Pitch for an “Among Us” horror movie:
1) The story is centered on a 10-man crew that is on an expedition to one of Jupiter’s moons, Europa. However, midway into the trip, the ship is infiltrated by two, hostile shapeshifting aliens that takes the place of two crew members. The rest of the movie is about the crew trying to stay alive by finding out who are the imposters among them.
2) The astronauts use colors as their code names. So, “Red” doesn’t actually wear red but is addressed as red by the other crew members.
3) The cast:
* Gabriel Luna as “Orange”
* May Calamawy as “Green”
* Hailee Steinfeld as “Cyan”
* Jon Bernthal as “Maroon”
* Daniel Dae Kim as “White”
* Grace Byers as “Red”
* Pilou Asbæk as “Purple”
* Keir Gilchrist as “Pink”
* Ashley Park as “Black”
* Leigh Whannell as “Blue”
4) The death count:
* Leigh Whannell is killed by the impostors first
* Ashley Park is killed by the impostors second
* Keir Gilchrist is killed by the impostors third
* Pilou Asbæk is revealed to be the first impostor and is killed by the crew
* Grace Byers is killed by the second impostor, revealing that there were two impostors in the crew the whole time
* Daniel Dae Kim is killed by the second impostor while the ship goes into a blackout (aka lights got sabotaged)
* Jon Bernthal is thrown off the ship by the remaining crew members because they thought he was the impostor. In reality, he was framed by Hailee Steinfeld, the true second impostor.
* Hailee Steinfeld is killed by the two surviving crew members in the final showdown
* Gabriel Luna and May Calamawy survive the events of the movie

Burrow's End is an absolute masterpiece.
In the span of ten episodes Aabria and Co. weave an exciting and emotional adventure story about a family of sentient stoats. It delivers huge laughs, interesting societal criticism, remarkably emotional and well-acted scenes and concludes with a series of epilogue scenes that feel appropriate for each character, some heartfelt and subdued and others bigger than life and all the funnier for it.
Siobhan and Izzy play the perfect pair of siblings. They fight and argue but they also love each other. Jaysohn (Siobhan) looks up to Lila (Izzy) and believes she's the smartest stoat in the world (and by the end she probably is) and Lila hypes up her little brother's athletic skills. They both fully embodied these kids and I could watch them do fun stuff for more episodes. Give me a version of Saved by the Bell with them. Stoat by the Bell.
Brennan and Rashawn, playing sisters, also knock it outta the park, showing a more mature sibling dynamic. Brennan portrays Tula as the quintessential overtired single mother of excitable kids, and Rashawn as younger sister Viola straddles a very interesting line of being intimidating to outsiders but very much more naive and looking to her older sister when she starts a family.
Jasper as Thorn, a guy everyone just lets be a cult leader because he really wanted to, is fantastic. His is a difficult role as the only non-blood relative. Jasper plays Thorn with such real humanity of a guy in over his head and letting his ambition wife call the shots, but also one who agrees with her goal, really loves her and has moments of real menace. He has some very funny scenes, his big speech is perfect, and I just enjoy him.
Erika is wonderful. They play the epitome of generational trauma as many have said but as much trauma as Ava has, she is also loving and willing to learn. The fact Erika took this adversarial role is incredible. The tense dramatic scene primarily between Ava, Tula and Viola is amazing. They act their asses off and make hard choices that I imagine are difficult even for such an experienced player.
Aabria's DMing always feels fun. She doesn't get bogged down in the rules. She knows them. She plays by them. But as a master, she knows how and when to break them too. Her seasons on Dimension 20 have all had a tenseness, a particular edge to them that can give me anxiety during dramatic scenes between two characters. It always feel like one of her NPCs may say something devastating and the tension between characters reaches really thrilling heights. This is present in other seasons, but I don't think anyone does it as well as she does. The first season of hers to have battle maps, Aabria really swung for the fences and gave us some of the wildest maps to date.
Shout out to Carlos Luna's voice acting. He did an incredible job. And shout out to the whole crew who have put together one of the best seasons of D20. They keep finding ways to build on what's come before and they should be commended for it.
Dimension 20 is most successful when the concept is very streamlined. They don't do huge 100 episode campaigns capable of handling huge winding complex narrative, but short focused D&D stories, which is why many of the Side Quests have been so fantastic. They embody this philosophy most clearly, but it's apparent in the most beloved Intrepid Heroes seasons as well—John Hughes/High Fantasy, Game of Thrones/Candyland, Retrofuturism, Film Noir but in a Brain... Burrow's End fits this perfectly. It's streamlined concept paired with great storytellers and great chemistry sets it up to be a smash hit before it begins. And goddamn does it deliver.
Thanks Stupendous Stoats!

Whispers of the night-Lloyd Garmadon x F!reader

Hi, this will become a new series, I’ve never done a series on Tumbler, only Wattpad and AO3, but I’ll probably add some of those series on her aswell, not the long ones, though.
I’ll add this series to both those platforms somewhere this month, but I’ll probably change the name cuz I don’t like this one that much.

Summary: y/n is your typical rebelling teen, sneaking out, ignoring her parent requests, stealing snacks from shops, skipping school. People who are like her, people with powers, normally do good, like the ninja, she likes to live a quite, but not so quite life.
Like that, she ignores the power she holds, she holds the power of illusion, she does not keep it a secret form her friends, though doesn’t like to talk about it much with people outside her friend group.
Her power isn’t unknown, so, of course, she did get an invitation to the tournament of elements, but she never attended, having promised herself she would live a quite, normal, teenager life.
That changes when a certain green ninja enters her life.

“Yes! Perfect, Millie!” Y/n clapped as the friend group cheered. The eight of them spent most of their free time in the skate park in Ninjago city.
It only had a pole, bank, pit and a halfpipe (which they where currently sitting on) but it would do, if they needed more like a stair railing, they’d go to other parts of the city.
Amelia landed on Y/n’s right side with a cocky smirk. Next to her sat Anthony while Luna stood behind them.
It was a sunny Wednesday, one of the last sunny days they where expecting, as it was late September.
“Alright, now copy that.” Amelia patted Y/n on the back and the girl got up, “I’ll destroy you, Cooper.” She said with slightly narrowed eyes and a smirk.
She picked up her skateboard, the bottom decorated with small doodles she made herself, but also some made by her friends, names included.
“Want me to film you?” Flora called from the other side of the halfpipe. “Sure!” Y/n called back, getting into position.
When she got the thumbs up from Flora, she shifted her weight and took off, getting cheered on by the others while Amelia jokingly yelled “boo!”
The six Ninja had the afternoon for themselves, having trained in the morning and decided on spending some time in the local park.
They walked past the skatepark and Lloyd looked over to see what the people there where up to. There was a girl with h/c hair soaring on her skateboard while being cheered on.
She was really beautiful.
“What ya looking at?” Kai looked at the direction Lloyd was looking at and smirked. “Watching the pretty skate girls?” He teased making Lloyds cheeks slightly heat up before protesting, making the others laugh.
“Good enough for you?” Y/n cocked a brow at Amelia who grinned. “More then enough.” She said. Flora, Arthur and Charlie, who had been on the other side, climbed onto their side.
“Who’s getting drinks?” Y/n heard Charlie ask, she had registered what he said to late, and when she looked up, everyone had a finger on their nose.
“Fine,” she grumbled, making the others chuckle. She wrote down what everyone wanted and waved before heading to the food and drink stall not far away.
When she arrived there she smiled at the boy with blonde hair that stood there, seeming to wait for his order.
He smiled back and she heard chuckling behind them. He turned around and shot his friends who stood not far away a glare.
“Good afternoon, how may I help you?” The teenager behind the register asked and Y/n smiled kindly.
“Hello,” she greeted. “Could I please have two cokes, a strawberry shake, one lemonade, one ice-tea, two passion fruit shakes and a ginger beer?” She asked and the girl nodded with a polite smile.
“Was that all?” She questioned. “Yes, that was it.” She answered and pulled out her card. “That would be eighteen fourth five,”
Y/n payed for the drinks and waited next to the boy who was tapping his foot on the ground a bit impatiently.
She couldn’t help but notice how cute he was. Blonde hair that was shining in the sun, light freckles on his face, bright green eyes and she couldn’t help but see he worked out daily.
Feeling he stare, he looked at her and smiled kindly, making her quickly look the other way.
He was then handed his drinks, and walked of after giving her a polite nod.
When she received her drinks aswel, she walked back to her friends who excitedly ran over and all took their own drinks.
Lloyd handed everyone their drinks and they smirked at him. “What?” He asked, taking his own drink in his hands.
“She was totally checking you out man!” Cole said, pushing Lloyds shoulder slightly, and if it wouldn’t have been for his own super strength, he would’ve fallen over.
“Who was?” He asked confused, making the others exchange baffled glances. “That pretty skater girl, obviously.” Kai rolled his eyes.
“No she was not!” Lloyd pointed out and Nya sighed. “Lloyd, I think it’s time we get your eyes checked.” She said disappointedly, making the others laugh.
“But come on dude, you can’t tell me she isn’t pretty, right?” Kai poked Lloyds arm making the green ninja chuckle. “She is, really pretty indeed.” He admitted.
The group had decided to make their way to James’ house as he had a huge backyard. Still sipping on their drinks, they walked to the entrance to the park.
Well, except for Luna, who was standing on her skateboard while holding onto Arthur, casually looking at her phone while being pulled forwards.
“Hey, is that the guy from the stand?” Amelia suddenly pointed to a group of friends who where standing in the shadow of a tree.
Amongst them indeed the boy Y/n had stood next to and mentioned to her friends.
Embarrassed, she quickly pulled her friends arm down as three of the boys looked their way, Amelia being rather loud.
“Millie!” Y/n hissed making her friends laugh.
“Hey, wait!” They turned to someone approaching them. “Hello?” Anthony raised an eyebrow at the guy standing in front of them.
“Hi,” he pointed his attention to Y/n, “I’m Kai and my friend over there,” he pointed at the blonde boy from earlier who looked mortified. “He thinks you’re really pretty and wants your number.” He said and Y/n gave an amused smirk while Flora and Amelia giggled.
Y/n tilted her head to the side to look at the blond boy who seemed to be scolding one of his friends with black hair.
“Sure, why not?” She smiled and looked over at Charles.
“Charlie, can I have the sticky notes and a pen?” She asked and he smirked and handed them over.
She wrote her number down and her name right under it. “Here, give that to your handsome friend.” She winked as she gave it before Kai thanked her and took off again.
“Damn N/n, you just got yourself boyfriend.” Luna teased with a smirk making Y/n give her a look. “It’s just a number, Lu.” She said, making her friends protest.
“Why did you have to dare him to do that?” Lloyd pointed an accusing finger at Cole who could only laugh.
Kai had jogged back over and everyone looked at him expecting and he gave Lloyd the sticky note with her name and number.
“Y/n, huh?” He read with a small smirk, having not expected to actually get her number.
“Mhm, and, her words where ‘give that to your handsome friend’ so I think you just got yourself a maybe girlfriend.” Kai said and Lloyd knew at that moment he was in for a lot of teasing for the rest of the day.
“I’m home!” Y/n closed the door behind her and walked into her house. It was almost 10 so she was surprised to see her little brother still on the couch.
She walked past and pushed the hood of his hoody over his head and he let out an angry yelp.
“Mooomm, Y/n’s bullying me!” He called out and their mother poked her head out of the kitchen. “Y/n?” She gave her eldest daughter a look making her smirk.
“Why’s he still up?” She entered the kitchen, taking an apple out of the fruit basket. “He’s free from school tomorrow so I allowed him to stay up late tonight.” Her mother said, rolling out dough to make cookies while Y/n took a bite of her apple.
“He’s literally six,” she swallowed her apple. “You didn’t allow me to stay up this late when I was that age.” She said
“Well this is different… kind of, but it’s just one time, I hope it won’t get to his head.” Her mother shook her head making Y/n chuckle.
“If it does it’s a you problem,” she threw the remains of her apple away and snatched her phone form the table.
“I’m heading out around 12, Charlie, Luna, Millie and I are going for a movie and then we’ll see what we’re going to do,” she looked at her phone.
“Hold up young lady, while that sounds fun, there has been a lot going on around the city again, I don’t want you going out at night.” He mother said making her groan.
“Come on mom, nothings going to happen, the ninja and police can handle it, it’s not that big of a threat anyway.” She waved it off. “Y/n!” Her mother said sternly and she groaned.
“Fine.” She left the kitchen and headed up the stairs with a scowl.
The ding of her phone made her look back at her screen.
Unknown number huh?

After ten minutes, Y/n could hear her mother softly snoring in her room and she could still hear the tv downstairs, hoping that was enough distraction for her snitching little brother.
She opened her window softly and sat on the window sill. She took en deep breath and jumped down, landing on the grass in their front yard.
She grabbed the broom that stood agains the wall of the house and used it to push her window closed.
That’ll do.
The abusement park
You
Be there in twenty
King Charles👑
You better be
LuLu✨
We will come for you👹
Y/n chuckled and grabbed her skateboard before making her way to the city centrum.
She put in her headphones and blasted music, making the noice of her surroundings disappear into the background.
At arrival, she smirks at her friends who get up at the sight of her.
“N/n!” Amelia cheers as she pulls her into an excited hug. “So Lu just checked on her phone, and there are four seats free in some sort of horror movie, so if we sneak in, we can watch it no problem.” She explains.
“Sure yeah, I can fix that.” Y/n grins, and with a snap of her fingers, they disappeared to the crowds eye.
“Holy shit what happened?” Charlie says panicked. “Illusions Charlie!” Luna hit his shoulder. “Oh, right.”
After four years, Charlie still can’t get used to Y/n having these powers, so whenever she uses them, he believes in the illusion making him see them.
If one does belief the illusion is really there and not an illusion, they just see what Y/n wants them to see, but if they realise what she’s doing, the illusion disappears for their eyes.
“Let’s go then, and uh, stay silent.” She says and her friends follow her, making sure to not walk into someone.
They got into the theater easily, it was still quite empty so when they sat, y/n could change them back and they snickered.
When the movie ended, they snuck out again.
“I can’t believe you actually got scared!” Y/n and Luna where laughing while Amelia cursed at them. She had screamed multiple times. Charlie just followed them with an amused grin.

‘Noel and Julian were possibly aroused’: The Mighty Boosh turns 20 – in pictures

‘Something magic happens when they get together’
While filming the surreal comedy, Dave Brown AKA Bollo was on hand with a camera to snap awkward kisses, creepy venues … and crack foxes ordering pie and mash

Tony & Dennis (Series 3 – The Strange Tale of the Crack Fox, 2007)
Dave Brown: ‘Lunchtime on set was a feast for the eyes. It was always a treat seeing cast members milling about munching on a jacket potato with ridiculous full face of makeup, asking for more cheese on their beans. Here, Noel Fielding (Tony Harrison) and Julian Barratt (Dennis the Head Shaman) pose for a quick shot before tucking into their pasta bake. Behind the Boosh 20, an exhibition by Boosh cast member Dave Brown AKA Bollo, is at the pop-up Behind the Gallery, London, 10-13 October. All photographs Dave Brown

Up on the Roof (Series 3 – Party, 2007)
‘During a particularly long scene, Noel and Julian look a little nervous and possibly slightly aroused as they contemplate their upcoming big kiss scene. I love the light and composition of this shot’

Tony & Saboo (Series 3 – Eels, 2007)
‘This was a particularly special scene. On Head Shaman Dennis’s stag do, Saboo rubs sun cream into Tony Harrison’s smooth pink crease, saying: “Don’t leave it in thick blobs, rub it in. Factor seven?! Shit off! I need factor 67 you ball bag!” It was always a hilarious pleasure to witness Noel and Richard Ayoade riffing off of each other in scenes, kinda like jazz, but jazz on bikes. Two very funny humans in ridiculous costumes at the top of their game, trying to out laugh each other with hilarious absurdities’

Luna Looks (Luna Park, Melbourne comedy festival, 2001)
‘Noel throws me his best blue steel look beneath the giant face of Luna Park as I lie on the pavement among the chewing gum and cigarette butts trying to get the angle. Melbourne festival was always very special, such an amazing city with brilliant crowds’

Come Play With Us (Aberdeen Future Sailors Tour, Press and Journal Arena, 2008)
‘The last gig of an insane tour. A strange place to end things after 99 dates that included Brixton, Wembley, Manchester and Sheffield but still, it was a great gig. Rich Fulcher was doing his usual dicking about pre-show in the corridors, grooving to tunes, practising his fossil moves. As I walked around the corner he was at the end and the blue suit reminded me of the Shining twins. I took two shots of him stood holding his own hand then comped them together. Way more terrifying than Kubrick’s version’

Hitcher Nabootique (Series 3 – Eels, 2007)
‘Loved this set: the sign, the lighting and one of my favourite characters, the Hitcher. Him walking up to the door in the rain was just a perfect moment to capture. All undercut by the ridiculous graffiti. Not sure why “loose change” makes me laugh so much, it’s one of those perfect examples of Noel and Julian’s writing and their way with language’

Noel Draws (Noel’s House during the Future Sailors Tour, 2008)
‘I spent many an evening pre-tour and sometimes during tour, in my flat or at Noel’s place, scribbling artworks for tour posters, DVDs, the book. The two of us produced all of that material. Old art school mates getting busy with the fizzy. We could draw those Boosh faces in our sleep, which became a bit of a problem some nights on tour in posh hotels’

Moody Naboo (Series 3 – Journey to the Centre of the Punk, 2007)
‘Naboo was indeed an enigma. Often found gazing into the middle-distance meditating deep astral conundrums, solving some of the world’s biggest problems and answering those age-old impossible questions like what flavour Pot Noodle he was going to have later when watching Columbo. Here is one of those moments in-between scenes shooting series three in a warehouse in a disused Ministry of Defence site somewhere in Surrey’

Foxy Man (Series 3 – The Strange Tale of the Crack Fox, 2007)
‘One of my favourite characters: those two voices, the laugh, the costume and makeup, terrifyingly hilarious! This is me capturing Julian just after lunch break walking back on set. It was a wonderful vision seeing the Crack Fox stood upright on two legs by the catering van ordering pie and mash from a visibly disturbed catering assistant, all while the real hungry Hackney crack foxes looked on through distant bushes in awe and jealousy’

Fossil Faces (Series 3 Rehearsals – American International Church, London, 2007)
‘Rich isn’t really acting in The Boosh. The character Bob Fossil is 92.4% Fulcher. A force of nature, he will crush any down moment anyone is having with his comedy fists and have you wetting your little blue pants in a hot minute. These shots were taken during rehearsals for series three in the American church on Tottenham Court Road in London. It was a pretty intense afternoon with some writing issues and a few moody clouds brewing. Then Rich provides these six faces and everyone’s laughing again’

Hippy Boosh (Series 2 – The Call of the Yeti, 2005)
‘Vince, Parsley and Naboo in full Polyphonic Spree get-up in front of the big blue studio 11 doors at 3 Mills Studios in east London. We’d just been shooting the song scene in Call of the Yeti and I was still in my Bollo suit. It always amused me when cast and crew from other shows filming at 3 Mills would walk past and assume this show had a Gorilla as the official set photographer’

Bendelack Directing (Pilot Episode –Tundra, Pinewood Studios, 2003)
‘Steve Bendelack directed loads of our favourites: Lee and Herring, Newman and Baddiel, League of Gentlemen. So when he was directing the pilot episode of Arctic Boosh at Pinewood Studios it was a pinch-me moment. Paul King took over from Steve when the first series was commissioned by the BBC. Steve was no doubt busy on something else. Or maybe he swerved it? Stewart Lee, who directed Noel and Julian in the Arctic Boosh stage show for the Edinburgh fringe in the late 90s, said it was like ‘trying to direct smoke’

Mutant Readers (Series 1 – Mutants, 3 Mills Studios, 2004)
‘Mike [Fielding] having some down time in his dressing room sipping on a brew and glancing across at a coupon for 10p off Monster Munch. Two trained thespians sit beside him on the smallest sofa in Europe; one reads a crime novel and an unshaven Pete from Dixons in the middle reads about how Bolton are on the brink’

Graffiti (Series 3 – The (Power of the) Crimp, 2007)
‘I’ve known Noel for over 30 years and Julian for over 25. Something magic happens when those two get together. They’re one of the great double-acts. It was never easy getting a decent shot of them together. Noel on his own was easy; he’d spot a camera lens a mile away in heavy fog. Julian, on the other hand, was usually eating, talking, squinting those already tiny eyes or hiding somewhere in a cabinet. I love these two nincompoops like brothers’

Microsoft XBOX 360 - Sonic World Adventure (Sonic Unleashed)
Title: Sonic World Adventure / ソニック ワールドアドベンチャー
Developer/Publisher: Sega (Sonic Team)
Release date: 19 February 2009
Catalogue No.: HEC-00002
Genre: 3D Action Adventure
Sega's Sonic team development division, learning from Sonic 06's mistakes, made the XBOX 360 perform some pretty impressive tasks in their demos, some of which were used in their games. Sonic Unleashed is one of those games (the other one being 2019's Shin Sakura Taisen, a visual novel for the PS4). The game marks the first-ever time a Sonic game debuted with a rendering system dubbed by Sonic Team as the "Hedgehog Engine", designed specifically to handle the drawing of 3D geometry and environments in a fast-paced setting. (The game still uses CRI Middleware and Havok technologies in some parts).
As a result, compared to the likes of Sonic 2006, Sonic Unleashed is capable of producing CGI film quality graphics very similar to those from the best Disney/Pixar animated film properties. Yoshihisa Hashimoto who was the Director of this game at the time, spent months analyzing video games, CGI films, and even people and places in real life. He came to the conclusion that current-generation games are missing an element known in the computer animation field as Global Illumination.
This allows for a light source to hit a scene, and light is reflected off every object in the environment. To cover the vast amounts of calculations that needed to be processed, they also came up with a system that connected 100 computers for the team to distribute the workload. This enabled them to complete all the lighting calculations for an action stage (which is about 6-8 miles long) in 2 or 3 days.
Hashimoto's team also developed a technology called Light Field, which blended the characters naturally into the environments. With this technology, Sonic can run through an action stage while the light is being reflected off him naturally as if he “belongs” there (in contrast to past games where Sonic looks out of place in several environments). As a result, Sonic Unleashed manages to stand out from the rest of the platformers of its age in that rather than lowering the quality down to PS2 levels (as was the case with some early PS3 and 360 games around 2005-2007), the game uses pseudo-raytracing, coupled with the introduction of the then-novel Boost gameplay mechanic and a custom control scheme dedicated to the Werehog/Night levels, as well as a seamless day/night cycle to provide fast and smooth looking 3D environments.
Coupled together with the XBOX 360's great sprite and polygon capabilities for enemies and explosions and polygon-built ships (mainly those from Dr. Eggman), along with the PS1-quality ease of development that made the XBOX 360 the king in the eyes of general gamers, makes Sonic Unleashed look like quite a feast for the ears, as well as the eyes.
So how does it play? Well, I'm not too sure if it went down well in Malaysia but judging by how hard it is to find a copy, I'd say it wasn't well received (in my area). Most households in Malaysia probably only owned a PS2 back in the day, so the PS2 version of Unleashed is much more common. Globally though, and on the Sonic circles, I remember Sonic Unleashed being showered with praise the world over, with high critic scores and glowing fan and user reviews. This could be because Sonic Unleashed fixed the flawed controls that plagued '06 and turned the franchise's reputation from being stained into a great sendoff for the future, with great gameplay, a killer story, and an AWESOME mix of orchestral, rock, and miscellaneous soundtrack genres as you played all the way from Apotos (based on Mykonos, Greece) to Eggmanland (based on Luna Park Sydney).
There is a lot to blast and search for as well as getting yourself lost quite often in the Open World Hubs (^o^;) Oh and about the gameplay, the Daytime stages are some of the BEST that you'll ever see in terms of graphical fidelity (only bested by Frontiers, Shadow Generations, and the upcoming Crossworlds), and the Werehog stages, it's debatable, but it is pretty good to me. It's not 100% perfect though - there are some minor flaws such as very weird frame-rate issues, and falling down easily when using your ring energy, the Werehog levels can be very long but not as bad as other worse beat-em-ups on the 360 such as TMNT Turtles in Time Re-Shelled and Golden Axe Beast Rider. I wanted to call it "God of War inspired" but that would be me pulling the Sony fanboy card. Let's just say the combat reminded me of either Spike Out, Streets of Rage, or even Batman Returns on the Super Famicom, maybe a touch of Arkham Asylum and Arkham City (though these are later games). You need to replay levels to get the medals which become harder to find.
Bottom line, if you're into the odd type of action platformer with a killer story, then I think Sonic Unleashed will suit you. This game is compatible with XBOX ONE and XBOX SERIES consoles, and if you play it on an XBOX SERIES S or X, you get the added bonus of 60 FPS boost mode which is really awesome.

Looking for ways to spend your Violet Harmon or Murder House fall or just simply looking for entertainment? Here's a list for you. 🍁🎃👻
Twilight
Twilight was a film adapted based on the book series where a girl that goes by the name of Bella Swan who moves into forks and falls for an attractively mysterious guy who turns out to be a vampire.
Violet might like Twilight because it shares somewhat Tate and Violet's dynamic where Violet moves into a new neighbourhood and falls for a guy with a dark secret and well vampires.
Gorky Park
Gorky Park follows a story of a detective who finds 3 bodies with their identities gruesomely erased from them and buried in the snow as a COLD case in Gorky Park. The detective figured the practice was done by a professional only to be tangled into a web of political corruption.
This may have encouraged Violet to get the house for her morbid curiosity as in the pilot script, Violet was curious to the morbid stories down the basement. Unable to unlock the basement, the house was sold for her to explore it.
Beetlejuice
Beetlejuice follows a story about a deceased couple who haunt their house to scare new residents. The deetz family moved in, and the couple that failed to haunt them decided to get help from a poltergeist who went by the name betelgeuse, also known as Beetlejuice. However, Betelgeuse antics had escalated, and now a living girl with a fascination for the macabre and initially struggles with her dysfunctional family known as Lydia Deetz befriends the ghostly couple and helps them to get rid of betelgeuse.
Im sure Violet would relate to Lydia Deetz on a personal level due to their feeling of being alienated by their dysfunctional family and interest in the macabre.
The Addams Family
The dark, humoured series follows a dysfunctional macabre family, alienation, familial bonds, and embracing one’s unique identity, much like Violet's own struggles with her sense of self and her complicated family dynamics and resonating to Wednesday's melancholic yet resilient character.
Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix
Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix is reflected in her parallels to Harry Potter, Draco Malfoy, and Luna Lovegood. Like Harry, Violet feels isolated and misunderstood while confronting the oppressive forces in her life. Luna represents acceptance of individuality and the struggles of indifference, mirroring Violet's own struggle with identity. Meanwhile, Draco's internal conflict, stemming from his family's dark secrets and expectations, adds another layer of complexity as he grapples with loyalty and morality.
Extra: Hogwarts was built after Harvard, which may be one of the reasons why Violet wanted to go to Harvard before not only because it was a largely commended and known school but her appreciation for art and it's architecture just like her appreciation for her house because "it's got soul".
NO, I PROMISE I DIDN'T ADD THIS BECAUSE OF MY OBSESSION. (clearly... 😇 and I'm getting paid for this job so...)
NANA
The series follows a romance between two girls who were both named NANA who met on the same train to tokyo. However, their relationship is jeopardized as the harsh realities of the adult life.
Violet could be seen reading the mange NANA #1 in the series.
Buffy the Vampire Slayer
Violet's affinity for the darkness would enjoy this series along with the vampire aspects and took place in LA. The Rosenheim Mansion (Murder House) also made an appearance on the series in Buffy the Vampire Slayer Season 4: Episode 4: Fear itself.
Chilling Adventures of Sabrina
Violet has a whimsigothic element and has an affinity for macabre elements as mentioned. Sabrina struggles with finding her own identity due to her witch heritage, friends, family secrets, sense of rebellion to social norms, and chaos in her life, which Violet could resonate to.
Wednesday
As mentioned previously for films referenced to the Addams Family & Gorky Park, Violet may enjoy this series that has a touch for coming of age, struggling to fit social norms, family secrets, murder mystery, and so on...
X-Files
X-Files is a series of special agents that investigate the unexplained, also known as the x-files, and previously was a popular meme to the illuminati. Violet's affinity to crime and murder mystery may enjoy this just like Wednesday and Gorky Park.
The X-Files also featured the Alfred Rosenheim Manor (Murder House) in the X-Files Season 6, Episode 6: How the Ghost Stole Christmas.
