Seokjin’s a good husband. He does more than enough around the house; from laundry to dinner, every task falls under his care while you prance off to some boring nine-to-five office job. He takes care of your home and your beautiful daughter all day, everyday, nearly bends himself backwards for your little family. And still, despite how grueling housework can be, he still finds the energy to greet you at the door with a perfectly placed kiss against your cheek every evening. He’s a good husband, an even better dad, but absolutely terrible at reading the room,

Or at least, the preschool pick-up zone.

“Mr. Kim,” someone swoons, probably that ditzy milf from down the street, the one you swear you caught snooping around the hydrangea bush, the one Seokjin has spent all summer carefully watering. He had waved it off, laughed heartily and said something about how proud he was that others wanted hydrangeas as nice as his. Oblivious as hell sometimes, blind to the women who chase after him day after day because he’s only ever had eyes for you and you alone.

Anyway, he’s supposed to be picking up Yuna from school, a task he usually does alone. But you had finished work early, had arrived home just as he was preparing her daily after school snack. And well, Yuna was your baby too, and you desperately wanted to surprise her by picking her up today.

Your excitement is derailed by the sight of all the damn mothers swooning over your husband. He’s dressed so handsomely today, nice pants and a short-sleeved button down that accentuates his broad shoulders. Someone touches his forearm and you nearly launch yourself out of the car, where you’re supposed to patiently wait to surprise Yuna.

“Honey,” Jin beams, watching you stomp over in your pressed suit and high heels. “Yuna’s surprise,” he whines, hands naturally falling to your hips. You throw a snooty look over his shoulder, make sure all these damn hussies see as you press your lips to his. He kisses back softly, plush lips molding against yours for a brief second before he’s gently pushing you away with a blush. “Not here,” he chuckles nervously, but his ears are already tinted that rosy color you adore so much.

“Sorry,” you say, anger fading away at the warm look on his face. “You’re just so handsome here.”

An eye roll, a gentle pat against your hip. “Always handsome,” he retorts, moving to slip an arm around you instead. “Let me introduce you to some of the ladies!”

Ah, yes. The ladies.

Among said ladies is the damn milf you’d suspected earlier, obnoxiously popping her gum in your face when Seokjin introduces you as his wife. A visible cloud of surprise falls over the various mothers and babysitters, shock that a man this handsome actually had a wife. Of course he has a wife, you huff, purposefully sliding your hand inside his butt pocket. Seokjin startles at the squeeze you give his ass, a tiny smile on his face when he goes to scold you.

“You’re Yuna’s mom?” the milf asks, and you nearly bark at her for even trying to insinuate otherwise. But then you’re interrupted by a shrill screech from across the pick-up zone.

“Mommy!” Yuna shrieks, torpedoing your way before her teacher can even spot you. It’s alright, because Seokjin quickly goes over to bid her adieu while you catch your tiny fireball in your arms. “Mommy, that’s her,” Yuna says after nearly suffocating you with her weirdly strong grip. “That’s the lady that won’t stop inviting Daddy to dinner” she tattles, pointing one chubby finger at the milf, and it takes all of Seokjin’s strength to manhandle you back into the car before you can stab your heel into that trifling woman’s eye.

  And in response, Cairngorm let out a somewhat undignified squawk before tensing up completely and falling back onto their bed with a soft thud - head luckily landing right on the pillow. For real, if their death wouldn’t be by the Lunarians, it would certainly be from the bouts of stress caused by Phos. For a moment, Cairn opened their mouth to complain and tell the other to go to their own room to sleep instead, but it was closed before a sound came out ( a sigh leaving them instead ).

           They didn’t have the heart nor energy to be mad at Phos.

  Instead, they chose to oh so carefully place their hand on the back of Phos’s head and play with the locks of hair there - whilst seeming somewhat sad. When Cairn finally did speak, it was in a whisper meant for Phos alone. “Just..be careful. I don’t want you to crack and shatter. And definitely not because of me.”
