Have I written for the Travelers yet?

My thoughts about a relationship with either Traveler

I think Aether's a tad smidge more protective than Lumine, not because Lumine doesn't care, but because she's more confident in her ability to protect you

Losing his sister hit Aether pretty hard and part of that trauma manifests in watching over you near constantly

Aether prefers nose nuzzles while Lumine prefers forehead bumps

Lumine's a strong girl so she likes to pick you up, Aether prefers to carry your stuff

But both of them put you on the inside of the street when walking

And both of them push you behind them at the slightest moment of danger

The were just some of my thoughts

Ft: Aether, Lumine, Itto, Kaeya, and Diluc.

A/n: The reader is completely Gender Nutral, but I wanted to mention that sometimes the reader is considered "smaller" or being blocked by people, and when I say that, in my mind they are like huge huge, 10'ft and broad, so even if your tall you'd still be fairly Small compared to them! And I headcanon Itto to be very tall as well so :) and size is not really mentioned at all besides those few moments

Aether

Aether would be the one that got you into the mess, not on purpose, but you had insisted. You insisted on helping him on this quest that you knew he wouldn't be able to complete alone.

Aether had to be held back by whoever else was helping you two, tears falling from his face as he tried to get to you, he felt weak, you were trapped, he could hear you crying and knew that even if he did manage to break free, he wouldn't be able to get to you in time.

Lumine

"Travler, please, they can't be saved.." Aether glared at him, and if looks could kill. When they finally let him go, the strain he was putting on their arms became too much he used his newfound ability's to break the wall that had separated the two of you. He saw you laying lifeless on the floor and sat next to you, pulling you into his lap as he gently hummed a song to you, your favorite.

Lumine would be much the same as her brother, except she didn't bring you with her. No matter how much you begged, you could never convince her to bring you with her. She knew the risks all too well, which is why she always refused. That didn't stop you, though, when she left for her mission you followed behind her, far enough away that she wouldn't hear you or sense you.

When she walked into a dangerous cave, you walked in right after her. The only reason she noticed you was because you had fallen and ended up twisting your ankle.

"I'm okay Lumine, really I am." She wanted to believe you, but the way you winced at her soft touches convinced her otherwise.

"Why are you here?"

"You were going to get hurt." She sighed and nodded, helping you up onto your feet, holding you up so you didn't step on your hurting one.

You were being chased, Lumine was too slow dragging you along with her so you fell to the floor and accepted your fate, she was too far gone by the time she realised it, her sword was now drawn but you hurt, too hurt. She killed the monster that had been attacking the two of you, and she held you close to her, begging you to wake up.

Itto

Itto was the one that brought you. The travler and him were on a simple mission that couldn't go wrong, and you had always begged to go with him, so there shouldn't be any harm in bringing you on this one. He was wrong, very wrong. Everything that could go wrong had, the first sign should've been the Fatui being there, even though the mission letter said that the camp was vacant.

But it was only the Fatui.

They found what they were looking for, Itto's boisterous laughter was what had alerted the hidden Fatui. They walked into the room the three of you were in, you were the weakest looking, so they went to you first, knocking the big Oni out of the way with far too much ease. You ran over to Itto. Before you could get to him, though, a big arm blocked your way. They picked you up even easier and threw you hard through a window. Once Itto got up, the travler forced itto to go and check on you.

When he found you, he couldn't contain his anger or his sadness. He left you. You were still awake, and it would only take a matter of seconds to kill the bastards that hurt you. When he got back, your pool of blood had grown as you grew pale. You had only held out that long because you knew Itto wouldn't ever forgive himself for not being there when you passed. He stayed there for a while, he moved you from the rock that he didn't know impaled you until it was too late, his big hands caressing your delicate face, placing one last kiss to your lips as he held you close.

Kaeya

The fatui had come to your shared home to get revenge for their comrades that Kaeya had killed without mercy just a few days ago. He was still asleep, still tired from what the two of you had done the night before. Which is why you didn't react when you heard a door open, you assumed it was Kaeya.

When you turned to greet your boyfriend, your breath caught in your throat before a loud, deafening scream escaped you. Kaeya jumped up almost instantly and ran into the kitchen, wiping his eyes and looking for you. He couldn't see you past the large man that stood in front of you, knife pressed to your neck.

"Let them go. It's me you want, right?" You wanted to call out to Kaeya, but the knife slashed your neck before you were able to. An eye for an eye was their idea. You killed who we love most, so we'll kill what you love most. Kaeya had to choose between revenge or being with you. They were leaving, but so we're you. He fell to his knees next to you, covering your bleeding neck with dishcloths hoping to slow the bleeding enough that he would be able to get you to a doctor, but your hand came to his cheek, gently taking him one last time, before your arm fell limp to your side and he closed your eyes. "I'm sorry."

Diluc

Diluc was out on vigilante business when he heard a familiar scream. He brushed it off for a second until he thought about it. He knew your scream for multiple reasons, and the scream that had just rung through Mondstat sounded unfortunately similar. It only took him about 30 seconds to find you and the man that was attacking you, when he saw that you were still putting up a fight, he felt relieved, he had gotten there just in time to help you.

Until the man pulled out a bottle of something and smashed it over your head. The bottle was brittle, so it didn't knock you out, but that wasn't the point. The poison needed to soak in order to work the best. Diluc slashed the man down with his sword and got to you. He picked you up in his arms, kissing you gently. He hadn't lost all hope, not yet. He brought you to Albedo, assuming he would know how to reverse the effects. "If he had poured it anywhere, I might have been able to. How long ago did you say this happened?" Albedo was rubbing creams over your forehead, pouring all sorts of disgusting liquids down your throat and making sure you were still awake.

"About 3 minutes ago." Diluc was trying not to worry, for your sake. "You'll survive this, baby." He assured you, but your eyes were feeling heavy, and you could barely even feel your face anymore. He turned away for a moment, glaring at Albedo, who tried to prepare Diluc for the inevitable, but when Diluc turned back to you, you were gone. He shook you, tapped your face a few times, tears falling down his cheeks as he tried to kiss you awake, whispering, begging you to wake up. "Please, I can't lose you too."

↳ You were once a world traveler alongside the twins—one being your lover...but that was until you had disappeared from their side not too long after their run in with the heavenly principles. So...what a coincidence would it be if a certain unexpected traveler showed up.

You flopped onto your bed—nothing seemed better than to just be unconscious in a world of bliss and nothingness.

Earlier you had to deal with a stuck up local who commissioned you. Fortunately you were saved by the artistic consultant de Fontaine who graciously invited you for a quick tea and sandwich but it was cut short as your food and drink splattered on your outfit by a bumping local.

So here you were, splat across your mattress, staring at nothingness in contemplation of your life.

How you wished you could go back to your old life..

You started to reminiscence of your previous adventures with the blonde twins—hopping different worlds, exploring their vast lands and fighting off unique and exquisite monsters.

Your eyebrows furrow as your mind drifts to that day—the day where you lost everything, lost them—him.

You remember it so clearly, the night sky with it's stars shining down upon the world, the moon's glow cascading over the nourishing life, though..it all turned red so quickly. Fire spreading, smoke arising from every corner. The world was crumbling, you, yourself included.

You remember, you could still feel it, the way your hand slowly crumbled away into ash. You remember the horrified faces of the twins as the realization sank in. You remember the last time you saw his face as he cradled you before the only thing left was ashes and darkness.

But then..you woke up here. The burning sensation that filled your eyes from the salt, how the world around you felt light yet heavy at the same time..that was until you felt movement from yourself and another. And that's where you met Furina—well, Focalors, the God of justice and the Archon of hydro. Overall throughout your years here, the two of you had gotten close, practically family at this point.

..

Your time of reminiscing was interrupted with knocking from your door.

Quickly getting up you opened the door and were greeted by one of Furina's servants.

"Lady {Y/N}, Lady Furina wishes to speak to you quickly."

"HE'S HERE!?"

Your shouts bounced off the walls of the court room, Furina swore the whole city of Fontaine heard.

She shook her head. "Well, yes and no. Aether's here on Teyvat, yes, but he's not in this region." She corrected placing her head on her hand with intrugement.

"B-but he's here! Holy shit!" You cussed, both hands at the side of your head as you paced nervously. But you briefly stopped, your brows furrowing, "wait..he's here..? Where's Lumine?" You questioned.

Furina raised her brow in confusion, "His sister?" She paused, hesitating as she thought..She shook her head, "{Y/N}...She—...she isn't here, theres no records of her existence here physically, the only thing of her being is words from the traveler." She stated as her brows furrowed in sympathy.

She knew your relationships with the twins. She didn't want to be the barrier of bad news but better to say it now than let it be found later. Right?

She watched as you stood in silence before sighing. "Do you know where he is now?" You asked as she hummed in thought before nodding, "I believe he's somewhere in Sumeru, I heard there was quite a big event there."

You furrowed your brows before shaking your head, "thank you Furina, I need a bit of time to uhh figure all this out." You smiled as she nodded in understanding.

Two weeks have passed, you haven't heard much about the Aether only a few mummers and mumbles every once in a while.

You still had hope and your were ecstatic to see him for the first time in how many years? Right..4 years.

You wondered if he changed at all or if he was still the same—like his looks, or persona. Maybe even his relationships? Would that also mean his relationship with you would've changed..? What if he didn't like you anymore—moved on, found someone else? What if-

You shook your head, not wanting to sink deeper into that abyss.

You walked along the shore of Fontaine, your brows furrowed as you tried calming your gearing mind.

"AGH! Why couldn't I have just not turn to dust!?" You complained, throwing your head back as you pressed your nails into your head in irritation but quickly let go as you heard something behind you.

"{Y/N}..?"

Hi hi I'm a whole year late but I hope you like him!! Since we now have the Wanderer instead of Scaramouche, I decided to draw him as Scara! Which took me back to the times of Unreconciled Stars, and then I had this idea LOLOL

Twinless Twins

Has anyone else notice how different the Traveler's relationship with each Archon is?

So far I think that they are the closest to Nahida, they seem to be the most protective of her out of all the other Archons (which, understandable considering all the stuff she's been through)

Meanwhile someone like Venti their interactions feel like they've been close friends for years. You know that one friend that you can let lose and have fun around with, and no matter how down you are they always find a way to cheer you up? Yeah that!

With Zhongli there's definitely a sense of respect there. Zhongli always offers to talk to the Traveler about what is bothering them, he always seems to more then happy to provide comfort and answers in his own weird cryptic old man way. (take the recent Lantern Rite for example)

Ei is a different case. They both share the pain of losing a sibling so there's that mutual understanding, and also some level of trust (take Ei's second sq for that) but they don't seem as close as the other Archons.

Sorry for rambling these are the kind of things my sleep deprived brain thinks about when I can sleep.

Obviously these are my own interpretations of Traveler and the Archons relationships based on the interactions we've been given in game. But please! Tell me how you see their relationships or add to this if you want!

Childe x Lumine - “Nightmare”

Description: Lumine has a nightmare, and luckily Childe is there to comfort her.

Warnings: Just angst

The air surrounding was thick, and the deafening silence did nothing to ease Lumine’s fear. She was falling or flying. She couldn’t tell. But the further away the light went the smaller it became. And the smaller her hope for survival became. The further she travelled into the darkness of the abyss, the closer the screams felt, sending shivers down her back. She could scream, but it was on use down here. No one could hear her. 

The air felt thick and suffocating as if he were underwater. But every time she took a breath, she felt no air in her lungs, bringing her to feel as though she were about to die. Lumine was terrified of the thought of death its self, it haunted her and brought an unconscious panic to rise in her chest.  She closed her eyes as tears fell from her eyes, pulling her back to reality. She abruptly sat up in her bed in a cold sweat. Panting heavily, gasping for oxygen back into her lungs. 

The next thing she knew she was being pulled into a tight hug as a familiar someone gently patted her hair. She could smell the familiar scent of Childe, who she had previously spent the night with. 

He whispered sweet things in her ear and her sobs quietened down. She caught her breath back and slowly faded back into reality. She hugged back, desperately clinging to Childe’s shirt as if he would disappear at any moment.  Childe held her close to his chest, his heart beat practically echoed in his head out of panic. He had woken up to Lumine’s heart-wrecking scream from beside her as she shot up in bed, tears falling from her eyes. He wasted to time to rush to her and pull her close to him not even bothering to put any clothes on beforehand, she was his first priority. 

Once she calmed down, he laid her back down on the bed before climbing in beside here, pulling her close to him again. She hurried her head in his chest. Her tears continued to drip down her cheeks and soak the pillow underneath them. Her body shook from panic and fear. 

Childe continued to comfort Lumine until she was ready talk. Occasional sobs and sniffles left her mouth, followed by a sigh.  Childe’s gentle touches and reassurance brought her back to reality. Her nagged breaths became slightly less shaky. 

“I’m s-sorry for-“ Lumine breathed. “Waking you.” Her voice shook with every word as her body continued to shake. 

“Sh sh, it’s ok don’t apologise.” Childe reassured. “You’re ok, you’re safe.”

  “Thank you.” Lumine sighed into his bare chest. “These nightmares happen a lot.” 

“Do you wanna talk about it?” Childe asked, gently rubbing circles on her back. 

“Yes, but I need a minute first.” Lumine huffed, her tears subsiding.

  “Thats ok, take your time.” Childe reassured her again. 

After she regained herself, she told Childe about her nightmare. He listened intently to make sure she remained ok. He pitied her, he understood how scary the abyss can be. The suffocating darkness was haunting. 

“I had no idea you knew the abyss like I did.” Childe stated after she had finished. 

“You’ve been to the abyss too?” Lumine asked, looking up at him through her lashes. 

“Yeah, I uh, I fell into the abyss as a kid.” Childe began. “Thats where I learned to fight actually, it felt like I was there for months but when I returned to the surface it had only been a few days. I can remember it like it was yesterday. It stripped the light out of my eyes, even my own family couldn’t recognise me. My siblings didn’t notice, they were too young to understand or even remember me before the abyss. My mother refused to look at me and my father.. well, he sent me to the fatui. The Tsaritsa, despite what you’ve heard about her, is not all that bad. She took me in and gave me a home. I owe my life to her for that.”

Lumine listened to his story, never expecting him to be so open to her about it. Yet she was glad she wasn’t alone anymore. She could tell it was a painful memory for him, and hoped he would be able to heal from it eventually.

“Seems like you and I are both children of the abyss.” Lumine sighed. 

“Seems like it.” Childe added. “Thank you, Lumine.” 

“Thank you as well, Ajax.”

Y'know it makes sense that the traveler is getting more voicelines in cut scenes and stuff when you consider that Paimon had to teach them the language of Teyvat (see about language). So basically they've just become more proficient in the language and can actually hold conversations now.
