 00 : 50 (1997, Soma Quality Recordings) Monsieur Dimitri's De-Luxe House of Funk by Dimitri From Paris (1997, DMC Publishing Ltd.) Jackpot Presents Guerilla by Phil Perry & Danny Howells (1997, Jackpot) Skampler (2001, Skam) Soma Quality Recordings - Volume 4 (1997, Soma Quality Recordings) Club H Vol.2 by Harry the Bastard (2000, Statra Recordings) Hi:Fidelity Lounge - Volume One: Subterranean Soundtracks (1999, Guidance Recordings) Eclectic Electric (2000, eMusic) Spundae Presents Interpretations by Jerry Bonham (1998, Spundae) DJ-Kicks: by Kid Loco (1999, !K7) 4am Eternal (A Truly Twisted Post-Club Chill-Out Selection) by Osymyso (2000, Mixmag) Amberdelic Space II: Angel of Ecstasy (1997, Dressed to Kill) Alt. Frequencies Presents Disco Moonlight (1997, Worm Interface) Essential Selection, Vol. One by Fatboy Slim & Paul Oakenfold (2000, London Records 90) E=wMC2000: The Equation For Quantum Groove Theory (2000, eMusic) A Jedi's Night Out by Tom Middleton (1999. DMC / Mixer) Architecture Volume 2 by Terry Francis (1998, Pagan Records)
And here's some links to more 90s London playlists too:
1992: YouTube / YouTube Music 1994: YouTube / YouTube Music 1995: YouTube / YouTube Music 1996: Spotify / YouTube / YouTube Music 1998: Spotify / YouTube / YouTube Music 1999: YouTube / YouTube Music
Breakbeat update next week!
Enjoy!
More to come, eventually. Stay tuned!

bands i think the spiderverse characters would like
this is merely intuitive i actually have no idea
hobie: he's into the classics
misfits, joy division, sex pistols, the clash, public image ltd., ramones.
idk exactly what year his universe is in but he'd probably also like black flag, circle jerks, bad religion, the stooges, bad brains, maybe dead kennedys.
david bowie, jimi hendrix, siouxie and the banshees, maybe neutral milk hotel, melvins, underworld, new york dolls. he also probably thinks pink floyd is pretentious.
gwen: she's probably into girl bands and 90's indie/alternative rock as well as some 80s classics, huge kat stratford music taste vibes.
the cranberries, lush, hole, the runaways, blondie, kate bush.
probably super into fleetwood mac and a stevie nicks apologist.
green day, david bowie, conan gray, the nbhd, smashing pumpkins, arctic monkeys, paramore, the 1975, blur, mitski, g-eazy, very ocasionally the velvet underground.
miles: we all kinda know his music taste but i'd like to add a few.
super into kendrick, like a lot. mf doom, madvillainy, asap rocky and his fav song is probably sundress (totally not my fav), frank ocean, future.
in my mind his fav tyler song is wilshire. the alchemist, nas, jpegmafia, secretly usher, yeat enthusiast vibes.
cigarettes after sex, clams casino, mac miller, childish gambino (not the prowler one).
pavitr: he looks like he has no idea or interest in enhancing his music taste beyond current trends so he probably gets a lot of influence from his friends.
he probably listens to elton john or abba a lot to get his vibe going, gorillaz, the strokes, mgmt, glass animals, wallows, mac demarco.
he has a thing for 80's pop rock. tears for fears, r.e.m, duran duran, talking heads.
he says he doesn't listen to music to strike a nerve in his music enthusiast friends.
peter b. parker: peak white dad music daste. he loves those bands who's primary concert audience is old men who smell like sauerkraut.
U2, bon jovi, tears for fears, pink floyd, oasis, ac/dc, metallica, elton john, rhcp, he goes to all of aerosmith's "farewell tour" thinking it will actually be the last, the beatles, backstreet boys, the killers, a-ha.
he also loves npc 2010's music like pitbull, david guetta, calvin harris, miley cyrus, maroon 5, cascada.
miguel: this man does not listen to music. no one understands why or how, but he just doesn't and it's kinda creepy.

Grails — Anches En Maat (Temporary Residence Ltd)
More bands should make music that sounds like Tangerine Dream. It’s hard to imagine music more evocative, precise and crisp. Their music communicates not only mood, but season. The late William Friedkin knew what he was getting when he asked them for a soundtrack.
Anches En Maat is the latest from Grails, the band’s tenth album but the first in five years. They’ve undergone quite an evolution from their early days at the margins of doom-inflected drone and folk, the sounds drummer Emil Amos would pursue with the legendary Om. Their new album is focused, meticulous and unlike anything they’ve done. It’s one thing to try to sound like Tangerine Dream; it’s another to actually do it.
What makes this so special is how unexpected it is. If you’ve been following Grails for the last 20 years or so, you’ll be surprised how polished this album is. When “Sad and Illegal,” begins, you can picture a wet, reflective streetscape, lit by mercury vapor lamps. The music envelops you in its world. Anches En Maat distills and synthesizes their earlier work into an electronic prog masterpiece.
If you follow guitarist Ilyas Ahmed on Instagram, you get a behind-the-scenes look into where his interests and influences are taking him, but unlike his more ambient solo work, the scope here is vast and expanding. A sonic universe explodes during “Sisters of Bilitis.” Likewise, Amos has always exercised restraint on drums, but this is different, more subtle and nuanced. It’s not simply a tribute to Amos’ talent, but also a reflection of the band getting together to record the album, versus piecing everything together separately.
It’s not an indulgent album. There’s a discipline to every song. No note sounds wasted or out of place. It so perfectly captures the spirit of those gritty 1980’s psychosexual thrillers, at once lush and foreboding. Nowhere is that more apparent than on the aptly titled “Black Rain.” The song pulsates in rhythms that play up the tension and paranoia that characterize the late 1980s and 1990s neo-noir period in cinema. The album closes with the crystalline sounds of the title track, guitars fading into the night.
It’s a soundtrack to summer becoming autumn, rain blanketing cities everywhere, with wet leaves papering the streets beneath your wheels.

Hi guys,
Looks like my Snow Fairy LUSH obsession has returned! Trying to buy things in the LUSH sale is always so difficult because everything sells out, especially anything Snow Fairy scented. After trying and failing to buy products I gave up, however a few weeks ago I found myself at Waterloo Station and they have a small LUSH store there! I managed to get everything you see here on sale for £24.00 so let's chat about my haul!
Starting off with the Snow Fairy Lip Jelly (50% off), this product was the whole reason I was shopping the sale in the first place because it's a limited edition product. I usually hate lip balms but this one is so hydrating and smells amazing I ended up grabbing 3. It's typical me I always love the products that end up being limited edition and then get annoyed that I didn't buy enough when they were in store. Luckily I didn't make that mistake this time.
Next up we have the Snow Fairy Shower Gel (50% off). Out of all the Snow Fairy products this is probably the most iconic / famous product in the collection. To use this shower gel all you have to do is lather it all over in the shower and rinse off to reveal sweet-scented skin. The scent is gorgeous it's a candy scnet and the more I use it the more obsessed I get. Lastly I picked up the Snow Fairy Body Lotion (50%). This lotion makes my skin so soft and smell of candy floss so it's a total win! I love using lotions like these especially since it's so cold in the U.K at the moment and my poor skin is dry from the cold.
Since these products are limited edition I have linked them above while they are still in stock so grab them while you can!
Lots of love

Crittal-style windows have significantly increased in popularity among architects, designers, and homeowners. Known for their sleek, industrial aesthetic, these windows add timeless elegance and character to modern and traditional homes. Whether you are considering them for your next renovation or simply curious about their charm, this guide explores everything you need about Crittal-style windows.
What Are Crittal-Style Windows?
Crittal-style windows are metal-framed windows with narrow sightlines, typically featuring a grid of small panes separated by slim bars. They are inspired by the original Crittall Windows Ltd., a UK-based company founded in 1860. Initially crafted for industrial and commercial buildings, these windows have become a staple of high-end residential design.
Their key characteristics include:
Slim Metal Frames: Often made of steel or aluminum, providing strength and a minimalist look.
Grid Pattern: Divides the window into smaller panes, creating a distinct aesthetic.
Versatility: Suitable for windows, doors, partitions, and even shower screens.
Why Choose Crittal-Style Windows?
Timeless Design
Crittal-style windows exude an industrial-chic vibe that complements various architectural styles, from contemporary to rustic and mid-century modern.
Abundant Natural Light
The slim frames and large glass panels maximize light, making interiors feel brighter and more spacious.
Durability
Unlike traditional wooden frames, steel and aluminum are robust and long-lasting, resisting warping or rotting,
Versatility
These windows are ideal for various applications, including:
External windows and doors
Room dividers
Shower screens
Greenhouse or conservatory windows
Customizable
Modern manufacturers offer Crittal-style windows in various finishes and configurations, allowing for tailored designs.
Applications of Crittal-Style Windows
Exterior Windows
Replace traditional windows with Crittal-style designs to add a sleek, industrial edge to your home's façade. Their slim profiles provide unobstructed views while maintaining structural integrity.
Patio and Garden Doors
Crittal-style French or sliding doors seamlessly connect indoor and outdoor spaces. They create an airy, open feel while maintaining a stylish partition.
Room Dividers
Internal Crittal-style partitions are a popular way to divide spaces without sacrificing light or a sense of openness. Ideal for:
Separating a home office from a living area
Creating a dedicated dining space in open-plan layouts
Shower Screens
Bring a touch of industrial charm to your bathroom with Crittal-style shower enclosures. They're visually striking and moisture-resistant.
Greenhouses and Conservatories
Enhance these spaces with sleek, weatherproof Crittal-style frames that complement lush greenery.
Materials for Crittal-Style Windows
While steel remains the traditional material for Crittal-style windows, modern alternatives include aluminum and uPVC. Here's a comparison:
Steel
Pros: Powerful, durable, and authentic.
Cons: Expensive, heavy, and requires maintenance to prevent rust.
Aluminum
Pros: Lightweight, corrosion-resistant, and available in various finishes.
Cons: Slightly less durable than steel but still robust.
uPVC
Pros: Budget-friendly and low-maintenance.
Cons: Lacks the authentic look and feel of metal frames.
Advantages of Crittal-Style Windows
Energy Efficiency
Modern Crittal-style windows are equipped with double or triple glazing, providing excellent insulation and reducing energy bills.
Low Maintenance
Metal frames require less upkeep compared to wood. Occasional cleaning and inspection for wear are typically sufficient.
Adds Value to Property
Their unique aesthetic appeal can significantly boost your home's resale value.
Custom Finishes
Powder-coated options ensure your frames resist scratches, rust, and fading, and they come in colors ranging from classic black to modern white or bold hues.
Potential Drawbacks
Cost
High-quality Crittal-style windows can be expensive, especially if made from steel. However, alternatives like aluminum are more affordable.
Weight
Steel frames are heavy, which may require reinforced structures during installation.
Maintenance for Steel
Although durable, steel frames may need periodic maintenance to prevent corrosion, particularly in humid or coastal areas.
How to Choose the Right Crittal-Style Windows
Consider Your Budget
Decide whether you want premium steel frames or budget-friendly alternatives like aluminum or uPVC.
Glazing Options
Choose between single, double, or triple glazing based on your energy efficiency and soundproofing needs.
Customization
Work with a reputable manufacturer to customize the size, grid pattern, and finish to suit your home's design.
Professional Installation
Proper installation is crucial for structural integrity and performance. Hire experienced professionals for the job.
Cost of Crittal-Style Windows
The cost of Crittal-style windows depends on factors like material, size, glazing type, and customization. Here's a rough estimate:
Steel: $1,500–$2,500 per window
Aluminum: $800–$1,500 per window
uPVC: $500–$800 per window
While they are a premium investment, the aesthetic and functional benefits often justify the cost.
Maintaining Crittal-Style Windows
Cleaning
Regularly clean the frames with a mild detergent and a soft cloth to remove dirt and grime.
Inspect for Rust
If you have steel frames, inspect for rust spots and treat them promptly with anti-rust paint.
Check Seals
Ensure the seals around the glass remain intact to maintain energy efficiency.
Crittal-Style Windows: Trends and Inspiration
Industrial Interiors
Pair Crittal-style windows with exposed brick walls, concrete floors, and minimalist furniture for a contemporary industrial look.
Scandinavian Style
Combine the sleek frames with natural wood tones and neutral colors for a warm, modern vibe.
Maximalist Contrast
Use bold-colored frames as a statement piece in eclectic, maximalist interiors.
Conclusion
Crittal-style windows are more than just a functional element—they're a design statement. Their clean lines, durability, and versatility can transform any space into a bright, modern haven. While the initial cost may be higher, their timeless appeal and added property value make them a worthwhile investment.

Timing is Everything: Best Time for Kilimanjaro Climb and Safari Packages
Selecting the best time for your Kilimanjaro climb and safari packages can elevate your adventure. Understanding the seasonal climate and wildlife activity in Tanzania enhances both the climbing and safari experience.
Optimal Seasons for Kilimanjaro Climbing
The timing of your climb on Mount Kilimanjaro is critical. The best months for Tanzania mountain climbing are January through mid-March and June to October. These periods offer relatively stable weather, ideal for trekking and clear views of Kilimanjaro’s breathtaking landscape.
During the January to mid-March season, climbers experience warmer conditions on the mountain with minimal rainfall. The June to October period is Kilimanjaro’s dry season, known for cooler, clear skies, which enhance the climbing experience. For those looking to explore other climbing options, Kei Tours and Safaris Ltd. offers a comprehensive guide to mountain climbing in Tanzania.
Safari Adventure: The Prime Wildlife Viewing Months
Pairing a Kilimanjaro climb with a safari in Tanzania is a unique way to experience the country's natural beauty. For the best safari experience, the dry season from June to October is also highly recommended. During these months, the animals gather near watering holes, providing unmatched wildlife sightings, especially in renowned parks like Serengeti and Ngorongoro Crater.
If you’re planning to see the Great Migration, consider visiting in late June to September. These months coincide with wildebeests crossing the Mara River, a spectacle that’s both breathtaking and memorable. Benefits of Choosing the Rainy Season
Although the rainy season (from March to May and November to December) may seem challenging, it can be rewarding for certain adventurers. Lower tourist numbers mean more secluded trails on Kilimanjaro and discounted safari rates. Wildlife spotting may be harder, but the lush, green scenery can create stunning photographic opportunities.
For climbers and travelers seeking a quieter experience, these "off-peak" months offer a unique perspective on Kilimanjaro climb and safari packages.
Tips to Maximize Your Kilimanjaro Climb and Safari
To make the most out of your Kilimanjaro climb and safari experience, consider these tips:
Plan in Advance: Booking early ensures you secure the best guides, accommodation, and permits during the peak seasons.
Choose the Right Route: Each Kilimanjaro route varies in difficulty and scenery. Select a route that fits your experience level and preferred climb duration.
Stay Hydrated and Acclimate: The high altitude requires preparation. Drink plenty of water and allow time to acclimate to avoid altitude sickness.
Bring Essential Gear for Safari: Binoculars, a camera with a zoom lens, and weather-appropriate clothing will make your safari experience even better.
