note : hunter and amity are only metamours in this (i think she’s canonically a lesbian, hence this decision), everyone else is dating

i could summarise this polycule very succinctly with the words “good luck having any personal space” — but i’ll be nice and elaborate a bit more

congrats on your 3 badass girlfriends and your anxious overly protective boyfriend — hope you don’t miss sticking up for yourself too much

amity and luz are your biggest cheerleaders in everything you do whilst hunter and willow are always nearby to catch you if you fail and help you be the best you can be

luz is the only one who understands the references you make (being human and all) so there will be times where you’ll have to sit the others down and explain things very thoroughly

willow gets into cooking and food prep because of her passion for plant magic and will bring new dishes for you all to try on date nights

hunter is very protective and insists on training with everyone to make sure you’re all prepared for anything and everything that might get thrown at you

amity is always something of a voice of reason and will help you keep on track with what you need to focus on — be that training or assignments or something else entirely

group sleepovers at eda’s place are a must and happen a minimum of once per week — with sleeping arrangements usually changing from night to night

sometimes it’s : you, hunter, willow, luz amity

other times it’s : hunter, luz, you, amity, willow

but no matter the position you’ll be throughly smothered with cuddles and affection by the end of it

amity and hunter are the best metamours one could hope for and, being the most prepared and rational of you all, are usually the ones scheduling dates and training and such — whilst making sure to train each other just as much (like best mates with a history of violence)

the most to least affectionate duos when together are: (most) luz & amity -> luz & willow -> luz & you -> willow & you -> willow & amity -> willow & hunter -> hunter & you -> hunter & luz -> hunter & amity (least / completely platonic)

hunter is both touch starved and incredibly unused to casual affection, hence him being on the least affectionate side in general

luz is massively pro-pda and will smother everyone she can with all the hugs and kisses she can get away with

amity tends to be quite reluctant with pda and affection because she’s prone to being really flustered but she’s open to being reciprocal if you/willow/luz initiate it

willow is more mild with affection but still gives it freely because she grew up with it being a normal part of relationships

you have all at some point given hunter a spa day complete with manicures, face masks and more because the poor thing is a walking ball of nervous energy

the girls (amity and willow mainly) will paint all of your nails — luz helps with this but she can be very clumsy with the brush and ends up covering your hands with nail polish

you all end up sharing and swapping clothes at some point

luz gives everyone silly nicknames (which you only pretend to hate)

willow has kicked several people’s asses for messing with her partners — which was only shocking the first three times

Trope: enemies to lovers

Enemies-To-Lovers: Grade A (Spend my time combing AO3 for it)

I have to be honest, when I go for enemies-to-lovers, what I actually crave 99% of the time is enemies-to-friends-to-lovers, but that's really long to type out and a lot of people just write 'enemies-to-lovers' as shorthand for that.

True enemies-to-lovers is something I don't usually enjoy, where the characters simply continue to genuinely hate each other the entire relationship-- like, I'm not into reading hatesex or whatever, that just doesn't happen to be my thing.

But if it's somebody who thinks they really really hate someone but there's another part of their brain that secretly really likes them? *chef's kiss* That's good stuff. Can't get enough.

And if they're sworn rivals and they start to develop a friendly rapport and slowly change from frenemies to something deeper, and are the only two people who truly understand one another? And it gradually shifts from hate to affection? And one day, the one person they used to hate the most is the one person they could now never imagine themselves apart from? 🥺 Aw heck yeah.

tell me ur opinion on ALL of the toh ships

THERE ARE TOO MANY CHARACTERS TO HIT EVERY FATHOMABLE SHIP!!! I’ll try and do notable opinions in this case

-I like all of the canon or semi-canon ships a LOT, like some of my favorite ships ever, and all about the same amount

-however I have big multishipper disease and here’s the big opinion which is just that I think the ideal is a Luz/Amity/Willow/Hunter polycule where everybody is dating except for Hunter and Amity, bc I really like lumity, and I really like huntlow, and I really like willuz, and I really like lunter, and I’m not the HUGEST wamity fan but I think it has a lot of material. So everyone wins and I’m more correct than anyone.

-I know that the read of Hunter and Luz as a pseudo sibling dynamic is very common and I have no beef with it except that if you are trying to tell me shipping these two unrelated teenagers who have been friends for a couple months is incestous or “weird” I am going to have to hit you with a bat. Thanks for understanding.

-I really like Darius/Raine and I think they have excellent chemistry. Raine has two hands. Darius/Alador is also fine and I support the headcanon that they are exes.

-I can see Gus/Mattholomule but I dislike Mattholomule so much that I don’t really like the ship either.

-I used to see a lot of Camila/Eda shipping back during season one and I’m sort of rooting for there to be SOME material for that now that they might actually meet.

-I have semi-ironically read x reader fics about Belos.

you’re all always hanging off of each other or touching in some way — like the three of you are a package deal outside of work and studies

like yeah hunter has his work as a carver and luz is going into her second year at the university of wild magic and you’ve got your own thing going on

but outside of that the three of you are rarely apart

you walk hand in hand or arm in arm at all times — alternating who gets to be in the middle depending on who has the coldest hands

you’re always greeting each other with kisses — cheeks, lips, nose, forehead, jaw — and there have been times when you three have gotten stuck in a cycle of just giggling and kissing that none of you want to break

when you’re sat together you tend to stack: hunter on the bottom, your legs across his and angled off the edge of the seat, luz perched on your knees with an arm around hunter’s shoulders stopping her from falling off

you all alternate who gets to rant on your designated ranting nights — with whoever is up getting to talk uninterrupted about whatever their current hyperfixation is without anything less that complete enthusiasm and engagement from the other two

this can be anything from wild magic to cooking to carving to flyer derby and beyond

one time you and luz pre-read up on some recent studies on wolves for hunter’s night and you thought he was going to cry from happiness when you brought it up

hunter is a walking space heater and sleeps like a log

luz moves around a lot in bed and ends up trying to cling to you both

this is a nightmare during summer

whenever it rains and you’re visiting the human realm the three of you will go out and dance in the rain, stumbling and singing off-key and laughing until you’re all shivering and camilla is about to drag you back inside by force

vee calls you both her siblings and camilla calls you all her babies

darius is more subtle in his adoption of hunter as his kid, but he does talk about you guys making him happy and he has slipped up and asked about grandkids once or twice

cuddle attacks are a thing and you will all just randomly jump on each other and smother them with kisses and hugs at random

you’ve all read and watched all media related to the good witch azura franchise, which involved you and hunter getting schooled by your girlfriend beforehand

you all give each other stupid nicknames in your phones and it makes you laugh whenever you get a text from them

neither of your partners are morning people and it is a struggle to try and get up in the morning with two very tired, very clingy people latched onto you

whenever you guys start cuddling, stringbean and waffles will try to get involved as well which is equally adorable and annoying

there is no such thing as ‘yours’ or ‘mine’ — all things end up getting shared amongst you eventually until you start to forget who belonged to who originally

they’re both majorly protective of you and have perfected the art of intimidating the living hell out of anyone who tries to act cruelly towards you

note : not the most confident in this series of headcanons, so will probably work on this again later

Hunter

on his own, hunter is an incredibly possessive and jealous yandere

he won’t let you out of his sight and may very well just keep you locked up in his room where he knows that you’re safe and away from the prying eyes of other people

is very rough with you, but insists that it’s a necessary evil - a reminder that he can keep you safe on his own

a reminder that you’ll never be able to leave

expects you to look after him in the same way he does you; by fretting over each and every injury to the extremes

if you have any physical items that you received from other people (especially other witches), hunter will take and destroy them - forcing you to take in items he purchased/made in their place

doesn’t want you thinking about or talking about anyone else and will do anything he can to prevent that

needs constant reassurance that he’s loved and can go into something akin to mania when he’s doubting himself too much - almost always resulting in you getting hurt somehow

Luz Noceda

luz is a more obsessive yandere; the type that makes her life revolve around you and that basically worships the ground you walk on

she’s always around you, hanging off of you physically and clinging to your every word

will do anything you ask of her except leave you alone

very protective over you and will become aggressive and standoffish to anyone she deems as upsetting you or stepping over any of your boundaries

will frequently use emotional blackmail and manipulation to keep you with her - guilt tripping you using her experiences and affections until you give in to her

does anything and everything to prove her love for you, including causing harm to others

willow and gus are none the wiser when it comes to the true nature of your relationship as luz has manipulated them as well

if you try to leave, you’ll have a lot of people guilting you to get back with her and forgive her for her transgressions because she’s just so nice and can’t you see how remorseful she is?

Lunter / Poly!Hunter & Luz

yandere lunter is a match made in hell

one is constantly emotionally manipulating you and the other is refusing to let you stray too far from them - and attacking anyone who gets too close

they will end up kidnapping you in the end, but they frequently bicker about it

luz says they did it too soon and should trust you to leave every now and then (you love them, after all)

hunter argues that the world can’t be trusted with you and they did it at the right time (they need to protect you)

your relationship will fall into a closed polycule that is centred around you - yes they are lovers independent of you, but you are their obsession and the centre of their world

personal space is little more than a memory for you as you’ll barely even have the room to breathe on your own

luz wants her friends and family to know about you - and they also act as a secondary way of insuring that you won’t get too far if you run

they are affectionate with each other, but their obsession is solely towards you, for better or for worse
