I am obsessed with soulmate characters. There is no (light) without (dark) there is no (sun) without (rain) there is no (day) without (night) there is no (joy) without (anger) there is no (red) without (green) there is no (love) without (hate) there is no (defense) without (offense) there is no (tide) without (moon) and these characters can be love interests, best friends, enemies, rivals, I DON'T CARE, but they understand each other like no one else does and where one goes the other follows

And this isn't about just grumpy x sunshine this is about one existing without the other. Characters where if you take one away a part of them gets taken with the other, characters whose lives are significantly altered by the absence of the other, characters who literally already do find each other in different universes.

“I know I’ve never been the most present of fathers, always heading out to perform my duties, and always forgetting that I had my own close knit family at the heart of Nightmare’s nest. But... You know I’ve always loved you, right? You’re my faerling, Lumin. My little faerling... S—so won’t you open your eyes?”

Softly, the stardust began to trickle between Ink’s fingers, and he cluthed the fragile body of Lumin closer to himself, as if he could stop it from vanishing in his arms.

“If not for me, then for Nightmare. Lumin, sweet light, he will not survive this loss. P—please, Lumin, don’t go...”

His sockets stung and the sight of Lumin’s serene face grew blurred, yet still it glittered as bone slowly turned to the most beautiful stardust Ink had even laid eyes upon, and he mourned and hated it, because it took away his Lumin; his faerling.

“Lumin...?”

The night was silent.

They can create little balls of light that feel like touching fire (duh) But they hate hurting people which is why they isolate. Their scared theyll hurt someone by accident:( Their my baby boi and I love them

has there ever been a time lumin did something that nightmare dissaproved or? or that nightmare has expressed dissapointment in lumin?

The first time Lumin snuck near to the nearest Big Folk village is a day Nightmare loathe to remember, not only because it was the first time in centuries that he ventured close to yank his still young faerling back home, but it was the first and only time he made Lumin cry. He just couldn’t help the way he yelled at his sweet little apple to “never get close to the big folk, Lumin. Never!” Oh, the glittering tears on Lumin’s face broke his soul in two, and he cradled and held him as close as the day he was born, wishing that he could forever keep him safe from all harm in the world but knowing that Lumin would go out again; try to explore again. He will inevitably try to approach the big folk in the future once more, Nightmare knows this, but for as long as Lumin remains a faerling he will forbid him from approaching any nearby villages.

He just cannot bear the thought of losing his little apple.
