9:45 am and pouring rain and I have to be at WORK for 8 hours. DEATH AND DYING

#the good news is i am wearing my new perfume i got for christmas!! i asked for it and i love it bc its dark and kinda nasty smelling #(lord of misrule by lush because i was looking for something that smelled close enough to moonlit graveyard by b&bw)#the bad news is that most people dont like the smell of patchouli and one of those people is my boss at the west branch :(#listen. b&bw didnt make anything other than a little hand sanitizer for it and i only bought ONE and they didnt bring it back this year #i was fiending. but i got lord of misrule for chrimmus so im happy :)#it smells so so so so close it just doesnt have the alcohol smell to it like the hand sanitizer #val.txt

So stupid but Dove released some holiday scented soaps in bar form and i got the gingerbread spice whatever and hOooooooughmahga I wanna eat it.

having a small mental breakdown over the prospect of my first lush Boxing Day. I know fully well that I’m going to be in shambles before I even show up. Idk when my local shop is opening then or if they even are and I’m scared to ask so I’m just gonna show up at 8am hopefully (nobody is going to want to cooperate with my plans and it’s gonna suck and go wrong and stress me out hence mental breakdown before I even set foot in there). I’m making a list of stuff to look out for and praying to every god

#I know damn well I’m gonna cry. I’m gonna be so fucking upset unless I show up and I’m the only person there which is so unlikely it’s the #only lush in the county so I have to be realistic #It’s only just dawned on me that there’s gonna be Barbie and mario and SpongeBob and lazy stuff there too? So I’m insane. Lazy was my best #era that intergalactic soap changed me #I think it’s almost beautiful but very anticlimactic how this may be the first time I resort to violence /j but if I saw someone clean out #The Lord of Misrule perfume before I could get to it I would be inclined to fucking murder them #I’d feel like that person who broke that dudes arm at the train station with their umbrella. Pure autistic panic violence

despite being miserably broke ive been so hooked on fragrantica + learning about niche perfumes + perfume brands.... it started w toskovat' and ive been down a rabbit hole for a week. i wanna smell em all so bad.......

im endeared by how fragrantica reviewers describe smells like how rym reviewers review albums. but less toxic

#perfume drama is really funny tho #i am going to start by doing a perfume workshop w my gf bc that seems like a good space to learn about diff notes and smells and #its like the same price as 10 rando samples from scentbox #after that tax return...#the only perfume i really have experience w is lord of misrule from lush its a solid one ive been using for years #and its so nice..... a warm peppery vanilla patchouli. my current litmus for what kind of smells i enjoy #i want to smell like a london fog or a vanilla sandalwood or like a frankincense vibe!!!

#every day that i cant afford to smell like that is a day closer to death !!#i love it so much that the day of my in-person interview i almost got up at the crack of dawn to go to the mall and put on a sample #bc i was so convinced that i'd be unstoppable if i was wearing it #turns out lush's karma did the trick. i did impress everyone and i wouldnt have gotten that particular job no matter what #and i may have gotten the solid version of lord of misrule yesterday 😬 unwise purchase but it's the closest solid they had to phantom #so surely my NEXT interview will be even more fruitful #anyway. go to the mall and find a sample of phantom at the fragrance counter and think of me fondly <3
